We don't know when it's coming out, but the Xbox One is available for pre-order at European retailers <a href="http://www.game.co.uk/en/xbox-one-console-deposit-228387?cm_sp=xboxnews-_-dealSpots-_-XboxOneUpdated">Game</a> and <a href="http://www.zavvi.com/shops/xbox.list?s=xbox+one">Zavvi</a>. It's also up for "pre-order notifications" on <a href="http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CMQTVK0?tag=-10-15-20">Amazon</a>, the <a href="http://xbox.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbpage.XboxAnnounce?siteID=te1Fq2FCseg-bBLE5Q5NqqYhGQJzAfTeCg">Microsoft Store</a>, <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/xboxone">GameStop</a> and <a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Video-Games/Xbox-One/pcmcat300300050002.c?id=pcmcat300300050002&amp;searchresults=1&amp;searchterm=xbox+one">Best Buy</a>. Best Buy's ad lists the Xbox One with a "holiday 2013" release window, though all we know officially is that it's coming "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/21/xbox-one-coming-later-this-year/">later this year</a>."<br />
<br />
Game lists a pre-order holding price of &pound;20 for the Xbox One, while Zavvi's pre-order down payment is &pound;400. Zavvi also has a lineup of Xbox One games for &pound;50, including <em>Call of Duty: Ghosts </em>and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/21/ea-sports-next-gen-ignite-engine-shown-off-in-trailer-form/">four EA Sports games</a>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/21/xbox-one-pre-orders-info-lists-live-via-game-amazon-microsoft/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Xbox One pre-orders, info lists live via Game, Amazon, Microsoft Store</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/21/xbox-one-pre-orders-info-lists-live-via-game-amazon-microsoft/">Xbox One pre-orders, info lists live via Game, Amazon, Microsoft Store</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 May 2013 19:15:00 EST. EA has published <a href="http://www.frostbite.com/">a website for its Frostbite graphical engine</a>, and <a href="http://www.frostbite.com/about/history/">text on the website mentions</a> the existence of a project called Frostbite Go, which EA describes as "a mobile division empowering EA game developers with Frostbite's proven excellent workflows and features to bring true Frostbite experiences to all major mobile platforms." In other words, the company is putting together the technology to run Frostbite on platforms such as iOS and Android.<br />
<br />
The blurb doesn't say which version of Frostbite the mobile engine will be based on, but given that Frostbite 3 is the new hotness around EA, it's a fair guess that the company is adapting the latest and greatest for Frostbite Go. We're supposed to see Frostbite 3 games arrive later on this year (with <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/battlefield-4"><em>Battlefield 4</em></a> being the first of these), so odds are that any Frostbite Go-created products should hit the market at that same time.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/14/ea-developing-frostbite-go-mobile-game-engine-for-ios-and-androi/">EA developing Frostbite Go mobile game engine for iOS and Android</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 14 May 2013 22:45:00 EST. <br />
By now, you should realize that the latest <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/rayman-legends"><em>Rayman Legends</em></a> trailer needs no introduction. You should just watch it. Okay, if you really need further incentive, the spies of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/splinter-cell-blacklist">4th Echelon</a> make a cameo. Sort of.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, Ubisoft has also announced the UK pre-order bonuses for the game, exclusive to GAME. The Wii U version will let Barbara the barbarian dress up as Aveline De Grandpr&eacute;, star of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/assassins-creed-3-liberation"><em>Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation</em></a>. The PS3 version puts Rayman in the garb of Edward Kenway, piratical protagonist of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/assassins-creed-4-black-flag"><em>Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag</em></a>. Finally, speaking of 4th Echelon, the Xbox 360 version gives Rayman a Sam Fisher costume.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update: </strong>It's the same deal for US pre-orders, but at GameStop. Check out the various costumes after the break. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rayman-legends-ocean-world/">Rayman Legends (Ocean World)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rayman-legends-ocean-world/#5878804"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rl20000lumsunderthemissileattack_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rayman-legends-ocean-world/#5878805"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rl20000lumsunderthesea_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rayman-legends-ocean-world/#5878806"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rl20000lumsunderthesealaserattack_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rayman-legends-ocean-world/#5878807"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rl20000lumsundertheseashark_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/14/rayman-legends-visits-ocean-world-uk-pre-order-goodies-reveal/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rayman Legends visits 'Ocean World,' UK pre-order goodies revealed [update: NA too]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/14/rayman-legends-visits-ocean-world-uk-pre-order-goodies-reveal/">Rayman Legends visits 'Ocean World,' UK pre-order goodies revealed [update: NA too]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 14 May 2013 12:15:00 EST. AccessAble Games has announced <a href="http://startsomegood.com/mycarnival">a new campaign to raise funds</a> for a free video game designed to help children with cystic fibrosis learn how to perform their breathing exercises correctly. Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that requires daily physiotherapy training, and while experts say there are some tools out there to teach affected children already, they're not as helpful and entertaining as they could be.<br />
<br />
Enter <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/my-carnival"><em>My Carnival</em></a>, which will use a standard PC mic to track a child's breathing in and out, and can be adjusted depending on the child's ability. Once the breathing is tracked, <em>My Carnival</em> then translates that into playing games at an busy carnival, having the player do things like fill a balloon with a water stream.<br />
<br />
You can <a href="http://startsomegood.com/mycarnival">contribute to the project</a> right now. AccessAble's "tipping point" budget of $29,000 would cover just four minigames, but the full budget of $40,000, if raised, would provide for eight minigames total. Currently, the team has only raised just over $1,000 with 23 days left in the effort.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/08/crowdfunded-my-carnival-is-a-video-game-designed-to-help-child/">Crowdfunded 'My Carnival' is a video game designed to help children with cystic fibrosis</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 08 May 2013 21:00:00 EST. The tickets - which will likely sell out quickly - are priced at $175, and include a swag bag and admittance to the two day event beginning November 8.<br /><br />Tickets are on sale on from the official <a href="http://www.blizzcon.com/">BlizzCon site</a>.<br /><br />If you don't get tickets today, there's two more chances to do so. This Saturday, April 27, a second round of ticket sales will begin at 10am Pacific, and when that's done, all of the regular admission tickets will be gone. Your last chance, then, will be on May 1 at 7pm Pacific, when Blizzard will sell 200 tickets at $500 a piece for the Blizzcon Benefit Dinner, which includes full admission to the show and a charity event.<br /><br /><strong>Update: </strong>29 minutes later, the first round of tickets is sold out. After the game's launch in January of 2012 and some major sales with Steam and the Humble Bundle, <em>Dustforce</em> has earned a total of $668,490 in revenue.<br /><br />That may sound profitable, but that's before taxes, Valve's take, and other fees are removed, which brings the total down to $489,404. Removing various software and hardware costs, accounting fees, and other expenses lowers it even further to $295,000, says Hitbox. In the end, for every $10 copy of the game sold, Hitbox earned $4.41 - which the studio's (now four) developers must split.<br /><br /><em>Dustforce</em> began with a $0 budget, as a game prototype made with GameMaker. After an IndiePub competition win, Hitbox was able to budget the $100,000 prize for the game's development, which it says was enough to support the staff of three for about a year and a half.<br /><br /><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 12pt;">Hitbox's Terence Lee says the release was ultimately worth it. The game's success and "the pleasure of making </span><em style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 12pt;">Dustforce</em><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 12pt;"> was worth far more than the opportunity cost of working somewhere else." Wilson said that before Blizzard launched the game, the company had a few assumptions about how the Auction Houses would work: He thought they would help reduce fraud, that they'd provide a wanted service to players, that only a small percentage of players would use it and that the price of items would limit how many were listed and sold.<br /><br />But he said that once the game went live, Blizzard realized it was completely wrong about those last two points. It turns out that nearly every one of the game's players (of which there are still about 1 million per day, and about 3 million per month, according to Wilson) made use of either house, and that over 50 percent of players used it regularly. That, said Wilson, made money a much higher motivator than the game's original motivation to simply kill Diablo, and "damaged item rewards" in the game. While a lot of the buzz around the game attacked the real money Auction House, "gold does much more damage than the other one does," according to Wilson, because more players use it and prices fluctuate much more.