We promise this isn't one of our bizarre and contrived <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/20/today-in-joystiq-april-20-2007/">theme days</a>, we just happen to have <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/12/ps3-struggles-hurt-haze-development/">two stories</a> about now-defunct Free Radical, the founder of which has <a href="http://www.digitalspy.com/gaming/a170903/free-radical-founder-opens-facebook-studio.html">gone on to form his own Facebook game design studio</a>. It's called (tragically) Zinkyzonk.<br /><br />Before he created the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/free-radical">House That <em>TimeSplitters</em> Built</a>, David Doak was one of the designers on <em>GoldenEye</em>, so he's definitely got the experience and chops. But if he's looking to unseat <a href="http://apps.facebook.com/dolphinolympics/"><em>Dolphin Olympics 2</em></a> as Facebook game king, he'd better get that nose to the grindstone <em>yesterday</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/12/free-radical-founder-forms-facebook-studio/">Free Radical founder forms Facebook studio</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Aug 2009 23:00:00 EST. It's no secret that some developers have a tough time with the PS3. In fact, Gabe Newell hates the thing so much he once forced an elephant to eat a crushed up 20GB model, jammed a cardboard cutout of Jack Tretton into the resulting dung pile and burned the whole thing in effigy. Karl Hilton of Crytek UK (formerly Free Radical) brings a more restrained (though ultimately more hygienic) protest today, telling <a href="http://www.develop-online.net/news/32590/PS3-technical-issues-hampered-Haze-development">Develop</a> that the developer's technical learning curve hurt the development of critically maligned PS3 exclusive, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Haze/">Haze</a></em>.<br /> <br /> "We spent more time trying get the game running properly and less time to design the game properly," he said. "The PS3 is a powerful machine but a difficult one to get the best out of."<br /> <br /> And no, before you ask, Hilton doesn't expect to have similar PS3 problems with Crytek's CryEngine 3. Shockingly.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/12/ps3-struggles-hurt-haze-development/">PS3 struggles hurt Haze development</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Aug 2009 16:00:00 EST. If you're like us, then you remember the amazing <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoldenEye_007"><em>GoldenEye 007</em></a> and those fun <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timesplitters">TimeSplitters</a> </em>games (and are trying to forget <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/06/haze-down-to-40-at-gamestop/">that <em>Haze</em> one</a>). That's why the ongoing story of UK-based <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/free-radical">Free Radical</a> touches us so deeply. We were hoping to get a new <em>TimeSplitters</em> game some day!<br /><br />Now, it looks like we'll know on Wednesday if that's to be, as ReSolve Partners, the restructuring administrator handling this dark time for Free Radical, has revealed that the fate of the company will be announced to one and all on February 4th. Hopefully, somebody <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/21/free-radical-not-quite-ready-to-call-it-quits/">ends up rescuing the company</a>, because we'd hate to see Free Radical become permanently affixed to our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/layoffs">layoffs</a> tag. ReSolve has said that it's prepared to split up technology, IPs, and other assets if it cannot sell the company as a whole, or if the prospect of a more lucrative sale arises.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/02/free-radicals-fate-decided-this-week/">Free Radical's fate to be decided this week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 02 Feb 2009 10:30:00 EST. ReSolve Partners, which is handling the administration of <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/free-radical">Free Radical</a>'s <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/22/report-free-radical-fails-to-find-buyer-staff-laid-off/">dire situation</a>, continues its mantra that there's "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/26/confirmed-free-radical-lays-off-140-for-sale-sign-posted/">stong interest</a>" in the company from buyers. A ReSolve spokesperson told <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/very-strong-interest-in-free-radical-design-sale">GI.biz</a> that the <strike>chop shop</strike> company is trying to sell Free Radical whole, but will cut the piggy up if it'll bring in more cash. ReSolve expects to know in the next ten days what pieces potential suitors are interested in picking off from the studio's still-twitching remains. If ReSolve gets lucky, a company will buy the whole hog.<br /><br />Free Radical currently holds several IPs, including <em>TimeSplitters</em>, <em>Second Sight</em> and <em>Haze</em>. We're going to go out on a limb and say that corporate bargain bin shoppers are probably interested in only two of those IPs (Hint: It's not <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/haze"><em>Haze</em></a>).