GamersGate is hosting <a href="http://www.gamersgate.com/games?q=bethesdaweekend&amp;prio=relevance">a big sale on Bethesda titles</a> this weekend, featuring games from the last few years of the company's history on sale for a fraction of the usual price. <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dishonored"><em>Dishonored</em></a>, for example, is <a href="http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-DISHONORED/dishonored">available for a low $14.99</a>, or you can get <a href="http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-ES5S/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim"><em>Skyrim</em> for $14.95</a>, <a href="http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-RAGE/rage"><em>Rage</em> for $9.95</a>, or <em>Fallout: New Vegas</em>' Ultimate Edition <a href="http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-FNVUE/fallout-new-vegas-ultimate-edition">for $9.95</a>. <em>Brink, Oblivion, Fallout 3</em>, and <em>Morrowind</em> are all listed at bargain prices as well.<br />
<br />
A few of the titles have dropped out of stock already, which means that GamersGate has run out of digital keys for them. But as long as the title is still available for purchase, you can buy it, and then GamersGate will deliver a key when more are available. The deals last through the weekend, so now's your chance to fill out that Bethesda back catalog you've been missing.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/10/gamersgate-offering-bethesdas-best-for-cheap-this-weekend/">GamersGate offering Bethesda's best for cheap this weekend</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 May 2013 03:00:00 EST. Or, in outdated gold-rush vernacular, <em>two sawbucks</em>, which is enough for a new sifting pan and some chew from the General Store.<br /><br />Both versions of the game <em>must</em> be purchased during the same Amazon transaction for the $20 discount to be applied, so anyone that has already pre-ordered either version of the game needs to first cancel their existing pre-order for everything to work properly.<br /><br />As we first learned when the North American versions of this game were announced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/13/monster-hunter-3-ultimate-announced-for-wii-u-and-3ds-available/">back in September</a>, <em>Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate</em> is capable of sharing save files between the Wii U and 3DS, allowing for continuous progression across both platforms. Additionally, the 3DS version can be locally linked with the Wii U version for couch multiplayer fun times.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/15/buy-both-monster-hunter-3-ultimates-get-20-off/">Buy both Monster Hunter 3 Ultimates, get $20 off</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 15 Feb 2013 19:45:00 EST. The free Steam Weekend includes <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/35450/">all of the game's content</a> from the 'Game of the Year' edition along with the new <em>Red Orchestra 2</em> 'Fall 2012 content pack,' which features a fresh map and a number of updates.<br /><br />Double XP bonuses are available to all players - whether they already own <em>Red Orchestra 2</em>, or participating in the free weekend. If you decide to add the game to your library, <em>Red Orchestra 2</em> will be available for 75% off until Monday. Just think, 70 years ago this month, Russian soldiers were fighting for their lives in the freezing winter cold, and now you, with that hot chocolate and those footie pajamas, can have a fun afternoon pretending to do the same for free.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/13/red-orchestra-2-celebrates-fall-2012-content-pack-with-free-stea/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Red Orchestra 2 celebrates Fall 2012 content pack with free Steam weekend</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/13/red-orchestra-2-celebrates-fall-2012-content-pack-with-free-stea/">Red Orchestra 2 celebrates Fall 2012 content pack with free Steam weekend</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Dec 2012 23:59:00 EST. All told, says the organization, the bundle raised $5 million, split as buyers chose between THQ, charity donations, and the Humble Bundle group itself.<br /><br />The whole project seems to have been a rousing success: 885,251 bundles went out the door, and THQ <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/10/thq-humble-bundle-adds-warhammer-40k-dawn-of-war/">added a few big games</a> into the pack during the sale. The average price for all titles sold was $5.76, and the top contributor to the cause was THQ's president Jason Rubin, who at the end had contributed a total of $10,000 to the proceedings.