You can grab Remedy's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/alan-wake"><em>Alan Wake</em></a> for $3 on Steam this weekend, and if you toss in an extra buck you'll also get <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/alan-wakes-american-nightmare">Alan Wake's American Nightmare</a>. </em><br />
<br />
Weekend savings are also being extended to <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry">DmC: Devil May Cry</a>,</em><em> </em>available for $30. All will revert to regular price at 10am PT on Monday morning.<br />

<em>DmC</em> developer Ninja Theory is currently collaborating with Chillingo on a side-scrawling brawler called <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/24/ninja-theory-teams-up-with-chillingo-on-ios-android-f2p-brawler/">Fightback</a>. </em>Remedy has said Alan Wake will return "when the time is right," but is now focused on a story-driven Xbox One action game, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/quantum-break"><em>Quantum Break</em></a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/30/steam-weekend-deals-alan-wake-for-3-dmc-for-30/">Steam weekend deals: Alan Wake for $3, DmC for $30</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 30 May 2013 20:00:00 EST. If you can spare the gigglebits on your Xbox 360, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/metal-gear-rising-revengeance"><em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry"><em>DMC: Devil May Cry</em></a> are both available through Games on Demand on Xbox Live for $50 right now. Each will consume 7.34 GB and 6.57 GB, respectively.<br />
<br />
<em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</em> is the slice-em-up starring series cyborg Raiden that Platinum Games <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/13/hideo-kojima-gets-his-revengeance-with-metal-gear-rising/">took over full-time</a> from Kojima Productions in 2011. <em>DMC: Devil May Cry</em> is Ninja Theory's reboot issued earlier this year, which re-imagines Capcom's world replete with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/27/meet-the-man-behind-dmcs-dante/">a new Dante</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/29/metal-gear-rising-dmc-plunge-into-games-on-demand/">Metal Gear Rising, DMC plunge into Games on Demand</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 29 May 2013 15:00:00 EST. This was a new Dante, a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry">new Devil May Cry</a>, and the series told through a westernized lens.<br /><br />"Imagine Dante in a western movie," Capcom told Ninja Theory's art team. And so it did. There's Dante above, shooped into a scene from <em>Brokeback Mountain</em> - a very <em>western</em> movie, after all - and below Dante takes a breather with Brad Pitt in <em>Fight Club</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/28/seen-gdc-imagine-dante-in-a-western-movie/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Seen@GDC: 'Imagine Dante in a Western movie'</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/28/seen-gdc-imagine-dante-in-a-western-movie/">Seen@GDC: 'Imagine Dante in a Western movie'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Mar 2013 21:30:00 EST. It resembles the main game and pulls directly from Dante's move list, copying his style and button mapping, but there's something inherently lackluster about the gameplay. Handling Vergil simply can't compare to the thrill of controlling Dante, and Vergil's pared-down weapons pale in comparison (as does his hair).<br /><br />I'm not saying the addition of a fedora would have helped Vergil's Downfall, but it definitely couldn't have hurt.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-vergils-downfall-2-20-13/">DmC: Devil May Cry - Vergil's Downfall (2/20/13)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-vergils-downfall-2-20-13/#5653261"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/vergil11bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-vergils-downfall-2-20-13/#5653262"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/vergil12bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-vergils-downfall-2-20-13/#5653263"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/vergil13bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-vergils-downfall-2-20-13/#5653264"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/vergil20bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-vergils-downfall-2-20-13/#5653265"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/vergil22bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/12/vergils-downfall-dlc-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Vergil's Downfall DLC review: Downfall is right</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/12/vergils-downfall-dlc-review/">Vergil's Downfall DLC review: Downfall is right</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 12 Mar 2013 16:30:00 EST. Capcom attributed the success to launches of major games, the growing popularity of its social games in Japan, and its newly introduced <em>Resident Evil 5</em> slot machine. Sales were up 44 percent during the same period from last year.