<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/06/chopped-up-or-whole-free-radical-for-sale/">Chopped up or whole: Free Radical for sale</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 06 Jan 2009 10:00:00 EST. It's now official: As of December 31, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/free-radical">Free Radical</a> will be 140 employees smaller, which is just over 75% of its workforce. The company and its remaining 40 or so members are now on sale with several companies showing "strong interest," according to the firm brought in to help with downsizing (who in our minds look a lot like the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqjQDP9KX6E">Bobs from <em>Office Space</em></a>). With the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/layoffs">industry death toll rising</a>, our hearts go out to all the developers (and everyone else, for that matter) who faced the tragic, proverbial / literal pink slip this year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/26/confirmed-free-radical-lays-off-140-for-sale-sign-posted/">Confirmed: Free Radical lays off 140, 'For Sale' sign posted</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 26 Dec 2008 11:58:00 EST. Further details surrounding <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/21/free-radical-not-quite-ready-to-call-it-quits/">Free Radical's financial woes</a> have arisen, with Edge sources revealing that employees would no longer receive compensation after December, as there would be "nothing left to give." Free Radical's co-founder, Steve Ellis, reportedly delivered the bad news in a nearby hotel after employees found their office doors locked. According to <a href="http://www.edge-online.com/features/source-free-radical-locked-up">Edge's latest update</a>, said bad news entailed failed attempts by the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/haze"><em>Haze</em></a> developer to find a publisher or buyer, both locally and abroad. <br /><br />The source claims that twenty former employees were offered different positions -- possibly at Ellis' new venture, Pumpkin Beach -- whilst others were laid off and redirected to reps from Codemasters and Monumental Games. <br /><br />A separate report from <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/administrator-confirms-free-radical-demise">GamesIndustry.biz</a>, however, notes that <em>"</em>40 people are still working in the Free Radical offices, mainly on game concepts, and should be there into the New Year." It's still unclear what exactly transpired, but one thing's for certain: We feel kinda bad about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/06/haze-down-to-40-at-gamestop/">this mean post</a> now.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.edge-online.com/features/source-free-radical-locked-up">Source</a> -- Source: Free Radical Locked Up<br /><a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/administrator-confirms-free-radical-demise">Source</a> -- Administrator Confirms Free Radical Demise<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/22/report-free-radical-fails-to-find-buyer-staff-laid-off/">Report: Free Radical fails to find buyer, staff laid off</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 22 Dec 2008 11:58:00 EST. Though we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/18/rumor-free-radical-closes-shop/">heard a number of reports on Thursday</a> stating otherwise, it seems that <em>TimeSplitters</em> and <em>Haze</em> developer Free Radical has yet to shuffle off this mortal coil. Things are apparently not as grim as the initial reports suggested -- well, okay, they were recently refused entry into their office, and have officially gone into <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administration_(insolvency)">"administration"</a>, which many would consider <em>quite grim indeed</em>. However, if the most recent report on the matter is to be believed, <a href="http://www.edge-online.com/news/%E2%80%9Csignificant-interest%E2%80%9D-shown-buying-free-radical">all hope is not lost for the once-Rad developer</a>.<br /><br />According to an employee at ReSolve, the administrator for Free Radical, there's already been a great deal of interest shown from publishers who want to purchase the developer, acquiring their assets and (remaining) employees. This interest largely stems from two undisclosed projects the developer had under their wing during their collapse, which many believe to be new entries into the <em>Timesplitters</em> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/23/lucasarts-joining-forces-with-free-radical/"><em>Star Wars Battlefront</em> franchises</a>. The rumored involvement of <em>Battlefront</em> is enough for us to hold out hope for an old-fashioned Christmas miracle.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/21/free-radical-not-quite-ready-to-call-it-quits/">'Significant interest' shown in purchasing Free Radical</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 21 Dec 2008 14:00:00 EST. It's being reported by various UK based news sites that Free Radical, developer of the <em>TimeSplitters</em> series and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/haze"><em>Haze</em></a>, has closed its doors for good. No one has received confirmation from the developer either way, as they don't seem to be answering their phones, but judging from anecdotal evidence, it's not looking good. Forum-goers over at Eurogamer are saying that the locks on the doors have been changed and Develop's sources are saying "something" happened at the developer this morning.