Are you enjoying your nightly Wild West adventures through the expansive world of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/red-dead-redemption"><em>Red Dead Redemption</em></a>, but wish the game was set in a more contemporary, urban environment? Here's a fun little fact you might not know: Before making <em>Red Dead</em>, Rockstar worked on a series called "<em>Grand Theft Auto</em>," which fits that very niche. <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Grand-Theft-Auto-Episodes-Playstation-3/dp/B0036FDHT2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=videogames&amp;qid=1274882253&amp;sr=8-1">Amazon recently reduced</a> the price on the most recent <em>GTA</em> release by one Hamilton: <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0037LUUFY?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B0037LUUFY"><em>Episodes from Liberty City</em></a>, now available through the online retailer for $29.99 on consoles and $19.99 on PC.<br />

Just don't be alarmed when your precious horsies are replaced by unfeeling metal automobiles, or when your beautiful, intricately crafted six-shooters are replaced by primitive-looking rocket-propelled grenades. That, dear friends, is the steep price of modernity.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/26/episodes-from-liberty-city-10-off-at-amazon/">Episodes from Liberty City $10 off at Amazon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 26 May 2010 11:40:00 EST. If you've been waiting for an excuse to sink your felonious teeth into the <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/grand-theft-auto-iv"><em>Grand Theft Auto IV</em></a> expansion <em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em>, listen up. This week's Xbox Live Deal of the Week, you see, knocks the usual 1600<img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /> ($20) price of <em>Gay Tony</em> down to a more palatable 1200<img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /> ($15). Not bad for a night of virtual <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/2009/11/23/go-clubbing-with-new-gtaiv-gay-tony-tees/">clubbing</a> in Liberty City. That said, if you haven't picked up <em>The Lost and Damned </em> (the other <em>GTA IV</em> expansion) either, you can grab the full <em>Episodes from Liberty City</em> package for $30 from <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75259">GameStop</a> or <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Grand-Theft-Auto-Episodes-Xbox-360/dp/B002DC8GMM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&amp;s=videogames&amp;qid=1273510143&amp;sr=8-2">Amazon</a>.<br />

<a href="http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/33426/ps3-games-demons-souls-34-heavy-rain-45-final-fantasy-xiii-45-xbox-360-final-fantasy-xiii-45">SlickDeals tipster DJ3xclusive</a> recently unearthed a handful of <em>handsome</em> discounts currently being offered by Gamestop. Anyone who enters the coupon code "15NEW" while checking out from the retailer's online storefront can save 15 percent on a few games, such as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/final-fantasy-xiii"><em>Final Fantasy XIII</em></a> ($43 after coupon), <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/episodes-from-liberty-city">GTA: Episodes from Liberty City</a> </em>($28), and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bioshock-2"><em>BioShock 2</em></a> ($38). In addition, these three games come with an additional $10 credit to be used on future purchases. Better still, the code works on pre-orders of <a href="http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/33442/super-mario-galaxy-2-wii-game-20-gamestop-credit?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+SlickdealsnetFP+%28SlickDeals.net+Frontpage%29"><em>Super Mario Galaxy 2</em></a> ($42.50), which comes with $20 credit.<br />
<br />
The discount also applies to the <em>BioShock 2 Collector's Edition</em> ($68), <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/demons-souls"><em>Demon's Souls</em></a> ($34) and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/heavy-rain"><em>Heavy Rain</em></a> ($45), though these three don't come with the appended, complimentary 10-spot. Still, those are some pretty great deals. Or, if we could be so bold -- pretty <em>slick</em> deals?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/27/gamestop-discounts-ffxiii-bioshock-2-and-more-offers-free-store/">Gamestop discounts FFXIII, BioShock 2 and more, offers free store credit</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 27 Apr 2010 17:15:00 EST. Haven't picked up <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/episodes-from-liberty-city"><em>Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City</em></a>? For about the same price as the retail console version of the <em>GTA IV</em> expansion packs, you can get every nearly single Rockstar game in one massive, discounted bundle. The "Rockstar Collection" includes 13 titles, including <em>Bully: Scholarship Edition</em>, <em>Manhunt</em>, <em>Max Payne</em>, <em>Midnight Club 2</em>, and every <em>Grand Theft Auto</em> for PC -- including <em>The Lost and the Damned</em> and <em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em>.<br />
<br />
This week, the bundle will be discounted to a mere $42.49, a considerable savings over the suggested $169.90 value for all the games combined. Considering the bundle includes rather new content, one can even consider this package ... a <em>steal</em>.<br />

