The Halo 3 campaign made it all the way to the eighth spot, while "Mountain," with its 1,500 extras, climbed to 17th place. The PS2 spot just barely beat out the incredibly memorable US Marine Corp "Chess" ad -- yeah, the one with the wizards and knights.

Halo 3's ad campaign was certainly an achievement, with atmosphere that eclipsed anything the game eventually provided. "Believe" had all those memorable elements: the diorama (wow, that diorama), the old men reminiscing, the History Channel feel of it all. It was the type of pretentious that works -- which is more than we can say for Halo: Reach's Nair boy and his Gatorade injections. Check out the "Believe" campaign and "Mountain" ad after the break.

Rare has announced that the THQ-published Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise for the DS will be proliferating retail shelves with dirty puns on September 2 in North America and September 5 in UK and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) alongside the Xbox 360 sequel VP: Trouble in Paradise. The DS title will also "begin to filter through to the rest of the world on the 11th, with VP:TIP not far behind."

Along with the announcement, Rare also released its second Halo 3 parody, "Museum," based on the sci-fi shooters' Believe ad campaign. We've embedded the video and the previously released (and pretty funny) "Believe Pinata" video after the break.

Rare just sent word (via express pigeon airmail, no less) that the Nintendo DS edition Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise has been given a release date that should be familiar to all Viva Piñata fans. As it stands, Pocket Paradise will release to the United States on September 2nd and in Europe on September 5th, which is the exact release date for the 360's Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise. Speaking of which, Rare today also announced that Trouble in Paradise has gone gold and is currently being pressed to disc on some manufacturing line in Mexico.

Hold on, that's not all. Rare released a second Halo 3 inspired Viva Piñata BelieVe trailer titled "Museum" and we're told it was done by the voice actor for Leafos herself! Oh, how we love these BelieVe trailers ... just watch and have a good belly laugh. Har, har!

We've embedded it above for your viewing pleasure, but be warned that it contains spoilers for anyone that has not completed the campaign. The rest of us can watch with impunity. Let's get this out of the way: Do not, do not, watch this video until you've finished Halo 3. That said, if you're already got the final battle in your rear view, this is required viewing, as Halo 3's poignant, class and, at times, even moving "Believe" campaign comes to a close.

Though the whole marketing effort has been set after the events of Halo 3, this particular ad is a true postscript to the events of the game. Wow, could we be more general? Sorry, we're really trying hard not to ruin anything. Maybe it would be better if we just showed the clip.

The latest commercial from the "Believe" campaign called "Being Hunted" continues the eerie sensation like we're watching The History Channel. "Two Soldiers Reminisce" may have almost gotten us there, but this latest one feels completely like a documentary. It feels so real because they implement that classic cringe-inducing device of making the subject feel like they're back in their horrible circumstance they're talking about. You've definitely seen the concept used before in Holocaust and Rwanda genocide documentaries -- if you watch those sorts of things.

What makes the "Believe" campaign work well is it comes close to touching documentary clichés we know very well without crossing a line. Think they'll have one with a Michael Moore-type character busting into a corporate building and demanding who profited off the Halo wars? We're waiting for the one where a soldier holds a picture of his wife and says the Master Chief helped make it possible to see her again -- oh come on, you know it's coming!

Continuing the Halo 3 Believe commercial legacy are two brand new videos, "Enemy Weapon" and "Hunted". Embedded above is the Enemy Weapon commercial in which two retired UNSC soldiers take a stroll through the war museum and talk about the weapons of war. This commercial is good ... really good. The other Believe commercial gem, Hunted (which is posted after the break), is a soldier's account of a hold out where he walks through the darkened forest and talks about the time his squad was hunted by Covenant forces and could only wait for Master Chief to save them. As always, both Believe commercials roxorz and should make you either get misty eyed or make you sniffle a bit. What more can we say, give 'em a watch fanboys.

Wow, this Halo 3 battle diorama is really becoming something of its own marketing machine bringing out Halo 3's emotional underbelly. There's a lot of new news and content related to this rather large diorama, so let jump right into it.

Just launched is a brand new Halo 3 Believe website featuring an interactive view of the diorama which is being referred to as the John-117 Monument. The Believe website allows you to "fly through" the action, see all the models, take a look at the buildings and all the detail involved. Not only that, but along your journey you'll be able to capture screenshots to use as wallpapers, be able to read soldiers' battle stories, watch the recently released commercials and partake in full 360 views. It's crazy madness! We also noticed few videos that are locked until October ... we wonder what will they reveal.

The other exciting news is that a making of documentary was released (video embedded above) showcasing all the work, effort and time that was put into the diorama, but from a narrative view as if the Halo wars were real. You see, the documentary explains that the John-117 Monument diorama was created as a memorial to the numerous battles and Master Chief and took three years to build starting in the year 2607. It talks about how they accurately sculpted each figure using UNSC face scanning records, how they modeled Covenant figures after bodies they found after the battle and how they sculpted the terrain using blue prints of the area. This documentary video is simply amazing, simply creative, simply ... Halo 3. Watch it and you'll know what we mean.

Links to the first two commercials (including a lengthier 90 second Diorama TV spot), the online Believe fly through website, documentary video and other information about this Halo 3 diorama of awesomeness can be viewed over at Xbox.com. Honestly, we were skeptical at first and were unsure about all this diorama talk, but now we're in love and can't wait to finish this fight. We need a tissue.
