"We've already submitted an update to Microsoft to fix the problem, and as soon as we know that the issue is fixed we'll have a new release date. I know our fans have been waiting a long time for the game, and hopefully they'll have the patience to wait just a little while longer. What's mine will be yours very, very soon!"

Monaco will still launch on PC via Steam tomorrow, April 24, as scheduled. Monaco won the IGF Seumas McNally Grand Prize in 2010, and we've been playing it in various stages of development in the years since.

Majesco is in charge of publishing the XBLA version, while Schatz and Pocketwatch Games are self-publishing the PC version (eventually to be joined by Mac). This is the final day to pre-order Monaco on Steam and grab that 10 percent-off price.
Monaco delayed on XBLA originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 23 Apr 2013 18:45:00 EST. According to the statement, the device's release was moved in order to take advantage of a "last minute opportunity" to "ensure our first customers are completely satisfied with the Wikipad." Unfortunately, no new launch date has been set yet.

The team says that it's working with GameStop on dealing with current pre-orders, and that anyone who's already pre-ordered the product will not only get the "refined and upgraded" bundle when it's eventually released, but "a special bonus gift" as well. Again, there's no indication when that might happen, so we'll just have to wait and see what Wikipad's plans are going forward.
Continue reading Wikipad delayed on launch day, 'refined and upgraded bundles' to be announced soon

Wikipad delayed on launch day, 'refined and upgraded bundles' to be announced soon originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 31 Oct 2012 19:30:00 EST.

Look honey, we know you're anxious to start waving your arms around, but your Kinect might need a little more time to get over its fear of intimacy. We know you were hoping the Nyko Zoom, the close-encounters enabling Kinect lens cover, would bridge the gap between you two. We know you've been looking forward to that August 13 release date with bated breath, but it looks like you're going to have to wait a little longer.

According to Amazon and Gamestop listings for the product, the peripheral-peripheral's launch has been pushed back until September 13. We've reached out to Nyko for confirmation, but at the moment it looks like your tiny dormroom will remain Kinectimals-free for another month. Your Kinect loves you, it really does, it just needs its space right now, you know?

Update: We've heard back from Nyko, and things are exactly as they seem: "Due to overwhelming demand from consumers and retailers we're increasing our initial production run and pushing the launch date back accordingly to ensure that all our partners are adequately supplied on launch day."

That's right. Ryan Hamlyn, Associate Producer for SCEA, has confirmed on the PlayStation.Blog that Lair has been delayed until September 4th ... 2008. Not really, but it may as well have been. Pushing back a game that we at PS3 Fanboy likes to refer to as a "thirst quencher", during these months of drought, is a real disappointment.

It seems QA has had to be extended by "an extra step", which means an extra three weeks of development time. For those of you keeping score at home, that brings the total number of AAA titles being released this month to ... well, one actually. Warhawk will be out on the 28th, but that's barely August really, is it? The thing we're most worried about now is that Lair won't get as much attention as perhaps it should, with Heavenly Sword being released on the same day.

So get yourself stocked up on crisps and beer and prepare to wait out the oncoming month in some sort of drunken, greasy stupor. August never seemed so uninviting.
Lair delayed until September 4th originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 01 Aug 2007 20:30:00 EST. In the press release, Sega said the PSP version will ship later this month.

This really surprises me, because I've been expecting the two versions to ship simultaneously, and even IGN still has the PSP version with a Nov. 7 ship date. However, if we can believe Gamestop, they have the game set at a pre-release date of Nov. 16.

Sega gave no reason for the delay, but did mention the game will be rated "T" for Teen. I guess 15-year-old Genesis games can be too much for those 12-year-old kids out there.
PSP Sega Genesis Collection doesn't ship alongside PS2 version originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 08 Nov 2006 13:00:00 EST. While sharing how The Da Vinci Code from Sony beat up on "X-Men 3" (aka The Last Stand) over in Europe, he seemed to mistakenly throw in "Xbox 3" in the stead of Fox's great summer blockbuster hope. Following Mossberg's correction, Stringer is reported to have retorted, laughing, "There's an obsession!"

We don't know if he's referring to the media's obsession with the corporate gaming rivalry, his own obsession with the console that would dethrone the PlayStation, or some combination of the two (irony really doesn't help here), but he does seem to at least outwardly admire Bill Gates' salesmanship (as well as his hypocrisy in delaying Windows Vista while lambasting the PS3 delay). Of course, a lot of supposed compliments could go both ways, so we've provided a few handy links below to check out what other "nice" things hardware execs have had to say about their competitors lately. We're sure it's all in good fun.

[Thanks, JC & SickNic; also via GameDaily BIZ]

See also:
