Perhaps the variety of trailers released by Capcom last week featuring the various new characters coming to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 simply weren't enough for you. While we can't imagine how that's possible, we can show you four more.
Continue reading Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 vignettes showcase Firebrand, Ghost Rider, Strider, and Hawkeye

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 vignettes showcase Firebrand, Ghost Rider, Strider, and Hawkeye originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 26 Jul 2011 21:30:00 EST. The list includes characters like the Red Arremer, Mega Man (in Battle Network and classic styles), and Frank West/Chuck Greene (probably as alternate versions of the same character) on the Capcom end, and Ultron, Squirrel Girl, and Thanos from Marvel. The most random character on the list is probably Victor Delacroix from 2003's Chaos Legion.

Though, of course, all of this new information is unconfirmed, it's worth noting that She-Hulk and Zero, both appearing in the list from our source, were announced after we received it. In addition, some of the characters, like Frank West and Soki, are believable because they were featured in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (like Zero) and thus are probably relatively easy to update for MvC3. The Mega Man character is likely also similar to the Mega Man Legends-style version found in Tatsunoko. It's possible some of the new characters are even based on Tatsunoko movesets -- Delacroix makes more sense if he's taking the place of the sword-wielding Karas or Tekkaman Blade, for example.
If you did, then you'll be missing out on the opportunity to fork over your Microsoft points in exchange for some additional characters. In April you'll be able to purchase either a 'Heroes' pack or a 'Villains' pack for 500 points apiece, or both for 800. Whoever said that Activision doesn't like to make a deal and pass the savings along to you?

The Heroes pack includes: Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Hawkeye, and The Incredible Hulk. On the flipside, the Villains group consists of Venom, Magneto, Sabretooth, and Doctor Doom ... which sounds like an 80s hair-band mega-metal tour. Both packs will include new achievements as well, breathing some life back into this game.

Hopefully this is a trend that'll continue for awhile, because we like adding some shelf-life and playability to our games. Of course, we're still waiting on additional achievements for Whacked!, but that's a different story.
New goodies, and baddies, coming to Marvel: Ultimate Alliance originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 26 Mar 2007 13:58:00 EST.