If you've waited this long for <em>Episodes from Liberty City</em>, another two weeks shouldn't hurt, right? Rockstar Games has pushed back the PS3 and PC releases of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/29/gta-episodes-from-liberty-city-on-ps3-pc-march-30/">long-awaited</a> <em>Grand Theft Auto IV</em> expansions by two weeks due to "a request by Sony Europe to make some minor content changes to the PAL PS3 version of the game." According to the press release, "the minor changes made to the game will not affect the gamers enjoyment of the games, these will not affect any gameplay elements and were not related to any local ratings requirements."<br />
<br />
All versions of the add-ons -- including the downloadable episodes "The Lost &amp; Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony" -- have been delayed to April 13th for North America, and April 16th for all other countries. A Rockstar Games <a href="http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/2010/03/18/4061/episodes_from_liberty_city_now_coming_to_playstation_3_and_pc_this_april">blog post</a> further elaborated on the decision to do a global delay, ensuring that "everyone can experience multiplayer simultaneously, take part in online events together, be on level ground on leaderboards, etc."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/18/gta-episodes-from-liberty-city-for-pc-ps3-delayed-two-weeks-du/">GTA: Episodes From Liberty City for PC, PS3 delayed two weeks due to 'minor content changes'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Mar 2010 17:45:00 EST. Previously, Take-Two and Rockstar games have been published by partners like Capcom, <a href="http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2009/07/06/gta-chinatown-wars-is-the-first-z-rated-ds-game-in-japan/">Cyberfront</a> and, most recently, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/30/bioshock-2-coming-to-japan-courtesy-of-d3-publisher/">D3 Publisher</a>. It always seemed a bit weird to see a <em>GTA</em> game with a Capcom label, and now we'll be spared that minor cognitive dissonance.<br />
<br />
The first game to be released under the new Japanese branch of Take-Two Interactive is <em>Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City</em>. The publisher has yet to offer a date for this Japanese release, or even specify if it will be on both PS3 and Xbox 360.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/24/take-two-taking-its-business-to-japan/">Take-Two taking its business to Japan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 24 Feb 2010 10:15:00 EST. We were all expecting it and finally Rockstar has come through with the announcement: <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/episodes-from-liberty-city">Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City</a></em> is coming to the PS3 and PC on March 30. There will be two ways to get your expansion fix: you can either jack each individual episode -- <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-lost-and-the-damned">The Lost and the Damned</a> </em>or <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-ballad-of-gay-tony">The Ballad of Gay Tony</a> </em>-- through PSN or Games For Windows Live, or you can snag a disc with the new content on there, just like the previous Xbox 360 release. Well, OK, technically it's not "jacking," per se, but work with us here -- it's essential to the mental imagery we're trying to force into your wrinkly thought machine. <em>Jedi blogging</em>.<br />
<br />
A disc will set you back $39.99, while individual episodes will be $20 each. Like the Xbox 360 version of <em>Episodes From Liberty City</em>, a retail disc will not require a copy of <em>GTA IV</em>, while the DLC will.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/29/gta-episodes-from-liberty-city-on-ps3-pc-march-30/">GTA: Episodes From Liberty City on PS3, PC March 30</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 29 Jan 2010 00:16:00 EST. Fielding a question on today's quarterly investors call regarding the performance of <em>Grand Theft Auto 4's</em> DLC double-header and the accompanying retail bundle - <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/The-Lost-and-Damned/"><em>The Lost and Damned</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/The-Ballad-of-Gay-Tony/"><em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em></a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Episodes-from-Liberty-City/"><em>Episodes from Liberty City</em></a>, respectively - Take-Two CEO Ben Feder admits, "Both we and Microsoft believed there was a big market for <em>GTA 4</em> episodic content and some factors affected their performance." Calling the two companies' relationship "a historic, strategic partnership" - <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/09/microsofts-coup-gta-on-360-before-ps3/">remember this</a>? - and calling the episodes themselves "profitable contributors to the company," Feder nevertheless offered some insight into what his company could have done to make them <em>even more profitable</em>.<br />
<br />
"Both were released significantly after the launch of the core unit," Feder says, referring to the April 2008 launch of <em>Grand Theft Auto 4</em>. "And therefore weren't able to leverage <em>GTA 4's</em> initial marketing campaign and initial launch fervor." With <em>The Lost and Damned</em> coming out in February of this year, some 10 months after <em>GTA 4's</em> initial release, and <em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em> this past October, 18 months after the initial release, we'd have to agree that timing played an issue; the <em>GTA 4</em> hype machine had worn off. <br />

The company's net revenue for fiscal 2009 was $968.5 million, down from $1.5 billion. Take-Two attributes the loss to the lack of a game as strong as <em>Grand Theft Auto IV</em>.<br />
<br />