<br /><br />In fact, considering <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/15/thq-sees-net-loss-of-239-9-million-still-in-business/">THQ's financial battles lately</a>, this might be one of the company's biggest successes this year. Wonder what else they've got over there to bundle up and sell out the door?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/12/humble-thq-bundle-ends-earns-5-million-from-885-000-bundles/">Humble THQ Bundle ends, earns $5 million from 885,000 bundles</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Dec 2012 20:30:00 EST. Both <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/resident-evil-5"><em>Resident Evil 5</em></a> and the non-canon spinoff <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/resident-evil-operation-raccoon-city"><em>Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City</em></a> are available for half price, making the first one $9.99, and the second $24.99 for the base game, or $38.94 with all of the DLC included.<br /><br />At those prices, there's never been a better time to sign the rent agreement and let the Evil move on in. Just in time for you and your sweetheart to blow apart a few zombie heads, the game will be available for $6.99. For the next two weeks following its release, a free avatar will be included with purchase, making it a little like getting a Kit Kat bar with your very own Whitman's Sampler.<br /><br />PlayStation Plus members have an even better deal: They'll be able to get <em>House of the Dead 3</em> for 30% off until February 28, and will also get an exclusive theme and a few more avatars with the title. And starting today, PS Plus members can download the demo of the game, an exclusive that lasts until February 21.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/07/house-of-the-dead-3-on-psn-next-week-demo-out-now-for-ps-plus/">House of the Dead 3 on PSN next week, demo out now for PS Plus</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 Feb 2012 23:00:00 EST. Amazon's not quite able to bend time just yet, but it can offer you a $20 credit on a brand new copy of the just-released <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/final-fantasy-xiii-2"><em>Final Fantasy XIII-2</em></a>, not to mention a digitized "mini strategy guide." We're hopeful that the strategies are bigger than the guide itself.<br /><br />Should you choose to go with <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B003O6JIVE/">Amazon's deal</a>, you could always put the $20 credit towards a flux capacitor or something that might actually facilitate time travel. Maybe hallucinogens? We're not sure if Amazon's in that racket yet, but that's another potential avenue for seeking your desire to float across the pond of time. Maybe a Doors album is a better way to go?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/31/final-fantasy-xiii-2-purchases-on-amazon-net-20-gift-card/">Final Fantasy XIII-2 purchases on Amazon net $20 gift card</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 31 Jan 2012 18:30:00 EST. The PlayStation Blog has <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/03/30/coming-to-playstation-plus-stardrone-discount-dungeon-hunter-and-sonic-the-hedgehog-2-exclusive/">revealed the next round of perks</a> lined up for PlayStation Plus subscribers, including free games, some exclusive deals and one big full game trial. First up, the free stuff: The Trophy-supported version of <a href="http://joystiq.com/games/sonic-the-hedgehog-2"><em>Sonic the Hedgehog 2</em></a> will be free to Plus members as of next Tuesday, April 5, as will <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/duael-invaders"><em>Duael Invaders</em></a>, the PSN minis shmup. Members will also get a free "Men of <em>Yakuza 4</em>" theme and a Crane Dance theme, both on April 12.<br />
<br />
Sony's also offering up discounts for Plus members, including <em>Stardrone</em> for $4, <em>Hamsterball</em> for $3.99 and <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/03/09/dungeon-hunter-alliance-comes-to-psn-this-april/">the upcoming <em>Dungeon Hunter: Alliance</em> action RPG</a> for $9.74, a few bucks off the standard $12.99 price. Finally, on April 12, Plus members will have access to a full game trial of the first <em>Assassin's Creed</em>, just in case you've never played Alta&iuml;r's original adventure. (Spoiler: it's good, but the sequels are <em>much</em> better.)<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/31/playstation-plus-members-getting-free-sonic-2-dungeon-hunter-di/">PlayStation Plus members getting free Sonic 2, Dungeon Hunter discount</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 Mar 2011 00:00:00 EST. Indie developer Eskil Steenberg's procedural, super-pretty world-building MMO <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/love">Love</a></em> has gone through a ton of changes in the past few months -- all of which are highlighted in <a href="http://www.quelsolaar.com/press.htm">this press release</a>, which isn't a press release at all, but rather, a Craigslist Missed Connections Listing. How <em>wonderful</em>.<br />
