If you are, let's say, a <em>person</em>, there's a reasonable chance your PC was ill-equipped to play <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/crysis"><em>Crysis</em></a> when it was first released in 2007. The erstwhile PC gaming benchmark is now officially available via Xbox Live Games on Demand and PlayStation Network. Well, the single-player portion is available anyway, as the console release doesn't include multiplayer.<br />
<br />
For those on the fence, we'll have a <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/deja-review">Deja Review</a> up soon. For everyone else, you can snag <em>most</em> of <em>Crysis</em> for $20.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/04/crysis-suiting-up-on-xbox-live-psn/">Crysis suiting up on Xbox Live, PSN</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 04 Oct 2011 19:30:00 EST. It might not have triggered a technological apoplexy in your PC, but the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/cryengine-3-sdk-available-now-for-free/">malleable</a> CryEngine 3 has granted Crytek access to a wider ranger of platforms -- including Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The original <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/crysis"><em>Crysis</em></a> is cruising to consoles (via PlayStation Network and Xbox Live's Games on Demand service) on October 4 for $20, according to <a href="http://www.ea.com/news/crysis-1-is-coming-to-xbox-live-and-psn">EA</a>'s last announcement.<br />
<br />
The publisher sent out a small batch of screenshots too, which we've appended below. Walk through the tropics and talk through the topics as you scroll down.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/crysis-ps3-360/">Crysis (PS3 / 360)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/crysis-ps3-360/#4479091"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/crysis01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/crysis-ps3-360/#4479092"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/crysis02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/crysis-ps3-360/#4479094"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/crysis03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/crysis-ps3-360/#4479095"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/crysis04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/26/your-console-can-run-crysis-on-oct-4-new-screenshots-attest/">Your console can run Crysis on Oct. 4, new screenshots attest</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Sep 2011 12:02:00 EST. Eager to virtually explore the bizarre world of Agent York in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/deadly-premonition"><em>Deadly Premonition</em></a>, but can't seem to locate a hard copy of the cult hit? Rising Star Games has you covered, as the publisher plans to launch the title digitally through Xbox Live's Games on Demand service next week, on July 5, for an unannounced price -- at least in the UK. We've reached out to <em>DP</em>'s North American publisher, Ignition Entertainment, to see if it's landing Stateside as well.<br />
<br />
So, rather than spending July 5 sweating profusely, how about grabbing a piping hot cup of coffee, turning on the AC, and walking through the doors of perception with us? Don't worry, <em>we'll bring the pie</em>.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update:</strong> The game will cost &pound;14.99/&euro;19.99 in the UK/EU, and Rising Star is only handling distribution in PAL territories. We've yet to hear back from Ignition reps.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/28/deadly-premonition-walking-backwards-to-uk-games-on-demand-next/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Deadly Premonition walking backwards to UK Games on Demand next week</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/28/deadly-premonition-walking-backwards-to-uk-games-on-demand-next/">Deadly Premonition walking backwards to UK Games on Demand next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 28 Jun 2011 22:00:00 EST. Xbox Live's <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/games-on-demand,xbox-live">Games on Demand</a> service gains several new games today. It's going to be a busy month on Xbox Live. Not only is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/gears-of-war-3-beta-bulletstorm-players-in-april-18-gamestop-p/">the Gears of War 3 beta</a> set to drop on April 25 for those who pre-ordered through GameStop (April 18 for those who <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/gears-of-war-3-beta-bulletstorm-players-in-april-18-gamestop-p/">snagged Bulletstorm</a>), there's also a half-month full of XBLA games, Games on Demand titles and deals -- even some slashed prices on Microsoft Game Studios content, like the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/25/halo-reach-noble-map-pack-trailer/"><em>Halo: Reach </em>Noble Map Pack</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/11/alan-wake-the-writer-review/"><em>Alan Wake's</em> The Writer DLC</a>.<br />

