Origin for Mac will eventually evolve, offering a similar experience for Mac users as already seen on PC. In its current form, however, the Mac client does not include the ability to stream gameplay directly to Twitch or purchase software. According to the Origin FAQ, those features will be added soon.

Origin for Mac requires OS X 10.6.8 or newer, with an Intel Core Duo 2 processor or better.

As a reward for those willing to test the client, EA is giving away a copy of Popcap's Bookworm to all downloaders, so log in and download it while you can. Spaces are limited.

All of our favorite time-thieving addictions are present -- from Plants vs. Zombies to Bookworm to Bejeweled 2 -- as well as a handful of other games totaling 13 in all. There's no cutoff date given for the bundle's sale, but we'd suggest snapping it up sooner than later. That is, if you're looking to say goodbye to everything for a little while.

Sure, they'll be out later on retail shelves (December 1, 2009 for Bookworm and Q1 2010 for Bejeweled Twist), but if you're going to score yourself a new DSi, your significant other can never know this. They can never, ever know.

But now Peggle: Dual Shot has found us, and PopCap isn't stopping there.

The company told Forbes that it is planning DS versions of Bejeweled Twist, the latest iteration of its hit block puzzle game, and Bookworm, a block/word puzzle game about creating words from fallen tiles, for release this holiday season. No specifics were given, but these two small, casual puzzle games would certainly be killer apps for DSiWare.

Good news for word nerds: Popcap's Scrabble-esque casual game Bookworm is now available for mobile phones in the UK and US. Boring Thanksgiving gatherings can now be ameliorated with hours of word-forming fun on your cellphone, while your Aunt tells her "funny story" for the umpteenth time.

Previously only available on PC, Mac, and Blackberries, the new Bookworm Mobile incorporates control schemes specifically tailored to the limitations of cellphone interfaces. The game also now references the Oxford English Dictionary, and can recognize nearly 140,000 words. T-Mobile will be providing the title in the UK, and all major mobile carriers in the US carry the game.

Apologies in advance for the impending and/or relapsed addictions. Bookworm was bad enough when it was tethered to PCs. Now that it's portable, the dependency is only going to get worse.
