Pricing has not been announced, but the stick runs for 13,800 yen ($170) in Japan.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/15/virtua-fighter-5-final-showdown-ps3-sticks-show-up-in-the-us-thi/">Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown PS3 sticks show up in the US this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 15 Apr 2012 01:30:00 EST. Your 3DS doesn't have to be naked while playing <a href="http://metal-gear-solid-3d-snake-eater"><em>Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D</em></a>. Accessory company Hori is releasing a suite of themed 3DS accessories, with which you can outfit your handheld to prepare it for the rigors of CQC.<br />
<br />
The Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D Accessory Set includes an olive drab pouch for the system and games, a set of camo stickers for the interior of the system, a "Protect Cover" for the exterior featuring Yoji Shinkawa's character art, and a stylus on a lanyard.<br />
<br />
In Japan, the Accessory Set will retail for &yen;2,981, out alongside the game on March 8. Hori accessories are often released stateside, to retailers like Amazon as well as Hori's own <a href="http://stores.horiusa.com/StoreFront.bok">store</a>, so it's quite likely you'll be able to do some on-site procurement of your own accessories.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/27/metal-gear-solid-3d-accessories-increase-your-3ds-camo-index/">Metal Gear Solid 3D accessories increase your 3DS camo index</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 27 Dec 2011 11:00:00 EST. In the market for a new fight stick? We know a guy -- well, okay, it's not so much a guy as a big, faceless corporation, but you get the point.<br />
<br />
Come December 8, you can snag Hori's custom <em>Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3</em> rig for $149.99, <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/brelston/blog/2011/11/16/ultimate_mvc3_hori_fighting_stick_incoming">Capcom-Unity</a> has revealed. There will be three different versions: the one with the colored buttons above, another with white buttons and a super deluxe edition with built-in cup holder and FM radio.<br />
<br />
Okay, fine, we made that last one up, but <em>how awesome would that be</em>? So awesome.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/22/horis-ultimate-marvel-vs-capcom-3-fight-stick-hitting-us-on-dec/">Hori's Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 fight stick hitting US on Dec. 8</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Nov 2011 00:00:00 EST. Remember how Mad Catz is going to make those <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/27/soulcalibur-5-fight-stick-coming-courtesy-of-mad-catz/">gorgeous</a>, dynamically styled <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/Soulcalibur-5"><em>Soulcalibur 5</em></a> themed fight sticks? Well, if shiny bevelled edges and an LED-ready see-through plastic casing aren't your jam, accessories manufacturer Hori has a rather minimalistic alternative: <em>The Soulcalibur 5 Joystick</em>.<br />
<br />
The stick's fancy name matches the rest of its aesthetic, and is slated for a January 2012 release, with versions being made for both the 360 and PS3. While Hori has yet to announce pricing or parts information, the size of the stick suggests that it will be similar to their Sanwa-packing $140 <a href="http://www.hori.jp/us/Products/XBOX360/Real%20Arcade%20Pro.VX%20SA/index.htm">Real Arcade Pro</a>. That's wild speculation on our part, of course, so while we're speculating let's go ahead and say that the stick is also filled with molasses. Gross, Hori!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/13/hori-making-soulcalibur-5-branded-fight-sticks/">Hori making Soulcalibur 5 branded fight sticks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 13 Nov 2011 10:30:00 EST. <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/mad-catz">Mad Catz</a> has some competition for Capcom fans' branded-controller budgets, in the form of two <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/ultimate-marvel-vs-capcom-3"><em>Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3</em></a> arcade sticks from Hori's Real Arcade Pro V series.<br />
<br />
Announced at an event in Japan, the stick features splash artwork of a bunch of <em>UMVC3</em> characters, and will be released in Japan on November 17. The PS3 version will sell for &yen;13,800, with the Xbox version costing &yen;2,000 more.<br />
<br />
Both the Hori RAP V series and the Mad Catz Tournament Edition S sticks feature genuine Sanwa internals, so the choice of whether to import one of these or a Mad Catz stick is basically personal. Do you want the lighter Hori stick, with a panel made to closely resemble a Vewlix arcade cabinet, or the more easily moddable FightStick? If that's too fiddly a distinction, of course there's always the distinction of "which stick looks nicer to you."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/01/hori-reveals-ultimate-marvel-vs-capcom-3-arcade-sticks/">Hori reveals Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 arcade sticks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 Nov 2011 15:00:00 EST. Oh, you're still worried about the unfortunate form factor of the Nintendo 3DS slide pad peripheral? That's old hat -- <a href="http://andriasang.com/comyqi/">Andriasang</a> recently uncovered an attachment which further turns the once sleek handheld into an unpocketable monstrosity: The Hori <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/mario-kart-7"><em>Mario Kart 7</em></a> steering wheel.<br />
