The narrator of this LittleBigPlanet seems to be channeling Donny from You Suck At Photoshop, but that only adds to the humor. We've enjoyed this advertising campaign. Hopefully it'll get quite a few people to stop and think "huh, that looks interesting." The game deserves massive sales throughout the Christmas season.<br /><br />We've not actually seen the adverts on telly yet, but a number of you guys have commented saying you've seen them. If you have any anecdotes about non-gamers' reactions to the ads, let us know. It's available to watch right now, just above these here words. We think this one is better than yesterday's, if only because it has giant monster rockstars and a flaming mosh pit. Awesome. SCEE promises that they've saved the best one for last, though, so check back tomorrow to see it. So far we're enjoying these adverts and reckon they will definitely turn some heads in between commercials for car insurance and fairy liquid.<br /><br />Play with everythiiiiiiing!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/06/second-littlebigplanet-european-tv-spot-revealed/">Second LittleBigPlanet European TV spot revealed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 Nov 2008 07:15:00 EST. Check this out. It's the first European advert for <em>LittleBigPlanet</em>, which finally saw its release in the region this week. This thirty second TV spot focuses on the potential of the Create mode in a family context. There are two more TV spots to be revealed later this week, though there's no word on when they're going to be broadcast or on what channels. All we know is that they're Europe-wide, though some regions will likely localize them. We'll have the others for you as soon as SCEE sends them our way.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/05/first-of-three-european-littlebigplanet-tv-spots-revealed/">First of three European LittleBigPlanet TV spots revealed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 05 Nov 2008 07:00:00 EST. How do we know? Because they're throwing a lot of money into advertising the game. $10 million, to be exact, all in the hopes that you'll want to hit the virtual slopes with Shaun and the gang.<br /><br />The campaign started last night, where <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ubisoft">Ubisoft</a> purchased all of the ad space on the season premiere of popular television show <em>South Park</em>. That's not it, either, as it's being reported that Shaun White will make appearances on ESPN shows on November 16th to promote the game. In addition to that, Ubisoft is also purchasing air time on select Viacom channels with the purpose of promoting <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/shaun-white-snowboarding"><em>Shaun White Snowboarding</em></a>.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/09/ubisoft-really-wants-you-to-buy-shaun-white-snowboarding/">Ubisoft really wants you to buy Shaun White Snowboarding</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 09 Oct 2008 15:30:00 EST. <br />Well done, Nintendo. If you hoped this fourth wall-shattering commercial for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wario-land-shake-it"><em>Wario Land: Shake It!</em></a> would make the blog rounds, then you succeeded. We don't usually post about media of games that are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/22/retail-and-download-releases-for-the-week-of-september-22nd/">already on store shelves</a>, but this was just too good to pass on. We can't really say much more for fear of spoiling the surprise involved, so click <a href="http://www.youtube.com/experiencewii">here</a> and get watching. But come back, please. Like, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/06/promotional-consideration-commercial-of-duty/">this one</a>. With the title due for release in Japan on the 26th of this month, Nintendo is putting on its marketing hat and showing a new ad to Japanese gamers.<br /><br />Nintendo has enlisted the aid of Japanese celeb Thelma Aoyama to help them promote the title. If you're clueless as to who she is, then you probably don't live in Japan and should check out <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thelma_Aoyama">this Wikipedia page</a>.<br /><br />Sadly, like most Japanese advertisements, this one is way too short and doesn't show enough gameplay.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/12/band-brothers-dx-enlists-japanese-celebrity-for-commercial/">Band Brothers DX enlists Japanese celebrity for commercial</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 12 Jun 2008 13:15:00 EST. Everyone and their grandmother has at least 4 DS Lites and 4 copies of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/brain-age"><em>Brain Age</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/27/brain-age-2-to-pop-up-in-unlikely-places/"><em>Brain Age 2</em></a> to accompany their handhelds, so what could this accomplish? Does the thing even need to be advertised, even on the web?