Dean Nelson, from UK business advisory firm Smith Cooper, has been appointed administrator of the company.<br /><br />Eurocom issued a statement to <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-12-07-james-bond-developer-eurocom-makes-remaining-staff-redundant-ceases-trading">Eurogamer</a> saying that, following pressure from <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HM_Revenue_and_Customs">Revenue &amp; Customs</a>, the company decided to file its intention to appoint an administrator in order to allow time to try to save the business. However, contract negotiations with potential clients weren't secured in time, and without enough money to pay its bills, a member of UK business advisory firm Smith cooper was appointed administrator of the company.<br /><br />The full statement from Eurocom is after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/07/007-legends-dev-eurocom-lays-off-remaining-staff/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>007 Legends dev Eurocom lays off remaining staff</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/07/007-legends-dev-eurocom-lays-off-remaining-staff/">007 Legends dev Eurocom lays off remaining staff</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 Dec 2012 10:00:00 EST. Neither do I - but that's how <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/007-legends"><em>007 Legends</em></a> remembers things.<br /><br />Admittedly, such inaccurate adaptations are not entirely to blame for <em>007 Legends'</em> failings; certain concessions need to be made to create an engaging video game. But the degree to which developer Eurocom and publisher Activision fail to successfully capitalize on any of the crazy action sequences or exotic settings of the five films featured in <em>Legends</em> is astounding. Bond's most memorable moments have been mutated almost beyond recognition to fit the mold of a safe first-person shooter, and the result is a bland, boring mess.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/007-legends-die-another-day-and-license-to-kill/">007 Legends (Die Another Day &amp; License To Kill)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/007-legends-die-another-day-and-license-to-kill/#5210232"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/08/007-legends---biodome-die-another-day_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Die Another Day" title="Die Another Day" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/007-legends-die-another-day-and-license-to-kill/#5210233"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/08/007-legends---gustav-graves-die-another-day_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Die Another Day" title="Die Another Day" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/007-legends-die-another-day-and-license-to-kill/#5210234"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/08/007-legends---jinx-die-another-day_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Die Another Day" title="Die Another Day" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/007-legends-die-another-day-and-license-to-kill/#5210235"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/08/007-legends---watch-laser-die-another-day_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Die Another Day" title="Die Another Day" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/007-legends-die-another-day-and-license-to-kill/#5210237"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/08/007-legends---agent-bouvier-licence-to-kill_thumbnail.jpg" alt="License to Kill" title="License to Kill" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/19/007-legends-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>007 Legends review: Live and let (this game) die</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/19/007-legends-review/">007 Legends review: Live and let (this game) die</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 19 Oct 2012 18:00:00 EST. Activision has yet to announce which films from the character's 50-year-long movie history will be represented, but we guarantee they'll include tuxedos, girls, and gunfights. We also guarantee it'll be weird that the same guy, at roughly the same age, is taking on missions in the '60s and now.<br /><br />Developed by Eurocom, the new game seems to serve as a sequel to the Wii's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007"><em>Goldeneye 007</em></a> and its updated port <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007-reloaded">Goldeneye 007 Reloaded</a></em>. A single-player mode brings back that game's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/02/goldeneye-007-reloaded-walkthrough-takes-us-through-mi-6-mode/">MI-6 Ops Missions</a>, this time playable from a villain's perspective as well. Multiplayer is also included, in both local split-screen and online competitive modes.<br /><br /><em>007 Legends </em>is due this fall. We just realized, why not tie together seven Bond films for the story? Then the title could have been a nice self-referential pun.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/18/007-legends-six-bond-films-shaken-not-stirred-into-a-single-g/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>007 Legends: six Bond films shaken, not stirred, into a single game</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/18/007-legends-six-bond-films-shaken-not-stirred-into-a-single-g/">007 Legends: six Bond films shaken, not stirred, into a single game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 18 Apr 2012 09:15:00 EST. In the eyes of many, the original <em>GoldenEye 007</em> for the Nintendo 64 stands out as much more than a mere game. GoldenEye is a legend with a legacy all its own; one that cannot be substituted or replicated. Of course, that didn't stop Activision from making the attempt in 2010 with a brand new game with the familiar moniker of <em>GoldenEye 007</em> for the Wii.<br />
