Resident Evil games assembled in 15th Anniversary Box

Without looking, we'd like for you to tell us where all of your various and sundry Resident Evil games are located right now. Your copy of Resident Evil 4 is out of its box, lying face-up on the entertainment center? Code Veronica is in a box in the attic? Resident Evil 2 is in the oven? You clearly need a better way of keeping tabs on them -- like, for instance, having nearly all of the franchise's main entries enclosed in Capcom's recently announced 15th Anniversary Box.

The bundle, which will be available in Japan through e-Capcom this September, contains the three PSOne Resident Evils, Revival Selection (the HD remastering of RE4 and Code Veronica) and soundtracks for the two games in the Revival Selection.

Resident Evil 5 is not included in the package, but the Box does include a spacer in which to keep your copy. Voila! No more scratched, misplaced or broiled discs.

After five long years of careful manicuring, your hair is finally, perfectly coifed -- just like Resident Evil 4's Leon S. Kennedy. You've got that devil-may-care attitude down, ammo clips holstered around each thigh, and you're all about saving the president's daughter. The only thing left? Fingerless gloves. Oh, and also Leon's not-so-cheap, replica bomber jacket, now available to pre-order directly from Capcom's Japan-only online store -- though you'll have to go through a proxy service if you live outside Japan. (Game Swag has listed some of them.)

The e-Capcom store has dated the first shipments of the jacket for "early January," so you may want to start saving up the ¥26,040 (about $315, plus the proxy fee), um, like, probably a few months ago. Or maybe just scour your neighborhood for treasure chests? That's what Leon would do.

Okamiden mug makes hot beverages cuter

Were the Okamiden teacups not puppy-shaped enough for you? Capcom's latest Japan-only merchandise offering is this mug, with Chibiterasu's face, tail, and wings (is that what those are?) on it. The mug will be out in February for ¥1,890 ($23) -- plenty of time for you to start that coffee habit.

This mug is the latest in Capcom's user-suggested merchandise campaign. Previously announced releases include towels, a book cover, the Chibiterasu plush, and these slippers that we're just now seeing, which need to be on our feet right this very second.

Ace Attorney Investigations 2 out February in Japan, includes Edgeworth figure

We now have two reasons for wanting to play Ace Attorney Investigations 2 in Japanese, despite knowing full well how difficult and unfulfilling it is. Were we to pick it up from Japan, we'd be able to play it starting February 3. It hasn't been confirmed for release outside of Japan.

Capcom announced that release date today, along with a collectors edition, and two special edition packages exclusive to Capcom's Japanese online store (which is currently down) -- the other tempting reason to buy a Japanese version. The Collectors Package includes an orchestral soundtrack, a DVD featuring trailers and TGS stage show footage, and a manga booklet, all priced at ¥6,090 ($75.42).

The e-Capcom exclusive Limited Edition includes all the aforementioned items, plus a 1/10 scale figurine of Miles Edgeworth, for ¥8,000 ($99.07). If you want the game and figure, but not the limited edition stuff, e-Capcom has that for ¥7,140 ($88.42). Spending a hundred bucks on a game we can't read just to get a figurine is a pretty terrible tribute to Edgeworth -- it would just be so illogical.

Chibiterasu plush will paint a smile on your face

No matter how you feel about the prospect of a DS Okami sequel made without the participation of Clover Studio staff, there's one thing that absolutely everyone is agreed upon: Okamiden's protagonist, Chibiterasu, looks extremely huggable. And now Capcom has made a Chibiterasu that can actually be hugged: a 45 cm (17.7 inch) plush version.

Here's the bad news (yes, there is somehow bad news related to something so wonderful): the doll is only available through Capcom's Japanese online store, and is expected to ship October 31. If you happen to have a friend in Japan, they can order it for you for 5,040 yen ($58).

Monster Hunter pillow will give you nightmares

Capcom's Monster Hunter Furu Furu Pillow is officially the most terrifying pillow we've seen today. What appears in the games as a winged, eyeless wyvern (called Khezu outside of Japan) has been transmuted into a tube with a lamprey mouth. That you put on your bed. And look at when you wake up. We suppose it would be better used as an accent pillow on a couch or something, especially if you don't want anyone to use your couch ever.

Japanese Monster Hunter fans will be able to bring this abomination into their lives, in white or red, on January 29, for ¥9,240 ($103.52).

Capcom rewards patient Okami buyers with Amaterasu phone strap

Someone in Japan has been waiting years for the Wii release of Okami, having let the PS2 release pass in 2006, and then watching the Wii port release everywhere but Japan in 2008. That hypothetical person's patience will be rewarded on October 15, when e-Capcom orders of the Japanese Wii version of Okami will ship with this Amaterasu phone (or DS) strap.

It's totally worth the wait. It beats the "bonus" IGN watermark we got in North America, though the replacement art was certainly nice. In addition to the little porcelain Amaterasu, a limited number of Okami soundtrack discs will be handed out with the game.