<br /><br />"I think we would turn it off if we could," Wilson said during his talk. But the problem is "not as easy as that;" with all of Blizzard's current players, he says the company "has no idea" how many players like the system or hate it. Blizzard, Wilson said, doesn't want to remove a feature that lots of players will be unhappy to see go. But he did say that the team is working on a viable solution, without giving any other details about what that would be like.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/28/diablo-3-director-jay-wilson-auction-houses-really-hurt-game/">Diablo 3 Director Jay Wilson: Auction Houses 'really hurt' game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Mar 2013 15:43:00 EST. Games now span spectrums of physical input and emotional amplitude, and our perspectives change with them.<br /><br />Amid this upheaval is an age-old genre that for some reason resists attempts of acceptance in the "hardcore" gaming audience: point-and-click adventures. They're just choose-your-own-adventure stories; they're interactive novels; the choices in them don't matter - all arguments against adventures as true games, while shoot-die-respawn titles play on, unchallenged.<br /><br />Joystiq's own Top 10 of 2012 list includes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/03/joystiq-top-10-of-2012-the-walking-dead/"><em>The Walking Dead</em></a>, a high-profile and famously intense point-and-click, and my own Best of the Rest has <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/01/best-of-the-rest-jess-picks-of-2012/"><em>Yesterday</em></a>, a gritty adventure from Pendulo Studios. Obviously, we consider both of these games to be <em>games</em>. Other players, maybe not so much - so let the argument begin.<br /><br />In order to debate whether adventure games are, in fact, games, we first need a shared definition of the term. Without definition, you could argue that <em>The Walking Dead</em> isn't a game and I could just as passionately espouse why it is, and we could both be correct within the worlds of our own, secret definitions. While mutually assured correctness sounds like a wonderful conclusion, in reality it does nothing to examine the question at hand and leads to huffy frustration, leaving the debate unresolved forever.<br /><br />What we're really arguing is the definition of a "game," rather than any particular sub-genre, which are all just variations of that main theme. This is my definition.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/04/editorial-point-out-the-definition-of-adventure-games-until-it/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Editorial: Point out the definition of adventure games until it clicks</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/04/editorial-point-out-the-definition-of-adventure-games-until-it/">Editorial: Point out the definition of adventure games until it clicks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Jan 2013 11:00:00 EST. A GAME representative informs us that price also includes a copy of <em>The Amazing Spiderman</em> movie. The console, regularly priced at &pound;150, is immediately shedding the pounds during the holiday season.<br /><br />Other deals include <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/asssassins-creed-3">Assassin's Creed 3</a></em> and <em>FIFA 13</em> for &pound;35, along with <em>Forza Horizon</em> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/halo-4">Halo 4 </a></em>for &pound;25.<br /><br />All this pound talk is already making us feel stuffed and the real feasting hasn't even begun.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/24/ps3-12gb-slides-to-125-at-game-in-uk/">PS3 12GB slides to £125 at GAME in UK</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 24 Dec 2012 07:00:00 EST. The inevitable title of this gamified accommodation? The GAME Pad, of course.<br /><br />GAME is only trying out the one Pad at the moment, located at a Stalybridge Suites hotel in London. On top of an en-suite kitchen and king-size bed, the Pad is decked out like a gamer's den, with GAME describing it as the "ultimate gaming experience."<br /><br />There's a Wii U and a PS3 in the lounge area, and an Xbox 360 in the bedroom. Each console is attached to its own 40-inch TV, and comes with the top 10 charting games for that system. With so much gaming to hand, the idea is clearly to make guests feel like they don't have to move from their butt-sized indentations for the entire night. The room is also pre-loaded with snacks, drinks (including booze), and four pizzas, as well as breakfast in the morning. It doesn't come cheap, though, with one night's stay priced at &pound;199 ($320), with multiple nights bookable. