"It's definitely not a joy ride," promises this trailer of next year's NASCAR game, courtesy of Eutechnyx and Activision.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/04/nascar-the-game-2011-the-trailer-2010/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NASCAR The Game 2011: The Trailer 2010</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/04/nascar-the-game-2011-the-trailer-2010/">NASCAR The Game 2011: The Trailer 2010</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 04 Oct 2010 17:15:00 EST. Activision is now publishing NASCAR games, after EA's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/04/moore-no-plans-right-now-for-new-nascar-installment/">abandonment</a> of the racing license. As if to rub it in, the first Eutechnyx-developed racer has been named <em><a href="http://www.nascarthegame.com">NASCAR The Game 2011</a></em>. As in "the <em>only</em> game." <a href="http://espn.go.com/espn/thelife/videogames/blog/_/name/thegamer/id/5630221/nascar-revs-video-game-return-eutechnyx">ESPN</a> revealed that Activision is acting as a distributor for the title, and the licensing deal is between NASCAR and Eutechnyx directly. <br />
<br />
"[NASCAR] really got excited about this because this isn't some big publisher using some anonymous external developer," Eutechnyx's North American EVP Ed Martin told ESPN. "We are out there with these guys. We are working with not only NASCAR, but the drivers and the R&amp;D center and the engine builders and everyone is really excited about the fact that we are right there with them. Eutechnyx owns the license, we're developing the game, and it's a dynamic partnership with Activision. They've been great to work with."<br />
<br />
NASCAR The Game 2011 will be in stores in February 2011, for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nascar-the-game-2011/">NASCAR The Game 2011</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nascar-the-game-2011/#3420101"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/nascar9301101_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nascar-the-game-2011/#3420102"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/nascar9301102_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nascar-the-game-2011/#3420103"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/nascar9301103_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nascar-the-game-2011/#3420104"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/nascar9301104_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nascar-the-game-2011/#3420105"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/nascar9301105_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/30/activision-and-eutechnyx-making-nascar-the-game-2011/">Activision and Eutechnyx making NASCAR The Game 2011</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 30 Sep 2010 10:20:00 EST. If EA's cancellation of its series of <em>NASCAR</em> games has left your need -- your need for <em>speed</em> -- unsatisfied, you'll want to wish on all your lucky stars that this particular rumor is legit. A since-closed thread on the forums of developer Eutechnyx purportedly includes <a href="http://forums.eutechnyx.com/threads/3055-New-NASCAR-Title-Coming-from-Eutechnyx/page2">a logo and concept art</a> for <em>NASCAR 2011</em>. <a href="http://www.vg247.com/2010/09/22/activision-tipped-for-imminent-nascar-2011-reveal/">VG247 reports</a> that UK sources have confirmed that the title is real and will be published by Activision.<br />
<br />
Eutechnyx's Dave Thompson explained to a stock car enthusiast <a href="http://twitter.com/davet_etx/status/25095110167">on Twitter</a> that "an announcement is being made soon about our plans," so we shouldn't have to wait long to see if this story pans out. In any event, we're going to go watch <em>Days of Thunder</em> and <em>Talladega Nights</em> a few times so we can stock up on references -- if we end up writing about a NASCAR game over the next year, we're going to need <em>something</em> to say.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/23/rumor-activision-gearing-up-for-nascar-game/">Rumor: Activision gearing up for NASCAR game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 Sep 2010 01:00:00 EST. As confirmed by parent company Koch Media to <a href="http://www.develop-online.net/news/33773/Koch-closes-Deep-Silver-Vienna-studio">Develop</a>, <em>Cursed Mountain</em> developer Deep Silver Vienna has apparently been closed. Citing "the overall economic situation" and noting "this decision is not easy for us," the 20-person staff was recently cut and told they would receive pay through the end of March. Develop posits that the studio's other game -- <em>Ride to Hell</em> -- will likely remain unaffected by the shutdown, as UK dev house <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/eutechnyx">Eutechnyx</a> is handling development and Koch Media's Munich offices will oversee the game's management. <br />
<br />
