Nearly everything in Gaijin Games' esteemed Bit.Trip series has been marked down on Steam, from now until Monday, May 20.<br />
<br />
For instance: <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/sub/18772/"><em>Bit.Trip Collection</em></a>, which includes <em>Bit.Trip Beat</em>, <em>Bit.Trip Runner</em>, <em>Bit.Trip Core</em> and <em>Bit.Trip Void</em>, has had its price cut by 75% and is now just $11.98. Likewise, all of those games can be purchased individually at a discounted price of $2.49. Even last year's gorgeous <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/218060/"><em>Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien</em></a> has had its price dropped to less than $12 - we recommend <em>gettin' while the gettin's good</em>, as our very southern mom would say.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/09/bit-trip-games-25-to-75-off-on-steam-until-may-20/">Bit.Trip games 25-to-75% off on Steam until May 20</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 09 May 2013 23:00:00 EST. What's more, the collection will cost $14.99, saving players a <em>whole bunch</em> of dollars in addition to the convenience of the compilation being downloadable.<br /><br /><em>Bit.Trip Saga</em> includes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/Bit-Trip-Beat"><em>Bit.Trip Beat</em></a>, <em>Bit.Trip Core</em>, <em>Bit.Trip Void</em>, <em>Bit.Trip Runner</em>, <em>Bit.Trip Fate</em> and <em>Bit.Trip Flux</em>. If our math is correct, that's only a <em>couple</em> dollars per game in the six-game bundle. How timely! One day before Takahashi Meijin <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/23/toshiyuki-takahashi-aka-master-higgins-to-leave-hudson/">leaves his post</a> as Hudson Soft's resident PR expert/hero/mascot, Nintendo has released a Virtual Console game starring Takahashi (or, as he's called here, "Master Higgins"), namely <em>Super Adventure Island.</em><br />
<br />
On DSiWare, we get to experience one of the most delightfully random release days since the service started. There's a game about parking cars with an early GTA-style top-down view, an A-Team pastiche, and an episodic <em>House, M.D.</em> adventure game. Examine the full list of releases after the break.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/house-m-d-globetrotting/">House, M.D. - Globetrotting (DSiWare)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/house-m-d-globetrotting/#4174003"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/05/house53001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/house-m-d-globetrotting/#4174004"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/05/house53002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/house-m-d-globetrotting/#4174005"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/05/house53003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/house-m-d-globetrotting/#4174006"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/05/house53004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/30/nintendoware-weekly-super-adventure-island-house-valet-parkin/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Super Adventure Island, House, Valet Parking 1989</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/30/nintendoware-weekly-super-adventure-island-house-valet-parkin/">NintendoWare Weekly: Super Adventure Island, House, Valet Parking 1989</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 30 May 2011 09:55:00 EST. Coinciding with that amazing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/05/bit-trip-runner-wiiware-trailer/"><em>Bit.Trip Runner </em>trailer</a>, its predecessor <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/bit-trip-void"><em>Bit.Trip Void</em></a> is now avaiable on WiiWare, along with the authentically NES-style <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/mega-man-10"><em>Mega Man 10</em></a>! There's even a <em>real</em> retro game available on Virtual Console -- a pretty good one, at that.<br />
<br />
The theme even extends to DSiWare, where you can get <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/dark-void-zero"><em>Dark Void Zero</em></a>, a promotional game that outshines the game it was meant to promote. You can play it on the DSi XL, which was released in Europe today!<br />