<br />
The most significant change? The game's pay-per-play subscription fee has been reduced to &euro;10 (call it: $13.50 and change) for 180 days of playtime. (Previously, &euro;10 got you just 30 days of <em>Love</em>.)<br />
<br />
You can check out a video demonstration of some of the game's new features (as well as a basic tutorial led by Eskil himself) after the jump. Just try to stop the video <em>as soon</em> as it's over, because as you might imagine, the YouTube suggestions for a video titled "Love Tutorial" are <em>unspeakably</em> weird.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/24/you-can-put-a-price-on-love-and-that-price-is-now-ten-euros/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>You can put a price on Love, and that price is now 10 euros</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/24/you-can-put-a-price-on-love-and-that-price-is-now-ten-euros/">You can put a price on Love, and that price is now 10 euros</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 24 Jan 2011 22:10:00 EST. Amazon's on day 17 of its festival of discounts, ringing in the ultimate day with savings on music games across the board. We'll get right to what you <em>need to know</em>: <em>Kidz Bop Dance Party The Video Game</em> for Nintendo Wii is going for just $24.99! Okay, okay, yes, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/rock-band-3">Rock Band 3</a></em> is also on sale for just $39.95 -- not to mention <em>The Beatles: Rock Band</em> going for a paltry $14.<br />
<br />
The sale runs until the end of business today, so get on that soon if you're looking to snag a heavily discounted copy of "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/22/rock-band-3-review/">the greatest rhythm game ever made</a>." (Nice hyperbole, <em>reviewers</em>! <strong>Update:</strong> Kmart.com stopped the promotion, citing an error in the company's computer system that has since been fixed. Sorry folks!<br />
<br />
In our never-ending quest to acquire all Microsoft Avatar clothing and props, we relish the moments when Microsoft Point cards are discounted in real-life money. This is one of those moments, with <a href="http://slickdeals.net/?pno=43115&amp;lno=1&amp;afsrc=1">Kmart.com</a> giving 20 percent off of "select game accessories" -- including 4000 MS Point cards. <br />
<br />
To be extra clear, that's $50 in points for $40. As <a href="http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/43115">SlickDeals.net</a> points out, though, the discount doesn't apply until you've added the card to your virtual basket, and you must enter "KMGIFTS" for free shipping -- "YOGIMMETHISFORFREE" does <em>not</em> work.<br type="_moz" /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/07/kmart-offering-4000-ms-point-card-for-40/">Kmart offering 4000 MS Point card for $40 [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 Dec 2010 11:45:00 EST. Let's be honest -- you're buying <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/portal-2"><em>Portal 2</em></a> (who isn't, right?) and, since it's a Valve game, you probably want to just pick it up on Steam, right? Not so fast -- GameStop is going to do its best to convince you otherwise. The retail chain is offering <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=77276">both a $5 discount</a> on the Aperture Science training program emulator as well as the chance to get two exclusive "custom bots" for the multiplayer co-op portion of the game if you preorder with them.<br />
<br />
What do said bots look like? We don't yet know -- what you see above is what we've got so far. They could be black instead of white, or even branded with official GameStop employee t-shirts (actually, that might be pretty rad). But the thought of extra content, GameStop hopes, might be enough to entice you away from a digital download, and back to buying an actual disc at a retail store. We supposed that, when dealing with an announcement as tremendously dull as the fact that protection plans for PlayStation 3 <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/08/24/coming-to-playstation-plus-discounted-playstation-protection-plan/">can now be purchased via the PSN Store</a>, you have to appreciate even the smallest sparkle. In this case, it's that PlayStation Plus subscribers can purchase a two-year extended console warranty for what the unwashed masses must spend for only <em>one</em> <em>year</em>.<br />
<br />
