Looks like this is it, as Green Man Gaming is <a href="http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/us/en/pc/games/shooter/sine-mora/">currently offering</a> the Steam version of the game for a paltry two bucks, a full $0.50 off the already ridiculous price of $2.50. All you have to do is enter the promo code GMG20-PJFEW-Y16HK.<br /><br />If that's not enough to pique your interest, did we mention that it also features super dramatic animal people speaking in Hungarian?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/04/grab-sine-mora-pc-for-2-on-green-man-gaming/">Grab Sine Mora PC for $2 on Green Man Gaming</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Jan 2013 16:30:00 EST. Its dark tales of captured princesses, feuding sisters and the eternally damned are permeated by a sense of macabre wonderment that would make Guillermo del Toro proud.<br /><br />Unfortunately, the game is also analogous to fables of olde in a different, more tragic sense: It serves as a perfect cautionary tale for other developers, lest their own games buckle under the weight of their own sense of style.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/black-knight-sword-12-13-12/">Black Knight Sword (12/13/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/black-knight-sword-12-13-12/#5500080"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/bks-9-710x430_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/black-knight-sword-12-13-12/#5500081"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/bks-10-710x430_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/black-knight-sword-12-13-12/#5500082"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/bks-11-710x430_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/black-knight-sword-12-13-12/#5500083"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/bks-12-710x430_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/black-knight-sword-12-13-12/#5500084"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/bks-13-710x430_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/14/black-knight-sword-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Black Knight Sword review: All flash, no flesh</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/14/black-knight-sword-review/">Black Knight Sword review: All flash, no flesh</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 14 Dec 2012 12:00:00 EST. The puppet-style side-scroller, announced at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/grasshopper-and-digital-reality-reveal-black-knight-sword-for/">Gamescom</a> in 2011, features constantly-shifting stage backgrounds, in the story of a Black Knight and his magical sword, on a journey to destroy, rather than save, a princess.<br /><br />With the long, quiet development time, we wonder how much the game has changed. Specifically, we're worried the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/06/preview-sine-mora-and-black-knight-sword/">chicken guy who throws eggs at you</a> isn't going to be there anymore.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/black-knight-sword-12-6-12/">Black Knight Sword (12/6/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/black-knight-sword-12-6-12/#5484228"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/bksscreenshot720p04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/black-knight-sword-12-6-12/#5484229"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/bksscreenshot720p09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/06/black-knight-sword-brandished-on-xbla-dec-12/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Black Knight Sword brandished on XBLA Dec. 12</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/06/black-knight-sword-brandished-on-xbla-dec-12/">Black Knight Sword brandished on XBLA Dec. 12</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 Dec 2012 16:30:00 EST. And yet, now that developer Digital Reality sends us <a href="http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=33108138&amp;msgid=485265&amp;act=VGDA&amp;c=275324&amp;destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.digitalreality.eu%2Fmedia%2Fsinemora%2FSineMoraShips.zip">authentic instructions</a> for how to make Lego replicas of the Merenstein VI and BS4-VR Soprano, we find building these ships is <em>exactly</em> how we want to spend the next few hours. Screw games, there's Lego to be building!<br /><br />Sadly, the above picture isn't of a set you can buy in stores, as awesome as that would be. You'll have to go about getting the pieces yourself, most likely from various sets - the instructions do at least provide you at the end with a list of the pieces needed. Then again, if you're seriously contemplating making these ships then we reckon you're probably the kind of person who already has every piece needed. And we genuinely envy you.<br /><br />If you've yet to experience <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/21/sine-mora-review/"><em>Sine Mora </em>on XBLA</a>, the good news is that the game's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/09/psa-sine-mora-brings-bullets-steampunk-and-hungarian-to-pc-to/">already flown its way to PC</a>, and is journeying across to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/15/sine-mora-almost-a-digital-reality-on-vita-and-ps3/">PS3 and Vita next week, via PSN</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/16/build-em-up-make-sine-mora-ships-in-lego/">Build-em-up: make Sine Mora ships in Lego</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 16 Nov 2012 12:15:00 EST. Kalypso Media informs us it'll be priced at $14.99/&pound;9.99, and that those other digital portals include Green Man Gaming, GamersGate, Amazon Digital, Metaboli, and Kalypso's own online store.