<br /><br />While both <em>Resident Evil 6</em> and <em>DmC: Devil May Cry</em> saw <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/04/dmc-devil-may-cry-shipped-1-million-in-january-forecasts-slash/">significant reductions</a> to their end-of-fiscal-year projections, Capcom is pleased by the performances of <em>Dragon's Dogma</em>, which exceeded expectations to become a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/25/capcom-ships-over-a-million-copies-of-dragons-dogma/">million-seller last year</a>, and <em>Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate</em>, which racked up over <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/27/the-top-30-games-of-2012-in-japan/">600,000 sales</a> during its first month in Japan.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/04/capcom-sales-income-up-in-2012/">Capcom sales, income up in 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 04 Feb 2013 08:45:00 EST. The company adjusted its sales forecasts for the game to 1.2 million by March 31, down from the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/11/capcom-projections-resident-evil-6-sells-7-million-dmc-does-2/">2 million projected</a> back in May 2012.<br /><br />The figures don't take into account the PC version, released on January 25. Nonetheless, they strongly indicate Ninja Theory's reboot is flagging way behind the last entry in the series, <em>Devil May Cry 4</em>, which <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/20/devil-may-cry-4-sheds-2-million-tears/">shipped 2 million units</a> in its first two weeks at retail.<br /><br />Capcom also updated sales figures for <em>Resident Evil 6 </em>to 4.8 million; the series' latest outbreak had shipped <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/04/resident-evil-6-ships-over-4-5-million-copies-worldwide/">4.5 million</a> by the end of September. and was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/11/capcom-projections-resident-evil-6-sells-7-million-dmc-does-2/">initially projected</a> to reach 7 million sales by March 31. <em>Dragon's Dogma</em> is up to 1.25 million, while <em>Resident Evil: Raccoon City</em> is at a meagre 650,000, including PC sales. Maybe that's why <em>Revelations</em> producer Masachika Kawata feels there've been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/03/a-few-too-many-resident-evil-games-in-past-two-years-producer/">too many RE games of late</a>.<br /><br />Capcom didn't release figures for <em>Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate</em>, released on Wii U in Japan on December 8, 2012, but said the game "became a smash hit." In case you suspect that's just deflective hot air, the action-RPG sold <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/27/the-top-30-games-of-2012-in-japan/">over 600,000 copies by the end of 2012</a>, with the Western launch <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/17/monster-hunter-3-ultimate-lands-march-19-with-usb-keyboard-suppo/">still to come in March</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/04/dmc-devil-may-cry-shipped-1-million-in-january-forecasts-slash/">DmC: Devil May Cry shipped 1 million in January, forecasts slashed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 04 Feb 2013 07:15:00 EST. It ain't done yet, nosiree.<br /><br />Despite it being a relatively quiet January - <em>Ni No Kuni</em> doesn't arrive in Europe until February 1 - <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry"><em>DmC: Devil May Cry </em></a>wasn't able to retain top spot this week. Ninja Theory's reboot fell from grace to No. 4 after a 64 percent drop in sales. Meanwhile, <em>Assassin's Creed 3</em> went on a climb up to No. 5, ascending on the back of promotional discounts.<br /><br />Otherwise it's the same ten games doing the limbo, lazily relaxing backs and limply looking over shoulders as they wait for the big hitters of February and March to take to the dance floor. You can boogie on past the break for the UK top ten.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/28/black-ops-2-retakes-top-as-devil-may-cry-tumbles-in-uk-charts/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Black Ops 2 retakes top spot as Devil May Cry tumbles in UK charts</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/28/black-ops-2-retakes-top-as-devil-may-cry-tumbles-in-uk-charts/">Black Ops 2 retakes top spot as Devil May Cry tumbles in UK charts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Jan 2013 08:00:00 EST. Capcom has announced the alternate <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry">DmC: Devil May Cry</a></em> costumes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/18/dmc-costume-dlc-gussies-up-japan-jan-30/">outed by Japan last week</a> are indeed coming to North America and Europe on January 29 and January 30, respectively.<br /><br />All three costumes will set you back 320 MS Points ($3) on Xbox 360 and PS3 next week, one of which is the classic <em>Devil May Cry 3</em> look seen above. The other two feature a blond Dante in a blue jacket, and what we can only imagine is Dante's favorite <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6203oIRC0I">Goth underpass rave</a> ensemble.