The next <em>Bit.Trip</em> game is now available on WiiWare, DSiWare receives another heaping serving of <em>Electroplankton</em>, and Virtual Console welcomes ... <em>Super Mario Kart</em>. We guess when Nintendo said "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/21/report-mario-kart-pilotwings-and-smash-bros-coming-to-virtual/">by year's end</a>" it meant "next week." See the full, seasonally appropriate <em>bounty </em>after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/23/nintendoware-weekly-bit-trip-void-super-mario-kart-a-boy-and/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Bit.Trip Void, Super Mario Kart, A Boy and His Blob</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/23/nintendoware-weekly-bit-trip-void-super-mario-kart-a-boy-and/">NintendoWare Weekly: Bit.Trip Void, Super Mario Kart, A Boy and His Blob</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 23 Nov 2009 10:00:00 EST. "That's right, the week of Thanksgiving!" the announcement notes. "Total sweetness in the village." Like <em>Beat </em>and <em>Core</em>, it'll cost 600 Wii Points.<br />
<br />
If you like the music from the <em>Bit.Trip</em> games, you'll also be delighted to know that the soundtrack for <em>Bit.Trip: Beat</em> is now available for purchase on <a href="http://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/browserRedirect?url=itms%253A%252F%252Fax.itunes.apple.com%252FWebObjects%252FMZStore.woa%252Fwa%252FviewAlbum%253Fid%253D337281740%2526s%253D143441">iTunes</a> and <a href="http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/GaijinGames">CDBaby</a>, with releases to follow on pretty much every online and mobile music retailer you've ever heard of, and several you haven't.<br />
<br />
Finally, proving its allegiance to the chiptune community. Gaijin Games announced that it will sponsor this year's <a href="http://blipfestival.org/2009/front">Blip Festival</a> in New York City. Just <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/castlevania-the-adventure-rebirth"><em>Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth</em></a> would be enough to make this week remarkable, but Game Arts' <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/20/shadow-walker-boy-of-shadow-girl-of-light-trailer-of-game/"><em>Shadow Walker</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/bit-trip-void"><em>Bit.Trip VOID</em></a> are available as well, along with an oddity from D3!<br /><br />Not enough? How about four Virtual Console games, including a <em>Sonic &amp; Knuckles</em> with the lock-on feature intact? Or a budget DSiWare game about blowing up asteroids to save the Earth?<br />

<div align="left">Proving that the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bit-trip"><em>Bit.Trip</em></a> is far from reaching its destination, Nintendo has <a href="http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20090915006514/en">listed</a> two additional games in the pixel-celebrating series for WiiWare. (We already <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/15/gaijin-games-hints-at-bit-trip-void-release-date-next-game/">got a hint at another</a> this morning, bringing the total number of <em>Trips </em>we'll be going on to three.)<br />
<br />
The Big N has the already announced <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bit-trip-void">Bit.Trip: Void</a> </em>down for Q3 2009 release, noting that "three additional titles" in the franchise will arrive sometime in Q4 2009 and into Q1 2010. We already know from our chat with Gaijin Games that one of the trio is based on an old-school Atari title -- the other two are anyone's guess. We're betting on the sixth game being <em>Bit.Trip: Trip</em>, in which players must guide a lone pixel home through all of the previous <em>Bit.Trip </em>games.</div>

He wasn't entirely sure, because <em>nobody</em> is when it comes to downloadable Nintendo releases, but he told us, "If I were to guess, it would be mid-October. We wanted to push that release date back."<br />
<br />
Roush said that Gaijin is shooting for a simultaneous worldwide release for the <em>Ikaruga</em>-ish dot-absorbing game, after receiving some "flak" from impatient European fans. While we were chatting, we tried our wiliest interview techniques to try to extract some hints about the next <em>Bit.Trip </em>title -- which is to say we asked for hints about the next <em>Bit. Trip </em>title. "I will not give you a hint," Roush said. "However, it is the game we all wanted to make when we started Gaijin Games. It's the game we've been waiting for... I <em>will </em>give you a hint: it will be based off of an Atari game."<br />
<br />
And no, it isn't <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warlords_%28video_game%29"><em>Warlords</em></a>. We asked.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/15/gaijin-games-hints-at-bit-trip-void-release-date-next-game/">Austin GDC 2009: Gaijin Games hints at Bit.Trip: Void release date, next game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 Sep 2009 14:15:00 EST.
