The Ninja Theory reboot of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry"><em>Devil May Cry</em></a> is expected to sell two million, and this month's launch of <em>Dragon's Dogma</em> is expected to yield a total of 1.5 million units sold. Finally, the recently announced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/lost-planet-3"><em>Lost Planet 3</em></a> - which is in development at Spark Unlimited - is expected to sell the least of the bunch, with 1.4 million copies.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/11/capcom-projections-resident-evil-6-sells-7-million-dmc-does-2/">Capcom projections: Resident Evil 6 sells 7 million, DmC does 2 million</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 11 May 2012 22:00:00 EST. For its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dmc-devil-may-cry/"><em>Devil May Cry</em> game</a>, Ninja Theory somewhat boldly reimagined the revered protagonist, Dante, changing his appearance and his backstory. And now, to assuage the surprisingly irritated <em>Devil May Cry</em> fanbase, Ninja Theory assured Dengeki PlayStation that this version of Dante is from a parallel continuity separate from that of the white-haired Dante-Prime.<br />
<br />
That means that the Dante you know and love can continue in his own universe, and potentially in future <em>Devil May Cry</em> games, while Dante of Earth 2 splits off in a different direction. It also means that there's an official <em>Devil May Cry</em> "canon," which somebody has actually put thought into. In fact, there are two now.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/02/dmcs-dante-sequestered-in-a-separate-universe/">DMC's Dante sequestered in a separate universe</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Nov 2011 12:38:00 EST. <em>Devil May Cry</em> will definitely be re-released next year, as part of a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/06/esrb-rates-devil-may-cry-1-2-and-3-for-xbox-ps3/">long-rumored </a>HD collection. Capcom has officially unveiled the <em>Devil May Cry HD Collection</em> for Xbox 360 and PS3, consisting of upgraded versions of <em>DMC 1, 2,</em> and <i>Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition</i>. Capcom even went so far as to specify a $39.99 price for the set.<br />
<br />
Check out the first screens of the collection below, featuring SD and HD comparison shots, to see how Capcom went in and swapped out the old Dante for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry">new black-haired version</a>. No, we're totally kidding. We promise. Look at the screens for yourself, and take a breath.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-may-cry-hd-collection-comparison/">Devil May Cry HD Collection (Comparison)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-may-cry-hd-collection-comparison/#4532420"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/1-dmchdcdmc1comparisonscreen1hdbmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-may-cry-hd-collection-comparison/#4532421"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/1-dmchdcdmc1comparisonscreen1sdbmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-may-cry-hd-collection-comparison/#4532422"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/dmchdcdmc1comparisonscreen2hdbmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-may-cry-hd-collection-comparison/#4532423"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/dmchdcdmc1comparisonscreen2sdbmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-may-cry-hd-collection-comparison/#4532424"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/dmchdcdmc2comparisonscreen2hdbmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-may-cry-hd-collection-360-ps3/">Devil May Cry HD Collection (360/PS3)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-may-cry-hd-collection-360-ps3/#4532464"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/dmccdmc3m12geryon09281101bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-may-cry-hd-collection-360-ps3/#4532465"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/dmchdcdmc1hd09281103bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/devil-may-cry-hd-collection-360-ps3/#4532466"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/dmchdcdmc2hddtdantebmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/17/devil-may-cry-hd-collection/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dante reawakens next year in Devil May Cry HD Collection</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/17/devil-may-cry-hd-collection/">Dante reawakens next year in Devil May Cry HD Collection</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 17 Oct 2011 11:33:00 EST. Every year, critics and fans provide the word-of-mouth support to several games that barely subsist on a whisper of marketing. "Enslaved should have done better," says Tameem Antoniades, head of the game's developer, Ninja Theory. "Right now we should have been doing a sequel and perfecting that sequel and doing what franchises do, which is get better over time."<br />
<br />
The comments come from a new issue of Edge (via <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/319916/ninja-theory-confirms-no-work-on-enslaved-2/">CVG</a>), and go on to show that the studio's longterm plans were altered by <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/enslaved-odyssey-to-the-west"><em>Enslaved</em></a>'s so-so sales. Antoniades reveals that Ninja Theory meant to expand to two teams, but have now remained a "smaller shop" to focus entirely on the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry">Devil May Cry</a> </em>reboot for Capcom.<br />
