What's more, the collection will cost $14.99, saving players a <em>whole bunch</em> of dollars in addition to the convenience of the compilation being downloadable.<br /><br /><em>Bit.Trip Saga</em> includes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/Bit-Trip-Beat"><em>Bit.Trip Beat</em></a>, <em>Bit.Trip Core</em>, <em>Bit.Trip Void</em>, <em>Bit.Trip Runner</em>, <em>Bit.Trip Fate</em> and <em>Bit.Trip Flux</em>. If our math is correct, that's only a <em>couple</em> dollars per game in the six-game bundle. What a deal! <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-saga-3ds-0/">Bit.Trip Saga (3DS)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-saga-3ds-0/#4580608"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/3dsbtb1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-saga-3ds-0/#4580609"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/3dsbtf1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-saga-3ds-0/#4580610"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/3dsbtx1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/08/bit-trip-saga-coming-to-3ds-eshop-december-20-for-15/">Bit.Trip Saga coming to 3DS eShop December 20 for $15</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 08 Dec 2012 17:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Gaijin-Games/">Gaijin Games</a>, creator of the <em>Bit.Trip</em> series, has acquired the similarly independent <a href="http://robotubegames.com/">Robotube Games</a>. In a cheeky press release, Gaijin CEO Alex Neuse detailed plans to combine the two developers' "licenses, brands, personnel, and flavors" to "focus on creating more unique franchises faster than ever." Under the new umbrella, Gaijin will move towards bigger projects, while Robotube (currently working on an iPad puzzler called <em>Bloktonik</em>) will "keep the creative juices flowing."<br />
<br />
There was already a working relationship here, and Mr. Robotube was actually <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/05/bit-trip-fate-is-an-on-rails-shmup-super-meat-boy-to-make-guest/">a playable character in <em>Bit.Trip Fate</em></a>. Neuse promises more news about future projects from both teams will come out of next week's Game Developers Conference.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/24/gaijin-games-acquires-robotube-games-hints-at-gdc-announcements/">Gaijin Games acquires Robotube Games, hints at GDC announcements</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 Feb 2011 09:00:00 EST. Trip Fate</em> didn't give you a clear enough idea about the game, you'll be able to try it yourself at no cost on November 22. That's when Nintendo of America brings back last year's WiiWare demo program.<br />
<br />
Next Monday, in addition to <em>Fate</em>, you'll be able to download demos for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/thruspace">ThruSpace</a></em>, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/jett-rocket">Jett Rocket</a></em>, and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/and-yet-it-moves">And Yet It Moves</a></em>. Like the new demo program in Europe, these demos will only be available for a limited time, and will be rotated out regularly. That means that you should download every demo that you see, just in case you decide you want to try it out later. Or is that just us?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/18/wiiware-demo/">Nintendo tries WiiWare demos again in North America Nov. 22</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Nov 2010 11:00:00 EST. Trip Runner</a></em>, the last game in Gaijin Games' six-part WiiWare series, appeared to be about freedom, with blue skies and open spaces abounding -- but there was literally only one correct path through any level, and the game dictated with exacting detail the timing of your movements on that path. In contrast, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bit-trip-fate"><em>Bit. Trip Fate</em></a> is all gloomy, subterranean worlds, with Commander Video trapped both inside a glowing sphere and held to an explicit path -- but the player has both more freedom of movement and more freedom to make mistakes.<br />
<br />
I don't really have a point to make here; I just wanted to start my review with something other than "<em>Bit. Wii owners who enjoy trippy, pixelated visuals, dubstep music and <em>tears</em> can download <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bit-trip-fate"><em>Bit.Trip Fate</em></a> today and learn a whole new way to be punished by Gaijin Games! In a good way. But if you'd rather substitute calm contemplation of the sky for rage, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/28/hudsons-planetarium-lighting-wiiware-sky/">My Planetarium</a></em> is there for you too. <br />
<br />
Actually, the two might make good companion pieces -- when you can no longer handle seeing Commander Video fall out of the sky, you can read about the stars that have managed to stay up there for billions of years. And then you can go outside, guided by your DSi and <em>Flashlight</em>, and find a spot to look at the real sky. We're kidding, of course. Don't buy <em>Flashlight</em>.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-fate-10-25/">Bit.Trip Fate (10/25/10)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-fate-10-25/#3504474"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/i26040_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-fate-10-25/#3504475"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/i26041_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-fate-10-25/#3504476"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/i26042_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-fate-10-25/#3504477"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/i26043_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-fate-10-25/#3504478"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/i26044_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/25/nintendoware-weekly-bit-trip-fate-my-planetarium/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Bit.Trip Fate, My Planetarium</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/25/nintendoware-weekly-bit-trip-fate-my-planetarium/">NintendoWare Weekly: Bit.Trip Fate, My Planetarium</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Oct 2010 10:27:00 EST. Trip Fate</a></em>, the fifth entry in the outrageously difficult WiiWare game series, will be released in North America on October 25, for 800 Wii Points ($8).<br />