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.developmag.com/news/30996/No-future-for-Free-Radical">Develop</a> is posturing that the closure, if true, is probably a result of <em>Haze</em> being a commercial and critical flop. Not only that, but the word is that their Lucasarts collaberation (<em>Star Wars BattleFront 3</em>) is reported to have been cancelled and they were having trouble finding a publisher for <em>TimeSplitters 4</em>. Sadly, it seems that game will now never see the light of day. We'll update this story as soon as we get confirmation either way but, as we say, it's not looking good. It's a sad day and we feel for anyone who has lost their job -- especially this close to Christmas.<br /><br /><strong>[UPDATE]</strong> We've received confirmation that Free Radical has, indeed, closed its doors. This is no longer a rumor. <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/free-radical-design-latest-to-face-financial-trouble">GameIndustry.biz is reporting</a> that <em>Star Wars Battlefront 3</em> has been passed on to PSP <em>Battlefront</em> developer Rebellion.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/18/rumor-free-radical-design-shuts-up-shop/">Rumor: Free Radical Design closes shop</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Dec 2008 09:30:00 EST. The haze is lifting and numerous UK gaming outlets are reporting that <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/free-radical">Free Radical</a>, based in Nottingham, England, has shut down. The studio has yet to confirm, but according to <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/free-radical-design-latest-to-face-financial-trouble">sources</a>: the doors are locked, phones aren't being answered, and the staff met at a nearby hotel today for a "final company meeting."<br /><br />Free Radical's last project was the critical and commercial failure, <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/haze">Haze</a></em>. <em>TimeSplitters 4</em> and an unannounced project (believed to be <em>Star Wars: Battlefront III</em>) were currently in development at the studio. We'll update as soon as the studio makes a statement.<br /><br /><strong>Update: </strong><a href="http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/homenews/185-jobs-risk-games-company/article-558753-detail/article.html">Confirmed</a>. <div align="left">"Every game has a sequel." Oh, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/heavenly-sword">if only</a> that were true. In the case of <em>Timesplitters: Future Perfect</em>, however, it is. <em>Timesplitters 4</em> is well and truly in production. We're happy about it, but not as optimistic as we might have been before <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/haze">a certain</a> narcotic-and-war-condemning title was released over Summer. Still, our hopes are high that Free Radical's next project will be a little less pretentious and a little more <em>fun</em>, like other <em>Timesplitters</em> games were. <br /><br />A <a href="http://www.frd.co.uk/timesplitters4/videos.php">new video</a> has appeared on the Free Radical website. It doesn't show a lot but, like the first teaser, it shows of more what we can expect from the game; monkeys and pop-culture parody. While the video is cute (particularly the very end), we desperately want to see some actual game footage. Still, a monkey in a suit is better than nothing. Right?</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">OK, we have a situation. Yahtzee's latest <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/zero-punctuation">Zero Punctuation</a> piece couldn't knock one out of the park with such a simple target like <a style="font-style: italic;" href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/haze">Haze</a>. Even standard reviews <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/21/metareview-haze/">did a good job</a> roasting it. The curmudgeon expat still trashes the game, but it's like he received a Nectar injection and was fighting the effects as he put together the review ... seriously, we're talking about the game that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/06/haze-down-to-40-at-gamestop/">can already be found for $40</a>. We're hoping this week's review is merely a hiccup and that <span style="font-style: italic;">Haze</span> will finally sink in on Yahtzee, making him go ballistic next week.<br /><br />Due to technical difficulties we are unable to post ZP after the break. Please click the image above to see this week's episode.<br /></div>

Well, what do you think is going to happen? The ever-popular Yahtzee gets his hands on the PS3 FPS <em>Haze</em>. Guess what happens next. One of our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/28/ps3-fanboy-review-haze/">biggest qualms</a> about <em>Haze</em> , apart from the wasted potential of the story, was that its biggest selling point (four player online co-op) didn't work properly. Bizarre error messages asking people to install a non-existent patch would pop up and prevent friends from playing with each other. Incredibly frustrating. Thankfully, the patch seems to have been released yesterday. A 51MB download updates the game to version 1.04 and removes the nasty co-op glitches. <br /><br />The patch plays around with your save file, so that you have to start from the beginning of the last level you got to, but that's a negligible annoyance to suffer in return for finally being able to play with all your buddies. It's just a shame about the timing. With <em>Metal Gear Solid 4</em> now out in all territories, we don't suspect <em>Haze </em>is going to get much of a look in for a while.