<br />
The attachment, which carries the official Nintendo seal and will cost &yen;1,280 ($17), snaps onto the back of the handheld to give players who use the game's tilt-to-steer functionality a greater sense of ... realism? We guess? All we know is that it better come with a fanny pack to carry around its unwieldy frame, and then some sort of invisibility cloak to protect the wearer from being savagely beaten by <em>everyone who sees them</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/25/heres-the-mario-kart-7-steering-wheel-for-3ds/">Here's the Mario Kart 7 steering wheel for 3DS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 25 Oct 2011 12:45:00 EST. Peripheral maker Hori put a countdown page on its site leading to the reveal of an exciting mystery product ... and it's a new PS3 controller! Maybe the Hori Pad 3 Pro isn't the dramatic reveal we expected, but it looks like a pretty nice device.<br />
<br />
The Hori Pad 3 Pro builds on previous Hori controller offerings with a d-pad that can be rotated to provide the most comfortable position, as well as customizable d-pad input range. We don't really understand how that last one works, though it seems to involve setting the range between two directions at which a diagonal input is registered.<br />
<br />
It also features customizable analog stick sensitivity, three levels of turbo fire with a quick activation button on the back of the controller ... and, unfortunately, a wire. The Horipad Pro will be released in Japan on July 21. The peripheral company is producing another run of the &yen;30,000 ($344) Twin Stick EX, now bearing the <em>Virtual-On Force</em> logo and targeted at a winter release to coincide with that game.<br />
<br />
The current iteration of the stick is being sold only through preorders on <a href="http://www.hori.jp/manual/360_twinstick_kettei_order_201007/">Hori's website</a> between now and July 20, but we suspect a small number will find their way to importers, for those of you who started saving up the last time these sticks were announced and have only now managed to get enough money together.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/07/horis-twin-stick-ex-controller-returns-for-virtual-on-force/">Hori's Twin Stick EX controller returns for Virtual-On Force</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 Jul 2010 10:30:00 EST. The company had this "PS3 MMO Controller" on display at its E3 booth, featuring a rather insane-looking tabletop left-hand thing, and a keyboard with PS3 analog stick and face buttons attached. <br />
<br />
We say Hori is getting ready for <em>FFXIV</em>, but it's not ready <em>yet</em>. This controller was a "concept model" only, with no information about a release date or price.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/18/a-massive-controller-for-massively-multiplayer-ps3-games/">A massive controller for massively multiplayer PS3 games</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Jun 2010 00:00:00 EST. It used the normal Wii Remote/Nunchuk setup. Now, Square Enix is preparing a Wii port of <a href="http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2010/04/14/dragon-quest-victory-attacks-wii-this-summer-in-japan/"><em>Dragon Quest Monsters Battle Road Victory</em></a>, an arcade game based on collectible cards. For <em>that</em>, peripheral company Hori is producing a controller shaped like a sword.<br />
<br />
The optional controller, first shown off on VJump magazine's <a href="http://www.vjumpbooks.com/staffblog/headlines.php?subaction=showfull&amp;id=1273464794&amp;archive=&amp;start_from=&amp;ucat=2&amp;">staff blog</a>, features an exact replica of the arcade machine's layout, including two giant buttons and a replica sword hilt, which players push down to activate special attacks. The controller will retail for &yen;12,800 ($137) and will be out in Japan this summer. Keep an eye on your favorite import retailer if you've been waiting for a controller with part of a sword sticking out of it.<br />

If you're looking to take your god-slaying, tiny planet-creating, Blu-ray-watching console on the go, but lack the fungible assets required to purchase <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/03/ben-hecks-ps3-slim-laptop-going-for-broke-on-ebay/">one of Ben Heck's laptops</a>, Japanese electronics manufacturer Hori may have another solution for you. The company recently <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/06/ps3-meets-hori-lcd-dock-good-things-happen/">unveiled the HP3-87 LCD dock</a>, a Sony-licensed peripheral which attaches a slick 1,366 x 768 pixel screen and stereo speakers to your PS3 Slim.<br />