<br /><br />Co-developed by Suda 51's Grasshopper Manufacture, <em>Sine Mora</em> arrived on XBLA <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/21/sine-mora-review/">earlier this year</a>. Since then Digital Reality announced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/04/sine-mora-takes-flight-on-ps-vita-soon/">Vita</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/21/sine-mora-coming-to-ps3-as-well/">PS3</a> ports, but neither has yet come good on releasing "soon." In the meantime, we'll stay on the lookout for <a href="http://www.chud.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/4958290775421055_l.jpg">killer pianos</a>*. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-pc/">Sine Mora (PC)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-pc/#5404657"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/11/firstpc-screenssinemora01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-pc/#5404658"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/11/firstpc-screenssinemora02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-pc/#5404659"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/11/firstpc-screenssinemora03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-pc/#5404660"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/11/firstpc-screenssinemora04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-pc/#5404661"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/11/firstpc-screenssinemora05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div> <small>* Yes, the game really has a killer piano, and no, it doesn't look like that one.</small><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/01/sine-mora-rains-bullets-and-pianos-on-pc-nov-9/">Sine Mora rains bullets and pianos on PC Nov. 9</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 01 Nov 2012 14:00:00 EST. As the genre has evolved, difficulty has dramatically increased -- as has the number of bullets -- relegating my interest into the realm of fascination rather than participation. I can certainly appreciate a game like <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/ikaruga"><em>Ikaruga</em></a>, for example, but I've come to terms with the fact that I lack the dedication to ever finish it (or probably even clear the second level).<br /><br />That's why <em>Sine Mora</em> is so refreshing. It offers up both a serious challenge for serious shooter fans and a palatable experience for lapsed addicts like myself.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-gamescom-2011/">Sine Mora (Gamescom 2011)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-gamescom-2011/#4669143"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/sinemorascreen01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-gamescom-2011/#4669144"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/sinemorascreen02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-gamescom-2011/#4669145"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/sinemorascreen03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-gamescom-2011/#4669146"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/sinemorascreen04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sine-mora-gamescom-2011/#4669147"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/sinemorascreen05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/21/sine-mora-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sine Mora review: A shmup in time</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/21/sine-mora-review/">Sine Mora review: A shmup in time</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 Mar 2012 15:00:00 EST. A slight change of plans for Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Reality's upcoming downloadable shooter, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sine-mora">Sine Mora</a></em>: it'll only be downloadable on Xbox. The two companies announced today that the "diesel-punk" time-shifting shmup is now an XBLA exclusive, despite its original status as both an XBLA and PSN release. There is still no known release date for the side-scroller.<br />
<br />
That makes two upcoming XBLA exclusives for Suda 51's studio. The upcoming <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/diabolical-pitch"><em>Diabolical Pitch </em></a>is a de facto exclusive both because it's being published by Microsoft Studios, and because it's Kinect-based.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/08/grasshopper-and-digital-realitys-sine-mora-now-an-xbla-exclusiv/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Grasshopper and Digital Reality's Sine Mora now an XBLA exclusive</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/08/grasshopper-and-digital-realitys-sine-mora-now-an-xbla-exclusiv/">Grasshopper and Digital Reality's Sine Mora now an XBLA exclusive</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 08 Dec 2011 18:25:00 EST. PSN/XBLA titles <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sine-mora"><em>Sine Mora</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/black-knight-sword"><em>Black Knight Sword</em></a> are the result of a new partnership between Grasshopper Manufacture and Hungarian studio Digital Reality. Of course, both games are strange, though only <em>one</em> of them is strange in the familiar Grasshopper Manufacture milieu. Both of them strongly suggest that this is a worthwhile collaboration.<br />
<br />