<br />
Mercifully, the publisher made the very wise (and legally mandated) decision to carry the franchise forward in name only. Rather than creating a direct remake of the 1997 classic, they crafted an entirely new experience that was surprisingly original while still feeling classically GoldenEye. The new game featured much of the style of the original while reimagining the story and characters and events in the modern day.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007-reloaded"><em>GoldenEye 007: Reloaded</em></a> is the latest attempt to fill in the N64 classic's sizable tuxedo -- this time in high definition. Unfortunately, while <em>Reloaded</em> fits into the right suit, it seems that it's gotten a bit snug.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/08/deja-review-goldeneye-007-reloaded/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Deja Review: GoldenEye 007: Reloaded</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/08/deja-review-goldeneye-007-reloaded/">Deja Review: GoldenEye 007: Reloaded</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Nov 2011 16:05:00 EST. A secret agent rarely has any influence over the difficulty of his or her missions, but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007-reloaded"><em>Goldeneye 007: Reloaded</em></a>'s MI-6 mode gives its kill-licensed professionals that very courtesy. <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007-reloaded"><br />
Goldeneye 007: Reloaded</a></em> nods to our nostalgia but with better graphics and smoother action sequences in a setting we all played and loved. For precisely this reason, Activision and Eurocom decided to put dubstep in the latest <em>Reloaded </em>trailer. Oh, sorry -- we meant, "For no reason whatsoever." Common mistake.<br />
<br />
This does make us wonder what the reception would have been to the above video had it released in 1997. Probably a barrage of praise for its industry-shattering graphics, and a lot of muttering about unnecessarily synthesized bass lines and <em>kids these days</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/30/goldeneye-007-reloaded-wants-to-prove-it-isnt-an-old-fogie-so/">Goldeneye 007: Reloaded wants to prove it isn't an old fogie, so it has dubstep</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 30 Oct 2011 14:30:00 EST. If you're so committed to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007-reloaded"><em>GoldenEye 007: Reloaded</em></a> that you're willing to drop some cash early, you've got several pre-order bonuses to choose from. Three major retailers have their own exclusives, which grant early access to some different game modes and a custom weapon skin.<br />
<br />
A pre-order at GameStop unlocks Paintball mode for local split-screen and online private multiplayer matches -- fans of <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEac0MlfSEc">the original <em>GoldenEye 007</em> on the N64</a> likely remember this as one of the easier unlockables in that game. A GameStop pre-order also ensures "early access into the Classic Conflict Mode" for online public and private matches.<br />
<br />
Amazon's pre-order bonus is pretty basic (a black Moonraker laser rifle skin), and Best Buy grants early access to Tag and Invisibility modes for local split-screen and private online matches. Tag is a version of the school yard classic where a tagged player is incapable of murdering opponents unless they run up and tag somebody else, while Invisibility mode simply makes everyone invisible.<br />
<br />
You can pre-order through these three retailers starting today. <em>GoldenEye 007: Reloaded</em> launches on the Xbox 360 and PS3 on November 1.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/11/goldeneye-007-reloaded-pre-order-bonuses-detailed/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GoldenEye 007: Reloaded pre-order bonuses detailed</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/11/goldeneye-007-reloaded-pre-order-bonuses-detailed/">GoldenEye 007: Reloaded pre-order bonuses detailed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Oct 2011 08:00:00 EST. If you didn't buy all the PlayStation Move hardware yesterday thanks to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/13/playstation-move-peripheral-s-knocked-down-50-while-supplies/">GameStop's 50% off sale</a>, you might be interested in Activision's special Move-only <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007-reloaded">GoldenEye 007: Reloaded</a></em> bundle, called the "Double 'O' Edition."<br />
<br />
The first 'O' is surely the game, which has unsurprisingly remapped the original Wii controls to the Move. That means the second 'O' must be referring to the bundled hardware, which includes a Move motion controller, the navigation controller, a PlayStation Eye camera, and the SharpShooter peripheral. But there's also a PS3-exclusive downloadable character, Moonraker's Hugo Drax ... is that a third 'O'?<br />
<br />
There's no word on price, but we're going to guess it matches <em>Resistance 3's</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/resistance-3-doomsday-edition-pack-launching-on-september-6-fo/">very similar Doomsday bundle</a> at $150. Depending on your income, that could certainly elicit yet another 'O.'<br />

