<div style="text-align: left; ">It's probably fair to say that few things would excite internet dweebs like us more than television and film streaming service <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/hulu">Hulu</a> arriving on a gaming console already connected to the internet and, more importantly, to our televisions. Tech site <a href="http://www.gearlive.com/news/article/hulu-xbox-live-e3-q310/">Gear Live</a> has a rumor that Hulu streaming functionality <em>is</em> coming to the Xbox 360, to be announced at this year's E3. <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3179594">1UP</a> has a similar rumor that reads "a Hulu application for the Xbox 360 definitely exists" -- unfortunately, said application is allegedly being held back by rights issues with Hulu's content owners (read: NBC, CBS, etc.).<br />
<br />
Both sites source an anonymous person "close to Microsoft" as the origin of the rumor -- perhaps embittered <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/25/j-allard-and-robbie-bach-officially-exit-microsoft/">soon-to-be ex-employees Robbie Bach and J. Allard</a> have hit the streets with huge leaks?! Yeah, we don't think so either. Regardless, we've reached out to Microsoft for the inevitable "We don't comment on rumors or speculation," but we'll let you know what the company <em>officially</em> says of the rumors if we hear back.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update:</strong> Microsoft responded with "We don't comment on rumor or speculation." Surprise!<br />

The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/28/pitch-a-no-hitter-in-mlb-2k10-get-a-million-bucks/">million-dollar prize</a> for the first player to pitch a perfect game has been claimed, and 2K Sports will reveal the winner on CBS's <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/earlyshow/main500202.shtml"><em>The Early Show</em></a> tomorrow morning. Although if you're the modern-day Cy Young who achieved this feat, you already <em>know </em>(and, in fact, you'll be too busy appearing on TV to watch it on TV), and if you tried to win this but didn't quite make it, it's just going to be painful to see the person who won.<br />
<br />
If you'd like to experience that burning jealousy for yourself, tune into CBS between 8 and 9 a.m.<br />

CBS announced today that it's bringing a wide array of its TV programming to the video game world, mainly via the PC, Wii and DS. As you can see after the break, the company revealed equally insipid-sounding game versions of <em>Survivor</em>, <em>Hollywood Squares</em>, <em>The Amazing Race, </em>and <em>Criminal Minds</em>, but we don't see how we're supposed to care about any of it when it was also revealed that a <em>Diagnosis Murder </em>game is in the works.<br />
<br />
We're assuming it's a Visceral-developed "dark" take on the <em>DM</em> mythos, with a Gothic Dr. Mark Sloan walking a demonic version of Los Angeles, solving murder mysteries with a caduceus-shaped staff dipped in angel blood. We assume this because we laid out the design doc <em>pretty</em> clearly in our letters, and we can't fathom why CBS would want to disappoint us.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/04/cbs-bringing-diagnosis-murder-to-gaming-platforms/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>CBS bringing Diagnosis Murder, some other stuff to gaming platforms</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/04/cbs-bringing-diagnosis-murder-to-gaming-platforms/">CBS bringing Diagnosis Murder, some other stuff to gaming platforms</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 04 Nov 2009 05:00:00 EST. If you've always wanted to get elbow-deep inside a human chest cavity in the name of <em>scientific justice</em>, here comes your shining moment. Ubisoft and CBS are teaming up once again to release the seventh gaming adaptation of the popular crime-solving TV show, <a href="http://www.telltalegames.com/community/blogs/id-475">titled <em>CSI: Deadly Intent</em></a> (the debut trailer for which is posted after the break).<br /><br />This time around, Telltale Games is developing it for the Wii, DS, 360 and PC, and it guest stars Lawrence Fishburne as lead investigator Dr. Raymond Langston. Sounds like a recipe for success. We bet it'll make (puts on sunglasses) <em>a killing</em> in the NPDs.<br /><br />"<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sarYH0z948">YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHH</a>!"