<a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2011/03/03/comingsoontothexboxlivemarketplacemarchthird.aspx">Major Nelson</a> has posted highlights from the Xbox Live Marketplace schedule for March. First up, the <em>Dragon Age 2</em> "Black Emporium" DLC -- free to those who purchase <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/12/dragon-age-2-bonus-dlc-opens-the-black-emporium-for-business/">new copies of the game</a> -- will land on March 8 for 800 points ($10). Second, as promised, bonus characters Jill and Shuma Gorath will be available for <em>Marvel vs. Capcom 3</em> on March 15 for 400 points ($5) each.<br />
<br />
In other XBLM happenings, March 7 kicks off a Lara Croft themed "Deal of the Week," which will see <em>Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light</em> knocked down to 600 points ($7.50). <em>Lara Croft</em> DLC will also be discounted by fifty percent. Also, the week of March 14 will see several St. Patrick's Day deals, notably some discounted Green Day DLC (green -- geddit?) and Social Distortion's "Bad Luck" for <em>Rock Band</em>.<br />
<br />
Finally, Xbox Live Silver members can enjoy free Xbox Live Gold this weekend, beginning Friday, March 4 at 12PM ET through Monday, March 7 at 12PM ET. Head past the break for a more complete schedule of releases.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/xblm-in-march-lara-croft-deals-mvc3-and-dragon-age-2-dlc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>XBLM in March: Lara Croft deals, MvC3 and Dragon Age 2 DLC, free Gold weekend</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/xblm-in-march-lara-croft-deals-mvc3-and-dragon-age-2-dlc/">XBLM in March: Lara Croft deals, MvC3 and Dragon Age 2 DLC, free Gold weekend</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Mar 2011 17:40:00 EST. Let's just start this post by advising readers not to purchase <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/modern-warfare-2">Modern Warfare 2</a></em> via Xbox Live Games on Demand. The game was just added to the service and currently commands a price of <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Modern-Warfare-2/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80241560817?cid=SLink&amp;DownloadType=Game#LiveZone">$60</a>. Please, if you must purchase Modern Warfare 2, buy it elsewhere -- like, literally <em>anywhere</em> else. You'll save some money.<br />
<br />
Now, with that out of the way, two other games are now available on demand, namely <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/aliens-vs-predator">Aliens vs. Predator</a></em> and <em>Rapala Tournament Fishing</em>. The former will set you back <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Aliens-vs-Predator/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8025345082a?DownloadType=Game#LiveZone">$30</a> while the latter can be reeled in for <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Rapala-Tournament/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802415607eb?DownloadType=Game#LiveZone">$20</a>. Finally, Sega has also <a href="http://blogs.sega.com/usa/2011/02/15/aliens-vs-predator-and-bayonetta-on-games-on-demand/">announced</a> that <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bayonetta">Bayonetta</a></em> will strut her way onto XBL Games on Demand next week for an undetermined price. We're going to <em>guess</em> it's lower than $60. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/15/avp-modern-warfare-2-on-xbl-games-on-demand-bayonetta-next-wee/">AvP, Modern Warfare 2 on XBL Games on Demand, Bayonetta next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 Feb 2011 19:40:00 EST. Major Nelson has <a href="http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2010/06/04/coming-soon-to-the-xbox-live-marketplace-june-4.aspx">spilled all of the proverbial beans</a> on next week's XBL content and deals, and it looks like the perfect time to catch up on some games you might have missed. <br />
<br />
Leading the pack is <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/earthworm-jim-hd"><em>Earthworm Jim HD</em></a>, the long-awaited re-release of the only game in memory that lets you launch cows for fun and profit. It'll be out on Wednesday, June 9, for 800<img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /> ($10). <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/red-faction-guerilla">Red Faction Guerrilla</a> </em>and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/need-for-speed-undercover"><em>Need for Speed Undercover</em></a> will be released for Games on Demand, and a demo for <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/lego-harry-potter"><em>LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4</em></a> will be out on Monday, June 7.<br />
<br />
The deals are excellent as well -- <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/worms-2-armageddon"><em>Worms 2: Armageddon</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/duke-nukem-hd"><em>Duke Nukem 3D</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/peggle"><em>Peggle</em></a> (yes!) will all be on sale next week for 400<img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /> ($5), and you'll be able to get FPSes <em>Serious Sam HD</em>, <em>Call of Duty Classic</em> and <em>Battlefield 1943</em> for just 800<img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /> ($10).<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/05/earthworms-fps-deals-and-lego-harry-potter-on-xbla-next-week/">Earthworms, FPS deals and LEGO Harry Potter on XBLM next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 05 Jun 2010 09:00:00 EST. It's all about war on Xbox Live Games on Demand this week. Up for grabs are two war, one from the history books and another inspired by more modern fare. <em>Battlestations: Midway</em> puts players in charge of sea and air skirmishes of World War II. Meanwhile, <em>Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare</em> is ... well, you're <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/04/seen-e3-infinity-ward-accepts-call-of-duty-4-guinness-record/">probably familiar with that one</a>. As always, even in war, prices and availability vary by region.<br />

