Starting now until November 30, <a href="http://www.Direct2Drive.com/">Direct2Drive</a> is offering $10 off either the standard edition or Digital Deluxe Edition of BioWare's <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Dragon-Age-Origins/">Dragon Age: Origins</a></em>. The exclusive sale kicks off an upcoming Thanksgiving price drop on unnamed titles from the digital download service.<br /> <br /> The standard edition is priced at $39.95, while the Deluxe edition is priced at $54.95 for the promotion. With the savings we recommend you look into purchasing the (somewhat controversial) downloadable content already available for the title. If paying for storage space is your <em>thing</em>, that is.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/24/direct2drive-offers-10-off-dragon-age-origins-until-nov-30/">Direct2Drive offering $10 off Dragon Age: Origins through Nov. 30</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 24 Nov 2009 02:00:00 EST. If you already know for a fact you're going to buy <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3-odst">Halo 3: ODST</a> </em>(and you're not planning on hocking games with GameStop for it) this may just be your best bet. <a href="http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/23629">Slickdeals</a> points out that pre-ordering the $60 game from Amazon will net you a $10 video game store credit (plus $5 extra with coupon HALOODST) and a $5 Amazon MP3 Credit . <br />
<br />
In case you're not so hot with math, that effectively brings the price of the game to <em>thirteen dollars</em>. We're not sure how anyone could pass that up.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/20/pre-order-halo-3-odst-through-amazon-get-20-in-credits/">Pre-order Halo 3: ODST through Amazon, get $20 in credits</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 20 Aug 2009 11:00:00 EST. Couch athletes, rejoice! This week's Xbox 360 digital deal is aimed directly at you. <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Tiger-Woods-09">Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09</a></em> fans looking for some new scenery can pick up the <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/04/20/this-weeks-deal-spyglass-hill-golf-course-for-tiger-woods-09.aspx">Spyglass Hill golf course DLC</a> for 400<img border="0" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /> ($5), down 33% from 600<img border="0" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" />. The downloadable course brings players through one of the toughest stops on the PGA tour on the historic Pebble Beach Golf Links. It's the perfect DLC if you love the outdoors but hate leaving your home ... and can you really pass up a chance to fist-pump all over more <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pebble_Beach_Golf_Links">Pebble Beach</a> green?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/20/xbox-deal-of-the-week-tiger-woods-09-spyglass-hill-dlc/">Xbox Deal of the Week: Tiger Woods '09 Spyglass Hill DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 Apr 2009 14:00:00 EST. <div align="left">What's better t han a cheap game? <em>Two </em>cheap games, obviously. Not only has Play.com cut all their platinum PS3 game prices by &pound;5, but they're also offering two for &pound;25. A saving of &pound;15 off the RRP. Not bad at all, when you consider these games were the cream of the crop in 2007. You can choose between <em>Uncharted: Drake's Fortune</em>, <em>Heavenly Sword</em>, <em>MotorStorm, Ratchet &amp; Clank Future: Tools of Destruction</em> and <em>Resistance: Fall of Man</em>. So what are you waiting for? Go get some cheap games.<br /></div>
<br /> Oh yeah, there are also a few Blu-ray movies included in the deal, in case you already have the titles listed above.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/08/deal-of-the-day-two-uk-platinum-titles-for-25/">Deal of the day: Two UK platinum titles for £25</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Aug 2008 09:00:00 EST. Of course, every system has its pricing tiers, and lucky us -- we get a break on new games. But even with that in mind, the costs can really mount up! The sensible gamer, however, can usually keep things within the realm of a reasonable budget. <br /><br />Still, with all of the people reporting <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/15/wii-warm-up-raw-numbers/">yesterday</a> that they hunt for bargains, we wanted to ask: how do you feel about current game pricing, from downloadable titles (on the Wii and elsewhere) to the prices of new retail games? Do you feel like you're getting your money's worth when you buy a game?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/16/wii-warm-up-pricing-from-top-to-bottom/">Wii Warm Up: Pricing, from top to bottom</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 Oct 2007 09:00:00 EST. Maybe you think it looks funny or like a good time waster, or maybe you're dedicated to a certain franchise or genre so much that a few poor reviews aren't going to stop you. You buy it anyway, and it ends up being just great -- for you, at least. It's even better when you find a game that didn't do so well at a bargain price, take a chance on it, and find out you love it like you've loved no game in recent memory.<br /><br />These are always our favorites. It's an easy thing to buy a game that everyone seems to like or that gets great reviews. It just seems more satisfying when you happen across something and pick it up on a whim.