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-costume-pack-dlc/">DmC: Devil May Cry (Costume Pack DLC)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-costume-pack-dlc/#5589203"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/01/dmc-dlc-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-costume-pack-dlc/#5589204"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/01/dmc-dlc-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-costume-pack-dlc/#5589205"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/01/dmc-dlc-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/22/dmc-costume-dlc-dolls-up-dante-in-north-america-january-29/">DmC costume DLC dolls up Dante in North America on Jan. 29</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jan 2013 17:30:00 EST. The reboot, developed by Ninja Theory (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/heavenly-sword"><em>Heavenly Sword</em></a>), sold just over a third of what <em>Devil May Cry 4</em> had when it comboed the number one spot in 2008.<br /><br />The rest of the chart is full of the regular suspects, with <em>FIFA 13</em> and <em>Call of Duty: Black Ops 2</em> sliding down to second and third, respectively, to make room for the Capcom brawler. <em>DmC</em> was the only new release to chart in the top 40 last week. Stylishly swing past the break for the UK top ten.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/21/dmc-devil-may-cry-premiere-tears-up-uk-charts/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>'DmC: Devil May Cry' premiere tears up UK charts</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/21/dmc-devil-may-cry-premiere-tears-up-uk-charts/">'DmC: Devil May Cry' premiere tears up UK charts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Jan 2013 09:30:00 EST. Capcom has revealed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry"><em>DmC</em></a>'s first batch of costume DLC over on its <a href="http://www.capcom.co.jp/dmc/info/dlc/costume.html">official Japanese website</a>, with Dante's <em>DMC3</em> coat and hair arrangement featured front and center.<br /><br />The costume pack, which hits Japanese PS3s and Xboxen on January 30 for &yen;400/320 MS Points respectively, also includes a fancy blue coat and an outfit not tremendously unlike the one worn by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoolander#Derelicte">Derelicte</a> fashionista Derek Zoolander.<br /><br />When asked when the pack would be available in North America, a Capcom representative had no more information to offer. Until then, we recommend dressing <em>yourself</em> up in whichever outfit from Dante's past you most prefer.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/18/dmc-costume-dlc-gussies-up-japan-jan-30/">DmC costume DLC gussies up Japan on Jan. 30</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Jan 2013 17:00:00 EST. As a character action game, it hits all the notes - fast, robust action, marvelous visual style, and a tremendous sense of attitude - you could want in this type of game."</li> <li> <a href="http://www.gameinformer.com/games/devil_may_cry/b/xbox360/archive/2013/01/14/this-party-s-getting-crazy-again.aspx">Game Informer</a> <strong>(90/100</strong>): "I'm impressed by the sheer variety of Dante's moveset. Three guns, two angelic weapons, two demonic weapons, and one sword have unique abilities that you purchase. Because some moves are more useful than others (I still love the Stinger/Trillion Stabs combo), you can refund any spent points at no cost, encouraging you to experiment with the possibilities."</li> <li> <a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/14/dmc-devil-may-cry-review-360">IGN</a> <strong>(89/100</strong>): "Long-time <em>Devil May Cry</em> fans unsure of Ninja Theory's treatment can abandon their fears. <em>DmC</em> hurls Dante into a newer, better world, complete with a glorious combat system and enough style to make old Dante proud. This is digital action at its finest, steeped in the blood of angels, spiced with gunpowder, and garnished with a middle finger."</li> <li> <a href="http://www.edge-online.com/review/dmc-devil-may-cry-review/">Edge</a> <strong>(80/100)</strong>: "<em>DmC</em> has a greater emphasis on story than the games that preceded it, then, which is just what you'd expect from the maker of the narrative-heavy <em>Enslaved</em> and <em>Heavenly Sword</em>. But its focus is absolutely where it should be: at the tip of Dante's sword. Playing true to its forebears' considerable strengths, <em>DmC</em> is still a game about crowd management and of making best use of its myriad systems to keep a combo going and maximise your style rating."</li> <li> <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/dmc-devil-may-cry/reviews/dmc-devil-may-cry-review-6402276/">GameSpot</a> <strong>(80/100</strong>): "<em>DmC</em> succeeds both in its story and in its brilliant combat, and it looks the business too, despite a few minor glitches and the more color-soaked levels looking like they've spent a little too much time in an Instagram filter. Sure, you may baulk at Dante's trendy new haircut, or maybe even miss a little of that B-movie <em>Devil May Cry</em> insanity, but the heart of what makes the series so enticing and so much fun to play holds true here."</li></ul><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/15/metareview-dmc-devil-may-cry/">Metareview: DMC: Devil May Cry</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 Jan 2013 19:30:00 EST. The two descriptors can look disturbingly similar: Some people use hair dye, awkward yet fashionable clothing and violent curse words as a mask for their insecurities, while for others these are outward expressions of the very personality quirks that the first group attempts to hide.