<br /><br />Then again, we thought that perhaps thinking about advertising is a wasted effort. If you're anything like us, you're too busy playing with one of your DS Lites to watch television. So let's switch gears.<br /><br />If you were in charge of creating an advertising campaign for the DS, what would it be like? Would you sell out and have a commercial starring <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDUQW8LUMs8">Chuck Norris</a>? Would you travel to a small, mid-west town and hand out bundles to all the folk residing within?<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/21/ds-daily-marketing-the-product/">DS Daily: Marketing the product</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 May 2008 08:00:00 EST. Aside from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/22/mario-kart-ditches-wii-would-like-to-play-for-cowboy-jed/">advertising in the United States</a>, another region important to sales of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mario-kart-wii"><em>Mario Kart Wii</em></a> is Japan, Nintendo's native country. As such, the gaming giant has enlisted the aid of Japanese celebrities to help hock their wares onto the gaming populace. Apparently, there's a lot of folks out there looking to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/20/u-s-boxart-for-wii-fit-celebrates-diversity/">tone up their life with <em>Wii Fit</em></a>. That's what Michael Pachter thinks, as he predicts a whopping 3-4 million copies of <em>Wii Fit</em> being sold in <em>this year alone</em>. That's a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/24/rumor-wii-fit-to-lighten-american-wallets-by-90/">$90 package</a> that he expects between 3 and 4 million folks to buy. Wow.<br /><br />"Wii Fit will sell 3 million to 4 million in the US if they market aggressively," Pachter said. Well, if Pachter read Wii Fanboy, he'd know that they <em>are</em> putting <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/21/nintendo-plans-largest-ever-marketing-campaign-for-wii-fit/">a lot into their marketing</a> of the game. And, if Pachter's lack of reading game blogs are any indication, the man is woefully under-prepared to make <em>any kind of prediction</em>.<br /><br /><br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/news/6188640.html">Gamespot</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/02/pachter-says-3-4-million-for-wii-fit-in-2008/">Pachter says 3-4 million for Wii Fit in 2008</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Apr 2008 12:00:00 EST. So, sit back, relax and catch an eye full of <em>Brawl </em>goodness in one of the spots above, then head past the break for some more.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/16/japan-to-run-plenty-of-ads-for-smash-bros-brawl/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Japan to run plenty of ads for Smash Bros. <em>Ghost Squad</em>, as we've already <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/10/ghost-squad-stands-out-from-the-crowd/">seen</a>, is not afraid of being <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/30/dolphintastic-video-of-ghost-squad/">different</a>. It's also not afraid of standing up for itself and picking on bigger games, when the need arises; games such as the <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/">PlayStation 3</a>'s <em>Resistance: Fall of Man</em>. The print advert above, for example, has been seen in various German magazines in recent weeks. And if we were being completely honest, we'd <em>totally</em> buy <em>Resistance: Fall of Mandy</em>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=33308">Go Nintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/14/ghost-squad-advert-has-ps3-shooter-in-its-sights/">Ghost Squad advert has PS3 shooter in its sights</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 Jan 2008 19:00:00 EST. While <em>Uncharted</em> might be Sony America's greatest hope in order to increase PS3 sales this Christmas, Europe has one other PS3 champion that could perform a similar function. <em>Singstar</em> is a hilariously successful PS2 franchise which will no doubt prove a success on the PS3 as well, with its downloadable songs and online user generated content. <br /><br />It's no surprise, then, that Sony has arranged a TV advertising campaign just in time for Christmas. The full TV spot can be seen above and we expect to see 20 to 30 chunks of it being shown inbetween all our favourite programs. Will it be enough to persuade casual gamers to part with their cash and pick up a PS3 this December? We're certainly intrigued to find out.<br /><br />[Thanks, mike!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/20/european-singstar-advert-found-on-youtube/">European Singstar advert found on YouTube</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 20 Nov 2007 08:30:00 EST.