It wasn't all bad news, however. Net revenue in Q4 was actually up over 2008, from $323.4 million to $343.4 million. Take-Two attributes the success in this period to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Borderlands/"><em>Borderlands</em></a><em>, NBA 2K10,</em><em> </em>both the <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/the-ballad-of-gay-tony">downloadable</a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/episodes-from-liberty-city">disc-based</a> releases of the <em>Grand Theft Auto</em> content and, yes, <em>GTA IV</em>, which must have experienced a resurgence when <em>Gay Tony</em> and <em>Episodes from Liberty City</em> were released.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/17/take-two-revenues-up-in-q4-down-overall-for-the-year/">Take-Two: revenues up in Q4, down overall for the year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Dec 2009 18:00:00 EST. Analyst Jesse Divnich expects year-over-year declines for every console except the PS3 -- but <em>also</em> expects the Wii to regain its place at the lead, with an estimated 600,000 units sold. Divnich predicts that the Wii will remain at the top for the rest of the year -- based partly on <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/new-super-mario-bros-wii">New Super Mario Bros. Wii</a>. </em>Divnich expects the title to lose initially to <em>Modern Warfare 2</em> in November, but pick up sales in the holidays and become the best-selling game of the year.<br /> <br /> Other games expected to pick up in the holidays include <em>Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City</em> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/BrutalLegend/"><em>Brutal Legend</em></a>. Divnich expects both games to underperform in October (coming in at under 100,000 and 300,000 units, respectively), but to receive significant boosts in the holidays.<br /> <br /> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/demons-souls"><em>Demon's Souls</em></a>, however, may <em>exceed</em> expectations. Divnich estimates that Atlus's punishing RPG sold 100,000 copies in October.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/10/eedar-predicts-nintendo-dominance-weak-gta-and-brutal-legend-pe/">EEDAR predicts Nintendo dominance, weak GTA and Brutal Legend performance in October sales</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Nov 2009 14:30:00 EST. Another <em>football</em> game came out in the UK last week and, once again, it came in first place in the region's weekly software sales charts. This time around, the game was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/football-manager-2010"><em>Football Manager 2010</em></a>, in which soccer isn't played, but rather, <em>managed</em>. That's far too boring a concept to discuss further, so instead, let's move to the other big debuts:<em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wii-fit-plus">Wii Fit Plus</a></em>, for instance, came in second place for the week, which is -- wait a minute. Doesn't <em>Wii Fit Plus</em> have a "Soccer Heading" minigame? Oh, Nintendo. You know <em>exactly</em> what you're doing.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/episodes-from-liberty-city"><em>Episodes From Liberty City</em></a> and<em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tekken-6">Tekken 6</a></em> also made a splash during their launch week, garnering sixth and eighth place finishes, respectively. However, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dj-hero"><em>DJ Hero</em></a> seems to be following <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/25/guitar-hero-co-founder-expects-dj-hero-to-have-slower-initial-sa/">its expected, slow-starting sales trajectory</a>, debuting at twentieth place in last week's chart. We've got a small suggestion for FreeStyle Games to improve the rhythm title's performance in the UK: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTNwrUSjYF0"><em>Needs moar Dizzee Rascal</em></a>.<br />

With the release of this week's second <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gta-iv"><em>Grand Theft Auto IV</em></a> expansion <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-ballad-of-gay-tony"><em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em></a>, the game's developer has decided to update the online multiplayer statistics tracking in order to reflect the new multiplayer game types. The addition of "BASE Jump" to the mulitplayer as well as "new, tighter Deathmatch arenas" helped spur the leaderboard overhaul, according to the <a href="http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/2009/10/29/1811/all-new_grand_theft_auto_leaderboards_system_launched_at_social_club_in_honor_of_episodes_from_liberty_city_release">developer blog</a>. The second and final "Episode from Liberty City," <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-ballad-of-gay-tony"><em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em></a>, has arrived. As the tale of Liberty City comes to a close, does <em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em> present an exciting final act or an anti-climactic letdown? We'll let the critics at large weigh in on this one:<br />
<ul>
    <li><a href="http://gameinformer.com/games/grand_theft_auto_iv_the_ballad_of_gay_tony/b/xbox360/archive/2009/10/28/review.aspx">Game Informer</a> (<strong>93/100</strong>): "While I preferred the tight-knit story of brotherhood and betrayal in <em>The Lost and Damned, The Ballad of Gay Ton</em>y delivers more explosive weapons, death-defying missions, and off-the-wall characters. Don't miss your chance to close out the <em>GTA IV</em> experience in style."</li>
