Big Picture mode, first announced in early 2011, will allow gamers to hook up their PC or Mac to their living room television - well, okay, it doesn't <em>have</em> to be in your living room, just wherever you've got a TV. Valve aims to offer "simple, easy-to-read navigation designed specifically for TV" and controller support with Big Picture mode.<br /><br />Tonight's episode of GTTV isn't available online yet (it's still technically on Spike TV on the east coast, if you want to catch the last few minutes) so we're going off host <a href="https://de.twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/236333035392479232">Geoff Keighley's Twitter account</a> right now. We'll be sure to update as more information is made available. In the meanwhile, go grab a rag and dust off that moldy old television set!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/17/steam-big-picture-beta-coming-soon/">Steam 'Big Picture' beta coming soon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 Aug 2012 01:33:00 EST. If you missed the latest episode of GTTV, fret not: just past the break, we've embedded the episode, which pulls back the curtain on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/medal-of-honor-2010"><em>Medal of Honor</em></a>'s campaign mode. Initially, all we knew was that the game would take place in Afghanistan and you'd be among one of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/03/the-medal-of-honor-beard-cover-interview/">the beard-sporting elite</a> known as Tier One Operators. <br />
<br />
However, thanks to executive producer Greg Goodrich, we now know a bit more -- specifically, that the campaign will be divided up into three parts and follows a team on the hunt for Al Quaeda. Goodrich also mentions the story will be told "from two different sides," implying that players will eventually be able to take up the mantle of the terrorists themselves. <br />
<br />
But, hey, why are we still gabbing on? Head on past the break and absorb this intel first-hand for yourself, including a look at two never-before-seen single-player levels. Consider it an order, soldier!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/15/medal-of-honor-campaign-detailed-on-gametrailers-tv/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Medal of Honor campaign detailed on GameTrailers TV</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/15/medal-of-honor-campaign-detailed-on-gametrailers-tv/">Medal of Honor campaign detailed on GameTrailers TV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 15 Aug 2010 13:30:00 EST. If you're looking for <em>Call of Duty</em> news that isn't related to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/infinity-ward,@breakup">Infinity Ward fiasco</a>, you're in luck. This week's GameTrailers TV will feature a brand new teaser trailer that promises to "put all the rumors to rest." We already know that the next iteration of Activision's FPS franchise will be developed by <em>World at War</em>'s <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/02/activision-treyarch-call-of-duty-this-fall-mw2-map-packs-2010/">Treyarch</a>, but this week's GTTV should finally confirm the long-rumored <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/03/rumor-next-call-of-duty-possibly-set-in-vietnam/">Vietnam setting</a>.<br />
<br />
GTTV will air on SpikeTV on Friday night at 12:40AM. (And don't worry, we'll post details immediately after they air.) Check out a promo after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/28/next-call-of-duty-to-be-announced-on-gametrailers-tv-this-week/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Next Call of Duty to be announced on GameTrailers TV this week</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/28/next-call-of-duty-to-be-announced-on-gametrailers-tv-this-week/">Next Call of Duty to be announced on GameTrailers TV this week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 28 Apr 2010 16:50:00 EST. Aha! That's why no one's talking about it! The first video and details on <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-reach">Halo: Reach</a></em>'s "Invasion" mode were shown off <em>exclusively</em> in last night's episode of <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/89&amp;ch=1&amp;sd=0?ep=89&amp;ch=1&amp;sd=0">GameTrailers TV</a>, with Bungie additionally dishing some deets about the game we'd yet to hear. As we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/14/halo-reach-multiplayer-modes-blown-wide-open/">already know</a>, Invasion is a game mode that's only available in Boneyard (also scantly detailed until now) and, as promised, features a ton of vehicles. The multi-tiered level unlocks in "three phases (similar to <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/battlefield-bad-company-2">Bad Company 2</a></em>'s "Rush" mode), with various weapon loadouts and vehicles becoming available alongside it. <br />