You can find any other missing 'O's on November 1, when both the regular edition and the Double 'O' Edition shake up your local supervillain's subterranean shopping fortress.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-007-reloaded-double-o-edition-playstation-3/">GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Double 'O' Edition PlayStation 3</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-007-reloaded-double-o-edition-playstation-3/#4446709"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/goldeneye-007-reloadeddouble-o-edition-bundle3d-box-shot_thumbnail.jpg" alt="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Double 'O' Edition PS3 Box" title="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Double 'O' Edition PS3 Box" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-007-reloaded-double-o-edition-playstation-3/#4446710"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/goldeneye-007-reloadedhugo-draxps3-exclusive_thumbnail.jpg" alt="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded - Hugo Drax Bonus Character" title="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded - Hugo Drax Bonus Character" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-007-reloaded-double-o-edition-playstation-3/#4446711"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/goldeneye-007-reloadedmoonraker-laser-pistolps3-exclusive_thumbnail.jpg" alt="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Double 'O' Edition PS3 Motion Controller" title="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Double 'O' Edition PS3 Motion Controller" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/goldeneye-007-reloaded-gets-special-move-bundle-for-ps3/">GoldenEye 007: Reloaded gets special Move bundle for PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Sep 2011 10:30:00 EST. Beyond looking good in a tuxedo, an MI-6 agent must be skilled in many other areas. The MI-6 mode in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007-reloaded">GoldenEye 007: Reloaded</a></em> will test each operative in a variety of ways: defense, stealth and martini preparation -- well, okay, not that last one.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/18/goldeneye-007-reloaded-fires-off-mi-6-mode-trailer/">GoldenEye 007: Reloaded fires off MI-6 mode trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Aug 2011 00:00:00 EST. Here we go again. It was almost a certainty last year that we'd see the version of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/14/goldeneye-007-wii-preview/"><em>GoldenEye 007</em> released for the Wii</a> eventually brought out to the HD consoles, but it's fair to say that Activision surprised everyone with the reveal of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007-reloaded"><em>GoldenEye 007: Reloaded</em></a>, being <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/20/goldeneye-007-reloaded-gets-official-aiming-for-360-and-ps3-th/">released this fall as a full retail title</a>.<br />
<br />
So yes, the odds are that we'll all be playing through <em>GoldenEye</em> (first created by Rare for the Nintendo 64 fourteen years ago, and reimagined by Eurocom for the Wii release last year) yet again. This new version has the modern story tweaks, the addition of Daniel Craig, and all of the other reimaginings from the Wii, but Eurocom is aiming for even more, adding in a new set of modes called MI-6 Ops, as well as co-op and full competitive multiplayer. If <em>Call of Duty</em> had a baby with Rare's classic, this is what would crawl out.<br />

It seems that those <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/19/rumor-goldeneye-reloaded-screens-infiltrate-the-web/">leaked screens</a> for another Activision-published GoldenEye project were legit, or at very least had the name of the forthcoming release right. <em>GoldenEye 007: Reloaded</em> is apparently an HD port of last year's Wii game, coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this fall from Eurocom. Activision announced the game this morning via press release, which describes the game as having "the legendary story campaign," "brand new Mi6 Ops Missions" (which are new, objective-based levels), and a revamped multiplayer component.<br />
<br />
Rather than a simple up-scaling of the Wii game, <em>Reloaded</em> is said to be "built on a brand new engine" and run at 60 frames per second. But beyond the HD update and Mi6 missions, it seems that the game is a repeat of last year's Wii shooter -- you can even play it with the PlayStation Move, should you prefer a more Wii-like experience. And while we were <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/02/goldeneye-007-review/">fans of the Wii title</a>, it's perhaps best not to get <em>too</em> jazzed about the second release of a reimagining of a game we played on Nintendo 64 in 1997.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/20/goldeneye-007-reloaded-gets-official-aiming-for-360-and-ps3-th/">GoldenEye 007: Reloaded gets official, aiming for 360 and PS3 this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Jul 2011 09:25:00 EST. If there were any question about how much the recently released <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007">Goldeneye</a></em> title for Nintendo Wii closely resembles its N64 predecessor -- regardless of the source material -- this video from <a href="http://www.rewindreplay.com/goldeneye/">RewindReplayTV</a> certainly cements it. Beyond the game's setting and characters, there are shot-for-shot moments that directly recreate the original game (albeit with far more detail and polish). <br />
