What will you be using to take advantage of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/16/pokephone-diamond-and-pearl/">online voice chat feature</a>? Nintendo's official headset, Turtle Beach's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/22/a-different-headset-solution-for-your-ds/"><em>Earforce D2</em></a>, or Datel's <em>Communicator</em>? Or will you be slumming it with the handheld's built-in microphone?<br /><br />If you're still in the market for a headset solution, Nintendo Gal has posted a comparison chart and her analysis on the three products. Testing their comfort, durability, sound output, and recording quality, she was able to determine which one deserves our hard-earned allowance money. There are even recording samples available that you can listen to and weigh in on yourself.<br /><br />We're surprised that the <em>Earforce D2</em> was judged as the best of the lot, but seeing that it's also the most expensive at $19.99 (Nintendo's headset is on sale for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/28/nintendo-ds-headset-pre-order-sale-at-amazon/">$9.99 at Amazon</a>), it's good to know that you're not paying that premium for nothing. Turtle Beach's headset outclassed the official one in every category except recording quality, while Datel's <em>Communicator</em> was laughed out of the competition.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/22/ds-headsets-thrown-into-ring-forced-to-fight-to-the-death/">DS headsets thrown into ring, forced to fight to the death</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 22 Apr 2007 15:30:00 EST. Retailing for $19.95 US, the headset is a little chunkier than it's official Nintendo cousin, however it looks as if in the long run the D2 could be a bit more comfortable. Not only that, but it comes in a few different colors (black, white and pink), allowing those of you with a need for matching colors to have the headset that goes with your DS Lite.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gadgetell.com/2007/03/ear-force-d2-stereo-headphones-for-the-nintendo-ds/">Gadgetell</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/22/a-different-headset-solution-for-your-ds/">A different headset solution for your DS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 22 Mar 2007 11:00:00 EST. The company's president and CEO, Kenji Eno, worked on the Dreamcast launch title <em>D2</em>. While there is no official word on whether he is actually working on a game for the Wii, he was at E3 and upon being approached by Gamasutra, made some vague comments committing to the system.<br /><br />"<em>[...] making a brand new game. It will be for a console with a new control device.</em>" After citing that to the site, he apparently then began to wave his arms about as if using the Wiimote.<br /></span><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/24/kenji-eno-working-on-a-wii-title/">Kenji Eno working on a Wii title?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 24 May 2006 15:30:00 EST.