<br />
Among the smattering of new footage, Bungie reps introduce the human grenade launcher and plasma launcher, two exciting looking additions to the <em>Halo</em> arsenal. Unfortunately, when pressed on whether or not <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3-odst">ODST</a></em>'s Firefight mode would be making a return appearance in <em>Reach</em>, Bungie's Chris Carney says that the mode "is not in the beta" and he's "not sure what those guys have planned." As you might expect, there's also a tease that we'll hear more about the game (campaign mode specifically) "in June."<br type="_moz" /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/17/halo-reach-invasion-mode-unveiled-on-latest-gttv/">Halo: Reach 'Invasion' mode unveiled on latest GTTV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 17 Apr 2010 13:00:00 EST. The latest trailer for EA's upcoming reboot of the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/medal-of-honor">Medal of Honor</a></em> series, which debuted this week on <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-tier-medal-of/63075">GTTV</a>, really goes out of its way to explain exactly the kind of gentlemen you'll be piloting <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/08/medal-of-honor-apb-dated-for-summer-2010/">this summer</a>. These guys are Tier One Operators -- "experts in the application of violence." That seems pretty self-explanatory ... but we've never been able to turn down a video featuring expertly applied violence. Check it out after the break.<br />

"You finally get the chance to see what it's like to be killed by Kratos," Adam Puhl explained to Geoff Keighley in the latest episode of GameTrailers TV. Although described as "first person kills," we'd argue that they should be coined "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second-person_narrative">second person</a> kills" -- <em>you</em> are doing the killing, after all. Regardless of the terminology, these interactive sequences are likely to represent some of the most gruesome moments of the entire franchise. For us, this footage represented the highlight of last night's episode.<br />
<br />
The 21-minute special includes a rather comprehensive look at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/god-of-war-iii"><em>God of War III</em></a>, but be warned of potential spoilers. You will see some new bosses, and even a new power that enhances the combat rather significantly. On this evening's "World Exclusive" laden episode of GameTrailers TV, host Geoff Keighley unveiled the latest game from Japanese development all-star team <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/platinum-games">Platinum Games</a>, a futuristic shooter named <em>Vanquish</em>. From the bit of trailer we saw in tonight's show, the game is set on US soil sometime in the future. Also, hey, there are some mechs -- it's from Japan, right? We've got the whole thing embedded after the break, should you be so inclined. <br />
<br />
As noted <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/25/platinum-games-fourth-game-to-be-announced-on-this-weeks-gttv/">earlier this week</a>, the upcoming game comes from <em>Resident Evil</em> designer Shinji Mikami and marks the fourth title from the development studio -- the last of a four game deal with Sega <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/sega-talks-platinum-games-deal-franchises/">inked back in 2008</a>. Though we've got tonight's game announce still fresh on our brain box, we have to wonder what this means in terms of a publisher for upcoming games from <em>all those other</em> famous developers sitting around Platinum Games HQ, wondering what to do next. Okay, okay, they're probably not just sitting around. But still!<br />
<br />
No consoles were named or release windows given -- heck, the whole trailer was live-action -- but we have to imagine that kind of info isn't too far off.<br type="_moz" /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/29/platinum-games-fourth-game-is-vanquish/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Platinum Games' fourth game is Vanquish</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/29/platinum-games-fourth-game-is-vanquish/">Platinum Games' fourth game is Vanquish</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 29 Jan 2010 01:05:00 EST. Here were are again, folks, for another edition of "Turn a Tweet Into a Full Post." This time we've got word from the always exciting <a href="http://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/statuses/8206562401">Twitter feed of Geoff Keighley</a> that this week's episode of GameTrailers TV will reveal the fourth game from Japanese developer Platinum Games. So far, after inking a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/sega-talks-platinum-games-deal-franchises/">publishing deal with Sega</a> in 2008 for four games, all we've heard of the mysterious fourth title is that it will be headed up by <em>Resident Evil</em> designer Shinji Mikami. <br />
