It would seem they're teaming up with Nintendo to suggest your mom get some good old <em>Brain Training</em> in. And buy some flowers, of course.<br /><br />For 199 Euros, customers can get a nice floral arrangement with a DS Lite and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/brain-training"><em>Brain Training</em></a>. Sadly, we have no idea what DS Lite model consumers will be getting in this bundle.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/06/germany-give-mom-some-smarts-this-mothers-day/">Germany: Give Mom some smarts this Mother's Day</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 06 May 2008 14:15:00 EST. Flowers are a great way of saying "I love you." Or is it, "I want you to stay exclusive to my console platform." The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/24/kojima-walks-us-through-mgs4-gameplay/"><em>Metal Gear Solid</em> 20th Anniversary</a> event was littered with gifts from Sony. There were these beautiful flowers from Kaz Hirai (pictured, left). In addition, Sony baked a cake for the event (pictured, right).<br /><br />As <a href="http://kotaku.com/gaming/believe/ten-real-reasons-why-mgs4-is-ps3-only-282093.php">Kotaku</a> points out, there's a lot of Sony love with <em>Metal Gear Solid</em>. Let's not forget that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/10/columbia-pictures-acquiring-metal-gear-movie-rights-ghost-rider/"><em>Metal Gear</em></a> movie that's supposedly being handled by Sony. Or the new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/24/konami-announces-metal-gear-solid-for-mobile-phones/"><em>Metal Gear</em> phone</a>, also designed by Sony. With all of these slight nudges in Sony's favor, why was there any doubt that the game would launch as a PS3 exclusive?<br /><br />[Thanks, Jay86!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/25/sony-sends-flowers-and-cake-to-mgs-event/">Sony sends flowers and cake to MGS event</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 25 Jul 2007 13:00:00 EST. Better get a DS now if you don't have one, because when <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ragnarok_Online">Ragnarok Online</a> </em>comes out, all DS shipments will by necessity be diverted to Korea. <em>Ragnarok</em>, for those of you lucky enough to avoid the onset of MMO addiction, is a hugely popular Korean MMO known for its adorable 2D sprites and <a href="http://www.ncsx.com/2005/ncs121205/ragnarok_poring_mouse.htm">mascot characters</a> (at least, that's what we know it for.) Like <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/09/maple-story-headed-to-the-ds/">Maple</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/05/shaky-cam-video-of-maple-story-ds/">Story</a>, </em>we have no idea if this will actually be a DS version of the real game, or if it'll be a smaller-scale online game, or even online at all. <br /><br />In the same press release, publisher Gungho Online Entertainment announced an aquarium simulator and a flower-arranging game. That's pretty great too.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/2007/07/04/103,1183528276,74496,0,0.html">Famitsu</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/04/ragnarok-online-announced-for-ds/">Ragnarok Online announced for DS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 04 Jul 2007 16:15:00 EST. It appears that rather than attempting to appeal the ESRB's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/19/manhunt-2-rated-ao-by-esrb/">AO rating</a>, Rockstar has decided to lose some of the violent content from <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Manhunt2/">Manhunt 2</a></em>. In fact, they've gotten it all the way down to E. In our opinion, the changes seem to be for the better. <br /><br />We play games about killing dudes <em>all the time.</em> But when was the last time you played a game where, using the Nintendo Wii's innovative motion controller, you held someone down and forced them to take an adorable puppy? <em>Never,</em> that's when. <em>This </em>is the kind of thing we want to play-- creepily-intense-niceness simulators. Put us down for one copy.<br /><br />... yeah, we know. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/levelup/archive/2007/07/03/top-six-gaming-tidbits-for-july-3rd-2007.aspx">Level Up</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/03/manhunt-2-looks-a-lot-more-fun-since-the-esrb-incident/">Manhunt 2 looks a lot more fun since the ESRB incident</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Jul 2007 17:25:00 EST. The problem with nongames is that it's impossible to build hype for something that is used <em>just</em> for looking at a map of France, or teaching yourself <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/yoga">yoga</a>, even if the software in question is extremely well-designed.<br /><br />These screens answer the biggest question we had about the series: how could a game about <em>listening to classical music</em> possibly fill two screens meaningfully? The answer: dog animations and quizzing you on your feelings about the music.<br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/06/ds-style-details-emerge-screenshot-style/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>DS Style details emerge-- screenshot-style</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/06/ds-style-details-emerge-screenshot-style/">DS Style details emerge-- screenshot-style</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Apr 2007 13:00:00 EST. According to the latest issue of Famitsu, the company is venturing away from its RPG franchises for a moment, focusing instead on leisure activities like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/yoga">yoga</a>, classical music, and gardening. It might not sound as exciting as SRPG battles or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/chocobo">Chocobo</a> mini-games, but different strokes for different folks.<br /><br />Square Enix will also be releasing DS travel guides based on the popular <span style="font-style: italic;">World Walking</span> tour book series in Japan. These guides will provide maps and other useful information for sightseers visiting countries like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/france">France</a> or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/thailand">Thailand</a>. Check past the post break for the full list of destination guides and verbose titles from Square Enix's <span style="font-style: italic;">DS Style</span> lineup. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5991365&amp;postcount=1">NeoGAF</a>]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/04/square-enix-brings-lifestyle-titles-to-ds/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Square Enix brings lifestyle titles to DS</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/04/square-enix-brings-lifestyle-titles-to-ds/">Square Enix brings lifestyle titles to DS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 04 Apr 2007 12:00:00 EST.