<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/csi-deadly-intent/">CSI: Deadly Intent (Xbox 360)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/csi-deadly-intent/#2153059"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/csidi_360_case3_crimescene_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/csi-deadly-intent/#2153058"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/csidi_360__stokesbrass_interrogation_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/csi-deadly-intent/#2153057"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/csidi_360__lab_stokes_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/csi-deadly-intent/#2153056"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/csidi_360_morgue_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/csi-deadly-intent/#2153055"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/csidi_360_crime_scene_langston-vic_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/19/ubisoft-and-telltale-serving-up-justice-with-csi-deadly-intent/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Ubisoft and Telltale serving up justice with CSI: Deadly Intent</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/19/ubisoft-and-telltale-serving-up-justice-with-csi-deadly-intent/">Ubisoft and Telltale serving up justice with CSI: Deadly Intent</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 19 Jul 2009 14:30:00 EST. We already told you as much as we knew about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/star-trek-dac/"><em>Star Trek DAC</em></a> when we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/24/gdc09-star-trek-dac-details-and-no-we-dont-know-what-it-stan/">grilled the game's senior producer</a> and some folks from the film back at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/GDC-2009/">GDC 2009</a>. Unfortunately, today's "new" information on the game from Paramount Digital Entertainment, Bad Robot Interactive, CBS and Naked Sky Entertainment (that's a mouthful!) did little to bolster our knowledge banks.<br /><br />We do, however, have a batch of new screens from the upcoming game coming to XBLA next month (and PSN/PC "shortly thereafter"), featuring gameplay with some very <em>Star Trekkian</em> vistas. The movie hits theaters on May 8, so expect to see the game appear on XBLA "near" the film's launch.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-trek-d-a-c-1/">Star Trek: D-A-C</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-trek-d-a-c-1/#1514417"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/dac_star_08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-trek-d-a-c-1/#1535776"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/startrekdac05050901_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-trek-d-a-c-1/#1535777"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/startrekdac05050910_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-trek-d-a-c-1/#1535778"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/startrekdac05050914_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-trek-d-a-c-1/#1535779"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/startrekdac05050905_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/23/star-trek-d-a-c-hits-xbla-in-may-new-screens-hit-right-now/">Star Trek D-A-C hits XBLA in May, new screens hit right now</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 Apr 2009 22:15:00 EST. As if winning eighteen thousand gold medals at the Beijing Olympics wasn't enough, swimmer Michael Phelps got a further reward for his awesomeness on <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4391727n">last Thursday's CBS Early Show</a> -- an early copy of <span style="font-style: italic;">Call of Duty: World at War </span>provided by publisher Activision. But all was not as it seemed. As developer <a href="http://www.treyarch.com/news/116">Treyarch revealed on its blog</a>, the box Phelps was handed on live TV actually contained an I.O.U. card for the final version of the game, which is still in production. It's not all smoke and mirrors, though -- Phelps has been promised "the first disc off the production line ... later this year." We suppose that's understandable. Michael Phelps may be amazing, but it seems even he can't change the laws of time and space (<a href="http://www.100thofasecond.com">or can he?</a>) (<a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijing/swimming/news;_ylt=Avs8mZCkO3prd8x_GLNUGsPXn414?slug=ap-swm-phelpsphotofinish&amp;prov=ap&amp;type=lgns">no he can't</a>).<br /><br />Check out a video of the "giveaway" after the break (jump to 3:28 for the moment of falsehood).