The Season Pass will cost $50 USD (or 4,000 Microsoft Points), and grant access to the game's Expansion Pack set to arrive in December.

Season Pass holders will also nab each of the six car packs as they're released over the next year, as well as five exclusive Season Pass vehicles and a batch of launch day rides. Turn 10 will reveal all of these cars gradually on its Twitter feed. The Season Pass (which represents a 17 percent saving on all of this content) will be available for purchase on October 23, right when the game turns the key for launch.

In addition, we've got tracklists for each of the game's three radio stations, all churning out tunes during the in-game "Horizon Festival." Have a look at the songs, after the break.
Continue reading Forza Horizon gets a Season Pass, $50 for access to all DLC

Forza Horizon gets a Season Pass, $50 for access to all DLC originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 25 Sep 2012 21:00:00 EST. This first expansion is available for 400 MS Points ($5) on Xbox 360, and $4.99 on PS3 and iOS.

In addition to the new decks, this expansion adds 10 new campaign levels, five new puzzle challenges, five foil conversions and five deck key add-ons for the expansion decks. There are also some more specific tweaks to individual cards that address certain balance issues, like Serra Ascendant - the card essentially broke Two-Headed Giant games and has had its lifelink ability removed in the mode.
Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 summons first DLC decks originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 20 Sep 2012 08:00:00 EST. There will also be expansion packs, the first of which will launch on December 18.

"What we're really excited about is some expansion packs we have coming, the first of which will launch on December 18th and that will really extend the experience you can have in Forza Horizon," Fulton told Gamerzines. He also confirmed a demo would eventually come to Xbox Live, which seems fitting since it's a Microsoft-published game and also cars.
Forza Horizon post-launch plan includes monthly car packs, first 'expansion pack' on Dec. 18 originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 18 Sep 2012 19:30:00 EST. It appears that The Scorchers are back, as a listing on Europe's PEGI game rating website outs something named "Rage: The Scorchers" for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Siliconera spotted the listing and dated it to less than a week ago. For its part, Bethesda hasn't offered a comment, though we've reached out for more info. Thus far, Rage has zero DLC beyond a day-one "Anarchy Edition" bonus. Ahead of the game's launch last year, id Software's Tim Willits told GamesIndustry.biz, "Our immediate plans, of course, are some DLC for Rage," so it stands to reason that DLC of some form for the game is still planned.
'Rage: The Scorchers' pops up on PEGI, smells like DLC to us originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 19 Jun 2012 13:15:00 EST. While the console versions of Magic: The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers are stuck waiting on that third DLC pack, PC users can now boost their virtual card collection through a Steam update today. The third content pack will set budding planeswalkers back $4.99, for which they get two new decks, a plethora of new cards to unlock, new challenges to conquer and, of course, a new single-player campaign to tackle. If you've checked out either of the previous two DLC packs, then you know this is pretty much par for the course.

There's still no timetable for when the DLC will be available on consoles, though we've contacted both Wizards of the Coast and Stainless Games for comment. In the meanwhile, feel free to tap our gallery below for some magical screens.
Update: We managed to get in touch with both Wizards and Microsoft PR, who acknowledged that the launch of the DLC did give users a few problems. However, the "DLC is now running smoothly," so happy downloading! You can find the original post below.

Original post: It would seem the recent injection of fresh cards into Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalker has had an unintended effect for some players, with the new DLC apparently crashing the game and displaying only a black screen. Users on both the GameFAQs and Wizards of the Coast forums have reported the same issues.

Downloading the Title Update gave us some hiccups -- specifically, we were booted back to the dashboard after downloading it and then were forced to download the entire Magic: The Gathering - Duel of the Planeswalkers game again. But the actual DLC pack itself didn't give us any problems. We even played a game online and tried restarting the title multiple times to repeat the effect to no avail.

Eric Sorensen from Wizards of the Coast's community team is aware of the issue, and WOTC is working with Microsoft to resolve it. We'll let you know when we're all in the clear.
BioWare recently released a handful of videos promoting the upcoming expansion to its humongous RPG Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening. In the first, posted above, we meet dwarven legionnaire Sigrun, tasked with returning to the old fortress of Kal'hirol. There's talking Darkspawn, those merry band of adventurers known as the "Legion of the Dead," and even a cameo from our old friend Oghren.