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/game-pad/">GAME Pad</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/game-pad/#5484058"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/gamepad1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/game-pad/#5484059"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/gamepad2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/game-pad/#5484075"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/a45a0922web_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/06/uk-retailer-game-invites-londoners-to-stay-at-its-gamified-hotel/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>UK retailer GAME invites Londoners to stay at its gamified hotel suite</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/06/uk-retailer-game-invites-londoners-to-stay-at-its-gamified-hotel/">UK retailer GAME invites Londoners to stay at its gamified hotel suite</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 Dec 2012 18:00:00 EST. Now UK retailer GAME is getting in on it, announcing the arrival of Steam Wallet vouchers in its stores. GAME is carrying codes in &pound;5, &pound;10, &pound;20, and &pound;50 denominations, and offering an additional 33 percent on trade-ins toward said vouchers.<br /><br />Rather than fancy cards, you'll just get a code on a receipt from GAME, which makes us wonder why the denominations are limited. In any case, it'll be easy to clean out your physical collection and clutter up your digital collection at the same time.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/30/game-selling-steam-vouchers-in-uk/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GAME selling Steam vouchers in UK</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/30/game-selling-steam-vouchers-in-uk/">GAME selling Steam vouchers in UK</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 30 Nov 2012 12:15:00 EST. Pictures of what appears to be <a href="http://www.gtagaming.com/news/comments.php?i=2090">a little keychain image viewer have leaked</a>, both revealing that as a pre-order bonus for the game and showing off some locations to be included in Rockstar's latest paean to the West Coast.<br /><br />Looking through the viewfinder on the tiny accessory shows off not only the Zancudo River, but also the Vinewood Hills (a play on Hollywood), the Del Perro Pier (likely Santa Monica's landmark playground), the Vespucci Canals (with a view of downtown), and Grapeseed (a winery area that's likely a tip to California's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napa_County,_California">Napa Valley</a>).<br /><br />Fans have also spotted a poster promoting the game (which you can see after the break below) featuring a woman wearing a Love Fist t-shirt, and a few of the keychain viewers reference an air travel company called "FlyUS", so it appears that <em>GTA</em>'s usual parodic shenanigans are in order. We'll likely hear even more about this one in the next month or so, as Rockstar's promotional machine for the game finally starts kicking into gear.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/01/grand-theft-auto-5-promotional-materials-in-game-locations-leak/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Grand Theft Auto 5 promotional materials, in-game locations leak out</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/01/grand-theft-auto-5-promotional-materials-in-game-locations-leak/">Grand Theft Auto 5 promotional materials, in-game locations leak out</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 01 Nov 2012 18:30:00 EST. You'll be able to spin off some psy-force as <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_Force_(comics)">the Phoenix</a>, embodied by the X-Man Jean Grey, and take command of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veranke">the Skrull queen Veranke</a>, among others. It's not surprising to see a big "Secret Invasion" influence, given <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/04/avengers-battle-for-earth-to-bring-the-pain-this-fall/">the game's initial trailer</a>. See the full list after the break.<br /><br /><em>Avengers: Battle for Earth</em> will have you and your friends jumping around and debating the correct time for clobberin' on November 9. If you want to see some of these heroes throwing down right away, there's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/01/marvel-avengers-battle-for-earth-demo-assembles-on-xbox-live/">a demo available for download</a> in the meantime.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/19/avengers-battle-for-earth-features-favorites-familiar-faces/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Avengers: Battle for Earth features favorites, familiar faces</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/19/avengers-battle-for-earth-features-favorites-familiar-faces/">Avengers: Battle for Earth features favorites, familiar faces</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 19 Oct 2012 02:30:00 EST. The result has the player running around an island in between slower enemy bullets, trying to aim those bullets at other bad guys, all the while collecting gems and power-ups.