<br />
Considering the somewhat confusing wording of Keighley's tweet, we asked the man himself to clarify what we're going to see on Thursday evening. "It's an exclusive reveal trailer for the game inside the show this week. The news breaks during GTTV on Thursday night. We're really excited to have the Japanese developers/publishers working with us on reveals like this." He also pointed out that <a href="http://www.platinumgames.co.jp/">this countdown</a> on Platinum Games' Japanese website has been counting down towards Thursday's reveal -- aha! For all the steaming hot scoops, you'll have to peep the show when it airs this Thursday evening/Friday morning at 12:30AM ET.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/25/platinum-games-fourth-game-to-be-announced-on-this-weeks-gttv/">Platinum Games' fourth game to be announced on this week's GTTV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Jan 2010 16:45:00 EST. Ever since Andrew Ryan decided to go out for that pack of smokes (our mom says he's coming back; just you wait!), there's been nobody to tend to the leaky pipes and roving packs of splicers in Rapture. Well, according to GameTrailers TV's <a href="http://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/5019894542">Geoff Keighley</a>, someone's finally decided to step in and assume the leadership role for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bioshock-2"><em>BioShock 2</em></a>, and we'll find out who on Thursday's episode.<br /><br />In another tweet, Keighley <a href="http://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/4979926482">promised</a> plenty of "<span class="status-body"><span class="entry-content">new single player info and footage" and even teased that the episode will also reveal new characters -- something <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/06/2k-marin-says-rapture-is-key-to-bioshock-promises-more-characte/">we already knew</a> was planned for the sequel. You can catch the special <em>BioShock 2</em> episode this Thursday night, October 22 at 12:30 a.m. ET on Spike. <br /></span></span><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/21/gttv-features-bioshock-2-this-week-reveals-whos-running-raptur/">GTTV features BioShock 2 this week; reveals who's running Rapture</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 Oct 2009 00:00:00 EST. Save for the one story mission <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/09/impressions-of-halo-3-odst-campaign-life-in-a-sandbox?icid=sphere_blogsmith_inpage_joystiq">we saw at E3 2009</a> and the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/30/video-nathan-fillion-explains-halo-3-odst/">character introduction trailer</a>, <em>Halo 3:ODST</em>'s single-player campaign hasn't seen heavy exposure from developer Bungie. That all changed last night, when <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/68?ch=2&amp;sd=1">GTTV</a> got a hold of design director Paul Bertone, who revealed "Kizingo Boulevard," a tank-based level that follows an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper from "kind of in the middle of the story."<br />
<br />
Later in the episode, Bungie's creative director, Joe Staten, teased a bit of info regarding next year's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-reach"><em>Halo: Reach</em></a>, saying, "We're really excited about telling a story with more Spartans in it." Host Geoff Keighley pushes Staten on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/15/ghost-recon-creative-director-moves-to-bungie/">squad-based <em>Halo</em> rumors</a> and receives an interesting answer: "Without any of the baggage of sort of squad-based combat, I think that would be a safe assumption." Maybe we'll finally find out what happened to Linda, Fred, and Kelly! <br />
<br />
... we did <em>not</em> just write that.<br />