<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/08/29/michael-phelps-call-of-duty-early/">MTV Multiplayer</a>]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/01/michael-phelps-gets-cod-world-at-war-early-but-not-really/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Michael Phelps gets CoD: World at War early, but not really</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/01/michael-phelps-gets-cod-world-at-war-early-but-not-really/">Michael Phelps gets CoD: World at War early, but not really</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 01 Sep 2008 20:30:00 EST. CBS will pay $1.8 billion in cash to become the proud parent of CNet and its spawn GameSpot in a deal that's expected to close in the third quarter pending shareholder and regulatory approval. The acquisition values the company at $11.50 per share, a 45% premium over CNet's closing stock price on Wednesday, reports the <a href="http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gJhY4Kr55gJTx2vDfDj3WrHahIJwD90M3IHG1">Associated Press</a>. <em>Sheesh!</em> Well, CBS, <strike>you've just been robbed</strike> "welcome to the internets" ... but as <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/05/15/AR2008051501034.html">The Washington Post</a> puts it, you've certainly got your work cut out for you not to become known as "CNet Buy Sunk."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/15/cbs-to-buy-gamespot-rest-of-cnet-for-1-8b-in-cash/">CBS to buy GameSpot, rest of CNet for $1.8b</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 15 May 2008 10:44:00 EST. We're totally enjoying CBS' coverage of <em>Manhunt 2</em>. After Katie Couric's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/30/mainstream-tv-news-covers-manhunt-2/">eye-roll inducing <em>Notebook</em> entry</a> two days ago, the odiously designed CBS.com site bubbles up a clip of Dr. Phil with <em>Early Show</em> host Harry Smith and journalist Scott Steinberg. We're sorry, but just try not to laugh as Smith introduces Dr. Phil to the show and Steinberg starts flailing the Wiimote trying to execute the guy on screen. Of course, you'll have to <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/main500251.shtml?id=3435310n">go to CBS.com to watch it</a>. We're sorry, but the networks haven't discovered the basics of embeddable code.<br /><br />Dr. Phil is far more careful here then the last time he talked about <a href="http://gamepolitics.com/2007/04/17/dr-phil-blames-video-games-for-virginia-tech-massacre/">video game violence's effect on children</a> during the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/VirginiaTech/">Virginia Tech massacre</a> -- probably because his hypothesis was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/19/no-video-games-found-in-vt-shooters-dorm/">dead wrong</a> last time and he <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/30/virginia-finds-no-link-between-violent-games-and-v-tech-mu/">looked like a total (insult of choice goes here)</a>. Dr. Phil says about <em>Manhunt 2</em>, "Now the truth is, if somebody plays this game and then they go and do this in their life, there was something seriously wrong with them before they got the game. But it's modeling." We'd prefer if the mainstream media did a simple PSA and told parents not to let their children play M-rated games instead of all this fear mongering.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gamepolitics.com/2007/11/01/dr-phil-weighs-in-on-manhunt-2/">GamePolitics</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/01/dr-phil-talks-manhunt-but-steinberg-steals-the-show/">Dr. Phil talks Manhunt, but Steinberg steals the show</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 01 Nov 2007 16:20:00 EST. Why? Well, because the vicious acts of murder that are portrayed within aren't carried out in the usual manner, as a player presses buttons on a controller (you do press buttons in <em>Manhunt 2 </em>for the Wii, by the way), but by "wielding a knife, an axe, and a glass shard" to dispatch their opponent. We haven't seen the box for this thing yet, but it would have to be pretty big to include all of these things.<br /><br />But, what really gets us is the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/05/local-news-station-is-late-to-the-manhunt-2-debate/">mainstream media's</a> assumption that kids just walk into stores every day and purchase games that are rated "Mature." Even if this happens, and the kid takes said game home and plays it, what about the parents? Are they so absent-minded and uninterested in their child's life that they won't hear the curse words coming from their TV or hear the sounds of these murders (gurgling and the like, we imagine), let alone spend a few seconds to ask what they're playing or, dare we ask, <em>watch their kid play it</em>? <br /><br />You know, we can understand your stance against violent media in general (well, maybe <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/24/jack-thompson-shows-how-smart-he-is-on-fox-news/">not everyone's</a>), but the detachment is there. You're holding a white Wiimote and nunchuk, it's not like you could honestly think that you're some crazy psycho killer out there performing murder with no repercussions for your actions. If the game came with a life-sized dummy that you had to choke from behind with the cord connecting nunchuk and Wiimote together for points, then we might be willing to entertain the mainstream media's concerns.