Pay what you want for Divinity games on GOG

For a company built on old games, GOG is certainly keeping tabs on the current trends. Not only is it selling new indies (and Witcher games), now the retailer has announced its first pay-what-you-want bundle.

The bundle, available until October 18, provides Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, and Divinity 2 Developer's Cut for as much as you feel like paying. Provided it's at least $21 - early access to the Developer's Cut comes only at that level, and Beyond Divinity is similarly withheld for below-average payments.

"This year Larian celebrates the 10th anniversary of our Divinity RPG series, and we're happy to partner up with GOG.com in order to put the whole collection at the mercy of our community," Larian CEO Swen Vincke said. "We've always been thankful for the unceasing support that our players have provided over the years and we'll gladly welcome any and all newcomers!"

If you already love Divinity games and feel like paying a set price, Larian has also announced a Divinity Anthology box, with the same games and lots of extras.

Atlus reveals pre-order goodies, new trailer for Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga [update]

Atlus has added a 52-page art book pre-order bonus to its considerably hefty version of Divinity 2, dubbed The Dragon Knight Saga, in addition to the soundtrack CD that comes with all first run copies of this re-release. The pre-order promotion is listed on GameStop and Amazon, though Atlus tells Joystiq that the offer should be available at most major retailers. You can check out a sample of the art book's content right here.

A new trailer -- for this 2009 game and its bundled expansion -- has also been released, which we've posted after the break. The clip showcases both knights and dragons. Go figure.

A few weeks shy of its April launch, an Xbox Live demo for Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga is now available. "But is it relevant to my interests," you ask? Put simply, players assume the role of a knight who can transform, at will, into a dragon. That's probably enough info to help you decide.

Atlus picks up Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga for Xbox 360

Divine Divinity sequel Divinity II: Ego Draconis was released on Xbox 360 in late 2009 by CDV, but now it's getting a second release from a new publisher. Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga collects an "extensively remastered" version of Ego Draconis, the expansion, Flames of Vengeance, and all DLC to date in one bundle that new publisher Atlus estimates at 100 hours of content.

Now that it's an Atlus game, Divinity fans will be able to get some "Spoils." Each copy of the game printed for the April 12 launch will include a soundtrack CD. If you're not a fan of the open-world action RPG series, perhaps it would interest you to know that the "Dragon Knight" in the title, who is the player character, is not a knight who fights dragons, but rather a knight who is also a dragon.

Actually, he fights dragons too.