<br />
Though team members had "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/04/ninja-theory-hasnt-planned-enslaved-sequel/">mentally prepared</a>" themselves for this outcome, Antoniades said in October of last year, it's clear that the game's success had been embedded in the studio's plans for growth. (At least <em>Enslaved</em> wasn't <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bizarre">a racing game</a>.)<br />
<br />
Since <em>Devil May Cry</em> is a firmly established brand, Ninja Theory's expressive characters may yet find themselves in a hit -- and perhaps even a finely tuned action game.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/23/ninja-theory-enslaved-performance-prevented-team-expansion/">Ninja Theory: Enslaved performance prevented team expansion</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 23 Sep 2011 13:50:00 EST. We <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/14/capcom-devil-may-cry-art-contest-hints-at-unannounced-dmc-game/">suspected as much earlier this year</a>, and now the ESRB seems to think the first three <em>Devil May Cry</em> games are headed to Xbox and PS3. All three have been rated by the organization and, incidentally, have received an "M for Mature."<br />
<br />
HD collections are all the rage these days, and Capcom is certainly no stranger to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/22/street-fighter-iii-third-strike-online-edition-review-aged-to/">rereleasing its older products</a>. And, with the impending <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry"><em>Devil May Cry</em> reboot</a>, it only makes sense that the publisher would want to cash in on both series veterans and newcomers alike. We contacted Capcom and were told that the company hasn't "made any announcements." Well <em>we knew that</em>. Sheesh.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/06/esrb-rates-devil-may-cry-1-2-and-3-for-xbox-ps3/">ESRB rates Devil May Cry 1, 2 and 3 for Xbox, PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 06 Sep 2011 20:40:00 EST. Ninja Theory's take on <em>Devil May Cry</em> really gets off the ground in the Gamescom 2011 trailer. Dante might look like an emaciated Brian Molko in this one, but at least he's still got a knack for juggling.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/16/devil-may-cry-trailer-and-screens-show-off-ninja-theorys-spin/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Devil May Cry trailer and screens show off Ninja Theory's spin</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/16/devil-may-cry-trailer-and-screens-show-off-ninja-theorys-spin/">Devil May Cry trailer and screens show off Ninja Theory's spin</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 Aug 2011 15:20:00 EST. If you possess fond memories of the original, snowy-haired version of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/devil-may-cry"><em>Devil May Cry</em></a> protagonist Dante, you should bust out your watercolors and really explore those feelings. <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2011/07/13/devil_may_cry_10th_anniversary_art_contest">Capcom's compiling</a> fan-drawn art for the demon-destroying franchise's upcoming 10th anniversary, which the company will then place in "a new, to be announced Capcom game."<br />

If we were betting folks, we'd wager this title would be an HD collection of the first three installments in the <em>Devil May Cry</em> series. If we were really bad at betting, we'd also say those illustrations will be implemented in an all new "Dante's First Coloring Book" mode. Fortunately, we're <em>very good</em> at betting. We have a system, Debbie. <em>A system</em>!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/14/capcom-devil-may-cry-art-contest-hints-at-unannounced-dmc-game/">Capcom Devil May Cry art contest hints at unannounced DMC game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 14 Jul 2011 11:30:00 EST. Screen Gems' last partnership with Capcom was a resounding success: the <em>Resident Evil</em> films have grossed over $580 million worldwide. It is undoubtedly looking to replicate that success with its latest acquisition, <em>Devil May Cry</em>.<br />
<br />
Kyle Ward has been hired to write the script. Ward is currently <a href="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118033032?refCatId=13">unproven</a>; his first feature-length script, <em>Fiasco Heights</em>, will debut later this year. In addition to <em>Devil May Cry</em>, Ward is also signed for another video game adaptation: <em>Kane &amp; Lynch</em>. According to <a href="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118033032?refCatId=13">Variety</a>, the film will feature Dante on a quest to "avenge his mother's murder by killing off demons."<br />
<br />
Given the early status of the project, it's unclear if the film will be based on the classic games, or on Ninja Theory's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry">upcoming reboot</a>. Given Paul Anderson's creative freedom on the <em>Resident Evil</em> franchise, it's entirely possible that the Hollywood Dante will be an entirely original one, as well.<br />

