Kmart and Sears have announced a special deal in celebration of the new Xbox Live Dashboard Update, which arrives this week. Starting November 17, the same day as the update, gamers can pick up discounted Xbox Live Gold subscription cards. Three-month cards are being knocked down from $20 to $15, while twelve-month cards are dropping from $50 to $35. Not a bad deal for gamers looking to get their online gaming on the cheap -- or those looking to give it to others for the holidays.

The cards will be available only on the Sears and Kmart websites through November 21.

According to cellphone-camera equipped tipsters at Kotaku, Walmart will apparently offer a $100 gift card with the purchase of an Xbox 360 Arcade unit this Saturday. Supposedly confirmed by Cheap Ass Gamer, the promotion also includes a $148 dollar Sony-branded Blu-ray player and will run until November 13, or while supplies last. If the rumor does prove to be true, we'd recommend waiting in line now in case something happens to your current Xbox. Apparently there's no telling how long those things will last.

While the upcoming week's titles have yet to be revealed, Direct2Drive has teased us with utterly vague descriptions of what to expect:

Sadly, most video games are still only 10% off. Weak.

The WiFi adapter price will be slashed by 30%, lowering the price to a (slightly) more palatable $69.99. Sure, it's still a far cry from what typical adapters cost, but it's certainly better.

Lest you've forgotten, the collector's edition comes with a Vault Boy bobblehead, a 100 page art book, a making-of DVD and a sweet metal lunchbox (It also includes the game, which is important). If that sounds just a bit too paltry for your expensive taste, Amazon is also offering its exclusive Survival Edition for $109.98, a $20.01 savings over the regular price. The Survival Edition includes all the extras of the collector's edition, with the addition of a replica Pip-Boy digital clock.

Like we said, if you've been waiting to get Fallout 3, nabbing the collector's edition for less than the standard edition is a pretty sweet deal.

According to posters at the Slick Deals forum, Circuit City is currently selling the 120GB hard drive for the Xbox 360 at the staggeringly reduced price of $80. These puppies normally sell for twice that price, so it's one heck of a deal. There is a small catch though: you'll have to hoof it over to your local Circuit City if you want to get your hands on one, the deal is nowhere to be found online. In fact, we can't even find the 120GB drive listed at the Circuit City website at all. The deal isn't being advertised, but several members of the Slick Deals forums have attested to its authenticity.

If anyone out there has managed to take advantage of the deal, let us know in the comments. You might want to act quickly. We don't know how long it will last.

Ahoy Canadian gamers, a tipster has informed X3F that Canadian Toys R Us stores currently have a pretty sweet deal on video games. We're not sure how long it will last, but for the moment Toys R Us is offering one free game with the purchase of two on any platform. There are a few catches though (naturally). First, the second game must be of equal or lesser value, so don't go thinking you can grab a budget title and score a free copy of Fallout 3. Second, the deal is valid only for games under $89.99, so no free Guitar Hero or Rock Band for you.

Don't worry US gamers, Toys R Us has a deal for you, although it's not quite so sweet. Right now, when you buy one game (PS2, 360, PS3, or Wii), you can get $20 off a second game. The game does have to be at least $29.99, so again, budget titles are more or less excluded from the deal. Toys R Us is also offering free shipping for orders of $49 or more. Now go, go save money!

Not all that waggles on Wii is gold. It turns out there's a reason we've been seeing so many Wii games in bargain bins: they're twice as likely to under-perform at retail than PS3 or 360 titles.

Blend Games has obtained a new report from Electronic Entertainment Design and Research (EEDAR) which claims that 15.1 percent of Wii titles are reduced in wholesale price by their publishers (termed "price protection") after only a short time on sale, versus 7.5% on 360 and 9.09% on PS3.

EEDAR analyst, Jesse Divnich, suggests that the larger volume of mainstream and casual titles hitting simultaneously on Wii is part of the problem. "Most publishers typically avoid releasing their big triple-A core targeted titles against other triple-A titles, whereas it is common to see many mainstream/casual titles, targeting similar markets, released in the same week," Divnich explained.

So, release lots of crappy games and more crappy games will end up yellow-tagged. Got it. But do publishers? Hopefully they will, sooner rather than later.

The total for the game and the controller would come out to about (we really mean aboot) $65, so that's roughly the same as any regular game without a controller. Definitely worth it if you've yet to own either Prologue or rumble for this gen.

In our continuing effort to bring you fresh and interesting content, X3F presents Would You Rather ... a weekly feature that asks you the hard questions. The point? If you had to choose one or the other, which would you go for?

This week's WUR was a user submitted question that really made us think, especially coming back from our local gaming store. At 1,200 MS points a pop, the Xbox Originals platform seems like a steep entry into the "classic" prev-gen titles. While many of the games can be found for a lot less than their digital counterpart, some of the recent additions are going to a premium price if they can be found. What we hear from the community is that the pricing structure of the XBO program is out of wack for the most part.

Rockers everywhere, take note: Amazon is currently offering the Rock Band Special Edition -- which includes the game, microphone, drums, and guitar -- for $147.99. As Amazon notes, that's $22 (or 13%) off the regular price of $169.99. These kinds of deals tend to sell out quick, so all the frugal virtuosos out there had best jump on it. No, seriously, why are you still here? Go get some cheap Rock Band.

Well, this one comes as a surprise ... okay, not really. Amazon has the abysmal Turok listed on sale for US$39.99. If you order now, you'll get a free copy of the game's strategy guide. While a guide sounds like a nice incentive, it would take much more than that scant extra to entice a purchase from us.

You know, doesn't this really makes you wonder how bad this game really is? Think about it, the game gets a third of the price slashed off within only a sliver over a month into the game's release. Our review sums it up: "Unfortunately, as it stands right now, this is a rather flawed game that hides the truly clever mechanics the team was attempting." Any brave souls willing to take this offer up?

In a few days, on November 23rd, Black Friday 2007 will officially kick off and millions of dollars will be spent. Lines will form outside of retailers hours (some even days) in advance, shopping madness will ensue and some of the best deals will be ripe for the picking. It'll be crazy like it is every year, but if you're brave enough to venture into the Black Friday death trap then we figure the least we can do is point you in the right direction. So, we painstakingly dug through all the day after Thanksgiving ads, found all the Xbox 360 deals and posted them for you after the break. Best Buy, Circuit City, Gamestop, KB, Kmart, Radio Shack, Sears and Target ... they're all there. But you should also know that a lot of retailers (like Wal-mart and Toys R Us) will be doing online mystery deals Thursday that'll go hand in hand with their printed Black Friday offerings

"One Xbox 360, please."

"Very good, sir. That will be £33."

This is the conversation we imagined ourselves having with a Tesco employee on our imaginary trip to jolly old England. It could have happened too, as Tesco recently (and accidentally) listed a killer Xbox 360 bundle for the low, low price of £33.24 (~$70 US). The offer included an Xbox 360 with wireless controller, Viva Piñata, and Forza Motorsport 2. It was, in short, a hell of a deal. From the looks of things, someone neglected to add a zero to the bundle's price, which should have been ten times larger.

As one might expect, the mistake has since been rectified, though not before customers managed to place orders at the discounted price. One customer had payment accepted for thirty-nine orders, though they have yet to be delivered. Apparently it is illegal for a company to change the price of a product once payment has already been accepted. The Tesco website, however, states that if a mistake in price is made, the company is not obliged to abide by the mistaken price so long as the customer is contacted prior to the item being shipped. We get the feeling there will be lots of disappointed bargain hunters out there.