Let's face it, most of us will never be a Jedi nor a professional tennis player. However, thanks to Xbox Live Games on Demand, you can now <em>pretend</em> to be either one, since <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/star-wars-the-force-unleashed"><em>Star Wars: The Force Unleashed</em></a> and <em>Top Spin 3 </em>are both up for grabs this week. We'll let you sort out which one is about Jedi knights. As always, availability and pricing will vary by region.<br />

We hope you like militaristic destruction, because that's what you're getting on Games on Demand this week. Up for grabs are three games about blowing stuff up and not much else. First is <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/endwar"><em>Tom Clancy's EndWar</em></a>, the 2009 voice-controlled real-time strategy game from Ubisoft. Next we have some WWII naval and air combat by way of <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/battlestations-pacific"><em>Battlestations: Pacific</em></a>. Finally, there's <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/raiden-fighters-aces"><em>Raiden Fighters Aces</em></a>, a compilation of the <em>Raiden Fighters </em>arcade shoot-em-up series.<br />
<br />
You can add one of the games to your download queue with the handy Xbox Live Marketplace links below. Just remember that pricing and availability vary by region.<br />

That, ladies and gentlemen, is a lot of new Games on Demand. We've got three new ones this week and a price drop. As for the new titles, we've got a platformer, military shooter and hardcore skating simulation in <em>Prince of Persia</em>, <em>Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway</em> and <em>Skate 2</em>, respectively. <em>Prince of Persia</em> and <em>Skate 2</em> each run $19.99 in the US, while <em>Brothers in Arms</em> will set you back $29.99. Meanwhile, Rockstar's <em>Table Tennis</em> has seen a 10 dollar price drop to $19.99. As always, pricing and availability vary by region.<br />

You know that dusty piggy bank you've had sitting on the shelf forever? Look, forget the kid's college fund -- she's not going to college for, like, <em>years</em> -- and bust that thing open! There's going to be some solid content on Xbox Live Marketplace this month.<br />
<br />
In the mood for XBLA games? You'd think <em>one</em> April Xbox Live schedule would be enough, but apparently not for Microsoft. The company just issued another release schedule packed with Xbox Live Arcade, DLC, Games on Demand, Avatar goodies and Deals of the Qeek. Leading the pack is the long-awaited <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/20/tecmo-bowl-throwback-blitzing-xbla-on-april-28/">release of <em>Tecmo Bowl Throwback</em></a>. Xbox owners can also expect new <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/game-room">Game Room</a> titles, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/left-4-dead-2"><em>Left 4 Dead 2</em></a> and <em>BioShock 2</em> DLC and a half-priced <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/the-dishwasher-dead-samurai"><em>The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai</em></a>. Check out a full list of the impending releases after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/20/xbox-live-april-schedule-redux-more-game-room-tecmo-bowl/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Xbox Live April schedule redux: More Game Room, Tecmo Bowl</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/20/xbox-live-april-schedule-redux-more-game-room-tecmo-bowl/">Xbox Live April schedule redux: More Game Room, Tecmo Bowl</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 20 Apr 2010 15:30:00 EST. Microsoft has unfurled some of its <a href="http://gamerscoreblog.com/press/archive/2010/04/06/ws186.aspx">plans</a> for Xbox Live downloadable content for April, including new additions to Games on Demand and Deals of the Week, as well as the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/18/finally-final-fight-double-impact-arrives-april-14-and-15/">April 14th</a> release of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/final-fight-double-impact">Final Fight: Double Impact</a>.</em><br />
<br />
On top of that, look for a half-priced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-maw"><em>The Maw</em></a> on the week of April 12 and two add-ons for <em>Mega Man 10</em> this week: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/01/wiiware-mega-man-10-gets-dlc-bass-character-on-april-5/">Bass</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/23/mega-man-10-special-stages-bring-back-obscure-bosses/">Special Stage 1</a>. You've been able to download <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2"><em>Fable 2</em></a> through Xbox Live episodically until now, but who has time for all that thumb stick manipulation, button pressing and dashboard navigation? <em>Zeroes</em>, that's who. Starting today, you can buy the game like a sane person: In one big chunk for $20 from Games on Demand. Additionally, <em>Kung Fu Panda</em> is now available for purchase through Games on Demand for $30.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/04/06/games-on-demand-fable-ii-and-fallout-3.aspx">Major Nelson also announced</a> that <a href="http://fallout-3"><em>Fallout 3</em></a> is now available on demand in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, leaving India and Japan as the sole holdout territories that can't experience the joy of <em>nuclear devastation </em>with a single button press. Soon, guys. Soon.<br />