    <li><a href="http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/103/1039898p1.html">IGN</a> (<strong>92/100</strong>): "<em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em> is the perfect way to close out the <em>GTA IV</em> saga. Finally, we know what happened to the diamonds stolen in the main story a year-and-a-half ago. Though Luis Lopez doesn't have much of a story at all (this is the ballad of his boss, after all), the supporting cast is phenomenal. There are a lot of hilarious moments and ludicrous missions that will please <em>GTA</em> fans. Sure, a few of the missions fall flat compared to the wild nature of others, but all-in-all this is a fine package and worth 20 bucks. "</li>
    <li><a href="http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3176671&amp;p=4">1UP</a> (<strong>A-</strong>): "This has been one hell of a ride. I'm going to miss seeing something new in <em>Liberty City,</em> as I've probably been to every available nook and cranny. I suppose I could still go hunting for those damn pigeons, but with so many other games coming out in the coming months, I don't know where I'll find the time... at least until Rockstar gives me a ticket to their next world of crime, violence, and vice."</li>
    <li><a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/grand-theft-auto-iv-the-ballad-of-gay-tony-review">Eurogamer</a> (<strong>80/100</strong>): "Perhaps Tony Prince does nothing to drag the series forward -- somewhat fittingly for a man with his head stuck in the eighties -- but the episode Rockstar has named in his honour is a colourful and pleasingly unpredictable adventure that gets better throughout and ends on a high."</li>

We'd thought the <em>Grand Theft Auto</em> franchise had taken us to lovingly rendered simulacra of every metropolitan city-type known to man, but apparently, we thought wrong. In the back of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/episodes-from-liberty-city"><em>GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City</em></a> manual, a fake advertisement points to the series' "<a href="http://www.gta4.net/news/4359/liberty-city-its-over--next-stop/">Next Stop</a>" (seen above). Of course, the destination being teased is quite obviously the lovely town of Clip Artington, Minnesota. Surely you've heard of Clip Artington! It's renowned for its apple butter festivals.<br /> <br /> On the off chance the teaser is pointing to a different city, we've ... <em>we've really got no idea</em>. Looks like a desert, though, right? And a mountain? And some conical, obsidian monoliths? <em>What? </em>Trees? Oh, yeah, that makes a lot more sense. We'd love to hear your speculation in a well-written, thought-provoking comment! There's a place for those right after the jump, you know.<br /> <br /> [Image credit: <a href="http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=5691">VGChartz</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/28/gtas-next-stop-teased-in-liberty-city-episodes-manual/">GTA's 'Next Stop' teased in Liberty City Episodes manual</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 28 Oct 2009 17:55:00 EST. Namedropping exclusives from <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3-odst">Halo 3: ODST</a> </em>to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/episodes-from-liberty-city"><em>Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City</em></a> to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/shadow-complex"><em>Shadow Complex</em></a>, as well as reaffirming Microsoft's "year-to-date growth in console sales compared to last year," Microsoft's director of product management <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/aaron-greenberg">Aaron Greenberg</a> sounds extremely confident in the Xbox 360 (that's his job, right?). Thankfully, he's not always above admitting when his competitors are going to win. "When NPD releases September sales later today, we fully expect PlayStation 3 will come in as the console with the most units sold for the month," he tells <a href="http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2009/10/15/microsoft-s-aaron-greenberg-looks-to-holiday-2009-beyond.aspx">Game Informer</a> in a recent interview. <br /><br />Unsurprisingly, though, he's sanguine on the prospect of Microsoft's console beating out Sony's. "We remain confident that Xbox 360 will not only outsell PS3 for the full calendar year, but for this entire generation." His confidence wanes though when asked about beating Apple with the Zune HD, offering only, "Our strategy has always been to completely focus on delivering the best games and entertainment experience in the living room and not get distracted by anything else." Gotta know when to hold 'em <em>and</em> when to fold 'em, right?<br /><br />[Image credit: <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/gamerscore/">gamerscore</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/16/microsofts-aaron-greenberg-touts-holiday-exclusives-360-sales/">Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg touts holiday exclusives, 360 sales growth in down economy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 16 Oct 2009 13:30:00 EST. Did you ever wonder what it would look like if, instead of <em>one</em> guy parachuting down into Liberty City, it was <em>eight people</em>? Probably not. Anyway, here's a screenshot of that from Rockstar's latest release, detailing <em>The Ballad of Gay Tony's</em> <a href="http://www.rockstargames.com/theballadofgaytony/multiplayer">multiplayer modes</a>.<br /><br />Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch will see lots of new weapons, of course, but also new Kill Streaks and Assisted Kills, which provide <em>cash</em> bonuses. Free Mode gets a little freer with the addition of Buzzard helicopters, APCs, and, of course, <em>parachutes</em>. We can't wait to see what kind of ridiculous emergent competition comes from parachute-based combat.<br /><br />Check our gallery for more new multiplayer screens!