We've seen plenty of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/shin-megami-tensei-4"><em>Shin Megami Tensei 4</em></a> in Japanese, so here's a better, albeit brief look at how the upcoming 3DS RPG looks and sounds in English. North America passed the rite to receive the Atlus game on July 16, while Europe is still waiting in the wings with a summer release window. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/16/shin-megami-tensei-4-trailer-is-definitely-going-to-be-a-samurai/">Shin Megami Tensei 4 trailer is definitely going to be a samurai</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 16 May 2013 04:00:00 EST. Atlus released the sixth character trailer for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dragons-crown"><em>Dragon's Crown</em></a> today, and it features the Amazon - remember when you saw that word and thought of female warriors rather than online deals? What <em>this</em> Amazon lacks in outerwear (or anywear), she makes up for with brute strength.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/11/dragons-crown-introduces-the-amazon/">Dragon's Crown introduces the Amazon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 11 May 2013 03:30:00 EST. Folks who pre-order Vanillaware and Atlus' forthcoming 2D hack-and-slash game, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dragons-crown">Dragon's Crown</a>, </em>will also receive a 64-page limited edition art book for their troubles. The paperback tome includes character and environmental artwork by <em>Dragon's Crown</em> designer/artist/Vanillaware president George Kamitani, in addition to pieces by other Japanese video game artists, such as Capcom alumnus Kinu Nishimura and Akira Yasuda.<br />
<br />
Atlus has also revealed the game's North American box art, which does a good job of obfuscating the art design's more <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/12/dragons-crown-trailer-shows-a-bit-too-much-of-the-sorceress/">controversial</a> aspects. <em>Dragon's Crown</em> will drop for PlayStation 3 and Vita August 6, at $49.99 and $39.99 respectively.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dragons-crown-art-book-and-box-art/">Dragon's Crown (Art Book and Box Art)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dragons-crown-art-book-and-box-art/#5870583"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/dcartcover_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dragons-crown-art-book-and-box-art/#5870584"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/drgcrwps3rp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dragons-crown-art-book-and-box-art/#5870585"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/drgvitarp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/09/dragons-crown-pre-orders-get-this-art-book/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dragon's Crown pre-orders get this art book</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/09/dragons-crown-pre-orders-get-this-art-book/">Dragon's Crown pre-orders get this art book</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 09 May 2013 21:00:00 EST. If you've been wondering what Draco Malfoy's been up to since his Hogwarts days, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dragons-crown"><em>Dragon's Crown</em></a> has the answer. He's grown his hair out and broadened his repertoire in the upcoming PS3/Vita beat-em-up, but he's clearly gone overboard on the bleach. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/03/dragons-crown-spells-out-the-wizard/">Dragon's Crown spells out the Wizard</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 May 2013 22:45:00 EST. These new trailers for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dragons-crown">Dragon's Crown</a>'s</em> Fighter and Sorceress classes are in English, which is a change from the predominantly Japanese footage we've seen so far, but honestly trailers for this game could be in Esperanto and you'd still be able to get the gist of what's going down: <em>Skeleton murder</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/03/dragons-crown-trailers-speak-english-not-that-it-matters/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dragon's Crown trailers speak English, not that it matters</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/03/dragons-crown-trailers-speak-english-not-that-it-matters/">Dragon's Crown trailers speak English, not that it matters</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 May 2013 01:00:00 EST. <div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/02/atlus-and-the-dos-and-do-not-dos-of-rpg-remakes/"><img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/01/soulhackers.jpg" /></a></div>
In recent years, Atlus' string of portable-bound RPG remakes has done an excellent job of showing off the developer's history with video games before the breakout success of Persona. Yes, if you're the type of person inclined to read a column dedicated to Japanese RPGs, you might be thinking, "Breakout success? But I've loved Atlus for years!" If that's true, then you probably remember an ugly past, making mandatory reservations thanks to the tiny quantities of Atlus games that once trickled into your local Gamestop - if they did at all - and the wallet-destroying eBay markups greeting those who didn't go to Herculean lengths just to buy a retail product.<br />
<br />