<br />
Also, if you needed a stirring reminder of how much a Nintendo 64 game can age over the years, <em>Goldeneye 64</em> is perhaps the pinnacle among available examples. Seeing it against Eurocom's sterling Wii effort only serves to highlight the ravages of time all the more. See for yourself below the fold.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/09/goldeneye-n64-wii-comparison/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>See how Goldeneye 007 stacks up to its N64 predecessor</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/09/goldeneye-n64-wii-comparison/">See how Goldeneye 007 stacks up to its N64 predecessor</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 09 Nov 2010 18:30:00 EST. There's nothing quite like witnessing the likes of Baron Samedi and Francisco Scaramanga -- fully digitally rendered from forthcoming game <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007">Goldeneye 007</a></em> -- before being riddled with PP7 bullets. But that's just what Activision has sent over: beautiful artist renditions of Bond's worst enemies, before their inevitable demises.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/31/goldeneye-007-enemies-are-looking-sharp/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Goldeneye 007 enemies are looking sharp</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/31/goldeneye-007-enemies-are-looking-sharp/">Goldeneye 007 enemies are looking sharp</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 31 Oct 2010 20:30:00 EST. Our favorite part of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007"><em>Goldeneye 007</em></a> -- the movie and N64 game -- was when James Bond, tired of his usual stealthy modus operandi, hopped into a tank and just <em>went to town</em> on St. Petersburg. In the video below, we get a look at this (<em>somewhat</em> more explosive) sequence in the game's spiritual Wiimake.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/28/goldeneye-007-vignette-totally-wrecks-st-petersburg/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GoldenEye 007 vignette totally wrecks St. Petersburg</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/28/goldeneye-007-vignette-totally-wrecks-st-petersburg/">GoldenEye 007 vignette totally wrecks St. Petersburg</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Oct 2010 22:30:00 EST. Back in our day, the mo-cap process for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007"><em>GoldenEye 007</em></a> required a single shot of a dude chopping his hand in a 90 degree arc. Apparently, the remake requires a bit more work than that. Get to know the new Bond's stuntman in the developer's diary posted just below.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/24/goldeneye-007-dev-diary-introduces-the-new-bonds-stuntman/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GoldenEye 007 dev diary introduces the new Bond's stuntman</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/24/goldeneye-007-dev-diary-introduces-the-new-bonds-stuntman/">GoldenEye 007 dev diary introduces the new Bond's stuntman</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 24 Oct 2010 22:00:00 EST. Despite what you may have thought, Alec Trevelyan reminds us (and consequently, James Bond) that it's really not about protecting "Queen and country" -- it's all about "the bankers and their bonuses." It's <em>also</em> all about stopping a satellite weapon from being fired.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/16/goldeneye-007-dives-deep-into-story-for-its-latest-trailer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GoldenEye 007 dives deep into story for its latest trailer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/16/goldeneye-007-dives-deep-into-story-for-its-latest-trailer/">GoldenEye 007 dives deep into story for its latest trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 16 Oct 2010 17:30:00 EST. We poured many, many hours of our lives into the original <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007"><em>GoldenEye</em></a> -- so much so that even the smallest changes in Eurocom's reboot of the shooter are ... noticeable. For example, in the trailer below: You still drop down on a dude using the toilet in the Facility, but now you do it <em>Spider-Man style</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/07/goldeneye-007-villains-choices-and-weapons-trailer-is-strange/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GoldenEye 007 'Villains, Choices and Weapons' trailer is strange but familiar</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/07/goldeneye-007-villains-choices-and-weapons-trailer-is-strange/">GoldenEye 007 'Villains, Choices and Weapons' trailer is strange but familiar</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 07 Oct 2010 18:00:00 EST. Following a marketing trend of cashing in on our deep-seated nostalgia, the latest <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007"><em>Goldeneye 007</em></a> trailer features a few characters from the series' original romp. There's familiar faces like Jaws, Oddjob, Scaramanga and Baron Samedi, who apparently didn't get our memo about the pants situation.