In addition to select, hand-picked Game Boy and Game Boy Color classics, the 3DS's Virtual Console will also play host to titles from two slightly surprising sources: The Sega Game Gear and TurboGraphx-16 handhelds. No specific entries from the two devices were named during Reggie Fils-Aime's presentation at Nintendo's GDC keynote today -- though we've got our fingers crossed for the speedy arrival of <em>Sonic Chaos</em>.<br />
<br />
Fils-Aime also confirmed the late May arrival of the Virtual Console via a system update, which wiill also introduce a handful of the device's other online features, including: DSiWare (and the ability to transfer DSiWare games from a DSi or DSi XL), the web browser and eShop. It's likely to be the same update that will <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/netflix-and-short-form-video-service-coming-to-nintendo-3ds/">add Netflix</a> and some 3D video features, too.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/3ds-virtual-console-getting-game-gear-and-turbographx-16-games/">3DS Virtual Console getting Game Gear and TurboGraphx-16 games, coming late May</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Mar 2011 13:04:00 EST. Hudson is (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/29/turbografx-16-comes-to-iphone-unofficially/">officially</a>) bringing Turbografx-16 games to iPhone and iPod Touch "this winter" in a free TurboGrafx Gamebox app. It'll launch with a library of $3.99 games, and will include one, the Olympic-style <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Sports_Competition">World Sports Competition</a></em>, for free. Each day, Hudson will select one game from the library and make it available through the app for a free three-minute trial. <br />
<br />
Hudson didn't announce the initial lineup, but we're going to go out on a limb and guess it'll include <em>Bonk's Adventure</em> and <em>Military Madness</em>. And knowing that many people missed out on the TurboGrafx-16, we're happy to see the games being brought to such a popular platform.<br />
<br />
And there's the terrible part. Last time we checked, the iPhone continued not to have buttons. So that's $4 each for a potentially great game to be rendered <em>totally unplayable</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/10/turbografx-16-emulation-app-coming-to-iphone/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>TurboGrafx-16 emulation app coming to iPhone</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/10/turbografx-16-emulation-app-coming-to-iphone/">TurboGrafx-16 emulation app coming to iPhone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Dec 2010 20:45:00 EST. Firmware version 6.3 is out and as <a href="http://www.fistfullofpotions.com/2010/06/neogeo-for-psp.html">Fist Full of Potions</a> points out, something's rotten in Denmark -- or very sweet, depending on how you feel about Japanese consoles of yesteryear. The update allows you to "group content" by putting your games into specific folders corresponding to platform, but also curiously adds empty folders for the NeoGeo and PC Engine -- otherwise known as the TurboGrafx-16. <br />
<br />
This update could be the precursor to an announcement for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/15/japans-playstation-network-offering-pc-engine-games/">the PC Engine Archives</a> extending their reach beyond Japan or it could simply be an overlooked byproduct of the update. Either way, we've contacted Sony for comment and will let you know what we find out.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/29/psp-firmware-6-3-adds-folders-for-neogeo-and-pc-engine-games/">PSP firmware 6.3 adds folders for NeoGeo and PC Engine games</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 Jun 2010 13:10:00 EST. A quick look after the break is all you need to realize that you are wrong. Aaron Nanto of <a href="http://pcenginefx.com/main/">pcenginefx.com</a> has filmed a beautiful unboxing video notable not only for its subject (an NEC TurboExpress, the handheld version of the Turbografx-16 console) but for its beautiful cinematography.<br />
<br />
For us, this video lies somewhere between "love story" and "pornography," though we wouldn't dare suggest it's indecent to watch. We've never been so thrilled to see five seconds of <em>Keith Courage in Alpha Zones</em>.<br type="_moz" /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/06/the-turboexpress-lovingly-unboxed/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The TurboExpress, lovingly unboxed</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/06/the-turboexpress-lovingly-unboxed/">The TurboExpress, lovingly unboxed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 06 Apr 2010 12:30:00 EST. As far as imports go, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/castlevania-rondo-of-blood"><em>Castlevania: Rondo of Blood</em></a> is a pretty sweet one. For $9, it's a great game to add to any <em>Castlevania</em> fan's collection and plays quite well on the Wii: casual players get a forgiving save structure and stage system, while the hardcore fans get the same tried-and-true gameplay. <em>Rondo of Blood</em> is suited for quick pick-up sessions or even long marathon outings. Basically: you should play this game. It's good -- <em>seriously</em> good.<br />