<div align="left">The first look at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bioshock-2"><em>BioShock 2</em></a>'s multiplayer component in action surfaced this evening on <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-multiplayer-bioshock-2/55395">GameTrailers TV</a>. Our rough calculations reveal that the trailer -- which clocks in at just over two minutes in length -- is running at about .5 plasmid attacks per second (PAPS). <br /><br />It might just be the edit, but the gameplay looks extremely frantic, with several human-controlled players employing the likes of Incinerate, Winter Blast, Telekinesis and a host of other plasmid powers in rapid succession. There are also glimpses at turret-building, what appears to be the first game's Research Camera being used for <em>something </em>and, of course, someone playing as the prototype Big Daddy.<br /><br />Check out the trailer after the break and let us know that <em>you </em>thought of it in comments. How <em>exclusive</em> is this footage? So exclusive it's not even named yet! At least that's what Valve's Chet Faliszek told Geoff Keigley about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/left-4-dead-2"><em>Left 4 Dead 2</em></a>'s amusement park campaign on the most recent episode of <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/67?ep=67">GTTV</a>. If you skip past the first half of the episode found after the break (which, inconveniently enough isn't available as a standalone video), you'll get a few minutes of new gameplay from the upcoming zombie-murdalizin' sequel.<br />
<br />
As you might imagine, there are zombies. There are also amusement park rides. As if clowns weren't terrifying enough! Come on, Valve!<br />

<a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/video/episode-220-gametrailers-tv/54082">GameTrailers TV</a> will be packed to the brim with rotting zombie flesh this week, as the show will premiere new footage of both <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/left-4-dead-2"><em>Left 4 Dead 2</em></a> and the upcoming "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/04/left-4-dead-crash-course-campaign-dlc-free-on-pc-7-on-360/">Crash Course</a>" DLC for <em>Left 4 Dead</em>. Specifically, a brand new campaign for <em>Left 4 Dead 2</em> will be revealed, which is apparently "quite literally a carnival of zombie action!" So, it's a carnival, we guess.<br /><br />The episode is also set to contain more Valve goodies, including an interview with Gabe Newell discussing <em>Portal 2</em>, <em>Half-Life 2 Episode 3</em> and PS3 development. Finally expect new footage of <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/dirt-2"><em>DiRT 2</em></a> and a new trailer for <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/rage"><em>RAGE</em></a>. For those of the zombie killing persuasion, the show airs tonight at 12:30am ET.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/13/gttv-loses-brains-to-left-4-dead-2-left-4-dead-dlc/">GTTV loses brains to Left 4 Dead 2, Left 4 Dead DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Aug 2009 21:00:00 EST. <em>Battlestar Galactica</em>'s Tricia Helfer needs no introduction. Her work as one of the more eye-catching Cylons and time spent as Kane's right-hand gal in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=command+and+conquer+3+tiberium+wars"><em>Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars</em></a> means she's got some clout with us gaming folk. And now, she's going to bolster her gaming resume with a pretty big project: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3-odst"><em>Halo 3: ODST</em></a>.<br /><br />Helfer couldn't divulge anything other than who she would be playing in the game -- a character by the name of Dare -- during <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=61&amp;starttime=1370">the GTTV reveal on Spike</a> last night. And, that's about it. We're serious. We got <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dj-hero/2000877/">our first look</a> at the vinyl-spinning peripheral for Activision's mixmastering sim <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/DJ-Hero/">DJ Hero</a></em> earlier this month but -- well, they weren't very good pictures, were they? Just look at that framing. <em>Terrible</em>. Obviously, someone's never heard of the rule of thirds. Man, we learned about that photographic law during our extensive <em>Pok&eacute;mon Snap</em> sessions. It's not that hard, people.<br /><br />Fortunately, a sneak peek for GameTrailers TV's E3 coverage gave us a much clearer shot of the turntable periph, seen <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=362278&amp;page=2">in the image above</a>. We get a pretty good look at the crossfader attachment, as well as a sense of the controller's size in comparison to a human lap. Hopefully, we'll get an even better (and more photographically sound) look at the peripheral when we check <em>DJ Hero</em> out at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/e3-2009">E3 next week</a>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=362278&amp;page=2">NeoGAF</a>, thanks to everyone who sent this in!]