When the game was announced last year, all we knew about it was that it featured co-op action and some groovy graphical flairs, but now we're seeing how <em>Citadel</em> relates to its big role-playing brother.<br /><br />Players will be able to play as three characters at a time, picked from four character classes (including a Khukuri Shaman, an Ancarian Ranger, a Safiri Warrior, or an unrevealed class), and each has their own set of skills to be leveled up and unlocked. Additionally, characters can equip weapons or armor that can be stashed in town, or pop potions to refill either a health or a power meter.<br /><br /><em>Sacred Citadel</em>, says Deep Silver, will serve as a prologue to the upcoming <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sacred-3"><em>Sacred 3</em></a>, and should be out for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and the PC sometime this year.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/28/sacred-citadel-will-feature-four-classes-to-level-up-and-a-gear/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sacred Citadel will feature four classes to level up and a gear stash</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/28/sacred-citadel-will-feature-four-classes-to-level-up-and-a-gear/">Sacred Citadel will feature four classes to level up and a gear stash</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Feb 2013 05:00:00 EST. This look at the game's humans vs. dinosaurs multiplayer combat highlights two of the playable classes that will be available when the game eventually launches: Velociraptors and Trappers.<br /><br />As you might guess, Velociraptor gameplay involves a lot of running, climbing and pouncing on squishy humans and their delicious organs, while Trapper gameplay is focused on disabling dinos with nets and then stabbing them with big ol' knives. The Trapper also has two sizable pistols at his disposal, which may or may not be a match for the adorable "Skreee!" sound the raptors make while pouncing.<br /><br />If your inner child is throwing wild fits, placate them by signing up for <a href="http://www.primalcarnage.com/website/beta">the forthcoming beta</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/25/primal-carnage-shows-off-its-raptors-and-trappers/">Primal Carnage shows off its raptors and trappers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 25 Aug 2012 16:30:00 EST. Imagine <em>Jurassic Park</em> without dinosaurs, or <a href="http://www.qwantz.com/index.php"><em>Dinosaur Comics</em></a>, or your wedding day, for just a few examples. See? Everything is better with dinosaurs.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/orion-dino-beatdown"><em>Orion: Dino Beatdown</em></a> understands this principle perfectly, adding vicious dinosaurs to an otherwise standard class-based shooter. If you don't want to go through PayPal, the museum is accepting donations directly at its Oakland location as well.<br /><br />The museum has been holding <a href="http://www.themade.org/node/88">video game tournaments</a>, programming classes (seen above), and open hours every week, and is now home to <a href="http://www.themade.org/node/78">the GamePro archives</a>. I'm a Lv. 43 Powermime!"), Funcom's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-secret-world"><em>The Secret World</em></a> will ditch that system for a more versatile approach, according to a recent <a href="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/07/agameofthronesgenesis-13.jpg">Rock, Paper, Shotgun</a> preview. Instead of levels and classes, players will be able to pick and choose from 500 skills that they'll be able to swap between at certain points during a mission, making strategy and foresight far more powerful tools than patience and grinding.<br />
<br />
Players will be able to specialize as one of the MMORPG genre's many archetypes, though this broad system won't lock them out of other job types should their interests shift. We appreciate any MMO that allows us to reenact our collegiate career, during which we double-majored in Animal Husbandry and Astronomy with a minor in Healthcare Management and another minor in Racquetball.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/12/the-secret-worlds-progression-system-doesnt-subscribe-to-label/">The Secret World's progression system doesn't subscribe to labels, man</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 12 Jul 2011 12:00:00 EST. According to Famitsu, Capcom has <a href="http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/06/29/ixion_saga/">announced a new title</a> called <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/ixion-saga"><em>Ixion Saga</em></a>, a PC-only multiplayer combat game where three classes (Strikers, Casters and Blasters) will do battle in eight versus eight online matches. There's also a PvE element, so players will be able to form "unions" with other players and take on other creatures.<br />
<br />