<a href="http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2010/03/23/xbox-live-marketplace-release-schedule-march-23.aspx">Major Nelson</a> has dropped a new <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/xblm">Xbox Live Marketplace</a> schedule for the remainder of March and beginning of April and, while we knew about most of the major releases already, there's still some surprises to be found. First, the next two weeks will see some nice Deal of the Week promotions, with <em>Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram</em> falling to 800<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($10) and <em>Geometry Wars 2</em> dropping to a paltry 400<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($5).<br />
<br />
Beyond that, Xbox Live Silver members will also be able to enjoy free Xbox Live Gold -- including online multiplayer, Netflix, last.fm, Facebook and Twitter -- from noon ET on April 1 through noon ET on April 5. And, as if all that wasn't enough, Major announced that ten Xbox Live Arcade games will go on sale from April 1 through April 7. The full list of games hasn't been announced, though it will include <em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em>, <em>South Park</em> and <em>Defense Grid</em>. Check out the full Xbox Live schedule after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/23/xbox-live-march-schedule-free-xbox-live-gold-xbla-sale/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Xbox Live March schedule: Free Xbox Live Gold, XBLA sale</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/23/xbox-live-march-schedule-free-xbox-live-gold-xbla-sale/">Xbox Live March schedule: Free Xbox Live Gold, XBLA sale</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 23 Mar 2010 13:47:00 EST. Attention would-be wastelanders, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/fallout-3"><em>Fallout 3</em></a> is <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/03/02/games-on-demand-fallout-3-and-street-fighter-iv.aspx">now available</a> on <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/@xbox,games-on-demand">Xbox Live Games on Demand</a>. The game clocks in at 5GB and is available in all Xbox Live regions except India, Japan and New Zealand. It costs $29.99 in North America, which is about even with most retailers. As usual, prices for other regions will vary.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a> -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/09/street-fighter-iv-hits-games-on-demand/">previously available only in North America and Asia</a> -- is now available in all Xbox Live regions. Before you plunk down the cash for <em>Street Fighter IV</em>, though, don't forget that you can grab <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/26/super-street-fighter-iv-dated-april-27-lost-planet-2-on-may-18/">something a little more <em>super</em></a> next month.<br />

As promised, both <em>Resident Evil 5</em> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/beautiful-katamari"><em>Beautiful Katamari</em></a> are <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/02/16/games-on-demand-resident-evil-5-and-beautiful-katamari.aspx">now available via Xbox Live Games on Demand</a>. <em>Resident Evil 5</em> is available everywhere <em>except</em> Korea, while <em>Beautiful Katamari</em> is available everywhere <em>except</em> India. The North American price for <em>Resident Evil 5</em> is $29.99, with <em>Beautiful Katamari</em> going for $19.99. As usual, prices vary by region, so be sure to check your local details before plunking down the e-money.<br />
<br />
It's worth pointing out that this week also marks the release of the <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/resident-evil-5-gold-edition"><em>Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition</em> DLC</a>. In other words, you could actually own the entirety of the Gold Edition in a purely digital format (you know, if that's <em>your thing</em>). Strangely absent from Marketplace are the promised <em>Resident Evil</em> Avatar items, though we imagine those will be coming along shortly. Unless they're zombie outfits, in which case it may be a while before they shamble online.<br />