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dj-hero/">DJ Hero</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dj-hero/#2042712"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/djhero052903_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dj-hero/#2042711"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/djhero052902_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dj-hero/#2042710"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/djhero052901_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dj-hero/#2042709"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/djhero052904_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dj-hero/#2000878"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/dj-hero-controller-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/24/gametrailers-tv-promo-gives-a-look-at-dj-hero-peripheral/">GameTrailers TV promo gives a look at DJ Hero peripheral</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 24 May 2009 13:00:00 EST. According to <a href="http://kotaku.com/5264925/e3-details-spill-from-epic-gametrailers-taping">Kotaku</a>, a recent live taping of a GameTrailers TV E3 special revealed a veritable bounty of E3 information. First and foremost, a spokesmen reportedly confirmed that the upcoming <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/uncharted-2"><em>Uncharted 2</em></a> multiplayer beta will begin on the first day of E3. For all the Nathan Drake fans out there, that would be June 2, so mark your calendars.<br /><br />The special is also rumored to reveal new details about <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/ratchet-and-clank-a-crack-in-time"><em>Ratchet &amp; Clank: A Crack in Time</em></a>, specifically that the game will include time travel as well as new hover boots for Ratchet. Throw in some <em>Modern Warfare 2</em> footage, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/20/brink-trademarked-by-bethesda-parent-company/">a new title from Bethesda</a> and news about loads of games including <em>Mass Effect 2</em>, <em>Madden</em>, <em>Need For Speed: Shift</em>, <em>Dante's Inferno</em>, <em>Lost Planet 2</em> and <em>Aliens vs Predator</em>, and you've got quite a show.<br /><br />Granted, some of this could easily be revealed prior to the episode's May 28 premier (11:00pm ET/PT), but given the program's penchant for WORLD EXCLUSIVE reveals, it's probably worth checking out.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/1875372882">@geoffkeighley</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/21/rumor-gttv-taping-reveals-uncharted-2-beta-deets-other-e3-tidb/">Rumor: GTTV taping reveals Uncharted 2 beta deets, other E3 tidbits</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 May 2009 18:15:00 EST. Geoff Keighley and co. got the scoop on the newest trailer and a ton of info for the upcoming <em>Wolfenstein</em> game from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/raven-software/">Raven Software</a> on last night's <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=52">GameTrailers TV</a>. The game, unsurprisingly, seeks to bring back most of what we remember from the classic id Software title, from main character B.J. Blazkowicz to the gauntlet of Third Reich baddies taking aim at B.J. along the way. This may or may not be a good thing, considering when we last saw <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/09/nycc-09-returning-to-wolfenstein-why/"><em>Wolfenstein </em>at the NY Comic Con</a>, we were less than impressed.<br /><br />Additionally, the <strike>next-gen</strike> current-gen update to <em>Wolfenstein</em> brings with it some new weapons (a particle gun that vaporizes enemies, for instance) as well as a twist on the gameplay called "the veil," which the game's creative director, Eric Beissman, describes as, "An alternative reality that sits on top of where we live." From what we can glean from the gameplay in the video, this "veil" business seems to be <em>Wolfenstein</em>'s version of bullet-time, as well as a means to employ various powers. <br /><br />To find out everything Mr. Keighley discovered, peep the interview with Beissman after the break. Oh, and yeah, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/09/new-wolfenstein-game-will-not-feature-hitler/">no mech Hitler</a>! <em>Seriously</em>?!<br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/21/new-wolfenstein-trailer-and-info-exclusively-from-gametrailers-t/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New Wolfenstein trailer and info exclusively from GameTrailers TV</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/21/new-wolfenstein-trailer-and-info-exclusively-from-gametrailers-t/">New Wolfenstein trailer and info exclusively from GameTrailers TV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 21 Mar 2009 14:30:00 EST. If you haven't already guessed by the circus train of trailers that surfaced today, <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=50&amp;ch=1&amp;sd=0">last night's episode of GameTrailers TV</a> provided a cornucopia of previews for a number of hotly anticipated games and DLC expansions. First on the docket is an interview with Bethesda's Todd Howard, who in addition to revealing a self-surgery minigame that didn't quite make it to the retail version of <em>Fallout 3</em>, gives a few details regarding <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/05/fallout-3s-the-pitt-officially-dated-new-screens/">the upcoming <em>The Pitt</em> expansion</a>, and promises a new trailer for the DLC in the next installment of GTTV.