If <em>Street Fighter IV</em>'s <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/15/street-fighter-iv-coming-to-iphone-why-are-you-laughing/">misguided iOS port</a> hasn't frustrated you enough, Capcom has revealed an even more quizzical addition to its touch screen library. <em>Devil May Cry 4 Refrain</em> is a bite-sized version of the console game, featuring the same story as the original. You'll assume control of Nero across ten maze-like levels. (Well, if the on-screen HUD is any indication, "control" might be an overly-generous term.)<br />
<br />
<em>Refrain</em> is scheduled for release later this month, with a sticker price of $6.99. Although the initial release will only offer Nero as a playable character, future updates will add Dante and extra challenge modes. Specifically, the Daniel Craig version of James Bond.<br />
<br />
"When you see the <em>Casino Royale</em> remake," Capcom's Alex Jones explained to <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-09-22-new-dante-inspired-by-james-bond-reboot">Eurogamer</a>, "you see Bond before he's actually killed anyone, and it's a really traumatic event. He's rough-hewn, he's not polished or debonair, but you can see the essence of what that character will become. That's what we want to do with Dante. The core of him is there, it's just a rougher version. It's a becoming. He's not fully actualised." So this Dante might be <em>surprised</em> the first time a sword flies directly into his torso of his own accord.<br />
<br />
"Of course long-time fans are worried about us handing over such a big title to another company, another development team," Capcom's Hideaki Itsuna said. He expressed his confidence in Ninja Theory and his belief that "they're very serious about making this game good." Itsuna explained that the reboot is intended to increase the fanbase by bringing in new buyers as well as <em>Devil May Cry</em> series fans. Well, at least those who aren't hung up on the hair color thing.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/22/devil-may-cry-reboot-inspired-by-james-bond-series/">Devil May Cry reboot likened to James Bond's Casino Royale</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 22 Sep 2010 14:40:00 EST. Announced just moments ago at Capcom's pre-TGS press conference, here's just about everything we know about Ninja Theory's "reboot" of <em>Devil May Cry:</em> a trailer. Found after the break, this trailer (and the accompanying screens and artwork) share a new look for Dante, and a new direction for the franchise. Let's make this scientific, though. What do you think of the <em>Devil May Cry</em> reboot? <br />

Capcom has confirmed that <em>Enslaved/Heavenly Sword</em> developer Ninja Theory is applying its expertise to demon hunting, with a trailer for <em>DmC: Devil May Cry</em>.<br />
<br />
What, no number? It's a "rebirth of <em>Devil May Cry</em>," starring a younger Dante who may or may not be experiencing the events in the game for real, judging from the appearance in the trailer of a chained character who may be hallucinating. "We're hoping to make a game that even Capcom can be proud of," Ninja Theory director Tameem Antoniades said on stage. If you read the May issue of <em>Game Informer</em>, this rumor might sound familiar: Ninja Theory, developer of PS3 exclusive <em>Heavenly Sword</em> and the promising<em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/enslaved-odyssey-to-the-west">Enslaved: Odyssey to the West</a>,</em> may be tasked with creating a new entry in Capcom's <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/devil-may-cry">Devil May Cry</a></em> franchise (last seen in 2008). Capcom has repeatedly expressed interest in leaving some of its established franchises in the hands of Western studios, with <em>Bionic Commando</em> and <em>Dead Rising</em> all finding homes outside of Japan.<br />
<br />
The rumor has found its way back into circulation, thanks to a tweet and a trademark. According to Ninja Theory's <a href="http://twitter.com/NinjaTheory/status/24462598553">Twitter account</a>, a new game from the team is set to be announced at Tokyo Game Show, which opens on September 16th. Before that, however, Capcom will hold a press conference (a few hours away at the time of writing) and announce several new titles -- and "DMC" may be one of them.<br />
<br />
According to <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2010/09/14/dmc-trademark-hints-at-new-devil-may-cry-game/">Siliconera</a>, Capcom has filed a wide-ranging trademark for "DMC," covering everything from game software to mobile phone ringtones. The trademark isn't enough to reveal a collusion between Capcom and Ninja Theory (let alone a new <em>Devil May Cry</em> game), but it raises an interesting question: Will Andy Serkis play Dante or Nero?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/15/new-ninja-theory-game-to-be-announced-at-tgs-as-capcom-trademar/">New Ninja Theory game to be announced at TGS, as Capcom trademarks 'DMC'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 15 Sep 2010 01:10:00 EST. Microsoft has unfurled some of its <a href="http://gamerscoreblog.com/press/archive/2010/04/06/ws186.aspx">plans</a> for Xbox Live downloadable content for April, including new additions to Games on Demand and Deals of the Week, as well as the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/18/finally-final-fight-double-impact-arrives-april-14-and-15/">April 14th</a> release of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/final-fight-double-impact">Final Fight: Double Impact</a>.</em><br />
