Who likes cheap Xbox Live Gold subscriptions? That's right, <em>you do</em> -- and Newegg has got you covered. Right now the tech seller has a full year of Xbox Live Gold up for only <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16874103129&amp;nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL050410&amp;cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL050410-_-EMC-050410-Index-_-Xbox360Accessories-_-74103129-L0H">$34.99</a>, a full $15 off the usual $50 price. That's almost three months of online gaming for free. You can't argue with that. Well, you <em>could</em> but you'd be a jerk, and there's no room for jerks on Xbox Live. Nope, <em>none</em>.<br />

Perhaps in celebration of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/civilization-5"><em>Civilization V</em>'s recent reveal</a>, Direct2Drive is offering <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/civilization-iv"><em>Civilization IV</em></a> -- as well as the standalone <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/09/civilization-iv-colonization-announced-no-civ-iv-required/"><em>Civilization IV: </em><em>Colonization</em></a> -- for 33% off. Other deals on the direct download service this weekend include <em>Supreme Commander: Gold Edition</em>, <em>Majesty The Fantasy Kingdom Sim: Gold Edition</em>, and more.<br />
<br />
If you're one of the few who doesn't "get" the <em>Civilization</em> addiction epidemic, which has swept the world over the last two decades leaving workplace productivity in shambles, consider yourself luckier than the folks in the video after the break. Yes, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/civilization-revolution">Civilization Revolution</a></em> was solid, but <em>CivIV</em> has the uncanny ability to turn the sweetest old lady into a crazed destroyer of all mankind. Basically, It's fun for the whole family.<br />

So, was a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/14/trine-hammers-25-off-steam-price-until-aug-19/">25 percent reduction</a> not enough incentive to pick up <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/trine"><em>Trine</em></a>? Did you scoff when Impulse only <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/30/impulse-halving-price-on-trine-gratuitous-space-battles-this-we/"><em>halved</em> the price</a>? If your cold, frugal heart was unmoved by these gestures of kindness, perhaps its icy confines will be breached by <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/3432/">Steam's latest deal</a>. You see, from now through Thursday, <em>Trine</em> can be purchased from the service for 75 percent off its retail price. Yes, that means you can pick up Frozenbyte's magical puzzle-platformer for only <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/35700/">five bucks</a>.<br />
<br />
Should <em>that</em> fail to penetrate the stony tomb of loneliness inside your rib cage, well, then there's nothing more to be said.<br />

Ever since the supposedly limited run of the <em>Halo 3 Legendary Edition</em> was first released, we've watched its price <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/24/canada-halo-3-legendary-with-lost-planet-for-99/">slowly</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/01/deal-time-halo-3-legendary-edition-for-60/">tumble</a>. Originally sporting <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/16/halo-3-legendary-edition-officially-129-99/">a hefty $129.99</a> price tag, we've seen the price slide ever lower as retailers, desperate for shelf space, slashed the price again and again. Now, <a href="http://1saleaday.com/">1saleaday.com</a> is selling copies of the <em>Legendary Edition</em> for the absolute rock-bottom price of $30. That's thirty bones for <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/halo-3"><em>Halo 3</em></a>, your very own cat helmet and more behind-the-scenes bonus features than you can shake a plasma sword at. The item is listed as "new," although it's hard to imagine the packaging has survived nearly three years without acquiring a few bumps and bruises.<br />
<br />
Keep in mind that we have no idea how reliable 1 Sale A Day is, but you're not likely to find a better price than this. There are only a few hours left on the sale, so both of you remaining <em>Legendary</em> fence-sitters had better hop to it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/02/this-is-what-it-has-come-to-halo-3-legendary-for-30/">This is what it has come to: Halo 3 Legendary for $30</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 02 Feb 2010 16:39:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;"><strong>Update: </strong>Kmart and Sears have issued a correction. The sale begins November 18, <strong><u>not</u></strong> November 17.</div>
Kmart and Sears have announced a special deal in celebration of the new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dashboard-update-fall-2009">Xbox Live Dashboard Update</a>, which arrives this week. Starting November 17, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/12/facebook-and-twitter-coming-to-xbox-nov-17/">same day as the update</a>, gamers can pick up discounted Xbox Live Gold subscription cards. Three-month cards are being knocked down from $20 to $15, while twelve-month cards are dropping from $50 to $35. Not a bad deal for gamers looking to get their online gaming on the cheap -- or those looking to give it to others for the holidays.<br />