There will be a limited alpha on July 28 in Japan, and the game is due for release there sometime next summer. Capcom has had some success with online titles already, releasing <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_Hunter_Frontier">a <em>Monster Hunter</em> MMO</a> in Japan, but this is the first we've heard of an original MMO IP.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/01/capcom-reveals-ixion-saga-plans-limited-alpha-in-japan-next-mon/">Capcom reveals Ixion Saga, plans limited alpha in Japan next month</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 01 Jul 2011 05:00:00 EST. Square Enix has announced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/23/dungeon-siege-3-preview/">the third of four heroes</a> players can choose from in the upcoming <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dungeon-siege-3">Dungeon Siege 3</a> --</em> and it's Katarina, a gun-wielding, half-witch vixen with a black hound companion. The official blog for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a> was recently updated, adding more information about <a href="http://www.swtor.com/info/systems/advanced-classes">the advanced class system</a> which was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/13/the-old-republic-classes-get-branching-specializations/">unveiled late last week</a>. The branching specialization tree won't just allow you to unlock new abilities for your galactic hero -- it will also unlock armor and weapon proficiencies, as well as other "role-defining Abilities." We're guessing "Relentlessly Choking Out Unsuccessful Subordinates" shows up somewhere on one of the Sith Warrior's sets.<br />
<br />
Each specialty is broken down into two smaller skill trees, apparently leaving room for specialization <em>inside</em> each specialization. In addition, players will have access to a shared basic skill set, which they'll always have access to, regardless of which advanced path they traverse. Check out <a href="http://www.swtor.com/info/systems/advanced-classes">the game's blog</a> for more info on how to personalize your spacefarer.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/17/star-wars-the-old-republic-advanced-classes-detailed/">Star Wars: The Old Republic advanced classes detailed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 17 May 2010 09:08:00 EST. <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/star-wars-the-old-republic-pre-e3-hands-on">Eurogamer</a> recently got an extensive look at BioWare's upcoming MMO <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a>, during which time it learned the game's seemingly narrow list of eight classes <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/swtors-advanced-classes-revealed">will be expanded upon</a> by offering the player specialization options. Each class will have the option of two distinct "Advanced Classes," increasing the total number of archetypes available in the game by, like ... 300 percent? <em>Maybe</em>?<br />
<br />
The first two Advanced Classes revealed can be chosen by a high-level Sith Warrior, who can follow the path of the Marauder (a damage-dealing, Darth Maul-esque class) or the Juggernaut (a heavily armored, Darth Vader-esque class). Considering the former got totally cut in half by Ewan McGregor, we might appreciate the safety and security offered by the latter.<br />

With all of the furor around the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/starcraft-2"><em>StarCraft 2</em></a> beta going on this week, you might actually have forgotten that there are actually two major, big-budget RTS sequels due out in 2010. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/command-and-conquer-4"><em>Command &amp; Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight</em></a> is arriving in just a few weeks on March 16, and, to remind you of that fact, here are a few of the game's developers telling you about how they balanced the multiplayer component. The main feature is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/28/command-and-conquer-4-multiplayer-beta-rolled-out-today/">the new class choices</a> -- whenever you start up a map, you choose whether you want to play as offense, defense or support, and your teammates can make the same choice, allowing each of you to choose to run your own units entirely, with their own strengths and weaknesses.<br />
<br />
There's also some information at the end about the co-op campaign, which will also let you use the complimentary classes to split up the fight against enemies and follow objectives that much more quickly with a friend. Sure, your Marines and your Zerglings and your Zealots are fun to play with, but it looks like <em>C&amp;C4</em> is ordering up some new ways to play one of the older genres in PC gaming.<br />

Because <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/diablo-3"><em>Diablo III</em></a> won't be released until 2014, we've got plenty of time to check out the game's various classes. The latest to get the spotlight treatment is the female Barbarian. It's kind of funny because she looks like one of the most notable <em>male</em> barbarians ever: <a href="http://www.natsnq.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/conan.jpg">Conan</a>. Just, uh, don't tell her we said that she looks like a dude!<br />
<br />
If you're playing catch-up, the official character page on <a href="http://us.blizzard.com/diablo3/characters/barbarian.xml">Blizzard's site</a> has a brief bio on the class and a look at some of its special moves. <br />

<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/crate-entertainment">Crate Entertainment</a> is a company <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/09/defunct-titan-quest-dev-lives-on-as-crate-entertainment/">made up of the old Iron Lore team</a> that worked on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/titan-quest"><em>Titan Quest</em></a>, arguably the most popular of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/diablo"><em>Diablo</em></a> clones to come out in the past few years. Crate has finally <a href="http://news.bigdownload.com/2010/01/20/grim-dawn-announced/">announced its latest project</a>, and it's <em>Grim Dawn</em>, another action RPG (it <a href="http://www.grimdawn.com/about.php">even namedrops <em>Diablo</em> </a>in the description) set in the world of Cairn, where two forces have "decimated human civiliation" and are "warping the very fabric of reality." Sounds appropriately epic, though as long as there's plenty of loot, we're not too bothered.<br />