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/03/ds-daily-gems-on-a-whim/">DS Daily: Gems on a whim</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 03 Sep 2007 09:00:00 EST. We don't expect this deal to last for long, so race your shopping cart to the checkout lane as fast as your feet will allow.<br /><br />If for some reason, God forbid, you haven't played <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/phoenix%20wright"><em>Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney</em></a> yet and are hesitant to start the series midway through, don't forget that you can also pick up a used copy at GameStop or EB Games for as low as $21.99! We admit, that's still pretty expensive for a game as old as this one, but it's better than paying full price. All you'll need to take advantage of this sorta-bargain is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/13/save-5-on-overpriced-used-games-at-eb-gs/">the coupon we posted</a> earlier this morning.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/13/phoenix-wright-sales-for-all/">Phoenix Wright: Sales for All</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Jul 2007 14:50:00 EST. The thrifty among you will find some solace in this coupon that both companies sent out last night, enticing you to "Save $5 when you buy any used DS game priced $14.99 or higher."<br /><br />You'll have a better selection picking out your game from the stores' shelves, but the coupon code, "EBC3002763," should also work with online purchases. If you head to their "Used Games" pages now, you might be able to scavenge preplayed titles like <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=919232"><em>Elite Beat Agents</em> </a>and <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=919123"><em>Resident Evil: Deadly Silence</em></a> before the wolves descend upon them and tear their availability from your grip. Check past the post break for the coupon.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/13/save-5-on-overpriced-used-games-at-eb-gs/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Save $5 on overpriced used games at EB/GS</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/13/save-5-on-overpriced-used-games-at-eb-gs/">Save $5 on overpriced used games at EB/GS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Jul 2007 11:30:00 EST. This week <a href="http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&amp;langid=EN&amp;sku_id=0665000FS10089279&amp;catid=#">Future Shop</a> is offering the Premium Xbox 360 <em>Forza 2</em> bundle for $499, but they are also throwing in three free games to boot! The three free games included are <em>Crackdown</em>, <em>World Series of Poker: Tournament Of Champions</em>, and <em>Hitman: Blood Money</em> plus<em> Forza 2</em> equals four free games with a 360 purchase. Now that's what we call gaming in a box. Though, we recommend holding out until tomorrow night to see if the rumored 360 <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/09/analysts-expecting-a-xbox-360-price-cut/">price drop</a> happens. If not, go get yourself a 360 ... you deserve it.<br /><br />[Thanks, <a href="http://www.rhrides.com">DjDATZ</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/09/canadians-get-4-games-free-with-360-purchase/">Canadians get 4 games free with 360 purchase</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 09 Jul 2007 16:15:00 EST. Though the sale doesn't end until next Friday, a lot of these items won't stay in-stock for long. So while Play Asia's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/jump"><em>Jump! Ultimate Stars</em></a> sale for $29.90 might not seem like much of a bargain, keep in mind that the online fighter usually sells for a staggering $48.90.<br /><br />It's a great game though; many have even compared it to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/smash"><em>Super Smash Bros.</em></a> series, except in 2D and with twenty hojillion playable <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/manga">manga</a> characters. Since Play-Asia will be honoring the reduced price until next Monday, that gives you plenty of time to consider whether or not this discount is deep enough to warrant a purchase. It's a topic we take to heart, since our countless millions are usually tied up in so many high-risk investments that we can't always get access to enough walking-around money to cover DS games <em>and</em> <a href="http://www.taquitos.net/snacks.php?page_code=42">lobster stuffed with tacos</a>. So we got into the habit of looking for deals.<br /><br />This practice creates an unfortunate compulsion. Sometimes, rather than buying the things we want, we'll buy stuff we normally wouldn't be interested in <em>just because</em> it's so cheap. There have been occasions where, based on a tip from <a href="http://www.cheapassgamer.com">CAG</a>, we've loaded up on clearance games, only to be struck with buyer's remorse. Of course, there were other times when we've been surprised by quality, as was the case with our $2 copy of <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightmare_of_Druaga">Nightmare of Druaga</a>. </em>It didn't change the world, but it was <em>fantastic</em> for a $2 game.