<br /><br />Sounds fun. There are multiple levels and game modes to unlock as you play the game, which you can open up by collecting more and more gems. <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/rebel"><em>Rebel</em></a> is available right now on any PlayStation Mobile device (including the PS Vita) for $1.99.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/13/unique-shooter-rebel-comes-to-playstation-mobile/">Unique shooter 'Rebel' comes to PlayStation Mobile</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 13 Oct 2012 21:00:00 EST. Today, retailers compete for your gaming dollars with pre-order incentives, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/halo-4"><em>Halo 4</em></a> is the latest to play into that retail shuffle.<br /><br />Depending on the retailer you hitch your Warthog to, you'll snag some very different things: Amazon will offer a golden "web" skin for use in multiplayer and a pair of exclusive emblems, while GameStop will offer the customizable "forest" skin for multiplayer. UK retailer GAME is tossing in the blue circuit armor skin, an arctic weapon skin and six specializations - these are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/15/introducing-halo-4-specializations-multiplayer-sub-classes-wi/">further cosmetic tweaks</a> to help you stand out from the rest of the cybernetic crowd.<br /><br />Other specific UK retailers have their pre-order items listed past the break, like Blockbuster (you guys still have those over there?). And if you're really looking to buy everything with <em>Halo 4</em> printed on it, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/22/halo-4-soundtrack-lands-oct-22-special-edition-runs-75/">soundtrack and special editions</a> are also tempting offers.<br /><br /><em>Halo 4</em> launches on November 6 worldwide, exclusively for the Xbox 360.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/18/halo-4-pre-order-goods-plant-their-flag-in-select-retailers/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Halo 4 pre-order goods plant their flag in select retailers</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/18/halo-4-pre-order-goods-plant-their-flag-in-select-retailers/">Halo 4 pre-order goods plant their flag in select retailers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 Sep 2012 20:00:00 EST. This week during Gamescom, the company released a trailer, as well as a partial track list for the title, which is set to arrive later on this year, exclusively on Sony's newest handheld.<br /><br />You can find the announced track list after the break - it ranges from the gritty Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson, to the groovy <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdAmvB5cn6A">Styles of Beyond</a> and even Mandarin Chinese rapper Shen Yi. That's a positively eclectic selection right there, and <em>Kickbeat</em> will also include a tool for players to create playable tracks from their own music as well. IGN posted <a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/06/27/nuketown-returns-as-black-ops-ii-pre-order-bonus">an image of a poster</a> supposedly from GameStop; another image from GAME shows <a href="http://mp1st.com/2012/06/27/report-black-ops-ii-getting-pre-order-bonus-nuketown-2025-multiplayer-map/">the same pre-order bonus</a>. Nuketown 2025 is apparently a remodeled version of the popular <em>Black Ops </em>map, Nuketown.<br /><br />Each image suggests there will be a "limited edition pack" of <em>Black Ops 2</em>, which we assume is akin to the first pressing limited edition runs we've seen for games like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/17/need-for-speed-hot-pursuit-limited-edition/"><em>Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/28/twisted-metal-includes-twisted-metal-black-download-code/"><em>Twisted Metal</em></a>. Game will close 16 Australian stores immediately and the remaining 15 within a few weeks.<br /><br />In May, Game Australia entered <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/14/game-australia-enters-voluntary-administration/">voluntary administration</a>; it shuttered 60 stores, affecting 264 employees, and cut 17 head office positions. Before any closures, Game had an estimated 500 employees in Australia.<br /><br />"This is a difficult time for employees, and closing the stores was not a decision we made easily," Warwick said of Game Australia's complete closure (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/26/60-game-australia-stores-to-close/">and the ones in May</a>). "Despite exploring available opportunities for continued trading, the ongoing trading performance and absence of viable offers for the purchase of the business has resulted in these closures."<br /><br />Game Australia is running discounts in a final closing-down sale <a href="http://www.game.com.au/">online</a> and in its remaining stores.