It'd be impossible to discuss Japan's Xbox Live usage stats, recently released by Microsoft (and posted after the break), without pointing to the overwhelmingly Japanese-developed composition of them. Taking first place among the top XBLA purchases of 2009 was last year's <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/virtual-on">Virtual On</a></em> port -- a game so popular in Japan that it currently holds second place in the region's all-time bestsellers list. Games like <em>Ikaruga</em> and <em>Trigger Heart Exelica</em> populate the rest of the XBLA stats, though Western-developed <em>Castle Crashers</em> notably takes the number one position in all-time popularity.<br />
<br />
The sheer <em>Japanosity</em> of these stats is even more apparent in the download numbers for <em>all that</em> <em>other stuff</em>. From demos (75 percent Japanese-developed) to Games on Demand (90 percent) to DLC (also 90 percent), Japanese players clearly have a hankering for homemade games -- even on their Western-developed consoles.<br />

Put down that can of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/02/look-at-all-that-juice-gears-of-war-imulsion-energy-drink/">Imulsion energy drink</a>, friend, 'cause we've got some good news for you (and we wouldn't want you to choke, you know). The original <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gears-of-war"><em>Gears of War</em></a> has arrived on Xbox Live's Games on Demand service, making it that much easier to get ready for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/18/vga-2009-cliff-bleszinski-teases-new-projects-more-to-come-wh/">next year's big announcement</a> from series creator Cliff Bleszinski (spoilers: it's probably <em>Gears of War 3</em>!). <br />
<br />
For the usual $19.99, all 6GB of Marcus Fenix's Locust murder opus can be yours -- without all that pesky 'physical media' nonsense -- through the Xbox Live Marketplace (except in Japan, sorry!). We've linked it below of course, for your convenience.<br />

Microsoft has <a href="http://gamerscoreblog.com/press/archive/2009/12/10/jd678.aspx">announced</a> the Xbox Live Marketplace content schedule for December and it's a real doozy. The Deals of the Week -- usually a haven for long-forgotten or unwanted DLC -- are actually <em>real deals</em> this month. In particular, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/shadow-complex"><em>Shadow Complex</em></a> will be dropped from 1200<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($15) to 800<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($10) during the week of December 21. The following week, starting December 28, Twisted Pixel's <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/the-maw"><em>The Maw</em></a> will fall from 800<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($10) to a miniscule 400<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($5).<br />
<br />
In addition to the normal Deals of the Week, Microsoft will also be offering daily deals from December 18-31. The company didn't specify what any of those deals will be, though it promises discounts on "games, movies, blockbuster game add-ons, holiday themes, you name it!" Rest assured, we'll be keeping our eye on things once the deals start rolling.<br />
<br />
In the meantime, check out the XBLM December schedule, including Deals of the Week, Games on Demand and XBLA after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/10/xblm-december-deals-cheap-shadow-complex-maw/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>XBLM December deals: Cheap Shadow Complex, Maw</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/10/xblm-december-deals-cheap-shadow-complex-maw/">XBLM December deals: Cheap Shadow Complex, Maw</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Dec 2009 16:20:00 EST. One of the more convenient (and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/10/games-on-demand-has-a-high-price-monopoly/">pricey</a>) methods for games acquisition -- Microsoft's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/games-on-demand">Games on Demand</a> service -- has just added a pair of new titles to its North American library: Disney's <em>Bolt</em> and EA's <em>Trivial Pursuit</em>. Each can be yours for $19.99, granted you have the respective 5GB and 2GB of space for each. Prices and availability vary by region, but the insatiable, shameless desire for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/achievements">Achievements</a> that would drive you to actually purchase these games is <em>universal</em>.<br />

The electronic incarnation of board game classic <em>Monopoly</em> is now <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024541086f/?bt=0&amp;sb=1&amp;mt=4&amp;gu=66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024541086f&amp;p=1&amp;of=7">available</a> on Games on Demand for ... <em>$30</em>?! Sweet mercy, does that have luxury and income tax on it? The board game costs less than $20 and many electronic versions can be found for even less than that.<br /><br />As is our standard obligation, we'll mention that a used copy of the title can currently be found at GameStop for $25, which is still overpriced. Shouldn't this be a simple XBLA title, if anything? A $10 Xbox version of Monopoly would be lovely.