Yes, your dues for being a part of the PlayStation Plus service entitle you to ... the opportunity to pay for another PlayStation service -- at a discount, mind you! We're talking $44.99 for a two-year plan, down from $59.99. Sony is keen to point out that a one-year plan costs non-subscribers $44.99; we're keen to point out that you can't get something for nothing. (And that PS+ updates have <em>already</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/03/playstation-plus-updates-now-coming-every-other-week/">gone bi-weekly</a>.)<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/25/playstation-plus-subscribers-get-access-to-fantastic-protect/">PlayStation Plus subscribers get access to fantastic ... protection plan discount</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 25 Aug 2010 04:00:00 EST. From August 8 through August 14, <a href="http://blogs.mykmart.com/2010/08/wii-console-sale.html">Kmart is offering</a> lowered -- and some <em>dramatically</em> lowered -- pricing on Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 (the older, <em>less svelte</em> models) and Sony PSP. As this is an inventory clearance sale, we're not looking at discounts on PSP Gos and brand new black Wiis, so much as the original Wii with <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/wii-sports">Wii Sports</a></em> going for $149.99 (normally $200) and PSP "Entertainment Packs" (think Hannah Montana's purple PSP) going for $129.99 (normally $200).<br />
<br />
Remaining inventories of Xbox 360 Arcade systems will be discounted as low as $129.99 (normally $150), and 120GB Elite models will drop to $199.99 (normally $250). If you can find an <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/final-fantasy-xiii">FFXIII</a></em>, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/splinter-cell-conviction">Splinter Cell: Conviction</a></em>, or <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/modern-warfare-2">Modern Warfare 2</a></em> "Super Elite" bundle (read: 250GB HDD), they'll be going for $279.99 (normally $350). We'd like to apologize in advance to all the Kmart employees about to receive a flood of customer service calls.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/08/kmart-holding-inventory-clearance-sale-wii-360-psp-all-discou/">Kmart holding inventory clearance sale; Wii, 360, PSP all discounted</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 08 Aug 2010 11:30:00 EST. To celebrate the <a href="http://www.lotro.com/news/674-party-in-middle-earth">arrival of its third birthday</a> -- or, as is more accurate when describing the age of MMOs, the third year it's managed to avoid the sweet release of a global server shutdown -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/lord-of-the-rings-online"><em>Lord of the Rings Online</em></a> is seeing a temporary reduction in the cost of its monthly subscription fee. From April 26 to June 30, you can grab a three, six or 12 month subscription for <em>LotRO</em> for just $9.99 a month, down from the standard rate of $14.99 a month.<br />
<br />
In addition, Turbine is turning up the rare item drop rate for monsters during the birthday festivities, and is providing each player with a skill which reduces the price of vendor goods by 20 percent. That's awfully nice of the studio, but aren't birthday-havers supposed to <em>receive</em> presents, and not <em>give</em> them? We're not complaining, mind you -- we just feel like we're taking advantage.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/26/lord-of-the-rings-online-celebrating-3rd-birthday-with-10-subsc/">Lord of the Rings Online celebrating 3rd birthday with $10 subscription</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Apr 2010 19:30:00 EST. So, in anticipation of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/26/halo-reach-pre-beta-video-walkthroughs-gameplay-footage/"><em>Halo: Reach</em> multiplayer beta</a>, you've decided to stock up on a few Xbox 360 peripherals on the side. Amazon should be able to satisfy most of your needs on the cheap, thanks to the "<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&amp;location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Ffeature.html%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ref_%3Damb%5Flink%5F182749822%5F3%26docId%3D1000497761&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957">MS Gearfest Promo</a>" the online retailer is running until May 1.<br />
<br />
Thanks to the promotion, wireless controllers have been marked down to $27.99, HDMI AV cables are $19.99, and wireless microphones go for $29.99. We're not sure why you'd be picking up extra wireless microphones in anticipation of <em>Reach</em>, though. Perhaps you need extra blunt objects to bludgeon your exasperating, teabagging friends?<br />