<br /><em><br /></em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dsd">Have you ever</a> been afflicted by Cheap Game Fever? But for some reason this offer isn't valid for Legendary edition preorders, which we find a little odd. So, simply plop down a minimum of $10 on a preorder and you'll get a 4' tall Master Chief when the game ships in September. It's even better when great games get ignored and thus end up in the bargain bin, which is always nice on the ol' wallet. Used games are another cheap way to feed your addiction, unless of course you're staunchly opposed to trade-in practices at most gaming stores.<br /><br /><a href="http://dsfanboy.com/tag/dsd">How do you manage</a> when you're forced to game on a budget?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/27/ds-daily-the-bargain-bin/">DS Daily: The bargain bin</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 27 Apr 2007 09:00:00 EST. While <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/squareenix">Square Enix's</a> mecha-based SRPG has a cult following in the states, none of the original game's various versions have ever made it to the US. If you've been thinking about importing this introduction to the Front Mission series, you're in luck! Play Asia has the game on sale for $19.90 (while stocks last), less than half the price of what <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=ebay">eBay</a> stores are asking for!<br /><br />Political-drama-based plots are usually awash with text, but since the game's menus are already translated into English, <em>Front Mission: The First</em> should still be playable even if you don't know any Japanese. It's not like there are any good <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/srpg">SRPGs</a> released in the west yet, anyway.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.cheapassgamer.com/">CAG</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/19/front-mission-the-sale/">Front Mission: The sale</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 19 Apr 2007 17:00:00 EST. Of course, we're suspicious about the quality of Ignition Entertainment's budget title, but it's hard to argue with a bargain like that.<br /><br />Like a lemon on the used car lot, maybe the price suggests a faulty engine? Granted, those internal drives let you also burn your own Blu-ray discs, but the standalone players are still a good deal more than the PS3 is. In fact, we just checked at BestBuy.com, and the lowest priced Blu-ray player is <a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7772822&amp;st=blu-ray&amp;type=product&amp;id=1142289574588">$799.99</a>, giving you 200 more one dollar reasons to get yourself a console ... if you can find one.<br /><br />The fact is, until some killer games come out, this might be all you'll be using this thing for. However, having seen Blu-ray movies in action, you won't be disappointed. They look pretty darn swanky, and you can almost smell the popcorn and feel the sticky floors.<br /><br />Granted, this isn't exactly news -- and we've been saying the same thing here at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/18/the-joystiq-holiday-gift-guide-for-gamers/">Joystiq</a>, but we're worried that the holiday cash might be burning a hole in your pocket, and we're looking out for you.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/27/playstation-3-is-a-decent-bargain-as-a-blu-ray-player/">PlayStation 3 is a decent bargain, as a Blu-ray player</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 27 Dec 2006 17:25:00 EST. Regardless of all the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/19/loco-roco-takes-over-japanese-subways/">advertising</a> and the special <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/15/loco-roco-bundle-releasing-in-japan/"><em>Loco Roco</em> bundles</a>, the game simply <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/19/loco-roco-goes-for-the-gold-and-comes-back-in-7th-place/">hasn't sold too well</a>. In fact, the game has been doing so poorly that it's already available in bargain bins for a low price of 1980 yen (about $18). Maybe Sony should reconsider making games for the PSP and focus solely on making brain games and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/31/ds-cookbook-a-japanese-hit/">cooking programs</a>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://kotaku.com/gaming/top/japan-hates-locoroco-190821.php">Kotaku</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/01/japan-not-loco-for-loco-roco/">Japan not loco for Loco Roco</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 Aug 2006 01:09:00 EST. GamesIndustry.biz suggests that Sony won't be selling the cut down model over the pond, although this isn't confirmed. The PS3's price in England is higher than the console's price in the United States and Europe but we're not entirely surprised by this: British consumers are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2005/08/17/european-pricing-for-the-xbox-360-revealed/">used to paying more</a> for their consoles (although traditionally the U.K. gets identical or lower prices compared to Europe). Here's a breakdown of the U.K. premium over U.S. and EU prices:<br />
<ul>
    <li>&pound;109 more than the U.S. "Premium" PS3: the U.S. price is $599 which converts to &pound;316. Take this away from &pound;425 and you're left with a &pound;109 premium.</li>
    <li>&pound;20 more than the EU "Premium" PS3: the EU price is 599 EUR which converts to &pound;405. Take this away from &pound;425 and you're left with a &pound;20 premium</li>