<em>Sine Mora</em> is a traditional side-scrolling shooter, developed by Digital Reality with assistance from GHM. "The art direction, sound design, music by Akira Yamaoka, it's all coming from Grasshopper," explained Digital Reality creative Theodore Reiker. "Digital Reality, we have a ten-member-strong team making the programming, the 3D modeling, and the game design." That art style is a steampunk-esque world of big, complicated machines, airships, and squat, gunmetal-colored planes against skies of bright Sega blue. It was originally a much darker game, but Reiker explained that Grasshopper and Digital Reality eventually came to a "consensus" that the game should look like Studio Ghibli's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porco_Rosso"><em>Porco Rosso</em></a>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/06/preview-sine-mora-and-black-knight-sword/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Preview: Sine Mora and Black Knight Sword</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/06/preview-sine-mora-and-black-knight-sword/">Preview: Sine Mora and Black Knight Sword</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 Oct 2011 04:30:00 EST. Apart from some <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/03/see-more-of-sine-mora-in-its-first-trailer/">announcements</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/grasshopper-and-digital-reality-reveal-black-knight-sword-for/">trailers</a>, we haven't seen much of <em>Sine Mora</em> or <em>Black Knight Sword</em>, two upcoming downloadable titles from Digital Reality and Grasshopper Manufacture. Until now, that is, thanks to a demonstration we received at TGS. In the video above, you will find over four minutes of gameplay footage, as demonstrated by Digital Reality creative director Theodore Reiker. After the break, find a generous portion of <em>Black Knight Sword</em> footage and a new trailer.<br />
<br />
Keep an eye out for our hands-on impressions of both titles soon.<br />

<br />
Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Reality are partnering for a second XBLA/PSN game, in addition to <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sine-mora"><em>Sine Mora</em></a>. Announced at a Grasshopper Manufacture event during Gamescom, <em>Black Knight Sword</em> is a side-scrolling platform action game that takes place in a sort of puppet play. The scrolling is made to look like the character is actually standing in place, and the background elements are constantly shuffled and replaced as if on a stage.<br />
<br />
In the above video, taken by <a href="http://www.gamer365.hu/show-article.php?id=14808&amp;news">Gamer365</a>, Akira Yamaoka introduces the game. It's been about a year since we last heard anything about <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sine-mora"><em>Sine Mora</em></a>, the shmup from Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Reality -- and what we heard then was that it existed. Now, as the next GamesCom approaches, we have our first look at the "diesel-punk" shooter in a new trailer.<br />
<br />
<em>Sine Mora</em> takes place in a world of retro-futuristic submersible biplane things, mecha steamships, giant octo-bots, and overwrought voiceover. We'll get the opportunity to inhabit this world (and shoot everything in it, of course) via XBLA and PSN "this winter," the trailer reveals.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/03/see-more-of-sine-mora-in-its-first-trailer/">See more of Sine Mora in its first trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 03 Aug 2011 11:00:00 EST. This <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dead-block"><em>Dead Block</em></a> trailer is challenging everything we know about zombie lore. Demonstrating one of the boy scout's unique abilities, the character prepares and tosses out a hamburger, which lures a crowd of zombies to it before exploding.<br />
<br />
Does that mean that, for all these years, people in movies could have just fed the zombies a tasty burger and been done with it? That would make zombies just really stupid hungry people. Or maybe ... maybe that kid just cooked a burger made of human flesh.<br />
<br />
<em>Dead Block </em>is out today on XBLA; a PSN release will follow on July 20.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/06/dead-block-co-op-trailer-includes-a-surprisingly-effective-burge/">Dead Block co-op trailer includes a surprisingly effective burger</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Jul 2011 17:00:00 EST. Candygun Games and Digital Reality Publishing are teaming up to release a bizarre-looking ... um ... <em>street</em> defense game called <em>Dead Block</em>, coming this summer to XBLA, PSN and PC. Worried as you might be that the street itself is a zombie, you're thankfully mistaken -- turns out that the game is centered on the last remaining survivors of a 1950s zombie outbreak, holed up on one particular block of Americana.<br />
<br />
Players control one of three different characters (swappable on the fly) in a third-person view, and apply direct or tactical violence in the form of traps to stop the stream of zombies. What's bizarre is the mix of characters, which ranges from a beefy construction worker with questionable mustache to a Blaxsploitation-era, gun-toting <em>foxy</em> lady to a chubby boyscout thrown in for good measure.<br />
<br />
Despite the seeming anachronism of some of the game's characters, <em>Dead Block's</em> first trailer makes the game look rather promising. Head past the break and see for yourself.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-block/">Dead Block</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-block/#4112028"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/05/deadblock-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-block/#4112029"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/05/deadblock-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-block/#4112030"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/05/deadblock-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-block/#4112031"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/05/deadblock-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-block/#4112032"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/05/deadblock-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/06/dead-block-pairs-three-unlikely-survivors-against-the-zombie-mas/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dead Block pairs three unlikely survivors against the zombie masses this summer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/06/dead-block-pairs-three-unlikely-survivors-against-the-zombie-mas/">Dead Block pairs three unlikely survivors against the zombie masses this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 May 2011 12:00:00 EST.