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0029MAXS6/ref=nosim/mmbevigaotst-20">Amazon</a> has dropped the price of the Xbox 360 Arcade console to $159, as noticed by <a href="http://www.cheapcollegegamers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6913">CheapCollegeGamer</a>. The retailer doesn't mention an end-date for the promotion, but the listing notes that the price isn't shown without clicking to add it to the cart "because [Amazon's] price on this item is lower than the manufacturer's suggested retail price." It's rare for consoles to go on sale without it being an official price drop.<br />
<br />
We've followed up with Amazon and Microsoft to verify that the promotion is isolated to just Amazon and not indicative of a general price cut.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update</strong>: It's back to $199. Curiouser and curiouser.<br />

<div align="center"><em><font size="1">click to revenge-size</font></em></div>
Did you order the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/03/splinter-cell-conviction-collectors-edition-seeks-revenge-on-y/">collector's edition</a> of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/splinter-cell-conviction"><em>Splinter Cell: Conviction</em></a> yet? A Ubisoft representative informed us late tonight that the official price of the CE will be dropping $10, from $79.99 to $69.99. The reasoning behind the price drop is the possibility of faulty USB drives, included with the package. The publisher recently noticed that some of the USB drives didn't work, and is offering a compensatory price drop before the game's official release on April 13th.<br />
<br />
None of the other content included in the CE has been affected, such as the comic book, art book, and bonus DLC. However, the bonus content included on the USB drive may be inaccessible in some copies. The bonuses, which include art and a behind the scenes video, will be distributed in a new manner, to be announced on the Ubisoft site after the game's launch. The Ubisoft representative wanted to emphasize that the game is not affected in any way. Good thing, too -- we don't think we could handle yet another <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/splinter-cell-conviction,delay">delay</a>.<br />
<br />
Considering most retailers do not require full payment of pre-orders, the new price should go into effect when you pick up your copy. Make sure you contact your retailer before the game's launch if your final price doesn't reflect this $10 discount.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/09/splinter-cell-conviction-ce-drops-10-in-price-due-to-faulty-us/">Splinter Cell: Conviction CE drops $10 in price due to faulty USB drives</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 09 Apr 2010 23:00:00 EST. Looks like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/31/rumor-infamous-lbp-goty-and-others-joining-greatest-hits/">the Walmart ad</a> we posted yesterday actually undersold the number of PS3 games that Sony will soon add to the $30 Greatest Hits collection. <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/04/01/new-ps3-greatest-hits-titles-available-now/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+PSBlog+%28PlayStation.Blog%29">The following 10 titles</a> will be decked in red and reduced in price in the U.S. and Canada within the next few weeks:

Like all of the best misfortune though, EA's current cash situation <em>can</em> be capitalized on, with the offer of $20 off of many items in <a href="http://eastore.ea.com/store/ea/DisplayHomePage/ThemeID.718200?resid=S7N4@goBAiMAAGoJM6IAAAAl&amp;rests=1270053113652">the company's store</a>. You want <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/battlefield-bad-company-2">Battlefield: Bad Company 2</a></em> for $30? No problem. Want <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-saboteur">The Saboteur</a> </em>for $20? Done. Does taking advantage of this sale help or hurt EA's financial situation? <em>We don't know</em>.<br />
<br />
Just use the code "PAXEAST842" when you check out, keeping in mind that the offer's only good for one item, and only on those $40 and up. If you're the indecisive sort, you've got until the offer expires on April 9 to make up your mind.<br />

Right now, you can pre-order <a href="http://www.walmart.com/ip/Halo-Reach-w-Bonus-10-Walmart.com-eGift-Card-Xbox-360/14044123"><em>Halo</em></a> or <a href="http://www.walmart.com/ip/Super-Mario-Galaxy-w-Bonus-10-Walmart.com-eGift-Card-Wii/14044111"><em>Galaxy</em></a> and receive $20 in credit from the retailer. And, of course, since it's Walmart, the prices end in .96, saving you an additional three cents.<br />
<br />
We don't even know when <em>Halo: Reach</em> will be released beyond "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/21/greenberg-crackdown-2-coming-first-half-of-2010/">fall</a>," but we already have a pretty good idea of what the best deal for it will be. <em>Super Mario Galaxy 2</em> will be available <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/24/super-mario-galaxy-2-may-23-release-date/">May 23</a>.