<br /><br />Next, Todd Hollenshead, CEO of id Software, <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=50&amp;ch=2&amp;sd=0">shows off carpocalypse sim <em>Rage</em></a>, and gives a few scant details on the next <em>Doom</em> title (shockingly, it will be like the last three). Also, High Voltage's Eric Nofsinger <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=50&amp;ch=3&amp;sd=0">drops a few factoids about <em>The Conduit</em></a>, and the first footage of <em>Call of Duty: World at War</em>'s new maps <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=50&amp;ch=4&amp;sd=0">sees the light of day</a>. There's something for everyone -- especially <em>the ladies</em>, courtesy of a sizable dose of <em>Keighley</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/07/gametrailers-tv-previews-the-pitt-world-at-war-dlc-the-conduit/">GameTrailers TV previews The Pitt, World at War DLC, The Conduit, Rage</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 07 Mar 2009 18:00:00 EST. Or, wait -- did it actually reveal the game in said teaser? It's like, out there now, right? We're pretty sure that counts as a revelation.<br /><br />From the four seconds of <em>Split Second</em> cinematics shown in the teaser (which appears to have come from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/17/pure-developer-blackrock-teases-new-action-racer/">Black Rock's teaser video</a>, seen above), as well as Geoff Keighley's ominous voiceover which warns, "watch out, Burnout," we're guessing it'll be in the same ludological vein as Criterion's cash cow. We've contacted a Disney Interactive rep for more info, but we're sure to find out more when <em>GTTV</em> airs Friday night (Saturday morning) at 1 a.m. EST.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/05/pure-devs-new-racer-split-second-to-debut-march-6/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Pure dev's new racer 'Split Second' to debut March 6</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/05/pure-devs-new-racer-split-second-to-debut-march-6/">Pure dev's new racer 'Split Second' to debut March 6</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 05 Mar 2009 17:20:00 EST. There's been a number of pleasant surprises that have come out of Treyarch's upcoming installment in the wildly lucrative <em>Call of Duty </em>franchise -- such as the inclusion of Jack Bauer, and its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/14/joystiq-hands-on-surviving-call-of-duty-world-at-war-beta-xbo/">uncanny resemblance</a> to the previous, well-received chapter in the series. However, <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=43&amp;sd=0&amp;ch=4">last night's episode</a> of GameTrailers TV brought another shocking (yet welcome) revelation, straight from the mouth of Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia -- <em>Call of Duty: World at War</em> will contain a four-player, co-op zombie (of the Nazi variety) survival mode.<br /><br />Those who currently aren't busy scraping pieces of their blown mind off of the wall behind them will probably be interested in a few details Lamia mentioned -- the gameplay mode (which is unlocked upon the completion of the single player campaign) will place four players in a central structure, then assail them with wave upon wave of undead national socialists. Throughout the game, players will collect money which can be used to fortify their compound, or purchase new weapons. Also, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiltmpnOx0k"><em>there will be Nazi zombies</em></a>.<br /><br />Stoked parties can catch a glimpse of the SS Zombocalypse in <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=43&amp;sd=0&amp;ch=4">Chapter Four of last night's GTTV episode</a>, now available online.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/25/call-of-duty-world-at-war-co-op-mode-pits-players-against-nazi/">Call of Duty: World at War co-op mode pits players against Nazi zombies</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 25 Oct 2008 16:00:00 EST. We were awakened last night by a terrible din -- a wailing which echoed through our streets like a funeral dirge. The sound poured from nearby houses; voices making slightly varied proclamations with a singular theme. In near-unison, they pierced the night: "WHERE IS MASTER CHIEF?", "WHY NO LASER SWORDS?", and, perplexingly, "GEOFF KEIGHLEY, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH CORTANA?"