<br />
On top of that, look for a half-priced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-maw"><em>The Maw</em></a> on the week of April 12 and two add-ons for <em>Mega Man 10</em> this week: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/01/wiiware-mega-man-10-gets-dlc-bass-character-on-april-5/">Bass</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/23/mega-man-10-special-stages-bring-back-obscure-bosses/">Special Stage 1</a>. Capcom has good news for those of us with no tolerance for relics like <em>stores</em> and <em>boxes</em>: starting December 22, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/23/devil-may-cry-4-tears-up-pcs-this-summer-demo-on-the-way/">PC version</a> of<span style="font-style: italic;"> <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/devil-may-cry-4">Devil May Cry 4</a><em> </em></span>will be available for download on "the digital distribution partner of your choice," including, of course, <a href="http://shop.capcom.com/store/capcomus/en_US/DisplayProductDetailsPage/productID.169070300">Capcom's own shop</a>, where pre-orders are being accepted for $29.99. The 360 version will hit <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2009/12/10/lost_planet_colonies_and_devil_may_cry_4_coming_to_games_on_demand">Games on Demand</a>, along with <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/lost-planet"><em>Lost Planet Colonies Edition</em></a>, the same day.<br />
<br />
Capcom notes that the PC version of the action game features some enhancements not found in the console versions: altered enemy placements, a "Turbo Mode," an extra-difficult "Legendary Dark Knight Mode," among several visual tweaks. And now, it's enhanced with <em>buying it from home mode!</em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/15/you-may-download-pc-360-devil-may-cry-4-on-december-22/">You may download PC/360 Devil May Cry 4 on December 22</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 Dec 2009 15:45:00 EST. File this under the "unsurprising" category. After years of silence, it looks like the PSP version of <em>Devil May Cry</em> has been canned, indicated by the latest issue of Japanese mag <em>Famitsu</em> finally removing the title from its release list and noting the title's demise. <a href="http://psp.ign.com/articles/972/972989p1.html">IGN</a> notes that <em>Famitsu</em> has been wrong about these kinds of things in the past, but we're inclined to believe it this time.<br /><br />The news is disappointing, especially considering the incredible popularity of PSP in Japan. A <em>Devil May Cry</em> game for the handheld would've made quite a bit of cash, we think.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/15/famitsu-devil-may-cry-for-psp-canceled/">Famitsu: Devil May Cry for PSP canceled</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 15 Apr 2009 14:30:00 EST. In Tokyo last night, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sega">Sega</a> quietly announced plans for a "simultaneous worldwide release for Fall 2009" of action/hair manipulation game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bayonetta"><em>Bayonetta</em></a>. New screens revealed at the event show the game's heroine battling enemies on the side of a building, unleashing her guillotine on another and fighting a really, <em>really</em> shiny dragon. Would we expect any less from <em>Devil May Cry</em> director <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/hideki-kamiya">Hideki Kamiya</a>?<br />
<br />
As the press event held in Tokyo was, as you might expect, all in Japanese, we've reached out to Sega of America for confirmation of the <em>worldwide-ness</em> of this announcement. Call us skeptical, but we expect the next time we hear about the game won't be until E3. <br />

We may not always have loved every one of his games or his hairstyles, but we wanted to take a moment to tip our hat to Dante, whose <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/devil-may-cry"><em>Devil May Cry</em></a> series has reached the milestone of 10 million units shipped. For some perspective, 10 million pennies would make a six-foot by six-foot cube, a cube we imagined would be considerably larger and more impressive before we started doing the math.<br /><br />When asked if he was choked up by the news, Dante said, "Devils never cry ... These tears, tears are a gift only humans have." Nero later chimed in unprompted that he was going to Disneyworld.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/18/devil-may-cry-hits-10-million-shipped/">Devil May Cry hits 10 million shipped</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 18 Mar 2009 09:08:00 EST. There was a time - when he was working at Capcom, creating the likes of <em>Resident Evil 2</em>, <em>Devil May Cry,</em> and V<em>iewtiful Joe</em> - that Hideki Kamiya didn't say much. In fact, he hated doing interviews. Something's changed, because now that he's at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/platinum-games">Platinum Games</a>, the historically low-key director is letting his true feelings out - about action games, at least.