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/17/goldeneye-007-character-vignette-features-recognizable-pantsl/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Goldeneye 007 'Character Vignette' features recognizable, pantsless foes</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/17/goldeneye-007-character-vignette-features-recognizable-pantsl/">Goldeneye 007 'Character Vignette' features recognizable, pantsless foes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 Sep 2010 21:30:00 EST. The new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007"><em>Goldeneye 007</em></a> doesn't have Pierce Brosnan and isn't a remake of the classic N64 title. This latest trailer looks at how Eurocom is reimagining the story of the film -- with Daniel Craig's Bond -- for today's audience. One thing you can't update: <a href="http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0000332/quotes">Joe Don Baker</a>. "A new <em>Goldeneye</em> has arrived," the trailer below matter-of-factly states, "so what are you going to do?" That, Mr. Trailer, is an awfully open-ended question. We imagine we'll stick to our usual routine of waking up at noon, then turning on whatever television station is currently running an <em>America's Next Top Model</em> marathon, but -- oh, we see. That's one of those <em>rhetorical questions</em>. We're supposed to say "multiplayer, of course," and then you show a bunch of clips from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007"><em>Goldeneye 007</em>'s</a> multiplayer component. Sorry for the confusion.<br />
<br />
Check out some new-but-familiar maps (hey, it's the Facility!), guns (hey, it's the RCP90!) and features (hey, it's Paintball Mode!) in the trailer posted after the jump. Or, if you're interested in the game's single player campaign <em>for some reason</em>, you can check that out in the nifty galleries posted even <em>further</em> after the jump.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/20/goldeneye-multiplayer-trailer-and-screens-take-us-back/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Goldeneye multiplayer trailer and screens take us back</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/20/goldeneye-multiplayer-trailer-and-screens-take-us-back/">Goldeneye multiplayer trailer and screens take us back</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 20 Aug 2010 21:00:00 EST. In fact, an eyes-on walkthrough of the game's Jungle level at Gamescom this week showed off just how much first-person-shooter game design has changed in the last 13 years.<br />
<br />
The changes were incredibly apparent right from the start, when the developers guiding the demo sneaked up behind a guard and took him out with the kind of close-quarters combat neck-snap you might expect to see in <a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NeckSnap">every bit of pop culture ever</a> (but not the original <em>Goldeneye</em>). Taking out two more guards with headshots ensured that the alarm wouldn't be raised and the game could remain a <em>Splinter Cell-</em>style stealth experience for at least a while longer.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-7-16-2010/">GoldenEye 007 (7/16/2010)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-7-16-2010/#3179296"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/07/damfirefight_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-7-16-2010/#3179297"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/07/bondjump_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-7-16-2010/#3179298"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/07/facility1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-7-16-2010/#3179299"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/07/facility2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-7-16-2010/#3179300"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/07/guards_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/20/preview-goldeneye-007-single-player/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Preview: Goldeneye 007 (single player)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/20/preview-goldeneye-007-single-player/">Preview: Goldeneye 007 (single player)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 20 Aug 2010 18:00:00 EST. Remember those <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/05/report-new-goldeneye-coming-in-november-to-be-revealed-at-e3/">images</a> which leaked out of Activision's survey about the spiritual successor to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007"><em>Goldeneye</em></a>? Remember that totally bitchin' gold Wii <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/classic-controller-pro">Classic Controller Pro</a> depicted in one of said images? It's very real, and can be very yours if you elect to pick up the <a href="http://wii.ign.com/articles/111/1111528p1.html"><em>GoldenEye 007</em> Classic Edition</a> for $69.99 when the game launches later this year.<br />
<br />
This news will be especially exciting to you if you're planning on playing the game using the Classic control scheme, which eschews the Wiimote and Nunchuck for a more traditional input experience -- one which we imagine will be much more "retro"-feeling, and much less less likely to result in you hurling a Wiimote through your TV while attempting to chuck a Throwing Knife at a bothersome foe.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/11/goldeneye-007-classic-edition-includes-gold-classic-controller-p/">Goldeneye 007 Classic Edition includes gold Classic Controller Pro</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Aug 2010 12:30:00 EST. If your Friday was feeling light on <em>dashing</em> digitized photos of <em>dashing</em> Daniel Craig, Activision is here to help alleviate the issue. Not only has <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007">GoldenEye 007</a></em>'s publisher released a handful of new screens that we've dropped into a gallery for you below, but there's also a new trailer that we've embedded after the break. <br />
