This isn't the first time a publisher has rushed to arms over the sale of replica weapons. In February of this year, Square Enix took stern legal action against those hoping to sell real things based on fake things.
Sony not amused by Uncharted replica gun
Sony Computer Entertainment has declared its intention to take "the most appropriate action" against an online retailer making its Beretta and butter from a replica air gun. The weapon, based on one wielded by the goofy, treasure-hunting protagonist of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, is currently listed for $169.88 on the King of Swords website. Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, a Sony representative noted that the "PS3 Uncharted Drake's Fortune Full Metal M92 Airsoft Gun" was in no way an officially endorsed or condoned product, despite its use of the game's artwork in advertisement.

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 trailer shows off new weapons
One of our favorite things about Rainbow Six: Vegas was the multitude of weapons a player could choose from while outfitting their digital soldier. With varying levels of kickback, damage, ammo capacity, and accuracy, each weapon felt like a unique character, and diehard followings sprung up behind many of the game's realistic firearms.
The above trailer shows a few new "characters" we'll be introduced to in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2; like Mr. Shoots Through Walls, SMG Jr., and a sniper rifle that's bigger than the Juno I satellite launcher. We'll get to meet the whole gang (as will a number of unlucky terrorists) when the game lands in our anticipatory hands come mid-March.
Halo 3 replica mini-weapons
If you're looking for what appears to be good quality, but cheap as anything, miniature replicas of your favorite Halo weapons, then look no further than Master Replica's models. Pictured is the UNSC BR55 Battle Rifle, made of die-cast metal. The rifle is 3.3" x 6" x 2.8", perfect for a little corner of your desk. The other weapon model available is the Covenant Carbine, which is a similar size to the rifle. Currently both models are pre-order only, but who isn't used to that from their games retailer by this point? The units will be shipped sometime this fall. You could always place one of these on your Halo Xbox 360, while you wear your Master Chief suit, and drink your Master Chief Mountain Dew. Merchandising, merchandising, where the real money from the game is made. No word yet if they'll add more weapon models, but we're holding out for Needler bookends.

Tabula Rasa shows off heavy weapons
Tabula Rasa has been a long time coming. Thankfully, it recently started beta testing and we're looking forward to getting a solid look of the end product by E3. When Richard "Lord British" Garriott (who we recommend not robbing) showed the game last year, it was coming along and looked like a perfectly fine alternative to the fantasy filled orc-lands we've gotten used to in the MMO market. In the video, after the break, we get a look at Tabula Rasa's weapons. Graphics have never been a big selling point of MMOs (ask Vanguard what happens when you try do that), so we're just waiting to get a real feel for the questing and gameplay once the beta reports get out. Personally, we still like the Team Fortress 2 heavy weapons video much better.
Today's hottest game video
Welcome to our inaugural coverage of the daily, most-watched YouTube game video. It's like TRL without the shout-outs, and you can actually watch the whole video. Not like we've watched TRL every day since back when it was called Total Request. Also, we hear that Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy back. But we digress: on to the video.Today's YouTube gaming champion is a clip-fest of many weapons and characters from the World of Warcraft's Burning Crusade expansion. With a grooving I'm Too Sexy soundtrack (by Right Said Fred, and no, we didn't have to look that up), thrill as a shot of a weapon is rotated for a few seconds before the next one appears. Hundreds of times. Some weapons even lack textures, letting you imagine what they'll look like in the actual game. The second half of the 6:41 video is set to epic Eastern European choral-and-orchestra music that may or may not have opened The Hunt for Red October.
Finally, viewers who make it to the end of the video are rewarded with a few seconds of some sort of Warcraftian PG-13 simulated sex. What are you waiting for? The video is embedded after the break.

Another list of ten top things: game weapons
GameTrailers does the "top ten" thing and rattles off their list of the "Top Ten Game Weapons." But they didn't just go around giving honors to any old weapon willy-nilly. They stipulated, "flaming fireballs and magic spells are out, but blowing things up is definitely in." Their understandably FPS-heavy list breaks down like this: - 10. Cerebral Bore (Turok 2 & 3): Turok 3 was a bore, amirite?
- 9. Chainsaw (Doom): did they ever figure out why there was a chainsaw on Mars?
- 8. Spreadgun (Contra): you don't use the spreadgun, do you? Wuss ...
- 7. Railgun (Quake 2): the do-it-yourself super weapon of hobbyists everywhere.
- 6. Laptop Gun (Perfect Dark Zero): gets the "remember when this game was good?" nod.
- 5. Energy Sword (Halo 2): you cheap bastard.
- 4. Ice Beam (Metroid): the retro, non-FPS Metroid vote (not that Retro).
- 3. BFG (Doom): the granddaddy of all big fuckin' guns.
- 2. Red Turtle Shell (Mario Kart): the dark horse weapon of the list, and a proven way to destroy a friendship.
- 1. Gravity Gun (Half-Life 2): alright, we gotta give it to them, the gravity gun is some serious weaponry.