<br /><br />These confused souls were reacting to the cinematic trailer for Ensemble Studios' swan song, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Halo%20Wars">Halo Wars</a></em>, which debuted on <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=39&amp;ch=1&amp;sd=1">GameTrailers TV last night</a>. After years of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Zombie_Survival_Guide">reading literature</a> and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfDUv3ZjH2k">watching films concerning the subject</a>, we consider ourselves fairly knowledgeable when it comes to surviving the inevitable Zombocalypse. That's why we've never been too intrigued by what we've seen of Valve's co-op horror title, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Left%204%20Dead">Left 4 Dead</a></em> -- we've hypothetically been there, and we've hypothetically done that. However, a spot on <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=38&amp;ch=1&amp;sd=1">last night's episode of GameTrailers TV</a> featured gameplay footage from the "Infected" (see: Zombie) point of view, giving us our first look at how the other half lives. (Un-lives?)<br /><br />It looks like they've done a great job of balancing the highly armed survivors with the shambling brain-eaters, giving pulseless players enhanced zomb-o-vision as well as a myriad of interesting abilities. <div align="left">As we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/kazunori-yamauchi-more-prologue-no-gt5-soon-gt-psp-still-comi/">reported during E3</a>, the next evolution of the <em>Gran Turismo</em> series isn't <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gran-turismo-5"><em>Gran Turismo 5</em></a> - it's enhancements to the glorified <em>GT5</em> demo, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gran-turismo-5-prologue"><em>Gran Turismo 5 Prologue</em></a>. Specifically, Sony and series creator <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/kazunori-yamauchi">Kazunori Yamauchi</a> are all revved up about the roll out of <em>Gran Turismo TV</em>, an on-demand video service featuring motorsports shows from around the world - as well as original programming - accessible from within <em>GT5P</em>'s front-end.<br /><br />We've learned that these features will finally hit this Friday, August 1 as part of an update for the <strike>game</strike> demo. Auto aficionados will be able to download episodes of programs including England's <a href="http://www.topgear.com/"><em>Top Gear</em></a> and Japan's <a href="http://www.bestmotoringvideo.com/"><em>Best Motoring</em></a>. Programming created by Polyphony Digital itself - and indeed even hosted by Yamauchi - will also be up for purchase. Speaking of which, SCEA has announced that PPV content will cost 99 cents per episode for the first two weeks of <em>GTTV</em>, after which it will increase to $1.99.<br /><br />In addition to the debut of <em>GTTV</em>, Sony has confirmed that some welcome gameplay tweaks will be introduced via the update. These include improved collision physics for online races (a biggie), more tire choices for Time Trial play, and fixes in penalty judgments. In speaking with Polyphony's Yamauchi at E3, we learned that the next <em>GT5P</em> update will introduce new tracks and cars. No date has been set for that yet.</div>

<em>Gran Turismo 5 Prologue</em> expands this Friday, August 1st with a fairly large content patch. Not only will the patch bring the first load of <em>GTTV</em> content, but also a few gameplay enhancements and fixes. A full list of <em>GTTV</em> videos is available on the official site and will be constantly updated as more is added.<br /><br /> At the moment there's plenty to choose from, from season 6 of Top Gear (a must see) to Japan's Super GT and a "video magazine" called Video Option. For the first two weeks all paid-for content will be at the reduced price of $0.99, letting you trial the content for a little while for half price.<br /><br />The patch also adds "fixes in penalty judgments, more tire choices for Time Trial and improved physics during collisions between cars during online races." Sounds like a pretty hefty update. Not bad for a free patch, right? Check the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/07/30/a-grand-update-for-gran-turismo-5-prologue/">PlayStation Blog post</a> for more info.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/30/gran-turismo-5-prologue-update-brings-gttv-content-drop/">Gran Turismo 5 Prologue update brings GTTV content drop</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 Jul 2008 18:45:00 EST. Whether you're in it for the pugilistic spectacle or gratuitous undead hostility, we think there are a few good reasons to catch this Friday's episode of <em>GameTrailers TV</em> on Spike. Not only will we see the character creation mode in EA's cartoonish boxing game, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Facebreaker/">Facebreaker</a></em>, we'll actually get to see show host Geoff Keighley and EA's Peter Moore <em>break each other's faces</em>. In the game.