As a result of the developer's growing fame, we're now seeing the release of games we only dreamed about playing in the 90s, and Atlus has tried their best to replicate the experiences we would have had back then - for better or worse.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-summoner-soul-hackers-4-11-13/">Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers (4/11/13)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-summoner-soul-hackers-4-11-13/#5806253"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/soulhackersscreenshots-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-summoner-soul-hackers-4-11-13/#5806254"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/soulhackersscreenshots-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-summoner-soul-hackers-4-11-13/#5806255"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/soulhackersscreenshots-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-summoner-soul-hackers-4-11-13/#5806256"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/soulhackersscreenshots-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-summoner-soul-hackers-4-11-13/#5806257"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/soulhackersscreenshots-6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/02/the-spoils-of-atlus-rpgs/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The spoils of Atlus RPGs</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/02/the-spoils-of-atlus-rpgs/">The spoils of Atlus RPGs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 02 May 2013 19:15:00 EST. The Atlus dungeon crawler, originally released for the Sega Saturn in 1997, will in turn reach Europe for the first time in around a few months time.<br /><br />NIS America also confirmed to us a concrete European release date for Imageepoch PS3 RPG <em>Time and Eternity</em>: June 28. That matches up with what Amazon's been listing for the region, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/28/persona-4-golden-neptunia-victory-aiming-to-hit-europe-feb-22/">not for the first time</a> for a NIS America game. With that in mind, don't be surprised if <em>Time and Eternity</em>'s "summer" window for North America gets upgraded to <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Time-Eternity-Playstation-3/dp/B00BJH11FQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1366969525&amp;sr=8-1&amp;keywords=time+and+eternity">July 16</a>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/26/devil-summoner-soul-hackers-cracks-europe-this-fall/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers cracks Europe this fall</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/26/devil-summoner-soul-hackers-cracks-europe-this-fall/">Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers cracks Europe this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 26 Apr 2013 08:30:00 EST. It was expected <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/14/nintendo-direct-eu-release-date-round-up-pokemon-mystery-dungeo/">this spring</a>, but with the season dwindling fast, the Atlus-developed RPG won't hit European retailers or the 3DS eShop until summertime. NIS America says a demo which includes two dungeons is coming to the eShop beforehand, which to us sounds like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/22/etrian-odyssey-4-demo-hits-3ds-eshop-feb-7/">the same demo</a> North America received.<br /><br />Etrian Odyssey's return to Europe - the first game released on the continent but the second and third ones did not - marks, according to JRPG guru Kat Bailey, the series <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/08/at-long-last-fire-emblem-and-etrian-odyssey-can-be-recommended/">finally becoming recommendable to mainstream players</a>; <em>Etrian Odyssey 4</em> hauled a sweet four stars in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/12/etrian-odyssey-4-legends-of-the-titan-review/">our review</a>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/04/etrian-odyssey-4-delays-european-trek-to-the-summer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Etrian Odyssey 4 delays European trek to the summer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/04/etrian-odyssey-4-delays-european-trek-to-the-summer/">Etrian Odyssey 4 delays European trek to the summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Apr 2013 12:30:00 EST. The servers for the From Software game are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/25/demons-souls-servers-staying-online-into-the-foreseeable-futur/">staying online for the foreseeable future</a>, so there's no reason to pass on a PS3 game we described as a "leather-clad mistress" in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/12/review-demons-souls/">our 2009 review</a> - unless, perhaps... <a href="http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lwoup5j5jG1qik3eoo1_500.gif">you're scared</a>?<br /><br />Less sadistic Plus entries coming this month include <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/03/05/zombie-tycoon-2-invades-ps3-and-ps-vita-april-30th/"><em>Zombie Tycoon 2</em></a>, which heads to PS3 and Vita via PSN on April 30, <em>Malicious</em> and <em>Labyrinth Legends</em> for PS3, and PSP game <em>Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny</em> for Vita. There are no PS Plus ETAs for those last three.<br /><br />As ever, new stuff coming in pushes old stuff back out. If you want to grab <em>Spec Ops: The Line</em> from PS Plus, today's your last chance to do so. <em>Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition</em> dragon punches out on April 9, while <em>Anomaly: Warzone Earth</em> flees on April 16.