He says so right on his new Tumblr called "I Love Games You Guys," which is where Ward plans to "interview people who work on games."

Apparently it's also where he plans to post adorable video game gifs, starting with Mario. Ward is gearing up for his first interview with Charles Martinet, who has provided the voice of Mario since 1994. I Love Games You Guys is a community effort, with Ward asking readers if they can help him snag contacts or make connections with interviewees in the industry.

Considering there's an Adventure Time game on its way, maybe Ward should interview himself. If you have a helpful connection or just want to watch Mario stick a plunger on his face for a few hours, check out Ward's Tumblr right here.
Adventure Time creator loves games, you guys, and started this Tumblr originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 26 Aug 2012 19:30:00 EST. We've come a long, long way from the opening days of the PlayStation Home Theater space, where the debut trailer for Twilight played in an endless cycle of brain-melting teen melodrama. Today, if you drop by the networking service's silver screens, you'll be able to view some programming that's probably more in your wheelhouse -- clips from Adult Swim's Mego-infused comedy series, Robot Chicken.

Whether or not you enjoy Seth Green's stop-motion brainchild, we think we can all agree that it's a step up from teasers for vampiric romance novel adaptations. Unfortunately, we're physically incapable of watching Robot Chicken without succumbing to waves of nausea, a side-effect from our youthful diet of G.I. Joes.
Robot Chicken coming to PlayStation Home Theater originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 10 Sep 2009 14:30:00 EST. Confirming our suspicions of a forthcoming game based on Cartoon Network show Metalocalypse, Konami is this week announcing its intentions to publish Metalocalypse: Dethgame for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. The show's creator, Brendon Small, confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that he's been working with Konami to produce the upcoming downloadable title from developer Frozen Codebase.

Rather than playing as Metalocalypse's lead characters, Small says you'll be controlling a "band of roadies" fighting in honor of the show's fictional band, Dethklok. Konami will allegedly be announcing the game later this week at the San Diego Comic Con.
Konami publishing Metalocalypse: Dethgame on PSN, XBLA originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 20 Jul 2009 19:45:00 EST. The world's most famous band, Dethklok, is set to invade the games market, as a recent trademark filing by Cartoon Network suggests. This downloadable title will be called METALOCALYPSE: DETHGAME, and could be as jarring and invasive as something spelled with all capital letters suggests. Oh, and we're sure there will be blood. Lots of blood and guts, because that's metal.

The trademark suggests describes DETHGAME as "downloadable video games distributed via the internet," though no other specific information was mentioned. So, we're not sure if this potential game is planned for PC only, or if it will arrive on home consoles. With the creators of the show forming their own game company, we wonder if they'll have a hand in this.

Turner and Cartoon Network today launched FusionFall, the network's first foray into the MMO world. The game, which features re-imagined characters from CN shows including Ben 10, Dexter's Laboratory, Powepuff Girls, Samurai Jack and others, is browser-based and developed by Korean studio Grigon Entertainment.

FusionFall offers a free-to-play area for users to get a taste of the action before deciding if the monthly subscription (which starts at $5.95) is worth it or not. In our admittedly brief time with the game's beta last year, we found the combination of Phantasy Star Online style combat and platform game elements surprisingly appealing. (Especially considering that the game is primarily aimed at kids and those in their early teens, i.e. not us.)

For a deeper glimpse into FusionFall, our friendly neighborhood MMO gurus at Massively have put together a really swell guided tour of the game, which you can toon into by clicking here.

This might be hard to spot. Click on the image above to see a still frame from a recently released PS3 ad. It goes over all the features of the PS3, such as being able to shop on the PLAYSTATION Store. But look very carefully in the back. This picture of the Store features icons from various TV networks, such as NBC, Cartoon Network, HBO and the CW.

Sony has said time and time again that they're interested in delivering video content on the Store. Could this be an indication of what's to come? (Xbox Live Video Marketplace currently offers videos from all of these content providers.) Or, is this an overenthusiastic mock-up?

Check out the original trailer, after the cut.

[Thanks, Anthony S.!]
Continue reading Sharp eyes spot downloadable TV shows in PS3 ad

Sharp eyes spot downloadable TV shows in PS3 ad originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 12 May 2008 19:00:00 EST. This time, it seem everyone's favorite clump of souls has rolled onto cable television, with the Cartoon Network program Chowder presenting an extended Katamari-esque sequence involving a rather large piece of bubblegum.

Chowder is the latest in a long line of original Cartoon Network animated shows, created by the mind behind Spongebob Squarepants and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. The show is about an apprentice cook named Chowder. In fact, every character is named after food. There's a girl named Panini. Panini. The game received mediocre scores when it first hit stores last August, but a couple publications reviewed the Shin'en-developed puzzler favorably (Nintendo Power gave it an 8.0 out of 10).

GameStop currently has Pet Alien on sale at its online shop for $9.99, and they'll even ship it for free if you put in "SAVER" as a coupon code. Priced that low, this might be worth trying out. Even if cartoon-licensed games aren't your thing, this seems like a great, cheap gift for a younger sibling/kid/brat. Head past the post break for Pet Alien's trailer.
Continue reading Pet Alien: An Intergalactic Ten-dollar-palooza

Pet Alien: An Intergalactic Ten-dollar-palooza originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 16 Nov 2007 13:10:00 EST. Cartoon Network's adult swim website is being plastered with ads for the new PSP. Good thing -- the adult swim demographic is exactly what Sony needs to target to keep PSP momentum strong. Check out Bertrum's Almanack, which provides some "fun facts" to listeners. Unfortunately, the site says that "Bertrum's Almanack not available on PSP system." But, games like NBA 08 and Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow are. Hopefully, this campaign is one of many Sony's planning to promote their handheld.
Sony starts extensive PSP campaign on adult swim originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 11 Oct 2007 14:00:00 EST.