Reader Glenn just noticed that <a href="http://kmart.shoplocal.com/kmart/Default.aspx?action=browsepagedetail&amp;storeid=2421374&amp;rapid=851774&amp;pagenumber=6&amp;listingid=-2087672635">Kmart's Sunday ad</a> has the just-about-released <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/just-cause-2"><em>Just Cause 2</em></a> listed for the low price of just $44.99. The offer is just available for the dates of March 23-27, so just as soon as the game releases, you can just run on over to the store and just walk away with the game after paying just $45. The police can't even stop you -- your actions will be just.<br />
<br />
Just saying -- it's just a really good deal. Even if you pick the game up just for kicks, a price like that is just wonderful. We're not sure why Kmart is selling the game so cheap, but why question it? Just consider this your just deserts.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/23/kmart-selling-just-cause-2-not-just-another-discount/">Kmart selling Just Cause 2, not just another discount</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 23 Mar 2010 03:00:00 EST. The Square Enix-owned publisher announced that its lineup of iPhone games appeared in Apple's "Rewind 2009" lists for 65 different regional App Stores, and that it's temporarily discounting <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/27/space-invaders-and-cooking-mama-come-to-iphone-ipod-touch-3g/"><em>Cooking Mama</em></a> and <a href="http://tap.taito.com/en/games/index.html#puzzle_bobble"><em>Bust-a-Move</em></a> to mark the occasion.<br />
<br />
<em>Cooking Mama</em> is $3.99 for the first 50,000 people who download it, or until January 4 (whichever comes first). <em>Bust-a-Move</em> is just $2.99 from now until January 4. Taito also alerted us to new in-app purchases for that game, consisting of a new two-player cooperative mode and four additional 50-stage packs.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/24/taito-iphone-games-on-sale-for-the-holidays/">Taito iPhone games on sale for the holidays</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 Dec 2009 19:45:00 EST. Sega and Nintendo have teamed up to offer players a few holiday VC deals, announcing on <a href="http://blogs.sega.com/europe/2009/12/22/happy-holidays-40-off-selected-sega-vc-titles/">Sega's UK blog</a> that select Virtual Console titles will be discounted for a limited time. From December 24, 2009, until January 6, 2010, select titles will be reduced to 500 Wii Points each from down from 800 Wii Points.<br />
<br />
Titles getting the 40% off treatment include such Genesis classics as <em>ToeJam &amp; Earl</em>, <em>Sonic the Hedgehog</em>, <em>Sonic 2</em>, <em>Sonic 3</em>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/second-batch-of-sega-vintage-collection-titles-confirmed/"><em>Gunstar Heroes</em></a>, <em>Puyo Puyo 2</em>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/26/vc-in-brief-golden-axe-arcade-and-zombies-ate-my-neighbors/"><em>Golden Axe</em></a>, <em>Shining Force</em> and <em>Streets of Rage</em>. Also, for the lump of coal types, Sega has discounted the "admit it, it stinks" brawler, <em>Altered Beast</em>. It's a great offer for new Wii owners, or those looking to relive their lost youth.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/22/sega-discounting-select-virtual-console-titles-for-the-holidays/">Sega discounting select Virtual Console titles for the holidays</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Dec 2009 19:15:00 EST. The streak of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/29/team-fortress-2-knocked-to-2-49-for-the-next-two-hours/">brief yet impossibly frugal discounts</a> continues! Until the end of the day, EA is selling <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-sims-3"><em>The Sims 3</em></a> for the price of $29.99 -- a full twenty bucks off the standard cost of the game. Maxis' life simulators tend to retain their launch price long after hitting store shelves, so if you want to <a href="http://eastore.ea.com/store/ea/en_US/DisplayProductDetailsPage/ThemeID.718200/productID.105153500?resid=@hWTsQoBAkcAAE99alYAAAAv&amp;rests=1257016566047">grab the title on the cheap</a>, today might be your only chance for quite some time. Fry's sales tend to vary by location, so it may be wise to call your <a href="http://www.frys.com/ac/storelocator/index.jsp">local store</a> before you begin your epic, miles-long trek through its near-endless expanses. We verified the sale price with the Austin, TX location, which is pretty far away from the Fremont, CA store whose ad appears here, so it would <em>seem</em> to be nationwide.<br />