It features the standard two-button controller, with turbo switches, and a 5.4" screen. It's a nice compromise between the two <em>existing</em> Turbografx-16 handhelds, combining the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TurboExpress">TurboExpress/PC Engine GT</a>'s portability with the <a href="http://retro-treasures.blogspot.com/2007/09/rare-nec-pc-engine-lt-sighted.html">PC Engine LT</a>'s more usable screen size. Also, it's <em>red</em>.<br /><br />Bacteria has posted detailed <a href="http://moddedbybacteria.wordpress.com/retro-console-system-modding-guides/turbografx-pc-engine/intografx-build/">build notes</a> for this, in case you'd like to tackle this project yourself. If you're not technically inclined, however, you can always just play PC Engine and TG16 games <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/15/japans-playstation-network-offering-pc-engine-games/">on your PSP</a>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/29/bacterias-back-at-it-with-intografx-portable-turbografx-16/">Engadget</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/30/modder-invents-portable-turbografx-16-again/">Modder invents portable Turbografx-16, again</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 30 Jul 2009 09:36:00 EST. Don't worry, <em>Bonk</em> fans. The PlayStation Store's expansion into TurboGrafx territory won't remain a Japan-only affair. Hudson confirmed to <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2009/07/27/turbografx-16-game-archives-adventuring-overseas/">Siliconera</a> that it plans to port its classics onto the North American PSN -- although it didn't provide a time frame. Japanese gamers can <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/15/japans-playstation-network-offering-pc-engine-games/">already</a> download a variety of "PC Engine" games from the PlayStation Store, including <em>Bomberman '94, New Adventure Island</em>, <em>Sengoku Mahjong </em>and <em>Devil's Crush</em>, each for &yen;600 ($6.33). As with downloadable PS1 games, these titles are compatible with both the PS3 and PSP.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/27/turbografx-16-games-coming-to-north-american-psn/">TurboGrafx-16 games coming to North American PSN</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 27 Jul 2009 14:00:00 EST. <div align="center"><span style="font-style: italic;">SimEarth: The Living Planet</span> (TG16 CD-ROM, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)<br />We say: <strong>Best played on PC</strong><br /></div>
<br />This week's release is an oldie, but a goodie: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/22/nintendoware-weekly-neves-plus-brings-art-style-to-simearth/"><em>SimEarth: The Living Planet</em></a> for the TurboGrafx-16. It's been a <strong>long</strong> time since I played this game, and it's still as fun as I remember it. It's much better on the PC (<em>way</em> better controls), but, if this is your only way to play the game, I'd suggest you check it out.<br /><br />

This week's star of the show is undoubtedly WiiWare, which receives the very rare "three-title-update." Playing second and third fiddle are DSiWare and the Virtual Console, which both get the usual one new title. So, without further ado, let's check out what's available to download this week across Nintendo platforms in the latest <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nintendoware-weekly">NintendoWare Weekly</a>.<br />

Nintendo's WiiWare service has apparently sparked a renewed interest in developing games with one pixelated foot rooted in the past. Following both <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mega-man-9">Capcom</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/gradius-rebirth-announced-for-wiiware/">Konami's</a> head start, Hudson has likewise decided to dip into its archives, returning with news to bring the Wii-make of its TurboGrafx-16 sci-fi pinball game,<em> Alien Crush</em>, to North America. <br />
<br />
Descriptively titled<em> Alien Crush Returns</em>, the download was released today in Japan and is based on the 1988 classic, which itself is available on WiiWare's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/virtual-console">sister service</a>. While a date for the game's North American debut has not yet been announced, Hudson notes the follow-up will again be played across two screens and an unspecified number of boards, each no doubt filled with galactic baddies with a lust for silver balls. Most interesting, however, is news that <em>Alien Crush Returns</em> will support two-player online play as well as include online leader boards, with Hudson promising multiple online tournaments for the pinball-obsessed to throw down with their E.T. crushing skills.<br />