<br />
The device, which is also compatible with the successful <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/torne">Torne DVR peripheral</a>, will come out in Japan on May 27 for &yen;26,040 ($276). We haven't heard anything about plans for an international release -- not that we'd be psyched to plop a burning hot PS3 on our lap during our morning commute.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/06/hori-makes-lcd-screen-for-portable-ps3-experience/">Hori makes LCD screen for portable PS3 experience</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 06 Apr 2010 12:00:00 EST. The Real Arcade Pro Premium VLX series will be released in Japan this March in <a href="http://www.hori.jp/products/multi/controller/rap_premium_vlx/360.html">Xbox 360</a> and <a href="http://www.hori.jp/products/multi/controller/rap_premium_vlx/PS3.html">PS3</a> versions, for &yen;30,000 ($330) -- a price that ensures that it's for fighting game nerds <em>only</em>.<br />
<br />
But what do said nerds <em>get</em> for their money, besides <em>obvious</em> proof that they've spent a lot? An <em>enormous</em> controller patterned after the control panel in Taito's <a href="http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=thumbs&amp;db=videodb&amp;id=5378">Vewlix</a> arcade cabinet -- the cabinet used for <em>Street Fighter IV</em> machines. It comes equipped with arcade-standard Sanwa buttons and joystick, and features a flip-up panel for wiring access and extra button storage (in case you want to remove some to create an authentic button layout for a particular game). <br />
<br />
Importer Play-Asia will carry <a href="http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dd-49-en-70-3py3.html">both</a> <a href="http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zl-77-1-49-en-15-vlx-70-3py1.html">versions</a> of the VLX, but currently has no pricing information. Expect to pay a lot for shipping, on account of the bigness.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/04/new-hori-arcade-sticks-are-large/">New Hori arcade sticks are large</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Feb 2010 20:00:00 EST. At its booth in the Tokyo Game Show shopping area, accessories maker Hori handed out a pamphlet introducing its new Real Arcade Pro V and other joysticks.<br />
<br />
Few details are included in the pamphlet: we know it weighs 3 kilograms and features a Sanwa JLF joystick and Hori buttons, and that it should be in Japanese stores sometime this winter. The mock-up image even uses Roman numerals for the button labels instead of <em>anything</em> that would identify the platform.<br />
<br />
In addition, new mid-range sticks for PS3 and 360 are due out this winter for 5,500 and 6,980, respectively -- a price discrepancy that suggests that wireless technology is involved, based on the historical evidence of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/06/memo-shows-20-gap-in-xbox-and-ps3-rock-band-guitar/"><em>Rock Band</em></a> guitars. See all three sticks after the break, along with some gigantic Taito-licensed stick that was on display at the Hori booth.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/26/tgs-2009-the-next-generation-of-real-arcade-pro-joysticks/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>TGS 2009: The next generation of Real Arcade Pro joysticks</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/26/tgs-2009-the-next-generation-of-real-arcade-pro-joysticks/">TGS 2009: The next generation of Real Arcade Pro joysticks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 26 Sep 2009 11:30:00 EST. At $150 -- including a copy of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tekken-6"><em>Tekken 6</em></a>, mind you -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/22/tekken-6-wireless-sticks-revealed-priced/">Hori's upcoming arcade sticks</a> for the fighter's sixth iteration look to be a pretty decent deal for those of you still interested in picking up a fighting stick. Coming straight out of Namco's conference at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gamescom-2009">GamesCom</a>, we were given an opportunity to check out the <em>Tekken 6</em> arcade stick. Lucky you, we've also snapped a few pics and added them to the gallery you see below. If you haven't spent all your money buying <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/07/mad-catz-reveals-street-fighter-iv-controllers-accessories/"><em>Street Fighter IV</em> controllers</a>, Namco Bandai has a new arcade stick for you to invest in. The official <em>Tekken 6</em> Wireless Fight Stick Bundle bundles the upcoming game with an art book and a wireless stick made by HORI. The set will be available at various nationwide retailers, and will cost $150 for either the PS3 or Xbox 360 version.<br /><br />In addition to revealing the official arcade stick for the game, Namco Bandai also released 33 new screenshots of the game, showcasing some of the new characters featured in <em>Tekken 6</em>. Our favorite character? The new controller combines the designs of the GameCube and Classic controllers, with the former's general shape, stick layout and shoulder buttons, and the latter's face button layout and Wii-specific extra buttons. It also has individual autofire switches for each button, which make it look scary, like a mini <a href="http://www.steelbattalion.org/controller.php"><em>Steel Battalion</em> controller</a> or something.