<br />
The cards will be available only on the <a href="http://www.sears.com/">Sears</a> and <a href="http://www.kmart.com/">Kmart</a> websites through November 21.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/16/cheap-xbox-live-gold-at-sears-and-kmart-this-week/">Cheap Xbox Live Gold at Sears and Kmart this week [update: Starts Nov 18]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 16 Nov 2009 16:45:00 EST. According to cellphone-camera equipped tipsters at <a href="http://kotaku.com/5395950/xbox-360-with-100-card-for-200-this-weekend">Kotaku</a>, Walmart will apparently offer a $100 gift card with the purchase of an Xbox 360 Arcade unit this Saturday. Supposedly confirmed by <a href="http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=241654">Cheap Ass Gamer</a>, the promotion also includes a $148 dollar Sony-branded Blu-ray player and will run until November 13, or while supplies last. If the rumor does prove to be true, we'd recommend waiting in line now in case something happens to your current Xbox. Apparently there's no telling how long those things <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rrod/">will last</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/03/rumor-xbox-360-arcade-to-be-offered-with-100-gift-card-at-walm/">Rumor: Xbox 360 Arcade to be offered with $100 gift card at Walmart</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Nov 2009 19:15:00 EST. The highly under-appreciated shooter <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/stalker">S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl</a></em> is on sale for the <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/4500/"><em>low</em> price of $5</a> on Valve's Steam platform until Monday. Developed by Ukrainian-based GSC Game World, the 2007 shooter takes place in an alternate reality where a second nuclear disaster takes place in at the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_Nuclear_Power_Plant">Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant</a> in Ukraine.<br />
<br />
Normally priced at $19.99, <em>Shadow of Chernobyl</em> is a steal at $5; however, as solid as the FPS is, it also includes numerous video game storyline cliches like an amnesiac protagonist and flesh-hunting mutants. Where are all the games with flesh-hunting amnesiac mutants, right? <br />

Over the next five weeks, Direct2Drive is offering a special discount on a host of different titles in celebration of its <a href="http://www.direct2drive.com/d2dturns5">five-year anniversary</a>. Every Monday, Direct2Drive will feature a new set of titles, reducing them to $5 (or &pound;5 UK), with the first week of the promotion focusing on "Ubisoft and Strategy titles." While the upcoming week's titles have yet to be revealed, Direct2Drive has teased us with utterly vague descriptions of what to expect:<br />
<ul>
    <li>Week Two: Action Games</li>
    <li>Week Three: RPGs &amp; MMOs</li>
    <li>Week Four: Indie Games</li>
    <li>Week Five: War Games</li>
</ul>
The first week of the promotion ends on September 14. Games differ slightly based on your geographical region -- for instance, Ubisoft is strangely omitted from the <a href="http://www.direct2drive.co.uk/d2dturns5">European promotion</a>. Check out a full list of this week's games for both regions after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/10/direct2drive-celebrates-5-year-anniversary-with-50-games-for-5/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Direct2Drive celebrates 5-year anniversary with 50 games for $5 each</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/10/direct2drive-celebrates-5-year-anniversary-with-50-games-for-5/">Direct2Drive celebrates 5-year anniversary with 50 games for $5 each</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Sep 2009 14:00:00 EST. Last week, Canadians were privy to a fantastic deal, netting them Batman's latest adventure <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/23/canadians-get-batman-arkham-asylum-for-40-at-multiple-retailer/">for $40</a>. This week, American gamers are being treated to a <a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?type=category&amp;id=pcmcat190600050005">buy-one-get-one-half-off promotion at Best Buy</a> on a laundry list of Xbox 360 software. The deal is pretty simple: Purchase one <a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=abcat0701002&amp;type=category">qualifying</a> Xbox 360 title and get a second game (of equal or lesser value) for 50% off. To sweeten the deal Best Buy is even throwing in free shipping for your purchase.<br /><br />Strangely, the fine print mentions gamers can only select items that are currently in stock, but list <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Modern-Warfare-2/">Modern Warfare 2</a></em> as one of the qualifying titles. Keep in mind that this offer can end at any time, so if you're looking to stock up for the winter season now is as good a time as any.