    <li><em>Chase H.Q.</em> (TG16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>Art of Fighting 2</em> (NEO, 1 - 2 players, 900 Wii Points)</li>
</ul>
Sadly, there won't be a video wrap-up for this week's releases. But, we should be back next week with our usual video coverage of the Virtual Console releases on Wii.<br /><br />[Via press release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/vc-monday-madness-pong-toss-art-of-fighting-2-and-chase-h-q/">VC Monday Madness: Pong Toss, Art of Fighting 2 and Chase H.Q.</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Jul 2008 12:37:00 EST. Attention <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/jailbreak">"jailbroken"</a> iPhone owners: <a href="http://toucharcade.com/2008/05/27/temper4iphone-a-turbografx-16-emulator-for-iphone/">Touch Arcade</a> reports that it's now perfectly okay to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bonk"><em>Bonk</em></a> your wunderphone without having to worry about its purty glass screen cracking. Emulator author <a href="http://www.zodttd.com/">ZodTTD</a> (shall we kneel before him?) has ported the nifty <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TurboGrafx-16">TurboGrafx-16</a> emu, <a href="http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/Temper">Temper</a>, to iPhone as - wait for it - <a href="http://www.zodttd.com/forums/showthread.php?s=ac11bfc6519ab8b728118f2021c17ebb&amp;t=1831">temper4iphone</a>.<br /><br />Temper was originally developed for the South Korean <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gp2x">GamePark 2X</a> handheld and ran ROM- and CD-Based titles designed for NEC's 16-bit system, which was a smash in Japan (as the PC-Engine) but enjoyed modest success in the West under its <em>Turbo</em>-fied moniker. As you can see from the embedded video, the emu is already plenty impressive. Unlike its GP2X counterpart, there's no support (yet) for CD-based game images, but compatibility with TG-16 ROMs (if you don't own the game, don't download em, 'kay?) is said to be high. Like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/23/iphone-gets-snes-emulation/">previous emulators</a> ported to iPhone, the retro console's controls are recreated on the touch screen. <br /><br />Apple is expected to launch its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/09/3g-iphone-rumors-building-up-steam/">"2.0" refresh of the iPhone</a> along with the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/06/apple-announces-app-store-for-iphone-ipod-touch/">iPhone App Store</a> in just a couple of weeks, and we'd be jazzed to see a proper Virtual Console-esque suite of "sanctioned" emulators offered for download via the service.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.tuaw.com/2008/05/28/temper4iphone-emulates-turbografx-16-on-the-iphone/">TUAW</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/29/turbografx-16-comes-to-iphone-unofficially/">TurboGrafx-16 comes to iPhone (unofficially)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 May 2008 04:00:00 EST. It's Monday, which means that the Virtual Console provides us with downloadable entertainment. It's been awhile since we've gotten a N64 game, so color us excited about that. As for the other title up for for grabs, well ... we don't really have any experience with that one. So, we're looking forward to trying that out.<br /><br />This week's Virtual Console releases include:<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>Kirby64: The Crystal Shards</em> (Nintendo 64, 1 - 4 players, 1,000 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>Psychosis</em> (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points)</li>
</ul>
And, unlike last week, you can <em>definitely</em> expect a VC Monday Madness video wrap-up later on today.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/25/vc-monday-madness-psychosis-and-kirby64/">VC Monday Madness: Psychosis and Kirby64</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Feb 2008 09:45:00 EST. Today's Virtual Console offerins are in stark contrast of one another. On the one hand, you have a calm, some would say somber, title like <em>Harvest Moon</em>, where you'll settle for nothing less than having the best farm ever. On the other hand, there's <em>Lords of Thunder</em>, which tasks the player with shooting the crap out of everything on screen.<br /><br />This week's Virtual Console releases are:<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>Harvest Moon </em>(SNES, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>Lords of Thunder</em> (TurboGrafx16 CD-ROM, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) </li>