<br />
That $50 discount almost puts the Go near the price point of the previous PSP models! <br />
<br />

<br />
While it's tempting to just write this off as the PSP Go bombing, we're guessing that the MSRP includes some room for retailer profit (unlike the standard price points for most consoles), and these stores are cutting the margins a bit in the interest of competitiveness. Of course, we don't <em>know</em> what the margin is for a Go, but we doubt all these companies would resort to a price drop so soon if they weren't still going to make a lot of money on the venture.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/05/uk-retailers-already-discounting-psp-go/">UK retailers already discounting PSP Go</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 05 Oct 2009 15:31:00 EST. Oh, man. This <em>ish</em> just got <em>real</em>, son. Last week, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/12/rumor-meijers-catalog-lists-100-price-cut-for-xbox-360-elite/">a supposedly leaked Meijer's catalog revealed</a> a $100 price cut for the Xbox 360 Elite SKU -- we weren't sure what to make of it, but a recent Walmart catalog (due to hit stores on August 30) <a href="http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z46/patrickb2269/xbox/284143133829.jpg">revealing the <em>same exact</em> discount</a> adds a hefty amount of credence to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/26/rumor-ars-technica-mole-foretells-ps3-and-360-price-drop-in-fal/">rumors that Microsoft is dropping the price</a> on the console's 120GB SKU. You can see the full ad posted after the jump, courtesy of one of our readers (thanks, Patrick). <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/21/look-out-slim-xbox-360-elite-showing-299-in-new-walmart-ad/">A few</a> <a href="http://kotaku.com/5343009/yup-360-elite-goes-299-on-august-30">sites</a> have gotten the ad, presumably from different sources, leading us to believe it's not just a high-quality fake.<br /><br />If it is legitimate -- and the rumors of an Elite price cut end up being true -- then the flames of console war are likely ready to flare up once again. For the first time this console generation, Sony and Microsoft would have two SKUs available at the same price. The resulting struggle for market dominance would be <em>brutal</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/22/rumor-wal-mart-catalog-lists-100-price-cut-for-xbox-360-elite/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rumor: Walmart catalog lists $100 price cut for Xbox 360 Elite</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/22/rumor-wal-mart-catalog-lists-100-price-cut-for-xbox-360-elite/">Rumor: Walmart catalog lists $100 price cut for Xbox 360 Elite</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 22 Aug 2009 11:00:00 EST. <a href="http://kotaku.com/5335673/elite-360-dropping-in-price-rip-pro-model">Kotaku recently got their hands on</a> a catalog from retail superstore Meijer's which is supposedly due to hit ... catalog stands(?) on August 30. The clipping of interest from this ad book is for a "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/price-cut">new lower price</a>" for the Xbox 360 Elite model -- it seems they're slicing $100 off the price of the system, bringing it down to the $299 price point shared by the Pro version.<br /><br />This fits in nicely with the grand design <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/26/rumor-ars-technica-mole-foretells-ps3-and-360-price-drop-in-fal/">foreseen by the Ars Technica mole</a> back in June, which claimed Microsoft would completely replace the Pro model with the Elite sometime in September. However, we called nearly a dozen Meijer's locations to try and confirm the cut -- only one Media Center employee had heard about it, and explained that it would be a "week-long sale," and not a permanent price drop.<br /><br />We're certain to find out more in the near future -- either on August 30, when the catalog (and Elite price) is supposed to drop, or perhaps next week during GamesCom, which some believe will provide a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/12/rumorang-ps3-slim-to-be-revealed-at-gamescom/">veritable cornucopia of startling announcements</a>.<br />

