Well, there are probably a few reasons it's not called that, but one that sticks out to us is the likelihood that <em>Reckoning </em>will have multiple DLC packs, if a group of new achievements listed by <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/kingdoms-of-amalur-reckoning/achievements/">Xbox 360 Achievements</a> is to be trusted.<br /><br />The listing is labeled "DLC [Untitled DLC2]" and includes six achievements, five of which are secret. The known achievement is titled "Murder Most Fowl" and gives up 25 points for killing 50 Pteryx. The rest are super <em>secret</em>, but we imagine titles such as "Flipping the birds of prey" and "Cock-a-doodle-do your worst."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/26/achievements-hint-at-additional-kingdoms-of-amalur-dlc/">Achievements hint at additional Kingdoms of Amalur DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Mar 2012 20:00:00 EST. Tips are pouring in from concerned 360 owners.<br /><br />Microsoft is already working on it, noting on its <a href="http://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us?xr=footnav">support page</a> "We are aware of the problem and appreciate your patience while we implement a solution." Joystiq is trying to determine the cause of today's issue, and will keep you updated as the story develops.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Microsoft <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/XboxSupport/status/179584566539984896">says</a> you should sign out and sign back in, and <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/XboxSupport/status/179583236031254529">suggests</a> you try re-downloading your profile if the issue persists.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/13/xbox-live-users-report-gamerscores-dropping-to-zero-ms-aware-of/">Xbox Live users report Gamerscores dropping to zero, MS aware of the issue [Update: potential fixes]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 13 Mar 2012 10:41:00 EST. Downloadable content will also receive more flexibility, doubling the potential Gamerscore procurement to 100, with up to eight Achievements allowed per quarter, with a max of four packs allowed over time.<br /><br />The new rules will apparently go into effect between April 1 and May 31, with titles launching during that time having the option of going by either the old or new system. According to the site, all games after June 1 will be required to follow the new rules. We've contacted Microsoft for confirmation of the details.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> <a href="http://majornelson.com/2012/03/12/xbox-live-arcade-gamerscore-policy-change/">Major Nelson</a> just posted a notice of the new policy.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/12/rumor-achievement-policy-changing-for-xbla-titles-raising-game/">Achievement policy changing for XBLA titles, raising Gamerscore allotment [update: confirmed]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 12 Mar 2012 11:15:00 EST. Ten new achievements for an unknown <em>Revelations </em>DLC pack were spotted by Xbox 360 Achievements, appearing to be for the single-player campaign. They include crossing the River Styx without dying, landing on a block after falling 25 meters, and "Breaking the Loop," one of two secret achievements.<br /><br />Ubisoft may be gearing up to release a new version of <em>Revelations</em>, as UK retailer Game briefly listed the Ottoman Edition (with "free downloadable content") and online market <a href="https://www.awx.co.za/shop/product/t/Gaming/s/Xbox+360+Games-83/p/75783-Assassin%27s+Creed%3A+Revelations+Ottoman+Edition.html">AWX</a> is advertising the same version with a release date of March 16, <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/336012/assassins-creed-revelations-getting-desmond-dlc-missions/">CVG</a> notes.<br /><br />The previous two DLC packs for <em>Revelations</em>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mediterranean-traveler">Mediterannean Traveler</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ancestors-character-pack/">Ancestors Character Pack</a>, have been multiplayer-centric. Perhaps the new DLC will bridge the gap between Desmond's <em>Revelations </em>arc and the new story -- not that he would need a <em>bridge</em>, but still.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/15/achievements-suggest-assassins-creed-revelations-single-player/">Achievements suggest Assassin's Creed: Revelations single-player DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 15 Feb 2012 19:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/13/the-simpsons-arcade-achievements-mention-inclusion-of-japanese/"><img border="1" hspace="4" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/01/simpsons113.jpg" vspace="4" /></a></center>
The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/09/the-simpsons-arcade-game-classified-in-australia/">XBLA adaptation</a> of Konami's <em>The Simpsons Arcade Game</em> has yet to be officially announced, but we're learning more details about it regardless. The Achievements have been spotted by <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/the-simpsons-arcade/achievements/">Xbox360Achievements</a> -- they include one called "Mr. Sparkle," which requires you to banish dirt to the land of wind and ghosts. Oh, wait, we read that wrong. It requires you to "make it to the stage 3 bosses in Survival Mode with the Japanese ROM."<br />
<br />