<br /><br />At first glance, it's difficult to tell which category <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry"><em>DMC: Devil May Cry</em></a> belongs to. In the marketing leading up to <em>DMC</em>'s launch, publisher Capcom released videos of a naked Dante sailing through the air, manly bits covered by slices of pizza, and infused its material with metal songs and f-bombs. It had reason to put forth such a ridiculous effort following backlash from the game's radical style shift: Dante's hair black rather than white-blonde, his body decked out with new clothes and his personality given a modern twist.<br /><br />With such a rabid fanbase, the only thing that could redeem <em>DMC</em> from reactionary internet infamy was to turn that unique, new styling into an homage to a beloved series. To be confident in its skin and own all of its style choices unapologetically, while still retaining the crux of the series, the combat.<br /><br /><em>DMC</em> does this in spades - er, scythes.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-11-1-12/">DmC: Devil May Cry (11/1/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-11-1-12/#5405884"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/11/dmc-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-11-1-12/#5405885"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/11/dmc-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-11-1-12/#5405886"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/11/dmc-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-11-1-12/#5405887"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/11/dmc-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dmc-devil-may-cry-11-1-12/#5405889"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/11/dmc-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/15/dmc-devil-may-cry-review-loves-keen-sting/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>DMC: Devil May Cry review: Love's keen sting</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/15/dmc-devil-may-cry-review-loves-keen-sting/">DMC: Devil May Cry review: Love's keen sting</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 Jan 2013 14:00:00 EST. We could never pull off Dante's flashy pendant seen above. It's free to anyone who purchases a copy of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry"><em>DmC: Devil May Cry</em></a> through the Capcom store.<br /><br />Of course, you don't <em>have</em> to wear the pendant. You could just hang it somewhere, or lay it on a table near you while you silently prepare a sandwich during a <em>Devil May Cry 4</em> installation. Yeah, that's right, we're bringing that gag back.<br /><br /><em>DmC: Devil May Cry</em> launches on January 15, 2013 for the PS3 and Xbox 360; and on January 25 for the PC.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/19/dantes-bling-free-when-you-buy-devil-may-cry-from-capcom/">Dante's bling free when you buy Devil May Cry from Capcom</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Dec 2012 02:00:00 EST. The port, which Capcom outsourced to Polish team QLOC, will be available via Steam, with the publisher specifying availability at retail in Europe.<br /><br />Capcom also released minimum and recommended system requirements. The game uses DirectX 9.0, meaning it can run on Windows XP. Apart from 2GB of RAM, players will need at the least AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHz or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz horsepower, while ATI Radeon HD 3850 or Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS cards are the minimum graphics-wise.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/13/devil-may-cry-makes-jump-to-pc-january-25-2013/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Devil May Cry makes jump to PC January 25, 2013</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/13/devil-may-cry-makes-jump-to-pc-january-25-2013/">Devil May Cry makes jump to PC January 25, 2013</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Dec 2012 11:45:00 EST. North American pre-orders through GameStop or EB Games get a code to download the content, along with the Samurai Weapons Pack, at no charge.<br /><br />Vergil's Downfall tells "the untold story of Dante's twin brother," and considering it's labeled "downfall," we wouldn't bet that it's a particularly happy tale. The above trailer shows Vergil fighting with his classic Yamato sword, and the DLC promises new weapons, locations, enemies, combos and a separate storyline.<br /><br />Vergil is also playable in<em> Devil May Cry 3</em>. Earlier this year <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/16/vergils-leading-role-in-dmc-devil-may-cry/">we asked producer Motohide Eshiro</a> if Vergil would make a similar appearance in <em>DmC</em>, but at the time we were told only "there's more to come; watch this space."