<br /><br />Speaking to EGM, Kamiya said that, "I've never played <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ninja-gaiden"><em>Ninja Gaiden</em></a>, and to be honest, I'm not that interested." Itagaki could not be reached for comment on whether or not he felt that epic burn. <br /><br />So, what does the master designer actually like? <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/god-of-war"><em>God of War</em></a>. "There's one game that I am paying really close attention to, that I think is a rival game, a good game, which is called <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/god-of-war-iii"><em>God of War 3</em></a>," he revealed, boasting, "I want to make a game that exceeds <em>God of War'</em>s sequel." That game, he hopes, is his next: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bayonetta"><em>Bayonetta</em></a>. In particular, Kamiya credits Sony's series with being "Very carefully made," saying, "<em>Devil May Cry</em> was a bit rough, but I think that there's no roughness in <em>God of War</em>." Pretty nice words, eh, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/13/david-jaffe-blank-the-games-its-all-about-cool-names/">Mr. Jaffe</a>?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/04/devil-may-cry-director-hearts-god-of-war-ninja-gaiden-not-so-mu/">Devil May Cry director hearts God of War, Ninja Gaiden not so much</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Sep 2008 21:30:00 EST. A reader of <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/kramez/blog/2008/08/15/ask_capcom_weekly_roundup">Capcom Unity</a>, Capcom's official blog, posed a bold question to the crew during the blog's "Ask Capcom weekly roundup." He wanted to know why Capcom had 'forsaken the PSP.' He got the idea after listening to a silly rumor made by a friend and then further worried having seen Capcom's minimalist PSP release schedule. In response, Capcom strong arm Christian Svensson had this to say: "Absolutely 100% false ... We're still making new PSP games. We may be the most successful PSP publisher in the world with <em>Monster Hunter Portable 2nd</em> and <em>2ndG</em>. It'd be a difficult decision to defend stopping development when we have such success on the platform."<br /> <br />While it is reassuring to hear Capcom stomp out such an unwarranted rumor, we're sure most of you are still wondering what sort of games Capcom must be working on. Truth be told, there isn't too much known at the moment; <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fate-tiger-colosseum"><em>Fate/Tiger Colosseum Upper</em></a> is the only Capcom PSP game announced for release in the remainder of the year. That's a Japan-only title. Then we're brought to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/devil-may-cry"><em>Devil May Cry PSP</em></a>, which as of right now is still only a rumor. Since Capcom haven't officially said what these "new PSP games" are, then we'll pose a question upon our readers. What do you think Capcom might be working on?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/PSP/news.asp?c=8429">Pocket Gamer</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/18/capcom-crushes-rumors-still-strongly-supports-psp/">Capcom crushes rumors, still strongly supports PSP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 18 Aug 2008 14:30:00 EST. Their later musical crimes may keep them off of our 100 favorite artists list, but we have to admit that Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney were exactly right in the classic song "Ebony and Ivory" when they sang:<br /><br />"Ebony and Ivory, shoot together in perfect harmony. Side by side in some Japanese store, replicas from DMC."<br /><br />How did they know what <em>Devil May Cry</em> was back in 1982? We have absolutely no idea. But we like to think that Paul and Stevie would be happy to know that with replicas of the dual pistols now available from Wonder Festival, their dream of complete global racial harmony is one step closer. ... Maybe it was sitting back and seeing the competition (Marvel) clean house in the games industry but DC Comics has really jumped onto videogames lately. From <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mk-vs-dc">Mortal Kombat vs DC</a></em> to the game based on <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/24/watch-as-oldman-spills-the-dark-knight-game-details/">The Dark Knight</a></em> we all know is coming, DC is jumping in the gaming pool with both feet. Another example of DC going for a profit swim is the <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/capcom-comics-teaming-up-with-dc-comics-on-resident-evil-and-devil-may-cry-spin-offs">announcement</a> that DC Comics and Capcom plan to bring <em>Resident Evil</em> and <em>Devil May Cry</em> to the comic world.<br /> <br /> The agreement with Capcom isn't the only gaming deal DC has struck lately as the comic giant is also working with EA to release a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/24/dc-producing-mirrors-edge-prequel-comic/">six-part comic prequel</a> based on the upcoming Mirror's Edge and with Microsoft to publish a series based on Gears of War set to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/dc-set-to-publish-gears-of-war-comic-in-oct/">arrive in October</a>.