This suggests that the Japanese version of the arcade game is included. There are a few minor differences from the US release, according to <a href="http://hardcoregaming101.net/konamibeatemups/konamibeatemups.htm">HG101</a>: lower difficulty, more health items, more points, and the ability to jump while holding a weapon. The inclusion of that international version also suggests that developer Backbone is putting a bit of extra care into this update.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/13/the-simpsons-arcade-achievements-mention-inclusion-of-japanese/">The Simpsons Arcade achievements mention inclusion of 'Japanese ROM'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Jan 2012 20:30:00 EST. Like a first-day assassin recruit, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/assassins-creed-revelations/"><em>Assassin's Creed: Revelations</em></a> Achievements list isn't the best at hiding. With over a month to go until launch, it looks like players already have a good idea of what to expect from a majority of <em>Revelations</em>' Achievements -- that is, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/14/assassins-creed-brotherhood-trophies-spoil-mission-locations/">if they've played <em>Brotherhood</em></a>.<br />
<br />
The Achievements list is a healthy mix of story-based stuff and multiplayer, though a few are probably a bit spoilery, so click through at your own risk. You've been warned!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/17/assassins-creed-revelations-achievements-emerge-from-the-shado/">Assassin's Creed: Revelations Achievements emerge from the shadows</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 17 Oct 2011 19:00:00 EST. Two achievements make reference to a "Nightwing Bundle Pack," featuring a playable version of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightwing#Dick_Grayson">Nightwing</a> (the original Robin, Dick Grayson, all grown up).<br />
<br />
The (unofficial) reveal of Nightwing brings the playable cast to four, including Batman, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/21/batman-arkham-city-robin-playable/">Robin</a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/01/playable-catwoman-unmasked-in-batman-arkham-city/">Catwoman</a>, with Robin and Nightwing exclusive to downloadable content. If you're concerned about too many characters crowding out your brooding time as Batman, you can always ... just not get the DLC.<br />

We don't want to spoil <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3">Modern Warfare 3</a></em>, even though the idea that you're desperate to see how the narrative evolves is a touch ... naive on our part. Still, we're going to be very vague about the list of achievements for the game that just popped up on Xbox360Achievements.org.<br />
<br />
So, all we can say is that during <em>Modern Warfare 3</em> you'll "escape" three things and "destroy" four things. Oh, and six cheevos require "killing" things, so we know there will be some killing, in the <em>Call of Duty</em> game. Also? Two require "aesthetically-flawless cake frosting."<br />
<br />
No, no, that's not true. But there <em>is</em> killing.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/26/dig-into-the-modern-warfare-3-cheevos/">Dig into the Modern Warfare 3 cheevos</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Sep 2011 16:10:00 EST. Fear not, there's some good <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/24/gamestop-intentionally-removing-deus-ex-onlive-coupons-from-reta/">news</a> to report about <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/onlive">OnLive</a> today as well. CEO Steve Perlman told Joystiq about three new features that are live on the cloud-gaming service ... right now.<br />
<br />
Group voice chat allows users to specify "groups" of people, and maintain persistent chat sessions with them, even when they're playing different games, accessing menus, etc. It's even possible to send out an email from within the service inviting group members to chat.<br />
<br />
Second, parental controls will allow parents to set limits on the content their kids can play, along ESRB or PEGI lines, with the potential to fine-tune to allow individual games (in the case of, say, unrated indie games). "With a different account, if [parents] want," Perlman explained, "they can actually watch the kid playing, and chat with the kid, and so on." He clarified that, since the parent would presumably be in control of the child's account in the first place, a parent can limit spectating and chat to "friends."<br />
<br />
Finally, it's now possible for achievements to automatically post to a user's Facebook wall. OnLive will automatically record the ten seconds of gameplay up to that achievement, and post it as an HD "Brag Clip." "Facebook has been terrific to work on with this," Perlman said. "They actually made a couple of mods to their system -- because we're the first guys posting HD resolution videos nonstop over to Facebook. They're into it."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/24/onlive-adds-parental-controls-group-chat-facebook-achievement/">OnLive adds parental controls, group chat, Facebook achievement posting today</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 24 Aug 2011 14:07:00 EST. Twisted Pixel is known for its charming games, but something darker lurks just beneath the surface of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-gunstringer"><em>The Gunstringer</em></a>. Namely: there's a secret option on the Kinect shooter that makes it hate you. It's called "Hardcore Mode," and it sounds terrifying. Enemies shoot three times as much, health drops twice as quickly and traps spring from nowhere. Plus, if you die you'll have to head right back to the beginning of the game.<br />
<br />