Deep Silver Vienna was formed in the wake of Rockstar Vienna's closing back in 2006, and originally called itself Games That Matter. Ex-Rockstar Vienna heads Hannes Seifert and Niki Laber launched the studio, and it is said that Siefert has moved on to a position at Square Enix Europe as a creative director. As with every case like this, we'd like to wish those affected the best of luck.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/31/cursed-mountain-dev-deep-silver-vienna-shuttered/">Cursed Mountain dev Deep Silver Vienna shuttered</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 31 Jan 2010 17:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ferrari-challenge"><em>Ferrari Challenge</em></a> will get an update soon, adding five new cars and one new racetrack. The DLC, which hits PAL territories this May (while a North American date remains pending), gives players a chance to hop into a 430 Scuderia, 599 GTB Fiorano, 612 Scaglietti Sessanta, 330 P4, and an Enzo Ferrari (pictured). Gamers can drive any one of these new cars and take it for a spin on the new N&uuml;rburgring track.<br /> <br />Previous reports suggested that <em>Ferrari Challenge's</em> DLC had <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/08/licensing-issues-halt-ferrari-challenge-dlc-plans/">been cancelled</a>, but with this new announcement in place, it looks like that's not the case anymore. With the downloadable content now confirmed, only one question is left unanswered: Is it free? System 3 hasn't said. We suppose we'll know more when a specific date is revealed.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/30/ferrari-challenge-dlc-takes-race-to-nurburgring-adds-five-more/">Ferrari Challenge DLC takes race to Nurburgring, adds five more cars</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 30 Mar 2009 17:15:00 EST. <div align="left">System 3 has just announced a sequel to the largely-overlooked racing game <em>Ferrari Challenge</em> for the PS3. Titled <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/supercar-challenge"><em>SuperCar Challenge</em></a>, the new game will feature 40 vehicles, three difficulty settings (Assist, Arcade and Simulation), a tweaked career mode that's supposedly "more engaging," a retooled A.I. that will be more "adaptive," improved graphics and better sound effects. <a href="http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/937/937603p1.html">IGN</a>'s impressions indicate a "solid foundation" and they look forward to when the game is released "this Spring." The question is, are you willing to give Eutechnyx another chance?</div>

A 1960s focused biker game that is "aimed heavily at the player who wants to become fully involved in the original West Coast biker culture" and promises a "hard drinking, bare-knuckle environment, this is as close to the action as you can get." Sounds perfect for the youngings. <em>Ride to Hell </em>will release to the Xbox 360 platform sometime during the second quarter of 2009.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/10/ride-to-hell-a-game-with-plenty-of-bikers-and-booze/">Ride to Hell: A game with plenty of bikers and booze</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Jul 2008 15:15:00 EST. UK-based System 3 is out to fill the rather large racing simulation void on PS3 with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/05/activision-system-3-take-the-ferrari-challenge/"><em>Ferrari Challenge</em></a>, a game the company is calling a spiritual successor to the Sega great, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_F355_Challenge"><em>Ferrari F355 Challenge</em></a>. It's also aimed directly at fans of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gran-turismo"><em>Gran Turismo</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/grid"><em>GRID</em></a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pgr"><em>Project Gotham Racing</em></a>.<br /><br />With its release set for next month exclusively on PS3 - as far as HD consoles go - we recently put <em>Ferrari Challenge</em> through its paces, while getting some background on what sets the game apart from other current-gen racers (apart from the fact that all of the cars are, obviously, Ferraris). Read on after the break to hear our impressions of the sights, sounds, and feel that highlight this high-spec driving sim.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ferrari-challenge-ps3/">Ferrari Challenge (PS3)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ferrari-challenge-ps3/#877182"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/06/vasiliev_06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ferrari-challenge-ps3/#877181"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/06/tucker07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ferrari-challenge-ps3/#877180"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/06/cadei_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ferrari-challenge-ps3/#877179"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/06/333sp-63-tb_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ferrari-challenge-ps3/#877178"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/06/250tr-32_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/23/joystiq-hands-on-ferrari-challenge/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Joystiq hands-on: Ferrari Challenge</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/23/joystiq-hands-on-ferrari-challenge/">Joystiq hands-on: Ferrari Challenge</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 23 Jun 2008 16:45:00 EST.
