PSP will be the sole home of the next Dragonball game. While every game in the series so far has been based on the anime and manga, Dragonball: Evolution will be based on the upcoming live action movie from 20th Century Fox. The game will be available in April, just in time for the movie's theatrical release.

The character models are based on the live action actors, as opposed to the anime characters so familiar to DBZ fans. We're not sure how well this game will fare, considering it looks just as bad, if not worse, than the movie.

Namco Bandai officially announces Dragonball: Evolution originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 19 Jan 2009 14:45:00 EST. PS3 software topped the charts in Japan this week, thanks to the release of Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit. It's amazing to see that, years after the end of the series, the dedication to this popular manga/anime goes strong. Although this brawler is multiplatform, you wouldn't be able to tell from this week's top 10 software charts. It'll be interesting to see what they look like next week, when Metal Gear Solid 4 reigns terror upon the charts.
They released new images, no not of Phil Harrison high ontop of his throne, but of the upcoming next-gen debut of Dragonball Z. Dragonball Z: Burst Limit pits the characters of the popular anime series against each other in an epic quest for dragonballs or limits ... that burst.

To be honest, we're don't know. Dudes fight in mid-air and it looks crazy. If you happen to be a fan of the series check out the images and let us know what you think about the look of the game compared to others in the series. Also, anyone who can give us the deets on what a dragonball is exactly* unlocks 10 X3F Army achievement points ... which are completely made up.

*You know we're kidding, right?

Dragonball Z: Burst Limit screenshot explosion originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 19 Mar 2008 11:30:00 EST.
There are those who love Dragonball Z games and those who despise them. It's generally the same group of people who enjoy or don't enjoy the anime. When you watch this video, though, you might get the feeling there's a pretty cool fighting game beneath the surface -- they've been steadily improving in quality over the years. Goku faces off against Krillin in this gameplay footage and for those who follow the show, the outcome of the battle should be obvious. We'll keep tabs on this game until it hits shelves later this year.

Dragonball Z Burst Limit gameplay: features grunting men originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 18 Feb 2008 05:00:00 EST.