Understand that when we tell you that there's a 50-point achievement for finishing a Hardcore run-through in one sitting called Strings of Steel, it's not so you'll go after it. In fact, it's actually so you'll do the exact opposite and pity those those lost souls who delved into the dark recesses of madness to claim it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/27/the-gunstringer-achievement-you-really-shouldnt-get/">The Gunstringer achievement you really shouldn't get</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 27 Jul 2011 16:00:00 EST. Much like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/08/resident-evil-code-veronica-x-hd-achievements-revealed/">the Achievements for <em>Code Veronica X HD</em></a>, the Achievements for <em>Resident Evil 4 HD</em> mostly revolve around story progression, save for two we're sure are going to give you a tough time. The "What are they worth?" and "The S stands for stylish!!" Achievements can be unlocked only after you acquire all bottlecaps and costumes, respectively.<br />
<br />
Succeeding in that doubly tough endeavor will get you 250 Gamerscore (out of the possible 1,000). And if there's something more important than imaginary points tied to one platform, <em>we don't wanna hear about it</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/14/resident-evil-4-hds-achievements-revealed/">Resident Evil 4 HD's Achievements revealed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 14 Jul 2011 23:00:00 EST. You've probably played <em>Resident Evil: Code Veronica</em> before. You might have played it on the Dreamcast, or the PS2. Heck, even the GameCube got in on the action. Those versions of the game, however, were all built on inferior technology and, this fall, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/resident-evil-revival-selection"><em>Code Veronica X HD</em></a> will raise the bar to a completely new level.<br />
<br />
No, we're not talking about high definition visuals, we're talking about <em>Achievements</em>. Thanks to its status <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/24/resident-evil-4-code-veronica-hd-downloads/">as a Games on Demand title</a>, the Xbox 360 download of <em>Code Veronica</em> will receive the benefit of a <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/resident-evil-code-veronica-x-hd/achievements/">full 1000 gamerscore</a>. Most of the cheevos are story-driven, so it should be an easy bag of points.<br />
<br />
Now, if only modern technology could do something about <em><a href="http://residentevil.wikia.com/Steve_Burnside">Steve</a></em>...<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/08/resident-evil-code-veronica-x-hd-achievements-revealed/">Resident Evil: Code Veronica X HD Achievements revealed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Jul 2011 12:25:00 EST. The good folks over at XBLAFans have <a href="http://www.xblafans.com/trenched-unlock-and-level-guide-19203.html">assembled a guide featuring everything</a> you need to know about <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/trenched"><em>Trenched</em></a>, Double Fine's excellent shooter/tower defense/World War I/mech mashup title on XBLA. From the Achievements to all of the various unlockable mech parts and soldier gear you can find in the game, this guide has you covered. They've even put <a href="http://www.xblafans.com/trenched-europe-beach-map-guide-17581.html">some maps together</a> on each of the game's levels, so you can figure out exactly where and when you want to put defenses down against each incoming wave.<br />
<br />
In other words, if you've got questions about anything in the game, the answers are right there. Now, as for any possible DLC ... well, there is going to be DLC, right, Double Fine?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/08/trenched-guide-will-help-you-dig-in-against-the-monovision/">Trenched guide will help you dig in against the Monovision</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Jul 2011 01:00:00 EST. If you got yourself a golden Lancer or Hammerburst (or both) in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/gears-of-war-2"><em>Gears of War 2</em></a>, worry not about your bling when <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/gears-of-war-3"><em>Gears of War 3</em></a> launches on September 20 -- they'll transfer over, Epic producer Rod Fergusson told <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2011/06/24/gears-of-war-3-unlocks-for-playing-past-gears-games-detailed-by-epic/">MTV Multiplayer</a>. Other unlockables tied to older <em>Gears of War </em>games will mainly revolve around Achievements.<br />
<br />
"If you did something in <em>Gears</em> PC you get a chrome skin, if you did something in <em>Gears 2</em> you get a chrome skin. The chrome set is sort of our thank you to people who played our games in the past." Fergusson also hinted at an incentive for those who've hit level 100 and unlocked the Veteran Gear Achievement in <em>Gears 2</em>, though he wouldn't provide exact details on what having that Achievement would mean in <em>Gears 3</em>.<br />
<br />
Better get cracking if you're looking to get that "Seriously" Achievement in the original <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gears-of-war"><em>Gears of War</em></a>!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/25/gears-of-war-3-grants-extra-goodies-to-previous-gears-players/">Gears of War 3 grants extra goodies to previous Gears players</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 25 Jun 2011 10:30:00 EST. If you can't wait until <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/23/new-dragon-age-2-dlc-mass-effect-3-demo-playable-at-comic-con/">Comic-Con</a> to see what's coming next for <em>Dragon Age 2 </em>DLC, or if you're one of the people on Earth who can't make it to Comic-Con (most of 'em), you can get an early glimpse of the future now, thanks to <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/dragon-age-2/achievements/">Xbox360Achievements</a>.<br />