<br /><br />It all comes down to the parents.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/30/mainstream-tv-news-covers-manhunt-2/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/30/cbs-tosses-their-hat-into-the-manhunt-2-debate/">CBS tosses their hat into the Manhunt 2 debate</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 30 Oct 2007 22:55:00 EST. OK, so it's not a big surprise that <em>Manhunt 2</em> looks to be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/30/metareview-manhunt-2-wii-ps2/">falling pretty flat</a> with the gaming community. But remember, there's still all that expectation of controversy that the mainstream media has been gearing up for! This evening, both ABC and <a href="http://gamepolitics.com/2007/10/30/tivo-alert-cbs-evening-news-with-katie-couric-looks-at-manhunt-2-this-evening/">CBS</a> news had segments on <em>Manhunt 2</em>. We seem to have missed the CBS one, but we did catch the ABC segment. We'd love to share the package with you, but the networks are quite behind the times and we can't seem to find the segments anywhere on their sites yet (and we're even less sure to find embeddable code). If it finds its way to YouTube, we'll be sure to post it. (Update: Still no code, but here's <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/10/30/eveningnews/eyeontech/main3433101.shtml">CBS' segment</a>.)<br /><br />ABC.com's news section actually does have a quick rundown of <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/WN/story?id=3797218&amp;page=1">video game ratings and terminology on their site</a> for the utterly uninitiated. CBS took a different approach, however, as CBS.com features <em>Katie Couric's Notebook</em>. "What sets this video game apart is that the player can become physically involved in the acts of violence," <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/main500251.shtml?id=3432308n">Couric says</a>. "Rather than just pushing buttons, the player actually wields a knife, an ax, a glass shard -- to stab an opponent." <br /><br />Ummm, no. Don't know who writes the copy over there at that <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/05/09/katie-couric-draws-worst-news-ratings-for-cbs-since-1987/">ratings powerhouse</a>, but that's just plain wrong. Although the PS2 version would be about pushing buttons -- unless CBS has discovered some new feature -- we're currently unaware of the Wiimote's ability to shape-shift into any of those items described allowing a player to "stab an opponent." Couric then says that research shows violent games cause children to accept violence as an every day part of life. Ironically, a kid with average intelligence should be able to figure that out by watching the first segment of Katie's news broadcast every weekday evening.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/30/mainstream-tv-news-covers-manhunt-2/">Mainstream TV news covers Manhunt 2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 30 Oct 2007 20:13:00 EST. Because you can't spell "boredom stricken" without CBS. Thanks to that venerable network, you'll be able to watch gamers from across the globe play <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Quake4/">Quake 4</a></em>, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/GuitarHero2/">Guitar Hero 2</a></em>, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Fight%20Night%20Round%203">Fight Night Round 3</a></em> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/WorldofWarcraft/">World of Warcraft</a> </em>from the comfort of your couch in ... Video Game ARMAGEDDON! No, it's <a href="http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/feature/?id=16330">the World Series of Video Games</a>. But we can dream, right? The tournaments start filming soon and will air on four weekend days this year, the first being July 29. The play-by-play will be done by <a href="http://slog.cstv.com/offprompter/">Greg Amsinger</a>, who two of you may know is returning after calling the WSVG Finals on College Sports Television.<br /><br />We jest, but we'll probably end up checking it out. But we make no promises that we won't remember after five minutes that video games are fun to play and be forced to abandon the WSVG for more interactive pursuits. If you'd like to have your five minutes of fame, more information is available on the <a href="http://www.thewsvg.com/">WSVG Web site</a>, though it seems to be having some troubles at the moment.