For every <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/batman-arkham-asylum"><em>Batman: Arkham Asylum</em></a> or <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/epic-mickey"><em>Epic Mickey</em></a>, there's got to be someone out there <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/29/we-play-craves-pre-e3-games-so-you-dont-have-to/">bringing shoddy licensed games</a> to the floor of E3. Bless Crave Entertainment then, because the publisher was back at it this year, showing off titles based on Discovery Channel's <em>Deadliest Catch</em> and <em>Man vs. Wild TV</em> shows, and a Brunswick-licensed PlayStation Move bowling game. The trio was quite generally terrible -- unpolished, unfinished, pretty blatant attempts to take a familiar name, slap it on some semblance of gameplay and make a few bucks from people buying something for the name on it.<br />
<br />
So don't read the rest of this post because you're thinking of buying any of these games -- even if you happen to be a <em>Deadliest Catch</em> or <em>Man vs. Wild</em> fan, there are better and more enjoyable ways to spend your time with the properties (like, you know, <em>watching the shows</em>, which are both pretty well done). Instead, read on about the three most awkward moments of my time spent in Crave's E3 booth.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/29/preview-craves-e3-lineup-featuring-deadliest-catch-man-vs-w/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Preview: Crave's E3 lineup, featuring Deadliest Catch, Man vs. Wild and Brunswick Pro Bowling</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/29/preview-craves-e3-lineup-featuring-deadliest-catch-man-vs-w/">Preview: Crave's E3 lineup, featuring Deadliest Catch, Man vs. Wild and Brunswick Pro Bowling</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 Jun 2010 08:00:00 EST. We're sorry if the above headline is misleading, but we feel we should inform you of two things. One, Crave has not announced a game show entitled "Bowling for Natal," so don't expect to see everyday schlubs competing for a <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/project-natal">Natal</a> on daytime TV anytime soon. Two, what Crave <em>has</em> announced, according to <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2010/05/28/brunswick-pro-bowling-getting-natal-support/">Multiplayer</a>, is a bowling game that will <em>support</em> Microsoft's Project Natal.<br />
<br />
More specifically, it's actually a Natal-ified version of <em>Brunswick Pro Bowling</em>, the PlayStation Move bowling title <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/17/toy-story-3-brunswick-pro-bowling-added-to-playstation-move-lin/">revealed earlier this year</a>. While it was essentially inevitable that Natal would receive some kind of bowling game, we can't help but wonder how strange it will be to pretend to bowl without <em>something</em> to hold on to. If only there was some peripheral, something <em>tangible</em> we could use to enhance the experience.<br />
<br />
But wait, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/04/cta-digitals-wii-bowling-ball-is-perfect-for-boxing/">there is</a>!</em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/28/crave-announces-bowling-for-natal/">Crave announces bowling for Natal</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 28 May 2010 22:00:00 EST. Sony has <a href="http://us.playstation.com/ps3/playstation-move/index.htm">added two titles</a> to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/playstation-move">PlayStation Move</a>'s launch lineup that we haven't seen before. Not only will you be able to get your Move on in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/slider"><em>Slider</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/sports-champions"><em>Sports Champions</em></a> and all of the other announced launch titles, but we can now add Disney-Pixar's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/toy-story-3"><em>Toy Story 3</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/brunswick-pro-bowling"><em>Brunswick Pro Bowling</em></a> into the mix as well. <em>Toy Story 3</em> is of course a tie-in to the movie, and <em>Brunswick</em> is in there because you can't have a motion controller in 2010 without a bowling game attached.<br />
<br />
No seriously, you can't. Which is weird, because <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/17/kevin-butler-shows-that-playstation-move-only-does-time-travel/">the future of gaming</a> sure does look a lot like <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Brunswick-Pro-Bowling-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B000QJLQBM">the 2007 of gaming</a>. Only with better graphics.<br />