<br /><br />[Thanks, vidGuy!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/30/best-buy-offering-buy-one-get-one-half-off-for-360-games/">Best Buy offering buy-one-get-one-half-off for 360 games</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 30 Aug 2009 18:00:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.guitarherostore.com/Bundles/Guitar-Hero-World-Tour-Guitar-Bundle-plus-Free-Kramer-Guitar-PS2?leadsource=61">official Guitar Hero store</a> has a great deal for PS2 gamers, bundling the single guitar pack of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Guitar-Hero-World-Tour/">Guitar Hero: World Tour</a></em> with a bonus Kramer Guitar controller for $50. The $39.99 value is only available for a limited time.<br /><br />If you're still rocking a PlayStation 2, the bundle could come in handy during parties where you'd prefer to spend your time staring at your television rather than speak to your invited guests. Also, the bundle will help future rockers to "man-it-up," by giving you a spare guitar in case you smash one after a sweet solo.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/12/ps2-deal-guitar-hero-world-tour-2-guitars-50/">PS2 deal: Guitar Hero World Tour + 2 guitars = $50</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Aug 2009 21:15:00 EST. Dude, we're telling you, this is the perfect time to start collecting the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nancy-drew"><em>Nancy Drew</em></a> titles. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/steam">Steam</a> has tons of family-friendly games on sale with up to 50% slashed off the regular price. It doesn't take a young, amateur detective to see the deal in this one.<br /><br />Seriously though, if you've got a kid who loves PC games or just have a hankering for some simple time-wasters, then you might want to have a look. Jump right in <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/family/">here</a> for the sale.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/21/steam-deals-up-to-50-off-family-friendly-titles/">Steam deals: Up to 50% off family-friendly titles</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Jul 2009 03:15:00 EST. It may be a while until you get your grubby paws on <em>Duke Nukem</em>'s <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/duke-nukem-forever">latest adventure</a> (if ever), but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to enjoy some irrelevant '90s humor from the silver-tongued action star.<br /><br />Until the <a href="http://www.gog.com/en/page/duke_promo">end of the day on June 1</a>, Good Old Games is selling both <em>Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition</em> and <em>Duke Nukem Manhattan Project</em> for 25 percent off -- bundled for $8.98. If you've already purchased one of the discounted titles prior to this promotion, GOG is offering a discount on the second title ($1.50 off for $4.49). Time to kick ass, chew bubble gum and remember Duke had a pretty good history.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/25/gog-sale-isnt-forever-classic-duke-nukem-bundle-discounted/">GoG sale isn't forever, classic Duke Nukem bundle discounted</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 May 2009 22:00:00 EST. Valve's Steam store continues its trend of weekend <strike>deals</strike> steals, offering the PC version of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/call-of-duty-world-at-war"><em>Call of Duty: World at War</em></a> for half-price from today until the final minutes of Sunday, May 17. Regularly priced for download at $49.99, the game -- which includes the recently released Map Pack 1 -- is <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/2503/">bargain hunter bait at $24.99</a>. Activision's WWII-era FPS joins the cuddlier likes of Telltale Games' <em>Strongbad </em>and <em>Sam &amp; Max </em>series, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/15/50-off-sam-and-max-strong-bad-on-steam-until-may-18/">which are also 50% off</a> until the 18th.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/15/call-of-duty-world-at-war-is-25-on-steam-through-may-18/">Call of Duty: World at War is $25 on Steam through May 18</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 15 May 2009 15:20:00 EST. GamerDeals has posted a <a href="http://gamerdeals.net/blogs/video-game-coupons/archive/2009/04/11/gamestop-in-store-coupon-25-off-used-xbox-games.aspx">GameStop coupon</a> that grants lucky customers 25% off used games for the original Xbox. We figured there was no better time to point out some of the original Xbox games that you <em>can't</em> play on your Xbox 360. Here are just a few:<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>Otogi</em></li>
    <li><em>Otogi 2</em></li>
    <li><em>GunValkyrie</em></li>
    <li><em>Beyond Good &amp; Evil</em></li>
    <li><em>Prince of Persia: Warrior Within<br /></em></li>
    <li><em>Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones</em></li>
    <li><em>Taito Legends</em></li>
    <li><em>X-Men Legends</em></li>