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/01/world-series-of-video-games-to-air-on-cbs/">World Series of Video Games to air on CBS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 01 Jun 2007 08:10:00 EST. For your first birthday, daddy got you something really cool ... downloadable movies and television shows! While the PS3 Blu-ray marketing machine is busy selling folks high-def movies on little discs, Microsoft decided to forgo the discs and just sling the bits straight into your 'box. They already <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/06/hd-movies-tv-shows-coming-to-xbox-live/">spilled the beans</a> on this one a couple weeks ago, and we even <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/07/microsofts-scott-henson-on-tv-and-movies/">picked</a> Microsoft's Scott Henson's brain on it, but there was still one thing they wouldn't dish on: the price. <br /><br />Prices are broken down into six categories: new release movie rentals, classic rentals, and television purchases, with high-def and standard-def offerings in each. <br /><br />New releases<br />

So far they've got 48 movies and 50 TV shows broken down between 2 movie studios and 12 television networks. We're surprised Universal, who're supporting the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/27/360-hd-dvd-add-on-coming-to-us-europe-in-mid-november-for-200/">HD-DVD</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/09/universal-music-get-fee-for-every-zune-sold/">Zune platforms</a> in a big way, didn't climb on board for the initial launch but we're certain there's a warehouse full of lawyers working to get more content partnerships established. The debate as to whether these types of games actually can benefit your health is one that is sure to be without resolution for some time to come, but getting seniors and those who would otherwise be disinterested in games, playing and enjoying themselves, is a huge win for Nintendo. <br /><br />CBS isn't the only news affiliate covering the <em>Brain Age</em> story, however, as a local Arizona news team also covered the game. This local Fox News team actually took the game to the streets and got it into the hands of average citizens, recording their reactions. What's also surprising is that the team even brought up the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/04/19/ds-lite-and-brain-age-not-playing-well-together/">voice recognition problems</a> that so many of us have had, which shows they really put their time in with the game.<br /><br />Embedded video after the link.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/21/brain-age-striking-it-rich-in-the-mainstream-media/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Brain Age striking it rich in the mainstream media</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/21/brain-age-striking-it-rich-in-the-mainstream-media/">Brain Age striking it rich in the mainstream media</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 Jun 2006 12:00:00 EST. For every self-proclaimed psychology expert jumping on Oprah's couch there's a handful of regular Joes out
there that put their $5,000 designer jeans on one leg at a time just like everybody else. Take the cast of
"Lost", for instance. Instead of doing actor-ey type stuff during breaks like relieving world hunger and
working towards presidential impeachment (an act many actors are just so qualified for), Jorge Garcia (who plays
Hurley) and Dominic Monaghan (who plays <strike>Merry the Hobbit</strike> Charlie) spend their down time besting each
other in <em>FIFA Soccer</em>. Maybe they'll tackle a whole new normal activity next week, hopefully something along
the lines of drinking water <em>straight from the tap</em>. Won't that be exciting? Whee!<br /><br /><em>Addendum:</em>
Unless we're being royally fooled, Dominic Monaghan's bio on <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0597480/bio">IMDB</a>
lists him as a "video game fanatic" who "often hosts gaming parties at his house". Color us
curious.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/02/28/psp-the-unofficial-lost-gaming-console-of-choice/">PSP: The unofficial "Lost" gaming console of choice</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 28 Feb 2006 12:00:00 EST. Thanks for the entirely informative and balanced
reporting WVLT! <br /><br />In <span style="font-style: italic;">wholly unrelated</span> news, WVLT is also prominently
reporting in their "News Headlines" box: <br />
<ul>
    <li>Sword-wielding thieves strike clinic,
arrested</li>
    <li>Body, Head mystery remains unsolved</li>
    <li>Kentucky teacher arrested in Mexico; teenage boy
returned</li>
    <li>Missing boy found in Knoxville</li>
</ul>
Of course, the video game industry's previously uheard
of desire to package and promote violence must have been genuinely shocking to the good "folks" at WVLT, so
much so they must have been unable to write more than their summary judgement.<br /><br />This blog post is over twice
as long as their video game story.