</ul>
Be sure to stop back later for our video wrap-up of this week's Virtual Console games.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/11/vc-monday-madness-harvest-moon-and-lords-of-thunder/">VC Monday Madness: Harvest Moon &amp; Lords of Thunder</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 11 Feb 2008 09:45:00 EST. Another week means another bunch of Virtual Console games. Like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/07/vc-monday-madness-video-wrap-up-1-7-08/">last week</a>, this week only brings us two titles, but one of them <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/28/the-bossmans-still-in-the-dragonzone-the-virtual-console-is-he/">excites us</a> very much. The other title is one we're familiar with and enjoy. So, it looks like today is going to be a good day for the Virtual Console.<br /><br />This week's Virtual Console releases are:<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>RiotZone</em> (1 player, TurboGrafx16, 800 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>Pac-Attack</em> (1 - 2 players, SNES, 800 Wii Points)</li>
</ul>

This week has three new titles, each of which has an 800 Wii Point price tag. And, even better, we get a nice variety of titles from a variety of consoles. Variety, we love it!<br /><br />This week's Virtual Console releases are:<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>Cybernator </em>(SNES, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>Alien Storm </em>(Sega Genesis, 1 - 2 players, 800 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>Monster Lair </em>(TurboGrafx16 CD-ROM, 1 -2 players, 800 Wii Points)</li>
</ul>
And, do be sure to stop back later tonight, when we'll have our video wrap-up posted.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/17/vc-monday-madness-cybernator-alien-storm-monster-lair/">VC Monday Madness: Cybernator, Alien Storm, Monster Lair</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 17 Dec 2007 09:45:00 EST. Another Monday, another slew of new games to download on the Virtual Console. For most of you, the big title this week involves combat and bloodshed, as the <em>Mortal Kombat</em> wannabe <em>Eternal Champions</em> becomes available. The other two titles up for grabs aren't ones we have any personal experience with, to tell the truth.<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>Eternal Champions</em> (Sega Genesis, 1 - 2 players, 800 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>ZANAC</em> (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/01/wonder-boy-on-the-vc-makes-us-wonder-whats-going-on/"><em>The Dynastic Hero</em></a> (TurboGrafx 16 CD-ROM, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)</li>

<font color="red">Update</font>: Sorry, folks. I overlooked that <em>Gates of Thunder </em>was the first TG16 CD game to release, not <em>Super Air Zonk</em>. Silly me, I also made a huge mental error in stating <em>Working Crew</em> was releasing. <br /><br />This week's Virtual Console update shows the release of <strike>the first</strike> a new TurboGrafx16 CD-ROM game in the United States. Rejoice! Along with that game, come two more, so we get our usual triple dose of downloadables. Those with a keen eye will know a similar game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/09/vc-monday-madness-yoshi-mach-rider-and-air-zonk/">released</a> some time ago.<br /><br />Virtual Console releases for November 19th are:<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>Wrecking Crew</em> (NES, 1 - 2 players, 500 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>Sonic 3D Blast </em>(Sega Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>Super Air Zonk</em> (TurboGrafx16 CD-ROM, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)</li>
</ul>
As usual, keep an eye on Wii Fanboy as we'll be bringing you our video wrap-up later on today.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/19/vc-monday-madness-wrecking-crew-air-zonk-and-sonic-3d-blast/">VC Monday Madness: Wrecking Crew, Air Zonk and Sonic 3D Blast [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 Nov 2007 09:28:00 EST. Our wallets, however, have a whole different idea regarding the start of the work week. And, this week, our wallets hate us that much more as the titles on offer cost their fair share of dough. Lucky for us, and for you all, this week's available titles are more good than bad.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/29/vc-monday-madness-video-wrap-up-10-29-07/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VC Monday Madness video wrap-up 10/29/07</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/29/vc-monday-madness-video-wrap-up-10-29-07/">VC Monday Madness video wrap-up 10/29/07</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 29 Oct 2007 21:00:00 EST. Another week, another Virtual Console update. And, with this week's update, we've got three new titles to check out. The obvious high-profile game here is <em>Castlevania II: Simon's Quest</em>, which you all likely remember (whether you enjoyed it or not). That doesn't mean we should forget about the other two games, though.<br /><br />This week's releases are:<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>Castlevania II: Simon's Quest </em>(NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>Samurai-Ghost </em>(TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>Magician Lord</em> (Neo Geo, 1 - 2 players, 900 Wii Points)</li>