<br />
The site has posted a list of achievements for the "Legacy" DLC, which we suppose could constitute spoilers for content nobody knew about. Judging by the Achievements, you'll be spending the majority of this episode in the Vimmark Mountains. Do those sound removed enough from the city of Kirkwall?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/24/dragon-age-2-legacy-dlc-achievements-spotted/">Dragon Age 2 'Legacy' DLC Achievements spotted</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 Jun 2011 16:50:00 EST. If you found <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/28/game-designer-writes-academic-report-on-effective-achievements/">the first part</a> of PhD researcher and game designer Lucas Blair's study on effective Achievements as interesting as we did, you'll want to check out the recently published second installment over on <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/6375/the_cake_is_not_a_lie_how_to_.php?page=1">Gamasutra</a>. While the first article focused on implementing satisfying, compelling carrots in games, this second piece looks more at the more metaphysical components of in-game rewards. For instance, when should Achievements unlock? Once they do, should they be permanent?<br />
<br />
Much like the series' first installment, it's definitely worth a read, but take caution: You're going to spend longer than you might like playing its anecdotal Flash game, <a href="http://armorgames.com/play/2893/achievement-unlocked"><em>Achievement Unlocked</em></a>. Reader beware!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/12/phd-researcher-takes-second-academic-look-at-achievements/">PhD researcher takes second academic look at Achievements</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 12 May 2011 05:30:00 EST. Game designer and PhD researcher Lucas Blair recently <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/6360/the_cake_is_not_a_lie_how_to_.php">penned an article</a> that should enrapture the attention of the Gamerscore boosters and Trophy-fiends among you. It's a thorough examination of the different kinds of rewards developers can include in their titles, mixed in with a few suggestions for best practices to ensure said rewards are ... well, <em>reward</em>-ing.<br />
<br />
There are a number of interesting comparisons in the report between the dichotomous design philosophies most developers adhere to. For instance: Should achievements be performance-based, or completion-based? Should they reward boring tasks, or interesting tasks -- which the player's likely to do without the incentive. How difficult should achievements be to unlock? It's a pretty thought-provoking read -- though, really, we think <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/18/new-avatar-game-awards-1-000-gamerpoints-in-two-minutes/"><em>Avatar: The Burning Earth</em></a> set the best example for Achievements a few years ago. <em>Just give us those points</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/28/game-designer-writes-academic-report-on-effective-achievements/">Game designer writes academic report on effective Achievements</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Apr 2011 10:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/minecraft"><em>Minecraft</em></a>'s Update 1.5 looks to be one of the beefiest additions to the game to date, adding weather effects, a statistics page and a whole mess of achievements to the cuboid, world-building indie gem. Good news, fans of the delightful, physics-based iOS puzzler <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/cut-the-rope">Cut the Rope</a></em>! (Or, rather, bad news, if you had things you needed to do today.) An update is now available to the ZeptoLab-developed hit which adds 25 new levels as part of the "Magic Box," and also adds three new Game Center achievements. The new gameplay mechanic this time around is top hats, which serve as portals for your tethered confections -- much like the stockings featured in <em>Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift</em>.<br />
<br />
To celebrate the new levels, Chillingo has constructed two massive playable demo stations featuring nine touch screens a piece. If you've got business at Los Angeles' Hollywood &amp; Highland Center or Atlanta International Airport, keep an eye out for these big, beautiful displays -- it's likely to be the most satisfying rope-cutting you ever do.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/08/cut-the-rope-gets-new-magic-box-gigantic-playable-demo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cut the Rope gets new 'Magic Box,' gigantic playable demo</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/08/cut-the-rope-gets-new-magic-box-gigantic-playable-demo/">Cut the Rope gets new 'Magic Box,' gigantic playable demo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Apr 2011 16:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/33527/InDepth_Where_Are_They_Going_Now_XBLIG_Developers_At_A_Crossroads.php">Gamasutra</a> rounded up six of the <em>precious few</em> standout developers of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbox-live-indie-games/">Xbox Live Indie Games </a>(XBLIG) to discuss the continually promising but frequently <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/05/explosionade-dev-delaying-release-until-xblm-is-less-broken/">embattled</a> platform. Camille Guermonprez of Arkedo Studios praised XBLIG as "fast and easy to use" and Xona Games' Matthew Doucette noted that "development is essentially free in terms of fees" (just an annual $120 membership); before he warned that additional "developer and game content expenses can be massive to a start-up."<br />

