This week, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nintendoware-weekly">NintendoWare Weekly</a> brings us the second-most requested title for the Virtual Console: <em>Majora's Mask</em>. With its arrival today, that can only mean one thing: <span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://nintendo.joystiq.com/tag/earthbound">Earthbound</a> </span>is next! When is "next?" Well, yeah, that might be a problem ...<br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/18/nintendoware-weekly-majoras-mask-and-stuff-that-isnt-majora/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Majora's Mask (and stuff that isn't Majora's Mask)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/18/nintendoware-weekly-majoras-mask-and-stuff-that-isnt-majora/">NintendoWare Weekly: Majora's Mask (and stuff that isn't Majora's Mask)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 18 May 2009 12:01:00 EST. The ESRB has left the vault door wide open, <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2009/02/27/crystal-defenders-r1-and-r2-spawning-overseas/">revealing a rating</a> for the long rumored <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/21/crystal-defenders-prepare-to-protect-xbla-psn-wiiware/">North American</a> WiiWare release of <em><a href="http://www.esrb.org/ratings/search.jsp?titleOrPublisher=crystal-defenders-r1&amp;searchType=title&amp;rating=&amp;ratingsCriteria=&amp;platforms=&amp;platformsCriteria=&amp;javaScript=0&amp;searchVersion=compact&amp;content=&amp;searchType=title&amp;contentCriteria=&amp;newSearch.x=31&amp;newSearch">Crystal Defenders R1</a></em> and <em><a href="http://www.esrb.org/ratings/search.jsp?titleOrPublisher=crystal-defenders-r2&amp;searchType=title&amp;rating=&amp;ratingsCriteria=&amp;platforms=&amp;platformsCriteria=&amp;javaScript=0&amp;searchVersion=compact&amp;content=&amp;searchType=title&amp;contentCriteria=&amp;newSearch.x=31&amp;newSearch">Crystal Defenders R2</a></em>. Taking place within the <em>Final Fantasy Tactics</em> universe, <em>Crystal Defenders</em> is a Tower Defense style game from publisher Square Enix that takes place after the events in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Final-Fantasy-tactics-A2">Final Fantasy Tactics A2</a></em>.<br /><br />Originally a mobile phone title -- and soon to be released on the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Store -- <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Crystal-Defenders/">Crystal Defenders</a></em> will see an episodic release for the Nintendo Wii. Being history buffs we can see that the Japanese release of each episode clocked in at 1000 Wii Points ($10 USD) apiece, and since history often repeats itself, it's a good chance those prices will remain the same in North America. Let's hope history is ignored this time.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/27/esrb-rates-crystal-defenders-r1-and-r2-for-wii/">ESRB rates Crystal Defenders R1 &amp; R2 for Wii</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 27 Feb 2009 20:28:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/WiiWare/">WiiWare</a> release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Square-Enix/">Square Enix</a>'s <em>Crystal Defenders</em> tower defense game is episodic, based (loosely) on the three releases of <em>Crystal Guardians</em> for cell phones. Square Enix released <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/22/crystal-defenders-r1-site-opens-with-screens-and-trailer/"><em>Crystal Defenders R1</em></a> in Japan last month, and it is following up with <em>R2</em> next Tuesday.<br /><br />The new episode swaps out some character classes, adding new classes like the Hunter, Flintlock, and Berserker, while leaving others like the White Monk out. <em>R2</em> adds a "Power Crystal" system that uses crystals of different colors to boost character stats. The new game comes with more difficult maps, as well.<br /><br />Square Enix has yet to announce a release for the WiiWare <em>Crystal Defenders</em> games outside of Japan. But since it released the iPhone version here, we doubt it will pass up the opportunity to earn our Wii Points.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2009/02/17/wiiware-crystal-defenders-sold-in-shards/">Siliconera</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/17/more-wiiware-crystal-defenders-in-japan-next-week/">More WiiWare Crystal Defenders in Japan next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 17 Feb 2009 14:00:00 EST.
