The official Japanese site for Nintendo's Wii has updated again, with more of those experience videos they've made us so <a href="http://us.wii.com/experience_gallery.jsp">accustomed</a> to. This time around, we get to catch an <a href="http://wii.com/jp/movies/dktj-01-jp-a/">eye</a> <a href="http://wii.com/jp/movies/dktj-01-jp-b/">full</a> of people playing a game that has, to be honest, failed to really excite us. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/02/dk-bongo-blast-fires-off-the-screens/">Screens</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/15/completely-unexciting-dk-jet-videos/">video</a> alike have failed to do that. <br /><br />Surely, all of you don't feel the same, right?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/18/dk-jet-experience-videos/">DK Jet experience videos</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 18 Jun 2007 17:30:00 EST. The former <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gamecube">GameCube</a> title's official site has several videos illustrating its new control scheme with the Wii remote and nunchuck -- drum both to tear through the course at breakneck speeds of 30 mph, waggle with only one hand to veer right into a wall, and put them back down when you decide to play <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=mario+kart"><em>Mario Kart DS</em></a> instead!<br /><br />There are a lot of movies and sections at the site that haven't been revealed yet, so there's still plenty of opportunities for <em>DK Jet</em> to impress us before its June 28th release in Japan. If you listen to the ridiculous noises Donkey Kong makes with every jump, however, it sounds like the depressed groan of a gorilla who just wants to go home. Throw a barrel past the post break for one of the demonstration clips we grabbed.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/15/completely-unexciting-dk-jet-videos/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Completely unexciting DK Jet videos</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/15/completely-unexciting-dk-jet-videos/">Completely unexciting DK Jet videos</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 15 Jun 2007 14:00:00 EST. This corroborates an <a href="http://wii.ign.com/articles/784/784665p1.html">IGN report</a> to the same effect, and is also totally, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Totally_Rad">totally rad</a>. Here's the full list of Nintendo's planned 2007 releases. <em>Donkey Kong Taru Jet Race</em> is slated for June 28, and the rest are all "2007":<br />

Keep checking with us for news of the inevitable <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/delay">delays</a> of about half of these. Seriously, that's a <em>lot</em> of first-party Nintendo games for just half a year or so. Aw, we just made ourselves sad with our own skepticism. Still, if half of this stuff does get released in Japan this year, it'll be great news and do a pretty good job of ending any <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/30/wii-warm-up-drought-or-growing-pains/">drought</a> that may or may not be happening.<br /><br /><font color="red">Update:</font> fixed some italics and formatting.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/01/the-big-three-are-coming-in-2007-to-japan/">'The big three' ARE coming in 2007 (to Japan)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 May 2007 11:25:00 EST. Now, thanks to <a href="http://www.thewiire.com/news/695/1/Famitsu_Reveals_New_DK_Bongo_Blast_Details">the announcement of</a> <em>Donkey Kong Bongo Blast</em> on the Wii you can enjoy all the bongo action without putting your poor hands and wrists through the stress of actually having to play the bongos.<br /><br />Details on the game, which was originally <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/11/donkey-kong-bongo-blast-release-notes/">revealed a year ago</a> for the 'Cube, were found in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/famitsu">Famitsu</a></em> scans by <a href="http://www.thewiire.com/">The Wiire</a>. (The only thing worse than bongos: Titles created specifically for the Wii.) The new bongo title is a racing game where you'll shake the Wiimote and Nunchuk to accelerate, shake one harder than the other to turn and lift both to jump. Now, doesn't that sound a lot more fun than playing with some dumb old bongos? There's a four-person multiplayer mode, so you can spare your friends the palm soreness too! There's no mention of the game supporting the GameCube's bongo controller and we sure hope it stays that way when the game's released in Japan on June 28. We don't know if there will be a U.S. release yet, but we'll keep our reddened, bongo-battered fingers crossed.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/19/new-dk-bongo-game-does-away-with-pesky-bongos/">New DK bongo game does away with pesky bongos</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 19 Apr 2007 11:30:00 EST. Players will shake their remotes and nunchucks at the same time to accelerate, rattle one of the controllers when steering to the left or right, and lift both pieces to jump. <br /><br />This modified control setup makes a lot of sense, but does it sound fun? In our opinion, this seems like it would have been better left on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gamecube">GameCube</a>. It'd be appreciated if developer Paon would give us the choice to use our old bongos, but with no mention of the option yet for the, it's doubtful.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/16/dk-bongo-blasts-bothersome-controls/">DK Bongo Blast's bothersome controls</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 16 Apr 2007 10:45:00 EST. Instead, Matt says we already have a pair of bongos in the Wiimote and nunchuk attachment. Makes sense ...<br /><br />Will the exclusion of bongo use for Donkey Kong's next game kill the fun factor? Or will the Wiimote and nunchuk be a suitable replacement?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/05/no-bongos-for-new-dk-game-on-wii/">No bongos for new DK game on Wii?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 05 Feb 2007 13:45:00 EST. It's a nice reminder that gaming isn't all "up up down down" and that sometimes you can have a little fun <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/26/rezs-trance-vibrator-not-sexual/">with the controller</a> as well as with the game.<br /><br />Of course, collecting multiple peripherals, one for each game, quickly becomes a hassle -- will next-gen's out of the box accessories render a cupboardful of controllers unnecessary? Or will we see some manufacturers continue to make third-party peripherals because their games simply aren't possible otherwise? Perhaps it'll be a bit of both -- the thought of playing <em>Guitar Hero</em> with a PS3 joypad, or dance games with the Wii, has us reaching for our plug-in accessories already.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/13/innovative-controllers-rounded-up/">Innovative controllers rounded up</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 Sep 2006 12:00:00 EST.