The additional two videos (which come to us via IGN) are simply B-roll, but that means gameplay footage. You'll get a look at some of the new characters in action and even some vistas of the new environments. We get it, it's not much, but you've got less than a month until this old-school expansion pack (remember those?) slays its way to retailers.
Continue reading Dragon Age Awakening videos: meet Sigrun, ogle B-roll

Dragon Age Awakening videos: meet Sigrun, ogle B-roll originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 19 Feb 2010 11:58:00 EST. BioWare revealed one of the new venues being added for the Dragon Age: Origins expansion Awakening. Kal'hirol was once a dwarven keep, a center of learning and culture for dwarf society. At some point, however, the dwarves were driven out.

BioWare won't say what horror resulted in "the fortress's elite one day [showing] up at Orzammar's great doors, exhausted and in despair over the loss of their home," but we have a theory: a Subway opened up next door, and the dwarves couldn't stand its constant weird baking-bread smell. Either that or some kind of monsters. You can scour our new gallery for any evidence of $5 footlongs.
In a recent interview with CVG, BioWare producer Adrien Cho assured that the plan isn't to jettison Mass Effect 2 into the deep, dark retail space without some form of continued support. According to Cho, some of the core development team has already moved on to creating DLC for the game, which could range from new items, including weapons and armor, to side quests that might even build "up to full expansion packs." Cho added that the team has more flexibility to create DLC for the sequel than it did for the first game, explaining that add-on content "was always on our radar from day one."

It sounds like BioWare has big plans for Mass Effect 2 DLC. That is, it sounds like the plans are a bit more sophisticated than the original Mass Effect's DLC strategy: "release completely broken, partially inaccessible DLC without telling anybody about its existence."
BioWare: Mass Effect 2 DLC could include 'full expansion packs' originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 18 Dec 2009 12:45:00 EST. From the initial talk of a lower price to a renaming, Bungie's ever-changing plans for Halo 3: ODST left a lot of people confused as to what the final product would be. "I'm no PR expert, but it's pretty obvious the game had a series of stumbles; from the naming, to the initial E3 2008 countdown reveal failure, and finally pricing ... it would definitely be nice to have a do-over for the game introduction," senior designer Lars Bakken told G4TV in a recent interview. "The big takeaway for us is just to never comment on matters that are outside of our control," added community manager Brian Jarrard.

The subject of ODST becoming an "expansion pack," however, was never an arguable point to executive producer Curtis Creamer. "Though ODST was built from the Halo 3 engine, there were enough changes made to the engine that we could not have released it as an expansion in the way that you might equate with a PC game expansion pack ... the ODST executable is not compatible with Halo 3."

The crew of Bungie devs also reconfirmed that "there are currently no plans for any ODST DLC," with all of the studio's resources tied up with Halo: Reach. Hopefully, our thirst for more Firefight maps will be quenched by the inclusion of the mode in future Halo games -- a prospect to which the developers responded, "Only time will tell." Do it for us, Bungie! Please?
BioWare is planning DLC for Dragon Age Origins to stretch out over the next two years. TheGameReviews spoke with executive producer Mark Darrah, who said the DLC will include small things like "item packs," as well as "larger quests that might last an hour or two, up to even fully fledged expansion packs."

Darrah expects that the DLC will make it onto all platforms, except for the mods toolset, which will likely be PC-only. We'll maintain cautious optimism about Dragon Age DLC until BioWare brings the goods to market. The developer is lucky that Mass Effect took place in space, because the lack of DLC (support and testing) certainly made us want to scream.

Two years of Dragon Age DLC planned; expansion packs considered originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 13 Oct 2009 09:27:00 EST.
If you've been looking for an excuse to tend to your long-neglected digital pipe-weed garden, you'll have it on Nov. 18 when Lord of the Rings Online expansion The Mines of Moria arrives on shelves or on your hard drive. In addition to the titular mines, the pack also includes two new classes, ten more levels and a swan boat full of new quests.

Just how the $39.99 expansion will make its way to your computer is up to you. There's an early digital upgrade and two different retail SKUs, each with their own perks and bonuses, all of which you can read about right here.

While we didn't get past the demo of the XBLA title, Capcom decided it was popular enough to warrant an expansion pack. The pack will add new weapons and levels to the game and will run gamers 400 MS Points when it releases on May 14.

Rocketmen: It Came from Uranus - New screens and concept art we hope came from the studio originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 05 May 2008 18:15:00 EST.