    <li><em>Top Spin</em></li>
    <li><em>Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance</em></li>
    <li><em>Rainbow Six 3<br /></em></li>
</ul>
By all means, go snap up some other Xbox games with the coupon. We just wanted to inject some bittersweetness into the deal, because <em>that's how we roll</em>. Oh, and the coupon expires on April 16, so hop to it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/13/coupon-25-off-used-xbox-games-at-gamestop/">Coupon: 25% off used Xbox games at GameStop</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 13 Apr 2009 15:30:00 EST. <div align="left">For this weekend only, Valve is offering <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/left-4-dead">Left 4 Dead</a> </em>for half-price <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/2239/">via Steam</a>. So now, like everyone else with a pulse (seriously, <em>no zombies allowed!</em>), you can get with the program and start playing this <strike>game</strike> <em>zombie apocalypse training simulator</em>. The cost of <strike>civic duty</strike> entry: $24.99. In other words, a <em>steal</em>. And it's only going to get better when the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/11/left-4-dead-dlc-4-free/">free DLC hits</a>.</div>

Word on savings avenue is that all gaming accessories including Microsoft points cards and Live subscriptions are now <a href="http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=0&amp;t=1146447">30% off retail prices</a>. If you've been wanting to snag the Xbox 360 wireless adapter but unwilling to stomach the incredibly steep $99 price tag, we have good news. According to GamerDeals.net, Buy.com will be <a href="http://gamerdeals.net/blogs/cheap-xbox-360/archive/2009/01/16/buy-com-to-offer-xbox-360-wireless-network-adapter-for-69-99.aspx">hosting a sale</a> on the peripheral starting this Sunday, January 18 at midnight (PST) and ending January 25. The WiFi adapter price will be slashed by 30%, lowering the price to a (slightly) more palatable $69.99. Sure, it's still a far cry from what typical adapters cost, but it's certainly better.<br /><br />If that doesn't float your boat, Buy.com will also be offering the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/e308-up-close-and-personal-new-red-and-green-controllers/">red wireless controller</a> bundle -- which includes a Play &amp; Charge Kit -- for $42.99, a significant savings over the $64.99 suggested price. GamerDeals suspects the products will likely sell out quickly, and we're inclined to agree, so you might want to start warming up your clicking finger now.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/16/360-wifi-adapter-for-69-this-sunday-on-buy-com/">360 WiFi adapter for $69 this Sunday on Buy.com</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 16 Jan 2009 13:15:00 EST. Amazon is currently offering the collector's edition of <em>Fallout 3</em> for <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-3-Collectors-Xbox-360/dp/B0016BTNTQ/ref=br_lf_m_1000208101_1_1_ttl?ie=UTF8&amp;m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;s=videogames&amp;pf_rd_p=466633951&amp;pf_rd_s=center-2&amp;pf_rd_t=1401&amp;pf_rd_i=1000208101&amp;pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;pf_rd_r=0R7ENYPNKKWS9ZPZ2KN8">$49.98</a>, just over $30 less than the retail price of $79.99. Lest you've forgotten, the collector's edition comes with a Vault Boy bobblehead, a 100 page art book, a making-of DVD and a sweet metal lunchbox (It also includes the <em>game</em>, which is important). If that sounds just a bit too paltry for your expensive taste, Amazon is also offering its exclusive Survival Edition for <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-Amazon-com-Exclusive-Survival-Xbox-360/dp/B0017QL8XE/ref=br_lf_m_1000208101_1_2_ttl?ie=UTF8&amp;m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;s=videogames&amp;pf_rd_p=466633951&amp;pf_rd_s=center-2&amp;pf_rd_t=1401&amp;pf_rd_i=1000208101&amp;pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;pf_rd_r=0R7ENYPNKKWS9ZPZ2KN8">$109.98</a>, a $20.01 savings over the regular price. The Survival Edition includes all the extras of the collector's edition, with the addition of a replica Pip-Boy digital clock.<br /><br />Like we said, if you've been waiting to get <em>Fallout 3</em>, nabbing the collector's edition for less than the standard edition is a pretty sweet deal.