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/12/haze-patch-fixes-online-co-op/">Haze patch fixes online co-op</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 12 Jun 2008 08:00:00 EST. Well, that didn't take too long, did it? Just a few weeks after the critics <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/21/only-the-most-positive-haze-reviews-here/">tore <em>Haze</em> apart</a>, it's getting a discount at <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/gs/weeklyad/current/060608/olfsi_060608-2.aspx">GameStop</a> retailers. Originally $60, the Free Radical FPS is dropping down to $40, with the guide dropping down to just $10. Sale prices don't go into effect until next week, so we're certain you can restrain yourselves just a few days before rushing to GameStop in total excitement.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> <em>Haze</em> is already $40 at <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000SQ5LQE/102-5946304-2779329?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;linkCode=xm2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creativeASIN=B000SQ5LQE">amazon.com<br /><br /></a>[Thanks, Mike!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/06/haze-already-dropping-to-40/">Haze already dropping to $40 [Update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Jun 2008 15:30:00 EST. Developed by Free Radical, the ex-Rare employees responsible for the excellent <span style="font-style: italic;">Timesplitters</span> series, <span style="font-style: italic;">Haze</span> has been a long time coming. The game has suffered from multiple delays as well as exclusivity confusion over the last year. <em>Haze</em> promised to deliver an immersive story, balanced multiplayer and seamless online and offline co-op play. It was also backed up by some excellent live-action trailers.<br /><br />Unfortunately, it becomes apparent whilst playing the game that, while the team at Free Radical may have reached for excellence, they have either fallen short or made some bad decisions with regards to the execution of many aspects of the title. <span style="font-style: italic;">Haze</span> isn't a bad game and, despite some shortcomings, can be enjoyable and thought provoking. But is it as good as the hype suggested? Frankly, no. Read on to find out why.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/28/ps3-fanboy-review-haze/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PS3 Fanboy review: Haze</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/28/ps3-fanboy-review-haze/">PS3 Fanboy review: Haze</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 28 May 2008 12:00:00 EST. Played the game and thought it wasn't all that bad? Or just looking for a new outfit that just screams "you"? Check out Universal Designs' new <em>Haze</em> Costume: now <a href="http://www.universaldesigns.ca/custom/haze.htm">you can be a Mantel soldier</a> overdosing on some mad Nectar (sold separately in your neighborhood grocer; the label says Honey just to trick the masses). Our only issue is a design flaw meant to keep you comfortable: the helmet is insanely huge compared to the cranium-hugging ones in the video game. Otherwise, nice.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/22/stick-it-to-the-reviews-buy-a-real-haze-outfit-be-a-mantel-sol/">Stick it to the reviews: buy a real Haze outfit, be a Mantel soldier</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 22 May 2008 01:30:00 EST. Our comments section exploded yesterday, when we ran a piece about <em>Haze</em>'s initial reviews. The first reviews were rather scathing towards the PS3 "exclusive" FPS, and many accused us of anti-PS3 sentiment (in spite of us not having written <em>any</em> of those reviews). To make you feel better, we've chosen only the <em>best</em> reviews from <em>Haze</em>'s <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/haze">Metacritic</a> page. <strike>We won't tell you that <em>Haze</em>'s average Metacritic score is 54.</strike><br />

As a few readers pointed out, apparently the Japanese magazine Famitsu awarded its lucrative <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3167832">Gold rating</a> to the game. Considering how much the Japanese love FPS games, this is a rather stellar accomplishment. With the game on store shelves today, we'd love to hear more about your <em>Haze</em> experiences in our comments section.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/21/only-the-most-positive-haze-reviews-here/">Only the most positive Haze reviews here</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 May 2008 14:30:00 EST. There was a not unconsiderable amount of debate about <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Haze/">Haze</a></em> yesterday, with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/megaowch-haze-handed-4-5-review-by-ign/">IGN giving it a 4.5</a> and Free Radical Design's feelings being <em>terribly</em> hurt. (We believe "MEGAowch" was the soon-to-be-a-meme that was used.) Now there's a wider spectrum of reviews available and while scores fall on both sides of the 4.5 mark, all the reviewers seem to be wishing there was a clever way of fitting the word "meh" into "Haze." (There isn't yet, but we've got our top people on it.)