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/20/game-australia-to-close-all-of-its-stores-in-the-coming-weeks/">Game Australia to close all of its stores in the coming weeks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Jun 2012 01:00:00 EST. Starting today, <a href="http://www.onlive.com/games/featuredgames#&amp;tab=top_games">players will be able to go to OnLive's website</a>, and load up the streaming service without a standalone app. OnLive says the browser service is also very customizable by any publishers or content providers, allowing for free streaming trials of any games on the service, with options to send customers off to buy or preorder the games once they're done playing. The service is very similar to competitor <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/gaikai">Gaikai</a>, and should lower the barrier of entry for customers unwilling to download a separate app: OnLive says it will even work in popular mobile browsers, on smartphones and tablets.<br /><br />OnLive has also introduced a new feature called MultiView, which allows players to watch multiple views of other players' gameplay while playing their own games, as seen above. Because OnLive's streaming technology just sends video and audio, players can watch up to three other screens while their own game is running, without any more speed hits on the local CPU. MultiView is currently in beta, and should see a full release later on this summer.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/05/onlive-coming-to-browsers-smart-tvs-with-more-viewing-capabilit/">OnLive coming to browsers, smart TVs with more viewing capabilities</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 05 Jun 2012 12:15:00 EST. Case in point: after hearing about the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/14/game-australia-enters-voluntary-administration/">issue with Australia's GAME retail chain</a> and how that could affect <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/diablo-iii"><em>Diablo 3</em></a> pre-orders (it would effectively cancel them without refund), Blizzard took to action.<br /><br />On its forums, Blizzard reps explained how Australians affected by the issue could submit their receipt for a GAME <em>Diablo 3</em> pre-order (purchased before May 15, 2012) directly to Blizzard for a refund. That "refund" only goes through after you've purchased the game directly from the official <em>Diablo 3</em> site, as Blizzard's handling refunds via whatever payment method was used for the pre-order. In so many words, after paying for the game twice, Blizzard will refund your original pre-order expenditure with GAME.<br /><br />Blizzard doesn't list the final instruction, perhaps out of kindness, which is to send a <em>sharply worded letter</em> to GAME's Australian reps. More details on how to submit your pre-order receipt to Blizzard will be posted "as soon as possible."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/15/blizzard-offering-refunds-for-au-diablo-3-pre-orders-unserved-by/">Blizzard offering refunds for AU Diablo 3 pre-orders unserved by GAME</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 May 2012 12:30:00 EST. Private investment company OpCapita's Baker Acquisitions Unlimited has purchased Game, bringing it out of administration and saving 3,200 jobs across a remaining 333 stores and administrative positions, Eurogamer reports.<br /><br />Baker will provide Game with "the capital it needs to trade on a normalised basis" and will re-hire a small number of people fired from the Game head office last week. There are no plans to close more stores in the future, Baker said.<br /><br />Game may have been bought for &pound;1, after paying off an &pound;85 million debt to Game's lenders, Eurogamer said.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/01/investment-company-buys-game-halting-closures-firings-bankrup/">Investment company buys Game, halting closures, firings, bankruptcy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 01 Apr 2012 20:00:00 EST. You can see what looks like an in-game screenshot on <a href="http://www.facebook.com/insomniacgames/timeline/story?ut=32&amp;wstart=1167638400&amp;wend=1170316799&amp;hash=10150767146194853&amp;pagefilter=3">the official timeline post</a>, along with <a href="http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150767148929853.474320.91127584852&amp;type=3">some concept art</a>.<br /><br />The blurb says the game was designed to be "the most realistic pinball simulation ever," complete with actual material physics and graphics running at in 60fps at 1080p (as you might have guessed from the title). There was also going to be a "<em>Gran Turismo</em> level of progression," designed to build as much replay value as possible.<br /><br />This, says Insomniac, also explains the whole <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxPZn9KHnu4">(pin)Ballz</a> phenomenon, and the company's fascination with pinball in general. The developer will discuss the abandoned game on a future podcast. As for whether it'll ever return, Insomniac says, "The <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/zen-pinball"><em>Zen Pinball</em></a> games do a fantastic job anyways."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/29/insomniac-reveals-canceled-1080pinball-the-most-realistic-pin/">Insomniac reveals canceled 1080Pinball, 'the most realistic pinball simulation ever'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 Mar 2012 21:00:00 EST.