</ul>
And, as usual, be sure to stop back later for our video wrap-up of today's releases.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/29/vc-monday-madness-simons-quest-magician-lord-and-samurai-ghos/">VC Monday Madness: Simon's Quest, Magician Lord and Samurai-Ghost</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 29 Oct 2007 10:09:00 EST. Call it a<em> </em></span><span><em>retro-speculative</em>.<br /><br />If you've read Wii Fanboy for any amount of time, you know that we appreciate Turbografx-16 <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/03/the-vc-advantage-shout-at-the-devil/">pinball</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/20/everybody-get-ready-to-buy-devils-crush/">games</a>. It's pretty likely that if you glance at the site at any random moment, you'll see the words <em>Devil's</em> and<em> Crush</em> somewhere on the screen, usually under a "JC Fletcher" byline. The pinball games more than justify the system, especially now that you don't <em>need</em> a Turbografx-16 system to play them. <br /><br />As awesome as it is to have two great TG16 pinball games on the Virtual Console, it would be <em>more</em> awesome to have three. Obviously. <em>Time Cruise</em> is the elusive, lesser-known Turbografx-16 pinball game.</span><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/04/virtually-overlooked-time-cruise/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Virtually Overlooked: Time Cruise</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/04/virtually-overlooked-time-cruise/">Virtually Overlooked: Time Cruise</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Oct 2007 21:10:00 EST. Surprise! It's <em>another shooter!</em> The ESRB now has a rating for one Turbografx-16 CD-ROM title: <em>Super Air Zonk</em>, the sequel to the futuristic <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Bonk/">Bonk</a></em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/09/vc-monday-madness-wrap-up-7-9-07/">spinoff</a> that is already winning hearts and minds on the Virtual Console. Apparently it's not as good as the first <em>Air Zonk </em>game, and, being a CD game, it'll be more expensive. But it is interesting that Hudson's skipping over early Turbo CD games like <em>Ys I &amp; II </em>and going straight to a Duo title. <br /><br />As saturated as we are with shooters, we're still holding out hope that we'll get <em><a href="http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/choaniki/choaniki.htm">Cho Aniki</a> </em>on the VC like Japan is<em>.</em> A very faint hope.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/28/the-first-turbo-cd-game-in-north-america-super-air-zonk/">The first Turbo CD game in North America: Super Air Zonk</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 28 Sep 2007 16:15:00 EST. We have to go back to work and push back the memories of fun from the weekend that just passed. That doesn't count for Virtual Console fans in the U.S. however. No, we celebrate the coming of Monday and cherish its offerings.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/24/vc-monday-madness-video-wrap-up-9-24-07/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VC Monday Madness video wrap-up 9/24/07</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/24/vc-monday-madness-video-wrap-up-9-24-07/">VC Monday Madness video wrap-up 9/24/07</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 24 Sep 2007 15:05:00 EST. Like the great <em>Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine</em>, <em>Kirby's Avalanche</em> is a fine <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puyo_Puyo">Puyo Puyo</a> </em>clone. And, as you all know, we're <em>insane</em> about some puzzle games here at Wii Fanboy estates. Here is all of the games available for download after 9am PST today:<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>Kirby's Avalanche</em> (Super NES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>Streets of Rage 3</em> (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points)</li>
    <li><em>LEGEND OF HERO TONMA</em> (TurboGrafx16, 1-2 players, 600 Wii Points)</li>
</ul>
Be sure top stop back later for our video wrap-up.