<br /> <br /> No other details were given about the two Capcom projects but hope that DC's <em>Devil May Cry</em> comic series turns out well, otherwise <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamwave_Productions">they could end up filing for bankruptcy</a> like the last team who tried.<br /><br />[via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/30/dc-capcom-partner-for-resident-evil-devil-may-cry-comics/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/31/dc-capcom-partner-to-bring-resident-evil-and-devil-may-cry-to-t/">DC, Capcom partner to bring Resident Evil and Devil May Cry to the funny pages</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 Jul 2008 16:15:00 EST. <div align="left">A poster on Capcom Unity's <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/919275/Trophies_support?sdb=1">forums</a> has received an answer to the question of whether <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/devil-may-cry-4"><em>Devil May Cry 4</em></a> and <em>Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em> will be getting the trophy treatment and it is no. Capcom feels that <em>DMC4</em> already has "its own little trophylike system" and the <em>Puzzle Fighter</em> team has moved on to other projects.<br /><br />There is a tiny bit of good news though, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/super-street-fighter">Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</a></em> may have trophies implemented, but it will depend on "what schedules look like and what Sony's requirements are." The only real good news is future games from Capcom will all have trophies, as it has "been worked into CEI's developer contracts as a required deliverable." Have other publishers signed such a contract?<br /></div>
</div>
<br />This is rather disappointing, but after a string of <a style="" href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/03/no-trophy-patches-coming-from-infinity-ward-insomniac-or-2k-gam/">such</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/04/codemasters-not-planning-on-adding-trophies-to-grid/">reports</a>, we are not surprised. We are just really hoping <em>SSF2T HD Remix</em> will have support.<br /><br />[Thanks, Jake C.!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/05/capcom-no-trophy-support-for-devil-may-cry-4/">Capcom: No trophy support for Devil May Cry 4</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 05 Jul 2008 19:00:00 EST. We've seen Dante sit proudly atop many things; piles of enemies, thrones and building tops, to name a few. Now we can add "Capcom release calanders" to that list, as <em>Devil May Cry</em> for PSP is currently resting at the top of Capcom Japan's recent and future games list. Sure, there's no release date attached and the game was discussed by Capcom way back in June 2005, but we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/06/devil-may-cry-resurfaces">heard a rumor</a> only last September that the game will definitely release at some point. <br /><br />We're not in the habit of believing every rumor that's thrown at us, so we'll be waiting for E3 to see if anything is mentioned there. The PSP could definitely do with a few new games to flesh out its 2008 release schedule and <em>Devil May Cry </em>would be a perfect fit. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/04/capcom-co-jp-lists-devil-may-cry-for-psp">Joystiq</a>; thanks Joe]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/04/devil-may-cry-series-listed-on-capcom-psp-release-calander/">'Devil May Cry series' listed on Capcom PSP release calendar</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Jul 2008 11:30:00 EST. [Update: riot from <a href="http://www.gamespark.jp/">Gamespark.jp</a> - along with our own Andrew Yoon - let us know this listing has apparently been on Capcom's Japanese website since as far back as 2005. What's the deal, Capcom?]<br /><br />Rumors that <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Devil-May-Cry/">Devil May Cry</a></em> would be theatrically shooting its way onto the PSP are about as old as the PSP itself. As far back as June 2005, Capcom discussed <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/psp/action/devilmaycry/news.html?sid=6126708">bringing Devil May Cry to the PSP</a> along with nine other PSP titles; at that time, GameSpot wrote, "<em>Devil May Cry</em> [for the PSP] could see the light of day before 2006." By the time 2006 rolled around, still no sign of <em>Devil May Cry</em> for PSP, save for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/07/devil-may-cry-coming-to-the-psp/">a mention on Capcom's Japanese website</a>.<br /><br />So here we are, two years on, and again we're seeing a mention of Devil May Cry for PSP on Capcom's Japanese site. Included at the top of a list of recently released and not-yet-released PSP games, "Devil May Cry" is alone in its absence of a release date, a price, or a linked website. Hit the Source link to see if it's still there or, just in case they've noticed that Dante crawled out of his cage and taken it down, we've got a screengrab after the break. Just a reminder: Capcom's E3 press conference is at 10:30ET on July 15th. Just saying ... <br /><br />[Thanks, Jared; via <a href="http://v-f-h.blogspot.com/2008/07/devil-may-cry-on-psp.html">VFH</a>]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/04/capcom-co-jp-lists-devil-may-cry-for-psp/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Capcom.co.jp