<br />
What, that's not enough? How about some photos of that <em>other</em> Daniel Craig looking dashing in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/James-Bond-007-Blood-Stone/">another </a></em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/James-Bond-007-Blood-Stone/">Bond game</a>? Well, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/16/james-bond-007-blood-stone-trailer-is-for-your-eyes-only/">here you go</a>! It's Bond day, didn't you know?<br />

Let's clear one thing up: This <em>GoldenEye</em> Wii game is <u>not</u> your <em>GoldenEye</em> N64 game all prettied up. This is an original game based on the same Bond ... movie (though featuring the Daniel Craig Bond). That's not to say that the new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007/"><em>GoldenEye 007</em></a> doesn't borrow -- what it legally can -- from Rare's classic console FPS, but be careful about expecting a modern port of the 1997 game known simply and lovingly as "<em>Bond</em>." (That project is still <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/06/red-tape-preventing-goldeneye-revival/">not happening</a>.) <br />
<br />
At Nintendo's E3 booth, I played a quick round of two-player split-screen multiplayer of this new <em>GoldenEye</em>, and it left a positive impression. I could have sworn my opponent and I had faced off in a classic <em>Bond</em> map (the Archives, I thought), but Activision insists this is an "original" level, in so much as it is not a recreation of one of Rare's maps from the N64 game. Of course, Rare's maps were based on sets from the movie, and Activision has the rights to have maps designed from these same sets. So, expect to get a sense of d&eacute;j&agrave; vu when playing the new <em>Goldeneye</em>.<br />

More evidence to support the circulating rumors of a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/goldeneye-2010"><em>GoldenEye</em></a> remake surfaced this past week. The most convincing <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/activision-goldeneye-game-in-november">comes from Eurogamer</a>, which reports that a source has confirmed Activision is working on a revamped version of the classic Nintendo 64 shooter for the Wii and DS to be released this November. The game is supposedly being developed by n-Space and Eurocom, the latter of which created the N64 version of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World_Is_Not_Enough_%28video_game%29"><em>The World is Not Enough</em></a>. The source also mentioned the publisher will showcase the title for the very first time at E3, so we won't have to wait long to learn if this unnamed tipster is on the money.<br />
<br />
A slightly more suspect piece of evidence comes to us <a href="http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=125721">via GoNintendo</a>, which posted a series of images from an anonymous source, purportedly stripped from a survey referencing a <em>GoldenEye</em> Wii-make. This survey mentions "a modernized version of the classic story with the new Bond (Daniel Craig)," which, if true, would be a minor travesty. Don't get us wrong, we love Craig -- but you really can't out-Brosnan Brosnan, you know?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/05/report-new-goldeneye-coming-in-november-to-be-revealed-at-e3/">Report: New GoldenEye coming in November, to be revealed at E3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 05 Jun 2010 13:30:00 EST. Sega has released a demo of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/12/ice-those-thumbs-sega-announces-vancouver-2010/"><em>Vancouver 2010 - The Official Video Game of the Olympic Winter Games</em></a>. We're not sure about the gameplay, but the <em>title</em> definitely deserves a medal. Come on, it has the word "game" in it <em>twice</em>. As for the demo, it has a sample of one of the Olympic sim's fourteen different modes, as well as the Landing Zone challenge. If you think your well-trained thumbs are up to the task, the demo can be yours for only 684MB of free space.<br />

<em><small>It'll probably look a bit better than this</small></em></div>
Shortly before being pulled from the internet's intimidating view, an animator's online resume may have let out a secret -- concerning an iconic secret agent. According to the eagle-eyed <a href="http://supererogatory.tumblr.com/post/223707250/experience-team-bondi-sydney-australia">Superannuation</a>, Craig Peck listed work on a game dubbed "GoldenEye 2010 (Wii)," created in association with British developer Eurocom.<br />
<br />
Eurocom previously worked on the PlayStation 2 version of Activision's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/quantum-of-solace"><em>Quantum of Solace</em></a> tie-in. Assuming "GoldenEye 2010" isn't merely a nostalgic codename, it seems the publisher could be looking to a well-regarded classic for inspiration on a new James Bond game. Alas, Hollywood can't keep up with Activision's annual aspirations. <br />
<br />
