Though we may see a glimpse before the show, Respawn's co-founder Vince Zampella has tweeted that, "Yes, we will finally be at E3," presumably not just to enjoy the sometimes smelly confines of the Los Angeles Convention Center again.

So far, all we've seen of Respawn's secret title is a company logo and the blurry screenshot above, but if Respawn is headed to LA in June for the show, they'll likely be bringing some game info along. As Zampella added, "I have no intention of showing up empty handed!"

You'll have to wait eight days or so to see the episode on Hulu if you missed it -- longer still if you're outside of the US -- but GameSetWatch has done us the favor of collecting some of the on-the-nose visual gags from the scene. In addition to the three screencaps presented in the post, GSW reports that parody games including Grand Theft Scratchy: Itchy City Stories, Shaun White: Time Snowboarder, and World of Krustcraft made appearances.

Perhaps the best thing about this sequence is that it suggests a Simpsons writer was present at E3 for the sole purpose of taking notes on the spectacle.

The questions attempt to gauge interest in having "a conference program covering multiple industry topics, including panel discussions with industry leaders, at future E3 Expo events."

Further questions narrow down potential topics, including "Interactive Entertainment Business trends," Game Development," "Game Career Development," and "New Product Demonstrations." Of course, querying attendees about this is by no means a confirmation that E3 will include panel discussions in the future, but it is an indication that the organizers are thinking about it. Adding what amounts to GDC-style content to the generally marketing-focused E3 would be a significant change in focus for the expo -- an event that just can't stop changing.

With E3 trying to reclaim its former glory by once again taking over the entirety of the LA Convention center, there's going to be a lot to see and do this year. There's also going to be a lot of walking to do, because 90% of the space for June's show has already been claimed, so says the ESA. The organization's goal of 40,000 qualified attendees is also on track and it has confirmed that over 100 exhibitors are already on board, besting the 86 we knew about back in February.

E3 2009 will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center June 2 though June 4.

E3 2009 will take place June 2-4 next year, at the LA Convention Center. It won't be open to the public or anything, but the list of people who can attend will be less restrictive than the previous two years, says the ESA. They'll be opening the doors to all "international and US-based media, analysts, retailers, developers and business partners." So, attendance will increase and this move should hopefully help E3 get back to what it used to be: loud, smelly, and oh-so-fun!