Indeed, none of these indies has struck gold -- certainly not like the top devs are finding on the App Store -- and three of the six are at least temporarily abandoning XBLIG, while the others have expanded to multiplatform development. "[To] stay only on XBLIG makes no financial sense at the moment," Doucette said.<br />
<br />
When asked what improvements could be made to the platform, Luke Schneider of Radian Games' echoed the majority when he said that "the biggest issue is definitely Achievements" -- or lack thereof.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/18/achievements-top-on-xbox-live-indie-devs-wish-lists/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Achievements top on Xbox Live Indie devs' wish lists</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/18/achievements-top-on-xbox-live-indie-devs-wish-lists/">Achievements top on Xbox Live Indie devs' wish lists</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Mar 2011 22:00:00 EST. The downloadable app, available through March 27, consists of a series of network tests, during which you won't be able to run games or movies.<br />
<br />
What do you get for your time, besides a potentially improved online service? Each completed test will award a unique zero-point Achievement and an item of Avatar clothing, including a lab coat, brain helmet, or mad scientist hair, even though this science seems pretty mellow.<br />
<br />
You can find Xbox Live Labs in the community channel.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/10/xbox-live-labs-do-it-for-science-do-it-for-avatar-items/">Xbox Live Labs: Do it for science, do it for avatar items</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Mar 2011 09:45:00 EST. The future features of cloud-based gaming service <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/onlive">OnLive</a> got a little less nebulous during the company's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gdc-2011">GDC 2011</a> panel. Speaking to developers, its VP of engineering, Joe Bentley, laid out a list of advancements gamers can expect by the end of the year.<br />
<br />
Among the new features being rolled out for game makers to implement are achievements (not detailed, but we're guessing these are derived from the console versions), voice chat, game invites and the ability to directly upload Brag Clips to YouTube.<br />
<br />
The latest version of the OnLive SDK will also enable developers to let their games support wireless controllers when played on mobile devices such as iPad, iPhone and Android-powered contraptions. (But not <em>actual</em> androids -- those guys <em>hate</em> it when you press their buttons.)<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/onlive-roadmap-achievements-voice-chat-and-more-inbound/">OnLive roadmap: Achievements, voice chat and more inbound</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Mar 2011 08:45:00 EST. All fifty of <em>Portal 2's</em> Achievements have been uncovered by <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/portal-2/achievements/">Xbox360Achievements.org</a>. In typical Valve fashion, there are some comedic gems in the list, like "The Part Where He Kills You," and some in-jokes, including "Narbacular Drop" and, yes, "Still Alive." But one Achievement is <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/ft2hx/portal_2_to_link_directly_into_halflife_2_episode/">generating</a> some real buzz: "<a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/portal-2/achievement/51201-Ship-Overboard.html">Ship Overboard</a>" has players discovering "the missing experiment."<br />
<br />
Some have suggested that this Achievement is a possible reference to the Borealis, an Aperture Science vessel first mentioned in <em>Half-Life 2: Episode Two</em>. In the brief scene (embedded after the break), Isaac Kleiner notes that the Borealis contains some kind of technology that can help humanity. Could <em>Portal 2</em> tie into the final <em>Half-Life 2</em> episode? Or are overeager fans simply grasping at nothing? April 20 can't come <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/18/portal-2-delayed-until-april-18-2011/">soon enough</a>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/28/portal-2-achievement-invites-half-life-2-ep-3-conspiracy-theory/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Portal 2 Achievement invites Half-Life 2: Ep 3 conspiracy theory</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/28/portal-2-achievement-invites-half-life-2-ep-3-conspiracy-theory/">Portal 2 Achievement invites Half-Life 2: Ep 3 conspiracy theory</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Feb 2011 13:00:00 EST. <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/minecraft"><em>Minecraft</em></a> has already cemented its place as one of the best sandbox games of all time, but sometimes you need a little narrative with your creative impulses. Don't worry -- there's a solution for you: achievements. In <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/33220/Interview_Markus_Persson_On_Bringing_Achievements_to_Minecraft.php">an interview with Gamasutra</a>, <em>Minecraft</em> creator Markus "Notch" Persson says that achievements are one way he could add a little narrative structure to the title, by rewarding players for doing certain things in the game in a certain order (starting by chopping down a tree, for example, and moving on to "killing a dragon or something").<br />