Although the retail game completes the scenario snippet on offer, the demo certainly feels like "more of the same," albeit with the addition of some new melee and bullet-required weapons.<br /><br />Also on the shooter front: <em>Battlefield 2: Modern Combat</em> can now be acquired through Games on Demand for $20. <em>Far Cry 2</em> is <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/11/03/xbox-360-games-on-demand-battlefield-2-mc-and-far-cry-2.aspx">also available</a> outside of North America. As always, we feel it prudent to mention that the titles are likely to be found cheaper at a local brick-and-mortar shop (at the risk of running into shopper zombies!).<br /><br />Shortcuts:<br />

Grab your night-vision goggles and strap on your Kevlar, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/GRAW">Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter</a></em> and <em>Splinter Cell: Double Agent</em> have been <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/09/01/xbox-360-games-on-demand-graw-and-splinter-cell-double-agent.aspx">added</a> to Xbox Live's Games on Demand service. While <em>GRAW</em> is available in nearly all Xbox Live regions, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Splinter-Cell-Double-Agent/">Splinter Cell: Double Agent</a></em> is only available to (most) European Xbox Live users. Prices vary by region, but we're confident in saying that no matter where you live, the asking price is probably too high for games that launched in 2006.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/03/graw-and-splinter-cell-double-agent-infiltrate-games-on-demand/">GRAW and Splinter Cell: Double Agent infiltrate Games on Demand</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Sep 2009 10:39:00 EST. Great news for you zero-patience homebodies out there: A <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/08/25/xbox-360-games-on-demand-burnout-revenge-nfs-prostreet-fifa-09.aspx">new batch</a> of Xbox 360 games has just come to <a href="http://games-on-demand">Games on Demand</a>. Better yet, it's a group of games that lets you perform some of the activities you swore off when you decided to never again leave the confines of your home.<br /> <br /> Now you can remember the fun of playing soccer with friends with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fifa-09"><em>FIFA 09</em></a> or relive the visceral thrill of operating a motor vehicle with <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/burnout-revenge">Burnout Revenge</a> </em>and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/need-for-speed-pro-street"><em>Need For Speed: Pro Street</em></a>. Now, if only they'd release <em>The Touch of Another Human</em>, you'd be all set.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/25/more-racing-kicking-comes-to-games-on-demand/">More racing, kicking comes to Games on Demand</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 25 Aug 2009 10:30:00 EST. E3 was <em>br&uuml;tal!</em> If you blinked, for a <span style="font-style: italic;">split/second,</span> you missed something. Even if you were <span style="font-style: italic;">trine</span> to keep up, it was a <span style="font-style: italic;">blur</span> -- staying <span style="font-style: italic;">a.wake</span> like that, you only pushed yourself to the <span style="font-style: italic;">brink</span> of your own <span style="font-style: italic;">dark void</span>. That's where Joystiq comes in; to <span style="font-style: italic;">crackdown</span> on the madness; to <span style="font-style: italic;">reach</span> out ... with <em>conviction</em> -- phew! <span style="font-style: italic;">Crysis</span> averted.<br />
<br />
We've scoured the <span style="font-style: italic;">dark corners</span> and survived the <span style="font-style: italic;">inferno</span> to piece together this roundup of all things Xbox at E3. Why? <span style="font-style: italic;">Just 'cause</span> we love you. So, draw <span style="font-style: italic;">nier</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">shift</span> your eyes past the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/12/e3-2009-highlights-the-xbox-roundup/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>E3 2009 highlights: The Xbox roundup</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/12/e3-2009-highlights-the-xbox-roundup/">E3 2009 highlights: The Xbox roundup</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Jun 2009 11:45:00 EST.