<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/12/vergil-is-playable-in-dmc-dlc-vergils-downfall-out-early-201/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Vergil is playable in DmC DLC 'Vergil's Downfall,' out early 2013</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/12/vergil-is-playable-in-dmc-dlc-vergils-downfall-out-early-201/">Vergil is playable in DmC DLC 'Vergil's Downfall,' out early 2013</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 12 Nov 2012 12:30:00 EST. The above gameplay footage, dubbed "Home Truths," harkens back to the series' classic, gothic feel, and contains minor story spoilers regarding Dante's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/14/dmc-demo-incoming-mundus-returns-as-the-demon-king/">ancestral background</a>.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/gregaman/blog/2012/11/10/dante-explores-ruins-of-his-past-in-this-gameplay-vid">Capcom</a> says the Home Truths video "has been floating around the interwaves for a bit now," and it provides some insight into <em>DmC</em>'s holistic value. Specifically, Capcom notes that it "bears a stark contrast to the other areas we've seen in gameplay footage so far" and it's "a bit more exploratory than some of the more action-focused locales we've been showing off."<br /><br />Skip the story spoilers and cut straight to the action at 1:30, but make sure to tear your eyes away by 2:53. Feel free to resume at 3:30.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/11/capcom-makes-dmc-home-truths-gameplay-vid-official/">Capcom makes DmC 'Home Truths' gameplay vid official</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 11 Nov 2012 18:00:00 EST. "But at 30 FPS there's a technique where you take advantage of the brain's ability to fill in the blanks. So even though you have it running at 30 FPS, you create the motions and the poses in such a way that the brain will naturally fill in what would have been the extra frames."<br /><br />Of course 60 FPS "would be better," Itsuno says, but <em>DmC</em>'s button-response design and visual style make 30 FPS just as good. <em>DmC </em>features living, moving environments that would have been forced static if Capcom and Ninja Theory pushed for 60 FPS on consoles, Ninja Theory technical art director Stuart Adcock adds. Remember, the PC version of <em>DmC </em>does run at 60 FPS.<br /><br />Previous games in the series, such as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/devil-may-cry-4"><em>Devil May Cry 4</em></a>, run at 60 FPS on consoles. <em>Devil May Cry 4 </em>was built with Capcom's MT Framework engine, while <em>DmC </em>uses Epic's Unreal Engine 3. This engine swap contributes to the 30 FPS cap, Adcock says: "We were limited a little bit by the engine capabilities."<br /><br />"We did a lot of work trying to simulate the effects of fluid motion even at 30. We simulated more motion blur and made sure the animations had solid in-betweens and nothing that might feel too jerky," Adcock says.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/05/why-dmc-runs-30-fps-on-consoles-according-to-capcom/">Why DmC runs 30 FPS on consoles, according to Capcom</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 05 Nov 2012 14:00:00 EST. The "Dante Must Die" mode starts with that, and adds "the strongest enemies and insane attack waves."<br /><br />"Heaven or Hell" mixes it up further by enabling one-hit kills on everyone in the game, including Dante. The music remains familiar, very much the Joystiq-turn-that-racket-down-right-now-or-so-help-me-Lord brand of heavy metal.<br /><br />Capcom <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/14/dmc-demo-incoming-mundus-returns-as-the-demon-king/">also revealed</a> at NYCC that it's bringing a DmC demo out before the game launches. The demo is definitely coming to consoles, but there's no word yet on it coming to PC. The game launches on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on January 15 2013.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/15/devil-may-crys-new-trailer-shows-some-things-dont-change/">Devil May Cry's new trailer shows some things don't change</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 15 Oct 2012 13:30:00 EST. Capcom has no firm date for the demo yet, but it is coming to consoles at least, producer Alex Jones tells a panel at New York Comic Con. There is no word on a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/20/devil-may-cry-pc-being-outsourced-coming-after-consoles/">PC demo</a>.<br /><br />Mundus, the main baddie from the first <em>Devil May Cry</em>, returns as ruler of the underworld in <em>DmC. </em>The Demon King joins another past character, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/16/vergils-leading-role-in-dmc-devil-may-cry/">Vergil</a>: We previously asked if Vergil would be a playable character as he was in <em>Devil May Cry 3</em>, and got stonewalled. Jones provides a little more insight, saying Vergil as a playable character "will not be on the disc" and Capcom has no firm plans either way.<br /><br />Players will learn more about Dante's (and, by proxy, Vergil's) parents in <em>DmC</em>, Ninja Theory's Dominic Matthews tells the panel. <em>DmC </em>will have "a few novelty modes" made available after beating the game, Jones says. The PC version of <em>DmC </em>will run 60 FPS with enhancements, and Xbox 360 and PS3 is 30 FPS.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/14/dmc-demo-incoming-mundus-returns-as-the-demon-king/">DmC demo incoming, Mundus returns as the Demon King</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 14 Oct 2012 13:30:00 EST.