<br /><br />If you prefer your violence to be dispensed with the pull of a finger (and not the swing of a fist), the episode will also feature new gameplay footage of Capcom's controversial <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/resident-evil-5"><em>Resident Evil 5</em></a>. Add a trailer for world-warping shooter <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Fracture/">Fracture</a></em> and in-game footage of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/golden-axe-beast-rider"><em>Golden Axe: Beast Rider</em></a>, and you have yourself a decent bit of entertainment. You'll find a trailer for the episode, which airs on Friday, May 30th, at 1AM ET/PT, after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/29/gametrailers-tv-to-debut-new-facebreaker-resident-evil-5-footag/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GameTrailers TV to debut new Facebreaker, Resident Evil 5 footage</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/29/gametrailers-tv-to-debut-new-facebreaker-resident-evil-5-footag/">GameTrailers TV to debut new Facebreaker, Resident Evil 5 footage</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 May 2008 11:59:00 EST. We don't mean to tell you what to do during your Friday evenings (or early Saturday mornings), but we thought we might at least wedge a single suggestion in-between "pwn sum n00bs" and "stop destroying the English language." If you or your trusty PVR device were to eye <em>Spike TV</em> at 1amET/PT tonight, you'd experience the premiere of "GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley," a weekly magazine-style program dedicated to those video game things you like so much.<br /><br />Hosted by media "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/21/keighley-takes-on-fox-news-sexbox-sexpose/">darling</a>" Geoff Keighley, the show will not only come to you on the airwaves, but via a download on Xbox Live Marketplace and -- for those dying to pore over Geoff's pores -- an HD version on <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com">GameTrailers.com</a>. A newly announced <a href="http://www.scee.presscentre.com/content/detail.asp?ReleaseID=4441&amp;NewsAreaID=2&amp;HUserID=878,793,889,855,772,878,881,845,765,674,677,767,684,762,718,674,708,683,706,718,674">collaboration</a> between Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., Polyphony Digital and BBC Worldwide will see the broadcaster's popular motoring show, <em>Top Gear</em>, distributed through <em>Gran Turismo TV</em>. The online channel, expected to launch on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/psn">PlayStation Network</a> during 2008, will host 40 downloadable episodes of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Clarkson">Jeremy Clarkson</a> vehicle snobbery-fest.<br /><br />An added bonus resulting from the agreement is an in-game replica of the Top Gear Test Track, bound for the PS3 installment of Sony's driving sim, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gt5"><em>Gran Turismo 5</em></a>. You'll be able to experience "every white knuckle, hairpin turn," whether or not you're rambling into a camera about how the unnervingly attractive car makes you <em>feel</em>. If you haven't done so already, you can coax the Japanese PSN into giving you the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/18/gt5-prologue-demo-coming-oct-20-in-japan/">GT5 Prologue demo</a> while you await the final game's release.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gran-turismo-tv-ps3/">Gran Turismo TV (PS3)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gran-turismo-tv-ps3/#454290"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/10/gran-turismo-tv-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gran-turismo-tv-ps3/#454291"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/10/gran-turismo-tv-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gran-turismo-tv-ps3/#454292"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/10/gran-turismo-tv-6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gran-turismo-tv-ps3/#454293"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/10/gran-turismo-tv-7_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gran-turismo-tv-ps3/#454294"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/10/gran-turismo-tv-8_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/24/gran-turismo-tv-to-feature-bbcs-top-gear/">Gran Turismo TV to feature BBC's Top Gear</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 24 Oct 2007 08:30:00 EST.