<br /><br />Finally, today's PSN update brings discounts to <em>The Walking Dead</em>, <em>Rainbow Moon</em>, and the S&ouml;ldner-X series, including the first season of Telltale's zombified adventure for $14.99, a price that drops to $10.49 with Plus. For all those deals, check out the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/04/01/playstation-plus-april-update-demons-souls-free-for-members/">PlayStation Blog</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/02/demons-souls-pounces-on-playstation-plus-today/">Demon's Souls pounces on PlayStation Plus today</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 02 Apr 2013 12:30:00 EST. "Decisions players make throughout the course of the story will have lasting repercussions, as the fate of the world hangs in the balance," Atlus says.<br /><br /><em>Shin Megami Tensei 4</em> will lean on the series' iconic demon-collecting mechanics, enabling players to recruit and fuse together over 400 different demons for battle. The Press Turn battle system will also make a return, encouraging combatants to coordinate attacks in the correct order to exploit enemy weaknesses.<br /><br />The system has been used in other Shin Megami Tensei games, though it was originally introduced back in 2003 with <em>Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne</em> on the PlayStation 2.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/02/shin-megami-tensei-4-chooses-3ds-this-summer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Shin Megami Tensei 4 chooses 3DS this summer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/02/shin-megami-tensei-4-chooses-3ds-this-summer/">Shin Megami Tensei 4 chooses 3DS this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 02 Apr 2013 03:05:00 EST. Which is why it's here for your viewing enjoyment this morning.<br /><br />Not that you need us to tell you the trailer's for a Vanillaware game. The studio's inimitable, time-intensive style makes its games easily stand out, which is why an art book sounds like a great bonus for a limited number of early adopters in Japan. Publisher Atlus revealed the 64-page hardback includes art by Vanillaware, and tribute work from Kinu Nishimura, Akira Yasuda, and Bengus of Capcom fame.<br /><br />Today's trailer confirms the reported Japanese release date of July 25. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/19/atlus-picks-up-dragons-crown-publishing-also-assisting-with-de/">Last we heard</a>, Atlus said it's bringing <em>Dragon's Crown</em> to North America sometime this year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/21/dragons-crown-reigns-in-new-trailer-bonus-art-book-unveiled/">Dragon's Crown reigns in new trailer, bonus art book unveiled</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Mar 2013 08:00:00 EST. After <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/14/persona-4-arena-posts-tentative-european-launch-window-of-may/">last week</a> saw the silhouette of a May window fizzling onto the Midnight Channel - or distributor Zen United's Facebook page - today's much clearer announcement means the brawling follow-up to <em>Persona 4</em> reaches the continent just under a year after its release in Japan.<br /><br /><em>Arena</em>'s much-delayed arrival on the continent is compounded by Atlus' decision to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/05/persona-4-arena-will-be-region-locked-on-ps3/">region-lock</a> the game, including the recent PSN version in North America. We haven't given up though and we're currently looking into several different ways of making this fantastic game available to you all." <br /><br />One of the "several different ways" under consideration is the possibility of Ghostlight offering a Collector's Edition directly through its website, a strategy the publisher <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/02/shin-megami-tensei-devil-survivor-overclocked-coming-to-uk-in-a/">recently used</a> for the 3DS release of <em>Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/16/devil-survivor-2-european-release-still-in-the-works/">Devil Survivor 2 European release still in the works</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 16 Mar 2013 20:30:00 EST. It has a history of being very tough, and its story (such as it is) is on the sparse side. But despite looking much the same as the original Nintendo DS games, changes are afoot with <em>Etrian Odyssey 4</em>, many of them for the better.<br /><br />The most important change, arguably, is that it's easier. A lot easier. Not that it's overly simple or anything; but compared to the first three games, the opening areas are a breeze. This is good, because Etrian Odyssey long delighted in simply tossing players into its trademark labyrinths, then watching them die. This way, at least, newcomers have a chance to see what really makes Etrian Odyssey great.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/etrian-odyssey-iv-legends-of-the-titan/">Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/etrian-odyssey-iv-legends-of-the-titan/#5705512"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/etrianodyssey4-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/etrian-odyssey-iv-legends-of-the-titan/#5705513"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/etrianodyssey4-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/etrian-odyssey-iv-legends-of-the-titan/#5705514"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/etrianodyssey4-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/etrian-odyssey-iv-legends-of-the-titan/#5705515"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/etrianodyssey4-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/etrian-odyssey-iv-legends-of-the-titan/#5705516"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/etrianodyssey4-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/12/etrian-odyssey-4-legends-of-the-titan-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan review: The warm embrace of exploration</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/12/etrian-odyssey-4-legends-of-the-titan-review/">Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan review: The warm embrace of exploration</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 12 Mar 2013 13:15:00 EST. Tune in every Wednesday for thoughts on white-haired villains, giant robots, Infinity+1 swords, and everything else the wonderful world of JRPGs has to offer.