<ul>
    <li><a href="http://www.giantbomb.com/2008/05/20/winners-dont-use-drugs/">Giant Bomb</a> <strong>(40/100):</strong> "<em>Haze</em> attempts to deal with the concept of wartime propaganda and how troop morale is the most important thing an army can have. But it does it in such a blatant way that it's hard to care about the point the game's story is trying to make. Tack on a short campaign, dull weapons, lame enemy artificial intelligence, and lackluster multiplayer options and you're left with a game that occasionally looks nice, but not much else."</li>
    <li><a href="http://www.avclub.com/content/games/haze"></a><a href="http://www.gameinformer.com/NR/exeres/AFF1EFEC-A083-46FD-93BD-2F834CAB6739.htm">Game Informer</a> <strong>(64/100): </strong>"Though the drug Nectar hardly makes <em>Haze</em> a good game, when Free Radical takes it away a quarter of the way through, the game world suddenly feels barren, and you long for one last hit to make the drab experience mildly interesting again. So much for Haze being a killer app for the PS3."<br /></li>
    <li><a href="http://www.gamershell.com/ps3/haze/review.html">Gamer's Hell</a> <strong>(65/100):</strong> "Free Radical's newest FPS tries to push boundaries, in both the technical and philosophical senses, but what we're left with is a game which doesn't do much to fuel the PS3's cause."</li>

With its long development time and PS3-exclusive status, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Haze/">Haze</a> </em>has had a lot riding on its shoulders. If a new <a href="http://ps3.ign.com/articles/875/875229p1.html">review</a> by IGN is any indication, the game seems to have been crushed by the weight. The site gave <em>Haze</em> a paltry 4.5 out of 10, calling the effort a "middling, generic first-person shooter with bland visuals, a weak plot and laughable characters."<br /><br />Developer Free Radical Design <a href="http://www.psu.com/Dev-responds-to-IGNs-Haze-review---+quot;MEGAowch+quot;-News--a0003714-p0.php">leapt to the defense</a> of its game, telling PSU, "<em>Haze</em> has had mixed reviews, but even <em>GoldenEye</em> got a 4/10 when it first came out. With a 9/10 in the Italian PSM, and an extremely positive review in Famitsu [34/40, fyi], we're looking forward to people playing <em>Haze</em> and making a judgment for themselves."<br /><br />We're currently compiling such judgments from across the netweb for a metareview. We'll let you know when there's something approximating a consensus.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/megaowch-haze-handed-4-5-review-by-ign/">MEGAowch: Haze handed 4.5 review by IGN</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 20 May 2008 11:00:00 EST. Many PS3 gamers are excited for <em>Haze</em>, the PS3 "exclusive" FPS from Free Radical. Since the launch of the playable demo, opinions have been mixed: some loved the instant-action multiplayer offerings, while others were underwhelmed by the core gameplay mechanics of the game. While these initial reviews aren't necessarily representative of the critical mass, they do point towards a less-than-favorable outcome for this anticipated game.<br />
<ul>
    <li><strong><a href="http://ps3.ign.com/articles/875/875229p1.html">IGN</a> (45/100)</strong> - "While their previous work was quite excellent, <em>Haze </em>is anything but, coming across as a middling, generic first-person shooter with bland visuals, a weak plot and laughable characters."</li>
    <li><strong><a href="http://www.gamershell.com/ps3/haze/review.html">GamersHell</a> (65/100)</strong> - "<em>Haze</em> is still sitting in the wake of <em>Call of Duty 4</em>, and falls into that category of being just another FPS. The game tries to include different content with Nectar abilities and rebel dynamics, but a confused story, lacking gameplay elements and technical bugs bog the game down from being a stellar PS3 exclusive."</li>
    <li><strong><a href="http://www.avclub.com/content/games/haze">The A.V. Club</a> (C+)</strong> - "More narratively cohesive than the <em>Halo</em> trilogy, but less inventive and compelling than <em>Resistance: Fall Of Man</em> ... too bad it's paired with one of the more pedestrian FPS games to come along in recent years."</li>

<p>This is one of the strange, most unique promos we've seen for any video game -- and we love it. <em>Haze Multiplayer Date</em> is a <em>Haze</em>themed dating show. Yes, strange, no? We don't know who greenlit this promo, but we have to give props to Ubisoft and Free Radical to do something we haven't seen on the internet. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk"><em>Warhawk</em></a> isn't the only PS3 exclusive to get its own <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/19/ggl-announces-official-warhawk-tournament/">official tournament</a>. Thanks to a partnership between GGL and Ubisoft, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/haze"><em>Haze</em></a> will be getting the same treatment. The 4v4 tournament will start properly on June 4th, prior to which a practice ladder will be running for people to get to grips with the game. Again, if you need help finding team mates, a forum has been set up on the GGL website for just that purpose.<br /><br />The top 64 squads on the ladder when it closes on July 13th will be put forward to the elimination bracket and will compete to win the $5000 Grand Prize. Free Radical has confirmed that ambiguously exclusive PlayStation 3 shooter, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/haze"><em>Haze</em></a>, will not be the source of standard, high-definition visuals. Speaking to <a href="http://www.ripten.com/2008/05/18/free-radical-confirms-final-haze-resolution/">Ripten</a>, Creative Lead Derek Littlewood explained that, much like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/28/halo-3-not-hd-runs-at-640p-pixel-counters-claim/">other</a> sub-HD <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/22/call-of-duty-4-not-hd-only-600p-claim-pixel-counters/">games</a>, the 1024x576 resolution was chosen to ensure "a nice smooth framerate." Says Littlewood: "Well, as you develop an engine you're aiming for a certain thing, but as all the pieces slot into place, you end up realising what sort of resolution you can run it at and that's where we ended up with for Haze."