If you can find it in your heart to forgive us, we're sure that the video above will tickle your fancy for gaming peripheral-themed furniture. We're not sure how much we'd pay for a custom-built, gigantic, functioning Nintendo Entertainment System controller (or a boxed copy of Super Mario Bros. 3, for that matter) that doubles for a coffee table with a removable glass overlay, but we could be convinced to skip a few months' rent should this epic furnitroller show up at our local Targét. Our landlord would certainly forgive us when we invite him over for an exhilarating round of comically oversized Bible Adventures.

Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Build your own Tetris shelves, budget version

Filed under: Culture, Retro, Fashion, Casual

We've told you about Tetris shelves before ... but to get the configuration in that post, it'll run you about $7000. Ouch. Definitely not cheap, although they sure look pretty cool.

If you want to do it yourself and save all that dough to buy things to actually put in the shelves, then what you need is an instructable that shows you the know-how. Although we mentioned these recently in a post about Tetris ice cubes (so cool ... get it?), we felt they deserved a spot of their own to give you all a summer project to work on.

If any Joystiq readers are ambitious enough to build these (and how about some color shelves too, eh?) then be sure to take photos and let us know about it.

Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Tetris furniture

Filed under: Culture, Puzzle, Peripherals, Fashion

Ordinarily when shopping from a kids' catalogue, one has the children in mind. But when it comes to Play+Soft's seemingly Tetris-inspired furniture, we suspect the order might be diverted to dad's "office."

[Via Wonderland]

Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

E3: Free furniture for fastest reader [update 1]

Thanks to the folks at the Microsoft blogger bus, we've an unusual E3 swag giveaway. The first reader to come to the bus -- parked outside the West Hall -- can take away this collection of garden furniture. Simply come along and mention Joystiq to get your very own beige chair, table, or the entire lot; good luck fitting that in your suitcase.

Note: the bus will only be here for a few hours, so get here quick!

Update: This lucky guy from Fatal1ity's booth ended up scoring a few pieces of furniture, plus a load of free food too.