<br />
<em>Fate</em> is "a much darker episode in our hero's life," Neuse said in the release date announcement, "and is full of depressing themes, dreary hidden messages, sad music, and an overall gloomy theme. YOU'LL LOVE IT!" It's also a side-scrolling shooter that uses the Wiimote's pointer to aim. And it's (we're guessing) <em>painfully</em> difficult.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-fate/">Bit. "We don't have the final release date for <em>Bit. Trip Fate</em> just yet," Neuse said, "but if I were a betting man, I'd put my potato chips on Oct. 18 for a North American release. Or thereabouts."<br />
<br />
As for that early soundtrack release: it was intentional, done partially "because we'd never done it that way before!" and because it was designed to help players "[build] a relationship with the more somber, darker theme."<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-fate/">Bit. Other than a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/28/gaijin-games-teases-bit-trip-fate-coming-to-wiiware-this-fall/">teaser image and a fall release</a> window, we've heard little to nothing on the next <em>Bit.Trip</em> title from Gaijin Games, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/bit-trip-fate">Fate</a></em>. That all changed this past week with the reveal of the game's premise and its first gameplay trailer on <a href="http://bittripgame.com/bittrip-fate.html">the developer's website</a>. <br />
<br />
<em>Fate</em> will have players controlling CommanderVideo along a guided path (in 2D), aiming and firing his various weapons by pointing the Wiimote at the screen. The game also features "appearances from <em>Super Meat Boy</em> and Mr. Robotube," as well as a kickin' dubstep soundtrack that, frankly, we've been jamming too since we first found out about. <em>Bit.Trip Fate</em> may not be out until sometime this fall, but you can pick up its jams <em><a href="http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/gaijingames5">right now</a></em>.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bit-trip-fate/">Bit. Put your thinking caps on, friends -- it's time to get to work on dissecting the image seen above. The photo in question was recently emailed to fans of indie dev Gaijin Games as a teaser for the next entry in its musically-inclined series, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/bit-trip-fate"><em>Bit.Trip Fate</em></a>. The email accompanying the image included a challenge from Gaijin, who stated "the discerning BIT.TRIPPER will be able to figure it all out." We consider ourselves pretty hardcore fans of the franchise, and, wow, we have absolutely <em>no idea</em> what's going on up there.<br />
<br />
The <a href="http://www.gaijingames.com/?p=1546">game's official site</a> mentions the title will receive a WiiWare release sometime this fall, so less cryptic information on <em>Fate</em> should surface soon. In the mean time, we're just going to assume it's a game about a snake made of light which likes to eat lava.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/28/gaijin-games-teases-bit-trip-fate-coming-to-wiiware-this-fall/">Gaijin Games teases Bit.Trip Fate, coming to WiiWare this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 28 Aug 2010 15:00:00 EST. Its whole fall Wii lineup now has solid release dates, with newly dated games including:
<ul>
    <li><em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/kirbys-epic-yarn">Kirby's Epic Yarn</a></em>: October 17</li>
    <li><em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/wii-party">Wii Party</a></em>: October 3</li>
    <li><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pokepark-wii">PokePark Wii</a></em>: November 1</li>
    <li><em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/flingsmash">FlingSmash</a></em>: November 7</li>
    <li><em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/donkey-kong-country-returns">Donkey Kong Country Returns</a></em>: November 21</li>
</ul>
On DS, <em><a href="http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/6wqIbzCmluiHj6kL5PNU2hDcX4i4fh11">Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem</a></em> has been given a November 14 date. But Nintendo didn't stop there with the announcements: we now know we can expect <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/super-meat-boy">Super Meat Boy</a></em> for WiiWare and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/shantae-riskys-revenge">Shantae: Risky's Revenge</a></em> for DSiWare this holiday season (which was previously announced, but it's good to know that game is still on track). Also ... <em>Bit. Trip Fate</em> this fall! That's right, not content with merely giving release dates to games we knew about, Nintendo went ahead and announced someone else's unannounced game. And that's why we love these press releases.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/17/nintendo-dates-q4-lineup-announces-bit-trip-fate/">Nintendo dates Q4 lineup, announces Bit.Trip Fate</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 17 Aug 2010 09:30:00 EST.