<br />
Notch also says he's still surprised by all the interest in the game, both his own and that of players, who've actually turned up in greater numbers after he recently decided to raise the price. Also, while he does agree that <em>Minecraft</em> could be ported to other platforms at some point and "become a franchise," he warns that, "if we make an Xbox version there should be a point to it being on Xbox."<br />
<br />
Sounds reasonable enough. Hopefully if he does go with the achievement model, we'll get a nice big reward for <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnjSWPxJxNs">"Burning Down the House."</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/25/notch-suggests-minecraft-achievements-console-ports-in-the-futu/">Notch suggests Minecraft achievements, console ports in the future</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 Feb 2011 21:00:00 EST. A new DLC pack for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/need-for-speed-hot-pursuit"><em>Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit</em></a> will deal with the eternal struggle between Porsche and Lamborghini, it seems. The 1.2 patch for the game reportedly brings with it several new Achievements and Trophies, accidentally discovered by one of <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-02-16-nfs-hot-pursuit-patch-1-02-suggests-dlc">Eurogamer</a>'s readers -- since then, <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/need-for-speed-hot-pursuit/achievements/">Xbox 360 Achievements</a> has posted a full list of the new Achievements. <br />
<br />
It's pretty compelling evidence. The Achievements list cites specific events geared around the Porsche and Lamborghini. Also, this shouldn't be confused with EA's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/26/watch-a-need-for-speed-hot-pursuit-trailer-help-unlock-free-dlc/">previous marketing stunt</a> to give users DLC for the game which, it seems, is still ongoing.<br />
<br />
We've contacted EA for comment and will let you know what we find out.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/16/nfs-hot-pursuit-patch-achievements-hint-at-porsche-vs-lamborg/">NFS: Hot Pursuit patch, Achievements hint at Porsche vs. Lamborghini DLC pack</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Feb 2011 23:30:00 EST. You may want to go into <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dragon-age-2">Dragon Age 2</a></em> without knowing every major plot point that will unfold. After all, not everyone is an Achievement-obsessed husk of a human looking to have what stands to be one of the most epic tales of 2011 ruined. For the rest of us: find what you desire after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/09/dragon-age-2-achievements-posted/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dragon Age 2 Achievements posted</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/09/dragon-age-2-achievements-posted/">Dragon Age 2 Achievements posted</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 09 Feb 2011 01:00:00 EST. If you picked up <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dead-rising-2-case-west"><em>Dead Rising 2: Case West</em></a> and are having a problem getting the "Handy Man" Achievement, which requires building all the new weapons in the DLC, it may not necessarily be that you're missing something. <a href="http://www.xblafans.com/dead-rising-2-case-west-weapon-combo-guide-4567.html">XBLA Fans</a>, in its <em>"DR2: Case West</em> Weapons Combo Guide," notes that the "Handy Man" requires players build <em>only</em> the seven new weapons in the game. Apparently, if you create any other weapons before those seven, you'll have to move the save file to another device or delete it.<br />

Given the slow, slow drip its developers have had us on since the game was first announced, the recent release of <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/marvel-vs-capcom-3/achievements/">the Achievement list</a> for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/marvel-vs-capcom-3-fate-of-two-worlds"><em>Marvel vs. Capcom 3</em></a> represents one of the biggest info bombs we've been hit with so far. While the list doesn't do much to confirm any rumored characters (though the "Fate of the Satsui no Hadou" certainly seems to hint at the inclusion of Ryu's near-clones, Ken and Akuma), it does reveal some features which have made it into the final cut of the game.<br />
<br />
For instance, the "Combat Specialist" Achievement mentions a player level progression system, while "A New Avenger" and "Passed the Field Test" reference a Mission mode, which will <em>presumably</em> assist in the aforementioned progression system. Check out the full list of Cheevos after the break for more even speculation fodder.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/23/marvel-vs-capcom-3-achievements-tease-progression-system-missi/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Achievements tease progression system, Mission mode</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/23/marvel-vs-capcom-3-achievements-tease-progression-system-missi/">Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Achievements tease progression system, Mission mode</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 Dec 2010 10:54:00 EST. We've heard some horror stories about the arduous nature of the Xbox Live certification process, but <em>whoa man</em>, this is a little excessive. Do you guys remember back when they made a video game interpretation of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/ghostbusters-the-video-game"><em>Ghostbusters</em></a> franchise like, a hundred years ago? Well, the 360 version of that game had some niggling issues preventing users from unlocking four of the game's multiplayer Achievements -- issues that were <a href="http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=163869953650722&amp;id=112352399784">fixed in a patch</a> which went live earlier this week, some <em>eighteen months</em> after the game's initial release.<br />