<br /><br />[Thanks, Alex]<br /><br /><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-3-Collectors-Xbox-360/dp/B0016BTNTQ/ref=br_lf_m_1000208101_1_1_ttl?ie=UTF8&amp;m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;s=videogames&amp;pf_rd_p=466633951&amp;pf_rd_s=center-2&amp;pf_rd_t=1401&amp;pf_rd_i=1000208101&amp;pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;pf_rd_r=0R7ENYPNKKWS9ZPZ2KN8">Source</a> - Amazon.com -- Fallout 3<em> </em>Collector's Edition<br /><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-Amazon-com-Exclusive-Survival-Xbox-360/dp/B0017QL8XE/ref=br_lf_m_1000208101_1_2_ttl?ie=UTF8&amp;m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;s=videogames&amp;pf_rd_p=466633951&amp;pf_rd_s=center-2&amp;pf_rd_t=1401&amp;pf_rd_i=1000208101&amp;pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;pf_rd_r=0R7ENYPNKKWS9ZPZ2KN8">Source</a> - Amazon.com -- Fallout 3 Survival Edition<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/05/fallout-3-collectors-edition-for-50-at-amazon-today/">Fallout 3 Collector's Edition for $50 at Amazon today</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 05 Jan 2009 13:45:00 EST. According to posters at the Slick Deals forum, Circuit City is <a href="http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=1084008">currently selling the 120GB hard drive</a> for the Xbox 360 at the staggeringly reduced price of $80. These puppies normally sell for twice that price, so it's one heck of a deal. There is a small catch though: you'll have to hoof it over to your local Circuit City if you want to get your hands on one, the deal is nowhere to be found online. In fact, we can't even find the 120GB drive listed at the Circuit City website at all. The deal isn't being advertised, but several members of the Slick Deals forums have attested to its authenticity.<br /><br />If anyone out there has managed to take advantage of the deal, let us know in the comments. You might want to act quickly. We don't know how long it will last.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://news.punchjump.com/article.php?id=7191">Punch Jump</a>. Right now the store is offering both a 720p Samsung 42" plasma HDTV and an Xbox 360 for $899.98. If you'd prefer an LCD screen, is offering the same deal for an Xbox 360 and a Samsung 720p 37" LCD HDTV, which also runs $899. The plasma and LCD TVs typically run for $1,300 and $1,200, respectively, so the offer translates to a <em>free</em> Xbox 360 Pro either way (with an extra $100 off the plasma TV to boot). The Xbox 360 is part of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/09/ms-announces-holiday-bundles-free-netflix-trial/">new holiday bundle</a>, so you'll score free copies of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/27/lego-indiana-jones-demo-now-on-xblm/"><em>LEGO Indiana Jones</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/01/kung-fu-panda-demo-crane-kicks-the-xblm/"><em>Kung Fu Panda</em></a> too.<br /><br />Granted, you'll have to give up your 1080p dreams, but it's still a mighty impressive deal.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://news.punchjump.com/article.php?id=7180">Punch Jump</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/16/best-buy-xbox-360-pro-and-42-hdtv-for-899/">Best Buy: Xbox 360 Pro and 42" HDTV for $899</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 Dec 2008 17:15:00 EST. Ahoy Canadian gamers, a tipster has informed X3F that Canadian Toys R Us stores currently have a pretty sweet deal on video games. We're not sure how long it will last, but for the moment Toys R Us is offering <a href="http://www.toysrus.ca/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=2567324&amp;cp=2567324&amp;camp=TRU_OAS_VG_BOGO">one free game with the purchase of two</a> on <em>any platform</em>. There are a few catches though (naturally). First, the second game must be of equal or lesser value, so don't go thinking you can grab a budget title and score a free copy of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fallout-3"><em>Fallout 3</em></a>. Second, the deal is valid only for games under $89.99, so no free <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/guitar-hero"><em>Guitar Hero</em></a> or <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rock-band">Rock Band</a> </em>for you.<br /><br />Don't worry US gamers, Toys R Us has <a href="http://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=2255974">a deal for you</a>, although it's not quite so sweet. Right now, when you buy one game (PS2, 360, PS3, or Wii), you can get $20 off a second game. The game does have to be at least $29.99, so again, budget titles are more or less excluded from the deal. Toys R Us is also offering free shipping for orders of $49 or more. Now go, go save money!<br /><br />[Thanks, CapNJunkie]<br /><br /><a href="http://www.toysrus.ca/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=2567324&amp;cp=2567324&amp;camp=TRU_OAS_VG_BOGO">So</a><a href="http://www.toysrus.ca/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=2567324&amp;cp=2567324&amp;camp=TRU_OAS_VG_BOGO">urce</a> -- 2-for-1 games, Toys R Us Canada<br /><a href="http://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=2255974">Source</a> -- Buy one, get one $20 off Toys R Us USA<br /><br />[<strong>Update:</strong> Correction: The Canadian deal is to buy two games to get a third game free, not buy one and get one free as we originally reported.]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/08/toys-r-us-deals-2-for-1-games-in-canada-20-off-in-us/">Toys R Us deals: Buy 2-get-1 games in Canada, $20 off in US [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 08 Dec 2008 17:45:00 EST. Play.com have <a href="http://www.play.com/Games/Games/3-/245082/2-/Promo.html?dpr=245082">slashed the price</a> on a decent number of games today. <div style="text-align: left;">No need to look at your calendar, it is only Sunday but some online retailers have decided to start offering <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyber_Monday">Cyber Monday</a> deals a day early. Stores including Best Buy, Circuit City and even Red Octane have <a href="http://forums.gottadeal.com/forumdisplay.php?f=87">Cyber Monday deals</a> available (or soon to be available). Check the break for an early listing of a few of the Xbox 360 cyber deals and feel free to share any and all deals you spot. Just comment below to inform your fellow deal searching fanboys.<br /></div>