If you're in the market for a new PlayStation 3, the higher echelon model of the console is now a <em>tad</em> more affordable -- <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FRTP94?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B001FRTP94">Amazon is offering the 160GB <em>Uncharted</em> bundle</a> for just $449, a $50 discount from the package's usual price point. As one might discern from the bundle's moniker, it contains a copy of Naughty Dog's <em>brilliant</em> action title and tosses in a voucher code for <em>PAIN</em> for good measure.<br /><br />If you were thinking about picking up the basic 80GB model, it might be worth it to trade up. For $50 extra bucks, you can grab <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/uncharted-drakes-fortune">one of the best games on the system</a>, a fun little PSN title, and an amount of hard drive space that some might consider <em>gratuitous</em>. Then again, perhaps it's worth waiting for an even <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/04/rumor-80gb-ps3-to-be-discontinued-in-japan-parts-ordered-for-n/"><em>slimmer</em></a> deal.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/04/deal-ps3-160gb-uncharted-bundle-drops-to-450-on-amazon/">Deal: PS3 160GB Uncharted bundle drops to $450 on Amazon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 04 Aug 2009 11:40:00 EST. The benefits of Amazon.com's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/08/amazon-selling-xbox-live-arcade-game-codes/">new</a> Xbox Live Arcade Store continue to reveal themselves, as the two bestselling titles are <em>Doom</em> ($2.97) and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pac-man-championship-edition"><em>Pac-Man C.E.</em></a> ($4.97), both currently featured with discounted prices -- and both no-brainers for anyone who has previously passed on these two gems. Clearly, the Amazon option provides the possibility of more of these <em>sweet</em> discounts, in addition to perks like offering exact purchasing of games (instead of buying Microsoft Points in bulk), bonus money through participating credit cards, and potential sales tax dodging. But, a word to the wise: Check Amazon's prices against those listed on Xbox.com (80 Points = $1.00) before you buy, because some stated "discounts" are simply misleading. <br /><br />Currently, at #6 on Amazon's XBLA <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/videogames/979417011/ref=pd_ts_zbw_vg_979417011_more?&amp;pf_rd_p=473064171&amp;pf_rd_s=right-4&amp;pf_rd_t=101&amp;pf_rd_i=979417011&amp;pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;pf_rd_r=1X0HR760VHJGKA1MTFDW">bestseller list</a> is the original <em>Geometry Wars,</em> which claims to be priced at a 50 percent discount -- <em>wrong!</em> Five dollars is the <em>actual</em> price of the game on <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802584107ed/?of=7">Xbox Marketplace</a>, and the presumed "broader" demographic now shopping for XBLA games on Amazon should be careful, as one would be better served to double down and purchase the superior sequel (#16 on the list) for ten. Alas, we're preaching to the choir here -- you, dear reader, already know this. (Whaddya gonna do, ya know?) Just take note of the <em>real</em> discounts, as they're good ones, and forget about those "others" being misled by the <em>fake</em> ones. <br /><br />[Thanks, Chad]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/14/discounted-doom-pac-man-ce-top-amazon-xbla-store/">Discounted Doom, Pac-Man CE top Amazon XBLA Store</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 14 Apr 2009 11:29:00 EST. Steam's week-long celebration of French gaming industry juggernaut Ubisoft (which kicked off with a <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/19900/">50 percent discount for <em>Far Cry 2</em></a>) is coming to a close, but not before the digital distribution leader performs a <em>coup de gr&acirc;ce</em> on wallet-wary consumers -- this weekend, <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/2385/">the service is offering the Ubisoft Classic Pack</a>, which includes <em>Far Cry</em>, <em>IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946</em>, <em>Dark Messiah of Might and Magic</em> and <em>Beyond Good &amp; Evil</em>, for just $10.<br /><br />We highly suggest checking it out -- the four-pack seems to cater to all sorts of gaming interests, whether they be horrendously gaudy hawaiian shirts, World War II-era dogfighting, demonic fantasy combat or <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyond_Good_&amp;_Evil_(video_game)">titles that got <em>royally shafted</em></a> by the game consuming populous during their initial release.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/28/steam-offering-ubisoft-quadruple-pack-for-10/">Steam offering Ubisoft quadruple-pack for $10</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 28 Mar 2009 16:15:00 EST.