<br /><br />Though the PlayStation 3 will upscale 576p images to 720p (1280x720), it's unlikely to provide Free Radical's penance in the eagle eyes of pixel-counting pedants. With any luck, people will be too busy complaining about <em>geebees</em> to notice the lack of <em>pees</em>, as Ubisoft also <a href="http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7551024144/m/6491039546/p/1">confirmed</a> that <em>Haze</em> will require a 4GB installation. Look forward to discussions involving the game's more obscure features (gameplay, story, blah blah blah) once it's out on May 20.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=141073">Eurogamer</a>]<br /><br /><a href="http://www.ripten.com/2008/05/18/free-radical-confirms-final-haze-resolution/">Read</a> -- Not very many Ps<br /><a href="http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7551024144/m/6491039546/p/1">Read</a> -- Too many GBs<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/19/haze-says-no-to-hd-yes-to-hdd/">Haze says no to HD, yes to HDD</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 May 2008 12:25:00 EST. Heck, many games aren't meeting the standard 720p HD resolution, either. For example, <em>Grand Theft Auto IV</em> runs at <a href="http://www.ripten.com/2008/05/18/free-radical-confirms-final-haze-resolution/">640p on PS3</a>. While these kind of shortcomings don't impact the overall visual fidelity, many gamers are still up in arms about these missing pixels.<br /><br /><em>Haze</em> is the next game to fall under the careful watch of videophiles. The recently released demo, when scrutinized, is shown to be running at 576p. Free Radical's Derek Littlewood confirmed to <a href="http://www.ripten.com/2008/05/18/free-radical-confirms-final-haze-resolution/">Ripten</a> that the final game also runs in a lower resolution. "That's where we ended up with for <em>Haze </em>... but I don't understand why people care whether there's 20 pixels, 50 pixels, or 100 pixels more."<br /><br />Other games, like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/22/call-of-duty-4-not-hd-only-600p-claim-pixel-counters/"><em>Call of Duty 4</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/28/halo-3-not-hd-runs-at-640p-pixel-counters-claim/"><em>Halo 3</em> on Xbox 360</a>, have used lower resolutions to improve overall visual effects. It should be up to every gamer to decide, with their own eyes, whether or not the lowered resolution has created a diminished visual experience for <em>Haze</em>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://digg.com/playstation/Free_Radical_Confirms_Final_Haze_Resolution_576p">Digg</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/19/more-pixel-counting-haze-runs-at-576p/">More pixel counting: Haze runs at 576p</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 May 2008 12:00:00 EST. Promising to deliver exactly what it says on the tin -- a full week of in-depth <em>Haze</em> coverage, there'll be plenty of exclusive content as well as a big competition to come. PS3 Attitude has kicked off the week with <a href="http://www.ps3attitude.com/2008/05/haze-week-5-things-you-may-not-know.html">an article</a> titled "Five things you may not know about <em>Haze." </em>Be sure to check back to the site for more coverage throughout the week.<br /><br />PS3 Attitude has also announced that it will be closely affiliating itself with the new UK charity <a href="http://www.mcvuk.com/news/30578/New-UK-games-charity-launches">Games Aid</a>. So much so, in fact, that they will be swapping their attitude for a little <em>altitude</em> as they organise Jump 2008, a money raising sky-dive for "the people behind PS3 Attitude, plus a carefully selected crew of gamers and gaming industry contacts." If you want to take part in the event on August 31st, there are a few spaces up for grabs. It was a close call for the featured pick this week, and not because we don't see the value in people getting healthy with <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Wii-Fit/">Wii Fit</a></em>. But the Joystiq moms and wives all agree that we're perfect <em>just the way we are</em>, so the stereotype perpetuators among us will continue to rock the hearty keg or spindly champagne flute look in lieu of a six-pack.<br /><br />Check out all of this week's releases, like <em>Haze </em>on the PS3 and (finally) <em>Garfield: Lasagna World Tour </em>on the PS2, right after the break.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/wii-fit-1/">Wii Fit</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/wii-fit-1/#310526"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/07/dscf3426_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/wii-fit-1/#310527"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/07/dscf3425_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/wii-fit-1/#310528"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/07/dscf3428_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/19/new-games-this-week-wii-fit-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New games this week: Wii Fit edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/19/new-games-this-week-wii-fit-edition/">New games this week: Wii Fit edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 May 2008 09:55:00 EST. <div align="left">It's been a long time coming, but <em>Haze</em> finally makes it out this week. Free Radical's story driven FPS has been delayed almost countless times since its intended release last November. Now, at last, we're able to begin a Nectar bender that will, hopefully, last until June 12th. Here's the full release list: </div>