<br />
Five classes? Check. Skill trees? Check. A crafting system and co-op multiplayer? Check and check. Considering that even the <a href="http://www.crateentertainment.com/news.html">same <em>Titan Quest</em> engine</a> and toolset are being used, <em>Grim Dawn</em> doesn't sound too far off the hack-and-slash loot-hunting reservation. But that's not a bad thing -- we'll have to see if it plans to mix up the tried-and-true formula as it moves toward a planned digital release in 2011.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/21/former-titan-quest-devs-announce-grim-dawn/">Former Titan Quest devs announce Grim Dawn</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Jan 2010 05:00:00 EST. Lots of guns? Good! The newest <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mass-effect-2">Mass Effect 2</a></em> trailer is meant just for you, then -- packed from top to bottom with bullets and explosives, lead gameplay designer Christina Norman discusses the gun-centric proclivities of the Soldier class. Did you know, for instance, that the Soldier is the only class that can use the assault rifle? We sure didn't! <br />
<br />
But look, to be totally honest, we're still a bit smitten with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/07/new-mass-effect-2-trailer-showcases-the-engineer-class-and-its-k/">the Engineer class</a> from a few weeks back. It's kind of hard to think about using <em>another</em> shotgun (yes, even a space shotgun) knowing there's a class with its own killer robot. That being said, if you're into that whole gun "thing," <em>Mass Effect 2</em>'s Soldier is right up your alley.<br />

Maybe, "if you love intense close-range combat," you should be looking <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bayonetta/">elsewhere</a> to release your pent-up rage. However, if you love intense close-range combat using <em>an extremely tactical power</em> -- and don't mind taking breaks for drawn-out conversation -- then perhaps <em>Mass Effect 2's</em> Vanguard combat class fits well with your particular proclivities.<br />
<br />

It appears that the developer sought to do just that with this week's introduction to the Sentinel. <br />
<br />
Skilled in both biotic skills (thats <em>space magic</em>, folks) and tech abilities, Norman says the Sentinel is "the only class that can blast through any enemy's defenses ... with or without your squad backing you up." With only a handful of weeks left before the game's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/16/mass-effect-2-stardated-january-26-2010/">January 26 release date</a>, it won't be long before we get to find out exactly how adept the Sentinel is for ourselves.<br />

Though BioWare has tried to keep the flow information relating to its upcoming MMO, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a> to a slow trickle, the latest issue of PC Games Germany recently beat the studio to a pretty big punch, revealing the game's <a href="http://www.starwarsmmo.net/news/pc-games-magazine-reveals-jedi-consular-and-sith-inquisitor/">final two character classes</a>. The classes are the Jedi Consular and the Sith Inquisitor -- two more Force-wielding classes which focus less on lightsaber combat and more on long-range attacks and support abilities.<br /> <br /> These two join the six other <a href="http://www.swtor.com/info/holonet/classes">previously announced classes</a> for the game: Trooper, Imperial Agent, Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior. Tragically, it seems the Fashion Designer class from <em>Star Wars Galaxies</em> won't make a reappearance in <em>Old Republic</em>. As a result, we expect everyone's characters to be dressed in the <em>drabbest</em> of duds.<br /> <br /> [Via <a href="http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/61357">Shacknews</a>]<br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-wars-the-old-republic-2/">Star Wars: The Old Republic</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-wars-the-old-republic-2/#1113633"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/korriban_landing_platform_lightsaber_fight_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-wars-the-old-republic-2/#1113634"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/tython_building_exterior_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-wars-the-old-republic-2/#1113629"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/korriban_interior_force_choke_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-wars-the-old-republic-2/#1113630"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/tython_trooper_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/star-wars-the-old-republic-2/#1113631"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/korriban_interior_lightsaber_clash_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/24/final-two-star-wars-the-old-republic-classes-revealed/">Final two Star Wars: The Old Republic classes revealed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 24 Nov 2009 09:45:00 EST. There's finally a reason to visit the "professional classifications" section of <a href="http://www.swtor.com/info/holonet/classes/">the official website</a> for the upcoming BioWare MMO, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a>. The page for the only class worth playing, the Jedi, has finally been added! The site's got images of Jedi garb and weaponry up, and even a few videos of lightsaber murder.