<br />
Of course, we're only assuming the certification process is to blame for the patch's late arrival. Maybe it just took that long for developer Terminal Reality to fix these problems. Or maybe Slimer was up to his old tricks, delaying the dev team with his incorporeal shenanigans.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/03/xbox-360-ghostbusters-patch-fixes-broken-achievements/">Xbox 360 Ghostbusters patch fixes broken Achievements</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 Dec 2010 14:30:00 EST. The only <em>slightly</em> avid gamer <a href="http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/profile.aspx?pp=0&amp;GamerTag=Stallion83">Stallion83</a> (we can only assume Stallion1 through 82 died due to severe thumb inflammation) is half-way to his goal of achieving one million Gamerscore on Xbox 360, having hit the 500,000 mark in Achievement points on Friday. The (long) journey to the half-million milestone began in "early 2006," according to <a href="http://www.1milliongamerscore.com/2010/10/500000-gamerscore.html">his blog</a>, and ended by unlocking the "Tournament of Chumps" cheevo in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/Wallace-and-Gromits-Grand-Adventures"><em>Wallace &amp; Gromit's Grand Adventures</em></a> for XBLA. (In the fourth episode, "The Bogey Man," specifically.)<br />
<br />
You can see a replay of the moment in the video we've popped in after the break. As for one million Gamerscore, Stallion83 writes that, "It's going to be a long process getting to 1,000,000, but hopefully I can make it there someday." Best of luck, and we'll be sure to post about your descendant, Stallion166, when he makes it!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/17/the-guy-with-the-half-million-gamerscore/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The guy with the half-million Gamerscore</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/17/the-guy-with-the-half-million-gamerscore/">The guy with the half-million Gamerscore</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 17 Oct 2010 19:30:00 EST. This week's <a href="http://www.bungie.net/news/content.aspx?type=topnews&amp;cid=28836">Bungie.net news update</a> brought with it more than just info about <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/halo-reach">Halo: Reach</a></em>'s Xbox Live stats -- it also featured a couple of screens showing an extra 10 Achievements and 250 Gamerscore for the just released title. In a segment explaining how to install the game to the 360's hard drive, two screens can be clearly seen with the adjusted Gamerscore and 'Cheevo count (1250 up from 1000 Gamerscore and 59 up from 49 Achievements).<br />
<br />
Bungie doesn't directly address the changes in its update, instead hinting at "some new stuff" being added in a "potential second October update." Unfortunately, this hint is dropped right after talk of the regular housekeeping performed on <em>Halo</em> multiplayer, so it's unclear what's being hinted at directly. <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/halo-3">Halo 3</a></em> was eventually lavished with an astonishing <em>1750 Gamerscore</em> when all was said and done, so the idea of an extra 250 doesn't seem like much of a <em>reach</em> if you ask us.<br />
<br />

If you choose to throw your cautious attitude towards avoiding <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fable-iii"><em>Fable 3</em></a> spoilers to the wind by checking out the <a href="http://inside.mygamercard.net/2010/09/20/rule-these-fable-iii-achievements/">list of Achievements</a> posted after the jump, you'll find a mix of accomplishments both old and new. Some reward gameplay mechanics that have been present in all iterations of the franchise, such as digging and ... um, cross-dressing. The Achievement hunters among you are going to be in for some awkward, awkward conversations when <em>Fable 3</em> launches October 26.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/20/fable-3-achievements-feature-the-familiar-and-the-strange/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fable 3 Achievements feature the familiar and the strange</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/20/fable-3-achievements-feature-the-familiar-and-the-strange/">Fable 3 Achievements feature the familiar and the strange</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 Sep 2010 16:00:00 EST. Not only is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/15/an-original-rts-on-wii-its-swords-and-soldiers/">the WiiWare title</a> <em>Swords and Soldiers</em> coming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/16/swords-and-soldiers-coming-to-psn-this-fall-published-by-sony-onl/">to PSN</a>, but Ronimo Games has also commanded it to attack the PC. The 2D real-time strategy combat title will offer up all of the levels and features of the other versions, but will offer mouse control and include Steam Achievements as well.<br />
