If your home is already full to bursting with Mario paraphernalia, you'll be delighted to learn that you can exchange your Club Nintendo Coins for downloadable games. Nintendo is featuring a rotating selection of WiiWare, Virtual Console, DSiWare, and eShop downloads offered on the North American Club Nintendo site.<br />
<br />
Through January 10, your choices include <em>Super Mario Kart </em>(100 Coins), <em>3D Classics: Xevious</em> (100 Coins), <em>Fluidity</em> (150 Coins), and <em>Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again </em>(150 Coins). In a way, this is really cheap as it trades illusory fun money for games -- but in another way, it's outrageously expensive as said fun money is only acquired through the for-real purchase of multiple games.<br />
<br />
Those of you with more space for swag have new reward options as well: three different, <a href="https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/23002.do">adorable</a> <a href="https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/22510.do">Mario</a> <a href="https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/23004.do">notebooks</a>, and a <a href="https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/22517.do">Zelda poster set</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/15/now-you-can-exchange-club-nintendo-coins-for-games/">Now you can exchange Club Nintendo Coins for games</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 15 Dec 2011 11:00:00 EST. This is framed as taking place entirely within the "Aquaticus," a sort of magical, living encyclopedia about water.<br />
<br />
Design director Jonathan Biddle explained the evolution of the concept to Joystiq. "Early on, we were pursuing a more scientific presentational style that focused on teaching the science of water," he said. "We liked the idea that the game was an interactive school book from the future that taught you by letting you play it. As the game dropped its scientific slant, we retained the book presentation - since we still thought it was fresh - but took it in a much more colorful direction." That direction now involves guiding a small amount of water through the landscape of the book, picking up "Rainbow Drops" and clearing away the evil Influence -- an ink spill. <br />

We're talking, of course, about <em>Fireplacing</em> (formerly <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/06/get-stoked-for-my-fireplace-on-wii/">My Fireplace</a></em>). Oh, also, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fluidity">Fluidity</a></em> is out. If you download them together, will they cancel each other out?<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, on Virtual Console, Capcom surprises us with a pair of games that weren't supposed to be out until <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/08/capcom-arcade-classics-confirmed-for-north-american-release-in-2/">next year</a>!<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-12-6-10/">Fluidity (12/6/10)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-12-6-10/#3640370"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/i26663_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-12-6-10/#3640372"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/i26664_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-12-6-10/#3640373"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/i26665_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-12-6-10/#3640375"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/i26666_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-12-6-10/#3640376"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/i26667_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fireplacing-wiiware/">Fireplacing (WiiWare)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fireplacing-wiiware/#3640358"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/i26679_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fireplacing-wiiware/#3640360"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/i26680_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fireplacing-wiiware/#3640361"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/i26681_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fireplacing-wiiware/#3640362"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/i26682_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fireplacing-wiiware/#3640363"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/i26683_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/06/nintendoware-weekly-fluidity-commando-sonson/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Fluidity, Commando, SonSon</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/06/nintendoware-weekly-fluidity-commando-sonson/">NintendoWare Weekly: Fluidity, Commando, SonSon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 Dec 2010 10:00:00 EST. In a somewhat inconvenient science lesson, Nintendo has posted three different trailers across the web, each representing a different state of water in the upcoming tilt-em-up, <em>Fluidity</em>. We've got all three for you -- like having a glass of water, with ice, in a sauna.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/03/just-look-at-the-state-of-these-fluidity-trailers/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Just look at the state of these Fluidity trailers</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/03/just-look-at-the-state-of-these-fluidity-trailers/">Just look at the state of these Fluidity trailers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 Dec 2010 18:40:00 EST. <br />
First revealed at this year's PAX, <em>Fluidity</em> is a side-scrolling game in which players tilt the Wii Remote to move water through various obstacles, gaining the ability to freeze or boil the water when necessary. While a game like this may not really need a story (do you really need to motivate some water?) Nintendo revealed one in its announcement today:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8"><em>Fluidity</em> is set within an encyclopedia called "Aquaticus," which is apparently under attack from the evil "Influence." Okay, it's not a <em>lot</em> of story.<br />
<br />
To learn more about how <em>Fluidity</em> works, you'll find a 'How to Play" trailer after the break.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/">Fluidity (WiiWare)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330812"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25206_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330813"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25207_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330814"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25208_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330815"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25209_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330816"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25210_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></meta><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/23/fluidity-trickles-down-to-wiiware-on-dec-6/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fluidity trickles down to WiiWare on Dec. 6</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/23/fluidity-trickles-down-to-wiiware-on-dec-6/">Fluidity trickles down to WiiWare on Dec. 6</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 23 Nov 2010 10:35:00 EST. </center><em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/fluidity">Fluidity</a></em>, the new WiiWare game Nintendo is showing off at PAX, looks a lot more interesting than you'd expect from a game about tilting containers to let water flow. For one thing, the containers in question are whole rooms set inside a comic book, filled with puzzles that require you to squirt, freeze, melt or otherwise manipulate water to complete them. For another, the water animation is <em>mesmerizingly</em> pretty.<br />
<br />
PAX attendees have the opportunity to swish around in <em>Fluidity</em> for themselves, but the rest of us will have to be content with the trailer after the break and the screens in our gallery.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/">Fluidity (WiiWare)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330812"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25206_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330813"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25207_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330814"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25208_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330815"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25209_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330816"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25210_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/03/nintendo-opens-the-floodgates-on-fluidity-media/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Nintendo opens the floodgates on Fluidity media</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/03/nintendo-opens-the-floodgates-on-fluidity-media/">Nintendo opens the floodgates on Fluidity media</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 Sep 2010 23:00:00 EST. Next week's <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/metroid-other-m">Metroid: Other M</a></em> will also be on display. Nintendo will also show a new WiiWare game, <em>Fluidity</em>, for the first time. The game involves "using the three forms of water -- liquid, ice, and cloud" to solve puzzles.<br />
<br />
Be sure to bring your DS as well, as Nintendo will be distributing a new <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dragon-quest-ix">Dragon Quest IX</a></em> map, "Orgodemir." If you're anything like us (which is to say hopeless), the rest of the convention will be spent trying to complete said map. Go sit on one of those bean bags and find some pals for multiplayer questing!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/26/nintendo-bringing-fall-lineup-new-wiiware-game-to-pax/">Nintendo bringing fall lineup, new WiiWare game to PAX</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 26 Aug 2010 22:00:00 EST.