<br /> <br /> "But Joystiq, the Jedi isn't the only class worth playing! I want to be a smuggler!" What's that? Sorry, we had a little trouble hearing you while we <em>crushed your windpipe with our minds</em>. Speaking of which, we guess the Sith Warrior is okay, too -- but just barely.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/02/star-wars-the-old-republic-site-launches-jedi-class-page/">Star Wars: The Old Republic site launches Jedi class page</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 02 Nov 2009 11:29:00 EST. <em>Final Fantasy XIV</em> has gotten a steady stream of information since its announcement at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/02/joystiq-live-from-sonys-e3-2009-keynote/">Sony's E3 press conference</a> earlier this year. And now, the game's official website has loosed a <a href="http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/">flood of information</a> on its classes, enemies, how the classes break down into "disciplines," and much more. Aside from all the new text, the site also got a handful of new screens (including the fancifully bearded, screaming face you see above).<br /><br />Rather than waiting for us to poorly contextualize the nitty gritty details on a genre we don't always focus on, head over to our MMO-centric sister site <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/10/08/major-content-update-on-final-fantasy-xiv-site/">Massively</a> for more.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-xiv/">Final Fantasy XIV</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-xiv/#2192715"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/[stand8]miqote_final_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-xiv/#2053059"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/ffxiv07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-xiv/#2192716"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/[close4]lalafellm_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-xiv/#2053060"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/ffxiv08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-xiv/#2192717"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/bg001_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Via <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/10/08/major-content-update-on-final-fantasy-xiv-site/">Massively</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/08/final-fantasy-xivs-north-american-website-gets-massive-update/">Final Fantasy XIV's North American website gets massive update</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 08 Oct 2009 20:40:00 EST. As one can tell by frequenting <a href="http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/#classes">the <em>World of Warcraft</em> class forums</a>, one of the trickiest parts of MMO development is making sure that your game's classes are perfectly balanced. If <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNXAG2sHxpY">your paladins can walk all over your warriors</a>, or your druids can outheal your priests, you're going to hear about it. For this very reason, many MMO developers choose to keep their catalog of classes fairly limited -- however, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=mythic+entertainment&amp;x=0&amp;y=0">Mythic Entertainment's</a> design team reportedly decided upon the classes in their upcoming MMO <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Warhammer%20Online">Warhammer Online</a></em> after <a href="http://www.massively.com/2008/08/07/warhammer-team-culled-some-230-classes-to-reach-their-core-set/">plotting out nearly 250 careers for the title</a>.<br /><br />This report comes from an interview with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Barnett_(video_game_designer)">Mythic's Creative Director, Paul Barnett</a>, on Videogaming247. Barnett explains that the <em>Warhammer </em>team got a little out of hand when developing certain aspects of the title, and that the team decided to cull their expansive career roster to <a href="http://warhammer.gameamp.com/info/showClasses">the 20 classes available at launch</a>. A wise choice, considering the countless months it would have taken to make sure that the Treasure Hunter, Gymnast, Dermatologist, Pastry Chef, Assistant Dermatologist, Chimney Sweep, and Librarian classes were all evenly matched.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/10/warhammer-online-team-developed-250-classes-kept-20/">Warhammer Online team developed 250 classes, kept 20</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 10 Aug 2008 17:00:00 EST. We were disappointed, however, when we discovered <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/too-human-demo-now-available/">the game's demo, released during E3</a>, only contained one out of five of the game's playable classes -- the Champion. Fortunately, Silicon Knights included a clever time release system with the demo, which will unlock other classes as we approach <em>Too Human</em>'s August 19 release date.<br /><br />The Berserker class actually appeared on Friday, and according to mysteriously informed GameFAQs commenter Dimascus, <a href="http://xboxoz360.wordpress.com/2008/07/24/too-human-demo-all-classes-unlocked/">the Commando will report for duty on August 12</a>. However, patience isn't really a virtue possessed by most gamers, so it's no surprise that many <em>Too Human</em> players discovered that with by tinkering with the 360's internal clock and doing a bit of tricky menu navigation, <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=200697">it's possible to play as all five of the classes before their initial dates of arrival</a>. We've got Dimascus' method after the jump -- are you brave enough to propel your 360 <em>into the future</em>?