</p><div style="text-align: center;"> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/08/at-long-last-fire-emblem-and-etrian-odyssey-can-be-recommended/"><img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/01/etrian.jpg" /></a></div>The average first-time experience with an Etrian Odyssey game goes something like this: You spend some time constructing a team; you venture into the forest for the first time, and you die. Then, unless you're a particular breed of RPG fan, you probably quit forever. Until now, anyway.<br /><br />After three games worth of trial and error, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/etrian-odyssey-4">Etrian Odyssey IV</a></em> seems to have hit the 'Goldilocks Zone' of RPG difficulty. In other words, it's still pretty tough, but it's not impossible. And for that reason, it's finally reached the point where I can reasonably recommend it to someone other than a hardcore dungeon crawler fanatic.<br /><br />The crux of <em>EOIV</em>'s new accessibility is its casual mode, which makes it to the second high-profile 3DS RPG this year to feature such an option (<em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fire-emblem-awakening">Fire Emblem: Awakening</a></em> was the first). The effects are relatively simple: when you die, you'll be whisked back to town, rather than having to start over. In addition, you will be blessed with an item that lets you leave a dungeon at any time.<br /><br />This would seem to have the effect of making <em>EOIV </em>a tad too easy; but in reality, it makes it compulsive. Rather than getting frustrated by every cheap death and accidental counter with an F.O.E. - minibosses that roam the labyrinth - I've found myself simply rolling up my sleeves and trying again. The result has been much more rapid progress than I've ever experienced before, and a whole lot less in the way of cursing and throwing my 3DS.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/08/at-long-last-fire-emblem-and-etrian-odyssey-can-be-recommended/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>At long last, Fire Emblem and Etrian Odyssey can be recommended to the mainstream</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/08/at-long-last-fire-emblem-and-etrian-odyssey-can-be-recommended/">At long last, Fire Emblem and Etrian Odyssey can be recommended to the mainstream</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Mar 2013 20:30:00 EST. A brief trailer shown during a <a href="http://www.nintendo.com/nintendo-direct/archive/01-23-2013/">Nintendo Direct presentation</a> didn't offer many details, showing only characters from both games as well as the self-explanatory title.<br /><br />Presumably, the characters from each series will fight it out for ultimate supremacy. In other words, your Trapper Keeper doodles are about to come to life. Further details, it seems, will have to wait.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/23/shin-megami-tensei-x-fire-emblem-announced-for-wii-u/">Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem announced for Wii U</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Jan 2013 09:44:00 EST. We were also informed that the game would likely be released sans Special/Collector's Edition, which appears to be the case considering no such announcements accompanied the confirmation of its release.<br /><br />Well, there <em>is</em> one way to get a Special Edition in Europe. If you stare into the screen of an unplugged television during a heavy rain, <em>at midnight</em>, you'll find what you're after. You have to be completely alone though, otherwise it won't work. It also helps if you've got some kind of repressed issues or have been having trouble accepting part of who you are.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/22/persona-4-golden-launching-in-europe-feb-22/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Persona 4 Golden launching in Europe Feb. 22</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/22/persona-4-golden-launching-in-europe-feb-22/">Persona 4 Golden launching in Europe Feb. 22</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jan 2013 18:30:00 EST. Atlus will release a demo of <em>Etrian Odyssey 4</em> on the 3DS eShop in North America on February 7.<br /><br />The demo includes one dungeon and part of another, along with a "skyship" section and a town that allows you to trade items via QR code and receive QR gifts. All of your progress in said demo will transfer to the full game when it comes out on February 26, so your bold experiment need not be in vain.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/22/etrian-odyssey-4-demo-hits-3ds-eshop-feb-7/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Etrian Odyssey 4 demo hits 3DS eShop Feb. 7</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/22/etrian-odyssey-4-demo-hits-3ds-eshop-feb-7/">Etrian Odyssey 4 demo hits 3DS eShop Feb. 7</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jan 2013 13:30:00 EST.