The publisher won't divulge any of its plans this early, leaving us to wait for further information or for our time-traveling correspondent to confirm the game's existence. He's really more of a <em>GoldenEye 2020</em> fan -- looking back, that really was the best of the remakes.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/26/rumor-animator-resume-lists-work-on-goldeneye-2010/">Rumor: Animator resume lists work on 'GoldenEye 2010'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Oct 2009 14:50:00 EST. HBO's <em><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0844441/">True Blood</a></em> houses an all-star cast, one of which consistently tops the sales charts throughout the gaming world -- of course, we're referring to the Nintendo Wii. The home console has made multiple appearances in the show, from the main character <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bUi6jukZ_E">showcasing his golf skills</a> to its most <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKrSDZpFIm4">recent cameo</a> -- showing off the upcoming shooter, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Dead-Space-Extraction/">Dead Space: Extraction</a></em>.<br /><br />In last <strike>night's</strike> week's season 2 episode, "New World In My View," Hoyt Fortenberry's aggressive mother waggles her way through a slew of <em>Extraction</em> enemies. While the game won't hit store shelves until September 29, the popular adult drama looks like as good a place as any to get the game's marketing machine rolling. Check out the clip after the break. When you scan the new 360 releases this week, you may feel a sense of <em>d&eacute;j&agrave; vu</em>. "<em>Unreal Tournament III</em>," you will say, "didn't that come out eight months ago?" Fear not, however, for your eyes do not deceive you. The Xbox 360 version of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/unreal-tournament-3"><em>Unreal Tournament III</em></a> has finally released, bereft of user created content though it may be. Presenting us with another trip back in time is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/05/bad-company-and-civilization-demos-now-on-xblm/"><em>Civilization Revolution</em></a>, which has players building their ... civilizations from ancient times all the way into the space age. If you haven't given the demo a try, we suggest you do. It's good fun. Finally, we have <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/10/sega-eurocom-tapped-for-08-olympics-game/"><em>Beijing Olympics 2008</em></a>. We're guessing that one involves a lot of button mashing and stick twirling. You'd best prepare for the calluses now.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/07/new-games-this-week-civilization-revolution-edition/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/07/shipping-this-week-time-machine-edition/">Shipping this week: Time machine edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 07 Jul 2008 11:30:00 EST. Developed by Eurocom for the Wii and PlayStation 2 (and by A2M for the DS), <em><a href="http://www.sierra.com/en/home/news/product_news/050808_-_mummy_game.html">The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor</a></em> will closely follow the events of this August's reanimation of long-dead material, complete with "a fast and fluid combat system and an arsenal of weaponry that can be used to vanquish the many bone-chilling enemies."<br /><br />There's also mention of "hieroglyphic decoding gameplay elements," but we figure Sierra had you at the whole movie tie-in thing. Look for the evil to be resurrected on July 22nd.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-mummy-tomb-of-the-dragon-emperor-1/">The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-mummy-tomb-of-the-dragon-emperor-1/#796264"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/sl-screenshot_013_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-mummy-tomb-of-the-dragon-emperor-1/#796263"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/sl-screenshot_017_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-mummy-tomb-of-the-dragon-emperor-1/#796262"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/sl-screenshot_012_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-mummy-tomb-of-the-dragon-emperor-1/#796261"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/sl-screenshot_004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-mummy-tomb-of-the-dragon-emperor-1/#796222"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/m1-screenshot_002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/08/sierra-shows-us-the-mummy-tomb-of-the-dragon-emperor/">Sierra shows us The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 08 May 2008 19:58:00 EST. Sega, who won the rights to the 2008 Olympics <a href="http://www.lockergnome.com/game/2005/12/05/sega-gets-gaming-rights-to-2008-olympic-games/">way back in 2005</a>, will be publishing the official game based on the real games to be held in Beijing this year. Creatively titled <em>Beijing 2008: the Official Video Game of the Olympic Games</em>, the game is being developed by Eurocom, who are best known (if you can call it that) for the recent game based on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pirates"><em>Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End</em></a>. It's worth noting that they also developed the <em>Athens 2004</em> Olympics game as well (or maybe <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/search/process?sb=0&amp;tfs=all&amp;ts=athens+2004&amp;ty=0&amp;x=0&amp;y=0">it isn't</a>). Thirty-five events will be recreated for the game along with recreations of many of the real world venues. Strangely, the game apparently offers a simplified control scheme that's easier for casual players to come to grips with. We're not exactly sure how you simplify things like mashing buttons and twirling sticks. Finally, call us crazy, but we're guessing the game will arrive in time for the Olympic Games later this year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/10/sega-eurocom-tapped-for-08-olympics-game/">Sega, Eurocom tapped for 08 Olympics game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Jan 2008 14:15:00 EST.