<br />
No release date nor pricing has been announced, but we're assured all of that is coming soon. We're going to call this one good news -- <a href="http://joystiq.com/games/swords-and-soldiers"><em>Swords and Soldiers</em></a> was a good addition to the Wii's downloadable lineup, and it'll be nice to let a bigger audience get a good look at this original title.<br />

There isn't much we can do to help you get <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/28/fallout-new-vegas-is-progressing-robot-human-relations/">the potential human-robo love</a> in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fallout-new-vegas">Fallout: New Vegas</a> </em>off your mind -- believe us, we've<span style="font-style: italic;"> </span><em>struggled</em> with it ourselves, attempting to wrestle it from our mind's eye like a grease-covered bear. There's a bit of a rash of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/10/modern-warfare-2-glitch-unlocks-five-snk-xbla-games/">games breaking other games</a> or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/14/users-report-magic-the-gathering-expansion-pack-2-dlc-breaks/">DLC breaking games</a> these days, especially <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/12/metro-2033-update-preventing-achievements-thq-investigating/">when it comes to Achievements</a>. Issues like these often leave a lot of people asking, "Where's my refund?" but, as my colleague Alexander pointed out, no one really knows where to direct that question, if anywhere.<br />
<br />
Downloadable content isn't something you can simply take back to GameStop or sell on eBay. And even if you know where to ask, can you get a refund for broken content? That's the issue we'll set out to resolve in this <em>LGJ</em>. To examine this, let's imagine a hypothetical: You buy <em>"Fabled Halos"</em> from the Xbox Live Marketplace, and at a later date, you buy the "Broken Code" expansion DLC. Broken Code not only causes <em>Fabled Halos</em> Achievements to stop working, but it also causes save game glitches with another title, <em>Fallin: New Scottsdale,</em> and somehow gives you access to the full version of yet another game <em>Fortress Fighters</em>. You're mad. The developer of<em> Fortress Fighters</em> is mad. Whose fault is this and who has obligations to fix what?<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/31/lgj-wheres-my-refund/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>LGJ: Where's my refund?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/31/lgj-wheres-my-refund/">LGJ: Where's my refund?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 31 Aug 2010 18:00:00 EST. THQ's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/05/metro-2033-has-been-very-profitable-for-thq-ceo-says/">sleeper subway hit</a>, <em>Metro 2033, </em>was patched recently in support of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/30/metro-2033-ranger-pack-dlc-coming-to-steam-and-xblm-next-week/">"Ranger Pack" DLC</a>, but it appears the update clashed with how the game tracks Achievements. Conflicted <a href="http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?p=3396375&amp;posted=1#post3396375">reports</a> suggest the patch prevents all Achievements in the game, or simply the ones from the Ranger Pack -- either way, it's still a problem in need of a correction. According to the official <a href="http://twitter.com/metro2033"><em>Metro 2033</em> Twitter account</a>, the publisher has been aware of the problem since <a href="http://twitter.com/Metro2033/status/20221879850">August 3</a>, most recently acknowledging the situation on <a href="http://twitter.com/Metro2033/status/20402996810">August 5</a> as something on Microsoft's end. <br />
<br />
In a statement to Joystiq, a THQ representative said, "We are aware of some users experiencing issues with achievements for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/metro-2033"><em>Metro 2033</em></a>'s Ranger Pack DLC. We are currently investigating this issue with Microsoft and expect to have a resolution shortly." The representative added that the company should have something more concrete to share in "the coming days."<br />

The shambling, groaning launch of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dead-rising-2"><em>Dead Rising 2</em></a> may still be over a month away, but that doesn't mean eager players can't start planning their zombie assaults <em>now</em>. Capcom has <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/jgonzo/blog/2010/08/02/dead_rising_2_fortune_city_map_revealed">released</a> a map of Fortune City, complete with a handy list of the various shops and locations littered about. A few locations <em>guaranteed</em> to house convenient implements of zombie death: SporTrance, KokoNutz Sports Town, High-Noon Shooting Range and, of course, Army Surplus Gift Store. Unfortunately, we're not seeing any cutlery stores on this thing, which could make the search for a katana a little difficult.<br />
<br />
In other zombie slaughtering news, <a href="http://www.360sync.com/2010/08/02/exclusive-dead-rising-2-case-zero-achievements">360Sync</a> has revealed the Achievements for the <em>Dead Rising 2</em> prequel, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dead-rising-2-case-zero"><em>Case Zero</em></a>. Said Achievements are rewarded for building weapons, spending money at the pawn shop and, naturally, killing zombies.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/03/dead-rising-2-fortune-city-map-unveiled/">Dead Rising 2 Fortune City map unveiled</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Aug 2010 12:45:00 EST.