<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gta-the-ballad-of-gay-tony-multiplayer/">GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony (Multiplayer)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gta-the-ballad-of-gay-tony-multiplayer/#2365517"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/gtaballad101410_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gta-the-ballad-of-gay-tony-multiplayer/#2365518"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/gtaballad101405_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gta-the-ballad-of-gay-tony-multiplayer/#2365519"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/gtaballad101403_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gta-the-ballad-of-gay-tony-multiplayer/#2365521"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/gtaballad101402_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gta-the-ballad-of-gay-tony-multiplayer/#2365522"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/gtaballad101404_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/14/rockstar-drops-details-of-new-multiplayer-in-gta-the-ballad-of/">Rockstar drops details of new multiplayer in GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Oct 2009 18:30:00 EST. Ahead of the impending release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-ballad-of-gay-tony"><em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em></a> -- as DLC or as a part of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/01/gta-ivs-ballad-of-gay-tony-sings-oct-29/"><em>Episodes from Liberty City</em> retail disc</a> -- <em>Grand Theft Auto IV</em> has been updated with new Achievements on Xbox.com. Ten new Achievements have been added for <em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em>, totaling 250 points and bringing the grand total for <em>GTAIV</em> to 1500 points. Players are rewarded for various tasks in the expansion, including base jumping, cage fighting and -- Joystiq's favorite -- <em>dancing flawlessly</em>.<br />

Terrorists have made their way into the city and brought their tools of destruction with them. Though we'd love to spend our precious time poring over the just-released cover of upcoming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gta-iv"><em>Grand Theft Auto IV</em></a> DLC retail pack, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/episodes-from-liberty-city"><em>Episodes from Liberty City</em></a>, we're not entirely certain of what to pick apart. The usual sexified lady and mean-looking gentlemen are present and accounted for, as is another helicopter to remind us of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-ballad-of-gay-tony"><em>The Ballad of Gay Tony's</em></a> apparent vehicle of choice. A few friends from the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-lost-and-damned"><em>The Lost &amp; Damned</em></a> also make an appearance, but there isn't much else to ogle.<br />
<br />
We still don't have a release date for the expansion or much more than <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/29/first-screens-for-the-ballad-of-gay-tony-go-airborne/">a handful of screenshots</a>, so we <em>really</em> <em>hope</em> you enjoy this box art until the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/the-ballad-of-gay-tony-gets-its-first-trailer-this-tuesday/">first trailer</a> hits tomorrow afternoon.<br />

Notorious for not saying much about the <em>GTA</em> series until the very last minute, Rockstar Games stuck to form today in announcing the first trailer for upcoming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gta-iv"><em>GTA IV</em></a> expansion <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/+the-ballad-of-gay-tony/">The Ballad of Gay Tony</a></em>. According to the company's <a href="http://www.rockstargames.com/news/2009/08/27/281/grand_theft_auto_episodes_from_liberty_city_trailer_coming_09.01.09">website</a>, a trailer for <em>Episodes from Liberty City</em> will be released this Tuesday, "featuring <em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em>." <br /><br />The only images we've seen so far from the DLC haven't been much more than loading screen art, and now the shot above of what looks to be Luis jumping out of a plane. The second episode of Rockstar's promised downloadable expansions to <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Grand%20Theft%20Auto%20IV">Grand Theft Auto IV</a></em> has been announced! The cheeky developer revealed the DLC as <em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em>, which places you in the (assumed) fancy shoes of Luis Lopez, a "part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince" (or "Gay Tony"), the titular bar mogul who made a number of appearances in <em>GTA IV</em>.<br /><br />While we're sure to hear more about the particulars of <em>Gay Tony</em> during E3, the method of the game's release should prove to be interesting as well. Not only will the expansion hit Xbox Live this fall for $19.99, it'll also appear on a retail disc with <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=The%20Lost%20and%20Damned">The Lost and Damned</a></em>. This retail disc, titled <em>Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City,</em> won't contain the core <em>GTA IV</em> game -- nor will it require <em>GTA IV</em> to play. It'll hit store shelves in the fall, selling for $39.99. We'll let you know more when we know more!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/26/rockstar-announces-gta-the-ballad-of-gay-tony-coming-to-xbox-l/">Rockstar announces GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony, coming to Xbox Live and retail compilation</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 26 May 2009 16:35:00 EST.