<div align="left">Not all that waggles on Wii is gold. It turns out there's a reason we've been seeing so many Wii games in bargain bins: they're twice as likely to under-perform at retail than PS3 or 360 titles.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Study-Wii-Games-Land-In-Bargain-Bin-Faster-13542.html">Blend Games</a> has obtained a new report from Electronic Entertainment Design and Research (EEDAR) which claims that 15.1 percent of Wii titles are reduced in wholesale price by their publishers (termed "price protection") after only a short time on sale, versus 7.5% on 360 and 9.09% on PS3. <br /><br />EEDAR analyst, Jesse Divnich, suggests that the larger volume of mainstream and casual titles hitting simultaneously on Wii is part of the problem. "Most publishers typically avoid releasing their big triple-A core targeted titles against other triple-A titles, whereas it is common to see many mainstream/casual titles, targeting similar markets, released in the same week," Divnich explained.<br /><br />So, release lots of crappy games and more crappy games will end up yellow-tagged. Got it. But do publishers? Hopefully they will, sooner rather than later.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.casualgaming.biz/news/27957/Wii-games-fastest-to-bargain-bin">CasualGaming.biz</a>]<br /></div>

What's the big deal? Today, Stootsi is offering 360 Pro consoles (you know, the one with a 20GB hard drive) for a mere $189.99. Throw in $6 for shipping and you've got a <a href="http://www.stootsi.com/">helluva deal</a>. Now, before everyone runs off at once, you should know that the consoles being sold are refurbished, so buy at your own risk. They do come with a 60 day warranty, for what it's worth. We invite anyone that has bought from Stootsi before to share their experience in the comments.<br /><br />Still ... 190 smackers? That's even cheaper than the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/27/more-price-cut-proof-full-page-kmart-ad-for-299-xbox-360/">rumored price cut</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/27/hurry-snag-a-360-pro-for-190/">Hurry, snag a 360 Pro for $190</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 27 Jun 2008 13:45:00 EST. We know some of our readers here are from Canada, so we're tossing this Canadian-only promotion out to you. <a href="http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/dept.asp?logon=&amp;langid=EN&amp;catid=24334&amp;CMP=ILC-Top_Links">Best Buy</a> has a pretty sweet deal on $25 DualShock 3's -- that's a savings of more than 50 percent off. There is one catch though; you can only get the discounted price if you purchase a copy of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gran-turismo-5-prolo.../"><em>Gran Turismo 5 Prologue</em></a>. The total for the game and the controller would come out to about (we really mean <em>aboot)</em> $65, so that's roughly the same as any regular game without a controller. Definitely worth it if you've yet to own either <em>Prologue</em> or rumble for this gen.<br /><br />[Thanks farfisa!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/13/deal-of-the-day-dualshock-3-for-25/">Canadian Deal of the Day: DualShock 3 for $25</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Jun 2008 16:00:00 EST. The point? If you had to choose one or the other, which would you go for?</em><br />
<p>This week's WUR was a user submitted question that really made us think, especially coming back from our local gaming store. At 1,200 MS points a pop, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbox-originals">Xbox Originals</a> platform seems like a steep entry into the "classic" prev-gen titles. While many of the games can be found for a lot less than their digital counterpart, some of the recent additions are going to a premium price if they can be found. What we hear from the community is that the pricing structure of the XBO program is out of <em>wack</em> for the most part.</p>
<p>This week we want you to forget about the price in the equation and consider the content only. How important is physical media to you in the wake of the increasingly digital age? Do you prefer to stack your games to line your room like a protective castle wall, or are you fed up with hard copies of the game and wish you could get everything digitally? Let's pretend we're made of money this week, if only for a moment, and ask yourself when it comes to those Xbox Originals...</p>