Americans can also look forward to the release of <em>SingStar</em>, a game their cousins across the pond have been enjoying since before Christmas. We look forward to seeing videos of drunken Americans popping up on My <em>SingStar</em> Online over the next few weeks. We've noticed that Play.com are already stating that <em>Haze</em> is in stock and ready to be dispatched. No idea if that means you'll get it before Friday, but it's worth a try.<br /><br />Not that you need to, considering <em>Haze</em> has a global release, but feel free to import any of the above games. Your PS3 will run them all. Release dates are constantly subject to change, so make sure to check with your local retailer before doing anything rash.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/18/worldwide-ps3-releases-for-the-week-of-may-18th/">Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of May 18th</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 18 May 2008 18:00:00 EST. It's almost a trend and almost always a hassle -- especially when it comes to hard drive space (we're so very sorry, 20GB PS3 owners!). The size of Ubisoft's oft-delayed shooter is <a href="http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7551024144/m/6491039546/p/17">going to be in the realm of 4GB's</a>. Time to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/capcom-on-dmc4-installation-whats-the-big-deal/">make a sandwich</a>, huh? Well, love it or hate it, just be ready to let the game web itself into your PS3 for a while before you get crackin' on killin' those Mantel troops. It sure would be a bummer to break it out of its shrink-wrap at a party only to make everyone wait. While Free Radical's game doesn't come out until later this month, fans can avail of some <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/haze/">Haze</a></em> goodies right now ... and tomorrow as well. At the moment, you can download funny <em>Haze</em> wallpapers (like the one pictured above) <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/2490212921/">right here</a> for your own personal amusement. There are four in total and they all come in multiple sizes. <br /><br />If having a half-naked Mantel soldier taking a dump on your computer screen isn't enough to satiate your love for <em>Haze</em>, then you'll have to wait for tomorrow's PSN update for more. A <em>Haze</em> theme for your PS3 will be included in the regularly scheduled North American update. Hopefully, that one doesn't involve any toilets.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/14/humorous-haze-wallpaper-are-ready-for-flushing-er-download/">Humorous Haze wallpapers are ready for flushing ... er, download</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 May 2008 18:30:00 EST. We're sure PS3 owners can carve out a little time today from all the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/Grand-Theft-Auto-IV/"><em>GTA IV</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/echochrome"><span style="font-style: italic;">echochrome</span></a> playing to check out the demo for "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/19/haze-ps3-exclusivity-clouds-over-again/">exclusive</a>" shooter <em>Haze</em>. Of course, what most are probably excited about is that <em>PixelJunk Monsters</em>' <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/pixeljunk-monsters-expansion-invades-psn-this-week/">expansion</a> is out today at a reasonable $6 price. There are also plenty of other little interesting things in the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/05/08/playstation-store-update-33/">North Amercan update</a> that might pique some of your interests, and it can all be found after the break.<br /><br />The lists for this week's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/02/double-euro-psn-update-next-week/">double dose</a> of European PSN updates can be found over at <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/05/08/european-psn-store-releases-for-may-8th/">PS3 Fanboy</a>. <p>PlayStation Day 2008 is over but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/playstation-day-2008">our coverage continues</a>! We're also enjoying the spoils to be found on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/06/european-psn-store-playstation-day-2008-update/">European PlayStation Store</a>. In particular, we're talking about the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/haze">Haze</a></em> demo which we fired up and took out for a spin. North Americans without Euro accounts can get their nectar <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/haze-demo-available-in-the-us-tomorrow/">dosage tomorrow</a>. While we've played the demo and have written our thoughts here, reader Chris G. shares his gameplay footage through the <em>Haze</em> trial play. So read our thoughts and check out the vid (or not the vid, if you wish not to spoil the experience before you give it a go).<br /><br />The demo starts off with a firefight in the middle of the jungle. There's no real explanation as to why you're there but that doesn't matter too much for a demo. The controls are standard as far as shooters go, move with the left analog stick, aim with the right, and fire with a shoulder button. Left-handed players will be glad to see control options for them.<br /><br />Anyway, the thing that deviates from the typical formula is the inclusion of the nectar drug which heightens one's senses and actually makes killing easier. When you inject yourself will a limited supply of nectar, you can zoom in farther, your melee attack is stronger, and enemies glow a bright orange giving away their position. While this is a strategic enhancement, at times it does tend to feel more like a distraction deviating from the main action. We're sure the story aspect of nectar will be fleshed out through the final game, but it doesn't come through in the demo, which feels a bit like a heavy weight dragging the experience down.