Following May's <em>Anchorage </em>and<em> The Pitt</em> combo-pack, Bethesda has confirmed with Joystiq that the second <em>Fallout 3</em> DLC <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/19/fallout-3-dlc-coming-to-ps3-beginning-late-june-two-new-multipl/">retail pack</a> featuring <em>Broken Steel</em> and <em>Point Lookout</em> will hit store shelves on August 25 for $20 on both Xbox 360 and PC. You'll need Mothership Zeta - the fifth and "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/31/mothership-zeta-is-final-fallout-3-dlc/">final</a>" piece of <em>Fallout 3</em> DLC - to round out your DLC collection. It's currently available for $10.<br />
<br />
If you're late to the <em>Fallout 3</em> bus, you may want to consider holding off until October when you can pick up the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/19/fallout-3-dlc-coming-to-ps3-beginning-late-june-two-new-multipl/">previously announced</a> <em>Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition</em> which bundles the game with all five DLC packs. It's currently listed for $59.99 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 releases, and $49.99 for PC with an October 13th release date on both <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/ref=br_ss_hs/002-6940686-1537663?field-keywords=fallout%203%20game%20of%20the%20year&amp;platform=gurupa&amp;url=index%3Dblended">Amazon</a> and <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/browse/search.aspx?N=0&amp;Ntk=TitleKeyword&amp;Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&amp;Ntt=%20%09%20%09Fallout%203%20Game%20Of%20The%20Year">GameStop</a>. Unfortunately, Bethesda's not ready to talk about it until that last DLC pack is out the door so consider those prices and that date boring 'ol retailer placeholders.<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/11/2nd-fallout-3-dlc-pack-at-retail-aug-25-goty-edition-listed-fo/">2nd Fallout 3 DLC pack at retail Aug. 25; GOTY edition listed for Oct. 13</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Aug 2009 17:01:00 EST. <div align="left">For the uninitiated<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fallout-3"></a>, <em>Operation: Anchorage</em> sees players on a VR mission to infiltrate an Alaskan military installation, with a heavier emphasis on being stealthy than the main game. Yes, what we've just described could very well be the premise of the original <em>Metal Gear Solid</em>, but this is <em>Fallout 3</em>, right? Well, not exactly as you know it.<br /><br /><em>Operation: Anchorage </em>is a 4-5 hour campaign (we got through it a bit quicker) that calls the game's FPS element into play more than we'd anticipated. In fact, the scenario is a linear one in the vein of <em>Call of Duty</em> and is <em>very </em>focused on action. Sure, the trademark V.A.T.S. targeting system is still present, but, most of the time, we found ourselves playing in a purely run-and-gun mindset. Still, there's a depth of story and uncanny attention to detail that very much manages to keep this DLC rooted in the <em>Fallout universe.</em></div>

<a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/fallout-3"><em>Fallout 3</em></a>'s <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/operation-anchorage"><em>Operation Anchorage</em></a> DLC is now available to scav from the Xbox Live Marketplace for 800<img border="0" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($10, 50 caps or 100 pieces of scrap metal). The VR mission takes place in the land of Palin, as a force attempts to liberate Anchorage from the Chinese. Once downloaded, keep an eye out for the "Outcast Distress Signal" to find the new content.<br /><br />If you're sitting on the fence about the purchase, bear in mind that we'll have a review available later this week. And don't forget, the next couple of months will feature two more DLC packs for the post-apocalyptic adventure. The big change arrives in March with <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/08/fallout-3-new-operation-anchorage-screens-broken-steel-lev/">Broken Steel</a></em>, which will increase the game's level cap and get rid of that pesky (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/26/bethesda-no-plans-to-patch-fallout-3s-ps3-ending-for-end-game/">abrupt</a>?) ending.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/">Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/#1219867"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/12/chimera_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/#1219868"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/12/pipe_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/#1219869"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/12/guns_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/#1219870"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/12/tent_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/#1219871"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/12/gauss_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/27/fallout-3s-operation-anchorage-available-now/">Fallout 3's Operation Anchorage available now</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 27 Jan 2009 08:10:00 EST. Feeling like a feral ghoul? Buck up, because Bethesda has dropped a mini-nuke's worth of screens from its first <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fallout-3"><em>Fallout 3</em></a> downloadable episode, <em>Operation Anchorage</em>. As we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/11/bethesda-unveils-first-fallout-3-dlc-will-lift-level-cap/">reported yesterday</a>, the DLC is a virtual reenactment of the US offensive against Chinese forces in Alaska from <em>Fallout </em>lore. <br /><br />What can we tell from these shots? Well, for one, <em>Metal Gear Solid 3's </em>Shagohod is in there. (Okay, just a sort-of-look-alike.) Oh, and there's a new weapon, the Gauss Rifle. Neat! Also: a guy looking at a map and - could it be? - an <em>oil pipeline</em>. Dear heavens. Sadly, there's still no official word on when we'll be able to get all cold and frisky in pre-Brotherhood of Steel power armor.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/">Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/#1219867"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/12/chimera_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/#1219868"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/12/pipe_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/#1219869"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/12/guns_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/#1219870"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/12/tent_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-operation-anchorage-1/#1219871"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/12/gauss_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/12/take-a-look-at-fallout-3s-operation-anchorage-dlc/">Take a look at Fallout 3's 'Operation Anchorage' DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Dec 2008 17:22:00 EST.