Well, this one comes as a surprise ... okay, not really. <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000O5FUKQ/ref=nosim/cheapassgam08-20">Amazon</a> has the abysmal <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/turok/"><em>Turok</em></a> listed on sale for US$39.99. If you order now, you'll get a free copy of the game's strategy guide. While a guide sounds like a nice incentive, it would take much more than that scant extra to entice a purchase from us.<br /><br />You know, doesn't this really makes you wonder how bad this game really is? Think about it, the game gets a third of the price slashed off within only a sliver over a month into the game's release. Our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/ps3-fanboy-review-turok/">review</a> sums it up: "Unfortunately, as it stands right now, this is a rather flawed game that hides the truly clever mechanics the team was attempting." Any brave souls willing to take this offer up?<br /><br />[Thanks, Trevor!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/04/deal-of-the-day-turok-for-40/">'Deal' of the Day: Turok for $40</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 04 Mar 2008 16:15:00 EST. We don't blame you. Those things are expensive, and for only $10 more you could buy a brand new game. That said, you'll need more controllers to enjoy some vibratory goodness while playing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rez"><em>Rez HD</em></a> next week. So, what's an enterprising gamer to do? Why not pick up a 360 wireless controller for only $24.99? The folks at Stootsi.com are <a href="http://www.stootsi.com/">offering</a> them for just that price today only, so if you want one, you'd best jump on it now. Now, before you go plopping down your hard-earned money, you should know that these are open box controllers and not necessarily in new condition. They do come with a 30-day warranty though, which is on par with what you'll see from many used game stores. Still, buy at your own risk, and please, share your opinions of Stootsi.com if you've shopped with them before.<br /><br />[Via Paranoised]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/25/friday-deal-half-price-360-controllers/">Friday deal: Half price 360 controllers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 Jan 2008 15:00:00 EST. Lines will form outside of retailers hours (some even days) in advance, shopping madness will ensue and some of the best deals will be ripe for the picking. It'll be crazy like it is every year, but if you're brave enough to venture into the Black Friday death trap then we figure the least we can do is point you in the right direction. So, we painstakingly dug through all the day after Thanksgiving ads, found all the Xbox 360 deals and posted them for you after the break. Best Buy, Circuit City, Gamestop, KB, Kmart, Radio Shack, Sears and Target ... they're all there. But you should also know that a lot of retailers (like Wal-mart and Toys R Us) will be doing online mystery deals Thursday that'll go hand in hand with their printed Black Friday offerings<br /><br />Take a gander through this year's Xbox 360 Black Friday deals and prepare to be unprepared. The black is upon us!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/20/best-of-xbox-360-black-friday-deals/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Best of Xbox 360 Black Friday deals [update2]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/20/best-of-xbox-360-black-friday-deals/">Best of Xbox 360 Black Friday deals [update2]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 20 Nov 2007 14:30:00 EST. That will be &pound;33."<br /><br />This is the conversation we imagined ourselves having with a Tesco employee on our imaginary trip to jolly old England. It could have happened too, as Tesco recently (and accidentally) <a href="http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,91221-1292253,00.html">listed</a> a killer Xbox 360 bundle for the low, low price of &pound;33.24 (~$70 US). The offer included an Xbox 360 with wireless controller, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/vivapinata"><em>Viva Pi&ntilde;ata</em></a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/forza2"><em>Forza Motorsport 2</em></a>. It was, in short, a hell of a deal. From the looks of things, someone neglected to add a zero to the bundle's price, which should have been ten times larger.<br /><br />As one might expect, the mistake has since been rectified, though not before customers managed to place orders at the discounted price. One customer had payment accepted for thirty-nine orders, though they have yet to be delivered. Apparently it is illegal for a company to change the price of a product once payment has already been accepted. The Tesco website, however, states that if a mistake in price is made, the company is not obliged to abide by the mistaken price so long as the customer is contacted prior to the item being shipped. We get the feeling there will be lots of disappointed bargain hunters out there.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/09/oops-tesco-accidentally-sells-360s-for-33/">Oops: Tesco accidentally sells 360s for £33</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 09 Nov 2007 14:30:00 EST.