</p><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/ps3-fanboy-hands-on-haze/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PS3 Fanboy hands-on: Haze</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/ps3-fanboy-hands-on-haze/">PS3 Fanboy hands-on: Haze</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 May 2008 15:00:00 EST. It's been a long time coming, but Ubisoft's Free Radical-developed shooter, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/haze">Haze,</a> </em>has finally been given the demo treatment, with the publisher sending word that a single and multiplayer-flavored <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/15/haze-gets-may-demo-slightly-earlier-release/">demo</a> is now available over PSN in Europe and that the same hors d'oeuvre will make the rounds in the U.S. starting May 8. <br /><br />As if offering apology for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/20/haze-delayed-until-2008-brings-rainbow-six-vegas-2-with-it/"><em>Haze</em>'s</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/23/haze-release-clouds-over-ubisoft-pushes-game-into-next-year/">numerous</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/08/haze-release-still-hazy-but-ubisoft-says-before-april/">delays</a>, the demo will include both a sampling of the game's single player campaign called "Salva Region," as well as "drop-in drop-out" co-op multiplayer for up to four players online or over a LAN, or with two players via split-screen. We're sure that there is some "coming out of the haze" joke to be made here, but honestly, after months of waiting we're simply all joked out.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/haze-psn-demo-hits-in-europe-coming-to-us-tomorrow/">Haze PSN demo hits in Europe, coming to US tomorrow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 May 2008 11:00:00 EST. Jealous of Europe's PlayStation Day demo of <em>Haze</em>? Don't worry -- Free Radical's upcoming PS3 FPS game will be available to test in tomorrow's weekly PSN update. The demo, which clocks in at about 1.4GB, features two-player split-screen action and four-player online co-op. Will the game live up to its incredible hype when the masses finally have a chance to play the demo?<br /><br />
<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/haze-demo-available-in-the-us-tomorrow/">Haze demo available in the US tomorrow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 May 2008 10:45:00 EST. <p>You haven't heard? Korn has a new song for the upcoming PS3 FPS, <em>Haze</em>. (Haven't seen it? Watch it <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/24/awaken-to-the-sound-of-korns-haze-single/">here</a>.) Surprisingly, the interview is very mellow, and goes into how the band was "inspired" by <del>money</del> the game's unique story of revenge.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/05/this-haze-interview-is-korn-y/">This Haze interview is Korn-y</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 05 May 2008 11:30:00 EST. Gametrailers.com has teamed up with Ubisoft for a new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/haze"><em>Haze</em></a> contest. Starting today, <em>Haze</em> fans can download footage from the game and Korn and create new "mash-up" videos for prizes. This supposedly annual challenge is "a special project close to the heart of our CGO (chief gaming officer) Geoff Keighley." Seriously. The winning entry will be shown on GameTrailers TV.<br /><br />The first place winner will win a 46" Sony HDTV, a PS3 system, customized guitar signed by Korn, and $1,000. We're hoping Ubisoft's <em>Haze</em> <a href="http://hazegame.uk.ubi.com/experience/main.htm?uk">official website</a> is a good indicator on how much effort went into creating the game. While most official sites do little more than give a few screenshots and videos, the <em>Haze</em> site goes above and beyond, creating a truly cinematic experience that puts other sites to shame. Yes, you'll need a decently equipped rig to experience the site, but it's truly worthwhile.<br /><br />Prepare to be inundated by a surprising blast of videos and flashy animations. After a few clicks, you'll be thrust into your first interactive mission. Wow.<br /><br />If <em>Haze</em>, the video game, has the same production values as the website, then maybe it might actually be good. We'll all find out soon enough.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/29/the-very-awesome-haze-official-site/">The very-awesome Haze official site</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 Apr 2008 12:30:00 EST. We were initially indifferent when first told of nu metal rockers Korn's vocal enthusiasm for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/haze/" style="font-style: italic;">Haze</a>, or as vocalist Jonathan Davis so eloquently calls it, "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/23/korn-rocks-out-original-track-for-haze/">the shit</a>." However, after now <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/33176.html">exposing our ears</a> to the band's <span style="font-style: italic;">Haze</span>-inspired title track, we can't help but hope that the aural assault will be kept at an absolute minimum once Ubisoft pushes the game from out of the mist.<br /><br />The two and a half minute scream session not withstanding, the video does show off a bevy of CG and gameplay for Free Radical's overly-yellow shooter, which is currently circled -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/27/ubisoft-reneges-on-haze-release-date/">in pencil mind you</a> -- on our calender for release<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/15/haze-gets-may-demo-slightly-earlier-release/"> around May 20</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/10/haze-definitely-coming-may-23-says-ubisoft/">or so</a>, which should be right around the time our ears <span style="font-style: italic;">stop </span>ringing.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/24/korns-haze-inspired-music-assaults-our-ears/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Korn's Haze-inspired music assaults our ears</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/24/korns-haze-inspired-music-assaults-our-ears/">Korn's Haze-inspired music assaults our ears</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 Apr 2008 11:25:00 EST.