lists Devil May Cry for PSP [Update]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/04/capcom-co-jp-lists-devil-may-cry-for-psp/">Capcom.co.jp lists Devil May Cry for PSP [Update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Jul 2008 09:00:00 EST. Following the Cannes Film Festival this past week, Bloomberg Japan is reporting that Capcom might be looking to <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601101&amp;sid=amJpPcYK5wgU">capitalize on its hottest video game properties</a> through various film deals. The strategy, according to Bloomberg, would closely resemble one struck by Marvel Comics years ago, where movie studios sign off on various properties, such as the already-established <em>Resident Evil</em> series, and potential silver-screen newcomer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/devil-may-cry"><em>Devil May Cry</em></a>.<br /><br />Capcom reportedly was approached by several movie studios to license out their properties. According to Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto, the company hopes to announce more concrete plans in the near future. <em>Mega Man</em>, anyone? Here's hoping.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/23/capcom-considering-marvel-esque-movie-deals/">Capcom considering Marvel-esque movie deals</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 23 May 2008 19:55:00 EST. You know the industry's come a long way when consoles are no longer the exclusive domain of androgynous, sword-waving jackasses with glowing demon arms. Capcom has sent us a reminder that the <em>Personal Computer</em> version of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dmc4"><em>Devil May Cry 4</em></a>, the latest (and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/20/devil-may-cry-4-sheds-2-million-tears/">commercially successful</a>) entry in its slash-and-shoot saga, is due to arrive "THIS SUMMER." Said version will enhance Nero and Dante's adventure by adding "new modes, enhanced graphics options and some additional content."<br /><br />For those not sold on the joys of launching demons into the air and then shooting them repeatedly, Capcom will offer a demo and performance benchmark before the retail version ships.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/23/devil-may-cry-4-tears-up-pcs-this-summer-demo-on-the-way/">Devil May Cry 4 tears up PCs this Summer, demo on the way</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Apr 2008 18:30:00 EST. How does some half price demon killing action sound? This is only for UK <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dmc4"><em>Devil May Cry 4</em></a> fans we're afraid, but Amazon are offering the latest episode of the franchise for only &pound;25. There's no saying how long this deal will last, so be sure to grab it before it ends. If it ends. If you're not entirely sure about whether the game is for you, then check out <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/04/ps3-fanboy-review-devil-may-cry-4/">our review</a> (spoiler: it rocks).<br /><br />[Thanks Charlie]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/31/deal-of-the-day-dmc4-for-25/">Deal of the day: DMC4 for £25</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 31 Mar 2008 18:30:00 EST. <div align="left">As I violently disassembled insectile robots into their constituent sparks and parts, someone asked me which game <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/TooHuman/">Too Human</a></em> reminded me of. Without pause, I pointed towards <em>Devil May Cry</em>, Capcom's over-the-top display of acrobatic swordsmanship and stylish oneupmanship. It made perfect sense -- the dual pistols, the melee mashing, the juggling of enemies and the utter disregard for the forces of gravity made it a close match, with the exception of whimpering demons having been replaced by spidery robots. <br /></div>
<br />I don't think the comparison is inaccurate given <em>Too Human</em>'s wonderfully chaotic encounters, but I've since come up with one that more closely conveys my somewhat conflicted opinion. <em>Too Human</em> is very much like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/MassEffect/" style="font-style: italic;">Mass Effect</a>, and not just in terms of technology, grand science fiction settings and <em>heroic bald men</em>, but in how it presents a role-playing game within the shell of an action game. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/too-human-gdc-2008/">Too Human</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/too-human-gdc-2008/#651433"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/02/too-human-gdc-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/too-human-gdc-2008/#651447"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/02/too-human-gdc-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/too-human-gdc-2008/#651454"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/02/too-human-gdc-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/too-human-gdc-2008/#651466"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/02/too-human-gdc-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/too-human-gdc-2008/#651463"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/02/too-human-gdc-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/20/gdc08-hands-on-with-too-human/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GDC08: Hands-on with Too Human</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/20/gdc08-hands-on-with-too-human/">GDC08: Hands-on with Too Human</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Feb 2008 06:30:00 EST. <em>Devil May Cry 4</em> has done tremendously well in the UK during its opening five days, pushing <em>Burnout Paradise</em> from the number 1 spot. While exact numbers aren't available, the game currently resides at the top of not only the PS3 and 360 charts, but the all formats chart too. 39% of sales are attributed to the PS3 copy of the game (well, technically that 39% accounts for PC sales too, but the PC version isn't out yet, so it's a moot point). <br /><br />At first glance 39% doesn't seem like a lot, but when you consider the numerous reasons UK gamers had to choose the Xbox 360 version over the PS3 version then the number starts looking less and less disappointing. Not only was the PS3 version a full &pound;10 more expensive, but it also "suffered" from a 20 minute installation procedure before people could start playing. This is ignoring the PS3's lagging install base of more than a million. So, that 39% isn't looking too shabby now, is it? <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/12/devil-may-cry-4-tears-up-uk-charts/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/12/ps3-version-of-dmc4-accounts-for-39-of-uk-sales/">PS3 version of DMC4 accounts for 39% of UK sales</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 12 Feb 2008 19:30:00 EST. Residents of the United States and Canada are invited to enter the contest once per day until the draw closes on February 22 at 9:59pm PST. We recommend the Xbox 360 version, only because we tend to play games as soon as we insert them into our consoles and not when we're planning to take a long hot bubble bath while it <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/capcom-addresses-devil-may-cry-4-install-complaints/">installs</a>. As we are apparently not worthy to receive a copy of our own (please, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Capcom/">Capcom</a>!), we figured we'd point out the review for our readers. For the most part, everything in the review should apply to the Xbox 360 version as well. You know, things like good gameplay, great graphics, and wonky camera angles. Those things should pop up on your 360 as well. You should, however, disregard the mishegoss about installing the game onto a hard drive and also the single reference to the O button. Everything else should be copacetic. Oh, and in case you're wondering, the game looks to be pretty damned good.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/ps3f-reviews-devil-may-cry-4/">PS3F reviews Devil May Cry 4</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 05 Feb 2008 14:00:00 EST. The game hasn't even been released yet and already there's a lot of online controversy over <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dmc4"><em>Devil May Cry 4</em>'s</a> installation procedure. The game takes around 20 minutes to install about 5 gigabytes of data to your hard drive, during which there's a five-minute looping recap slideshow. Capcom's Chris Kramer <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=181491?cid=OTC-RSS&amp;attr=CVG-General-RSS">responded to CVG</a> with a statement regarding the issue: <span class="text_article_body"> "If you don't want to watch the 'Previously, on <em>Devil May Cry</em>...' portion of the install process, go make a sandwich and grab a soda, then come on back."<br /><br /> Kramer continues, </span><span class="text_article_body">"Wah! Have you ever played a PC game? At least we aren't making you shuffle multiple discs into a ROM drive, or continuously click 'Yes!' on a series of endless Windows dialog boxes." Wah, indeed! We agree completely with Kramer on this -- a twenty minute long installation sequence is not a big deal. It cuts down on load times, making it load faster than the 360 version <em>despite</em> the slower drive speed. Without the install, players would be complaining about lengthy load times. Which is better? That's a hypothetical question because we already know and, clearly, so does Capcom.<br /></span><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/capcom-on-dmc4-installation-whats-the-big-deal/">Capcom on DMC4 installation: What's the big deal?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 05 Feb 2008 13:30:00 EST. This week marks the North American release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/04/new-games-this-week-devil-may-cry-4-edition/"><em>Devil May Cry 4</em></a> for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. To celebrate, the crew at PS3 Fanboy have written a <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/02/04/devil-may-cry-a-series-retrospective/">retrospective</a> on the series as a whole. It's a good refresher for those who haven't touched the series in a long time (or ever). It also makes for a great read while PS3 owners wade through the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/07/devil-may-cry-4-for-ps3-gets-achievements/">required installation</a>. (About 30 minutes in length, according to PS Fanboy editor Andrew Yoon.)<br /><br />Concluding the retrospective is a review of <em>Devil May Cry 4</em>. You can browse the retrospective via the links below and enjoy our rather extensive gallery.<br />