<br /><br />[Thanks, Boff.]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/27/too-human-demo-classes-unlock-over-time-internal-clock-shift-ma/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Too Human demo classes unlock over time, internal clock shift makes them all available</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/27/too-human-demo-classes-unlock-over-time-internal-clock-shift-ma/">Too Human demo classes unlock over time, internal clock shift makes them all available</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 27 Jul 2008 15:00:00 EST. Sony is looking to change that with it's new <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/06/06/playstation-edu/">PlayStation-edu program</a>, which provides PS2 and PSP development kits for<br />"computer science and engineering students who want to understand how the hardware works in the PlayStation consoles."<br /><br />The program isn't a charity -- schools will have to purchase the dev kits from Sony -- but the package comes with demo code, samples, documentation, and access to a support web site and forums. Seems like a good way for Sony to divert student developers' attentions towards their products and away from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/digipen/">Nintendo-affiliated Digipen</a> or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/14/microsoft-plans-community-powered-arcade-with-new-xna-tools/">Microsoft's XNA development tools</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/06/sony-offers-ps2-psp-dev-kits-for-education/">Sony offers PS2/PSP dev kits for education</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Jun 2008 20:15:00 EST. Nintendo is an odd company. While we won't argue the merits of doing something like this, we will argue that Nintendo could've used some new games. Confused? So are we, so let's break it down.<br /><br />Basically, Nintendo is conducting an hour-long "beginner's class" with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=animal+crossing"><em>Animal Crossing: Wild World</em></a> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nintendogs">Nintendogs</a>,</em> in the hopes that they can show people how great their really old games are. In all seriousness, we imagine the classes will mostly revolve around introducing the device to skeptical folks, as well as the ease of using the stylus on the touch-screen. It all takes place at ACMI, Screen Pit Room, Federation Square, Flinders Street Melbourne, so if you're anywhere near there this Thursday between 6:00pm - 7:00pm, show up and take some pictures. <br /><br />Then send those pictures <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tips">to us</a>!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/12/nintendo-provides-game-playing-training-down-under/">Nintendo provides game-playing training down under</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 12 May 2008 16:00:00 EST. Prepare for a megaton: in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/13/archaic-rounded-up-heat/"><em>Archaic Sealed Heat</em></a>, black mages cast <em>elemental spells and have low defense</em>. Also, they wear hats. We hear white mages hang around <em>healing people</em> as well. Clearly, RPGs will never be the same.<br /><br />Siliconera has the full goods on the character classes in the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/02/japan-hit-by-ash-in-october/">upcoming</a> Mistwalker title, and if you've ever slipped a roleplaying game into your system of choice, it looks like you will find familiar territory here. There are some slight changes; for instance, thieves here are "stealers" (brilliant), and itemers rely on -- can you guess? -- <em>items</em>. When this one gets localized, we may skip the instruction manual. We must say, if the jobs are so aptly (and obviously) titled, we can't wait to see the game's dialogue. "What is this thing what has scales and breathes fire? I shall call it 'Scaly Firebreathing Thing.'"<br /><br />We'll be here all week.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/31/ash-class-breakdown/">ASH: Class breakdown</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 31 Aug 2007 14:00:00 EST. She lists the reasons, with multiple hyperlinks. Anyone who's ever read or listened to complaints about classes in <em>WoW</em> will get a good giggle, or fume with rage; adding more reasons to why Warlocks are overpowered and why Mages are worthless because they're being out-DPSed by shadow priests.<br /><br />Whatever Blizzard is doing with <em>World of Warcraft,</em> they're obviously on the right path. With seven million players currently paying $15 a month, that's a cool $1.26 billion going in the Ironforge vault every year. <em>Burning Crusade</em> launches on Jan 16 and we can't wait to see how Blizzard distributes the millions of copies necessary to satiate even 50 percent of players. Complaining about classes will be the last thing on <em>WoW</em> addict minds when they can't get their <em>Burning Crusade</em> fix at launch.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/07/world-of-warcrafts-list-of-useless-classes/">World of Warcraft's list of useless classes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 07 Jan 2007 15:41:00 EST.