<br /><br />Black and white versions of this controller will be available starting November 27, and a light blue version will follow on December 4. All will cost 2,980 yen ($30.50). Play-Asia is currently taking <a href="http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-113-77-2-49-en-15-hori+classic-70-33zc.html">preorders</a> for $29.90. <br /><br />This looks ideal for people who like the feel of the GameCube controller but hate the scrambled button layout -- or for people who want to artificially boost their performance in the myriad shmups on the VC.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/14/hori-making-cube-style-classic-controller/">Hori making Cube-style Classic Controller</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 14 Nov 2008 09:00:00 EST. When you're looking for a case for your DS, or another non-gameplay-oriented accessory (strap, screen cleaner, sticker, etc.), do you tend toward mass-produced products, like the generally excellent ones from Hori or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/23/finally-ds-lite-accessoies-for-gothic-lolitas/">Keys Factory</a>, or the <a href="http://renchi.com/renchi/NINTENDO_DS_DS_Lite_Accessories_DS_Lite_Slipon_Puff_Case_Blue_Tomy_Licensed.htm">bizarre puffy ones</a> from Tomy? Or do you prefer a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/10/rest-your-ds-in-these-oldschool-pouches/">one-of-a-kind</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/18/recipe-for-a-smile-grab-one-of-these-cases/">homemade</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/08/this-case-is-hungry-for-handhelds/">item</a> from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/cases-critterized/">Etsy</a>?<br /><br />Or are you like us -- you <em>would</em> prefer a nice handmade one, but for whatever reason you bought a Hori case instead, and now you feel kind of guilty for some unspecified reason? You're probably not like us.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/04/ds-daily-case-couture/">DS Daily: Case couture</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 04 Aug 2008 09:00:00 EST. In preparation of Namco Bandai's upcoming fighting game, Hori is set to release an arcade pad in the US. There are a few things of note of this peripheral, as noted by <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2008/06/09/hori-brings-soulcalibur-iv-arcade-sticks-to-north-america/">Siliconera</a>. Firstly, the PS3 pad is <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018OCJ60/102-5946304-2779329?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;linkCode=xm2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creativeASIN=B0018OCJ60">only $50</a> (as opposed to the Xbox 360's $60 controller). Secondly, Hori hasn't announced plans to bring this to Japan. Could the tables have finally turned? Strange!<br /><br />Hardcore fighting fans swear by arcade pads, opting not to use standard controllers. We'll see if <em>Soulcalibur IV</em> dominates the competitive fighting scene when it releases at the end of next month.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/09/hori-bringing-soulcalibur-arcade-sticks-to-us/">Hori bringing Soulcalibur arcade sticks to US</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 09 Jun 2008 16:00:00 EST. Just yesterday, NCSX began taking preorders on adorable <em>Dragon Quest </em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/19/another-way-to-get-dragon-quest-into-your-ds/">slime DS Lite styli</a>. Today, they've revealed a thematically appropriate companion piece: this <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/09/dragon-quest-v-heavenly-screens/"><em>Dragon Quest V</em></a> DS protector. Much like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/08/neat-accessory-sets-of-innocence/">other</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/08/neat-accessory-sets-of-innocence/">Hori Protect Cases</a>, this is a transparent hard plastic cover for the DS, with attractive monochrome artwork on the top. This one features artwork of the Hero and the game's logo, and looks cooler than we expect things with Akira Toriyama art on them to look. This one doesn't come with any other accessories, which in our minds is just another excuse to <em>go ahead and spend the $7</em> on a Slime Stylus.<br />
<br />
The <em>Dragon Quest V </em>Accessory will ship in July for $13.90. Try not to scuff up your DS before then!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/more-dragon-quest-ds-decor-dqv-cover/">More Dragon Quest DS decor: DQV cover</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 20 May 2008 19:00:00 EST. When we last <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/01/hori-charge-stand-is-style-over-substance-just-our-thing/">previewed this accessory</a>, Play Asia had put up a product page promising to deliver the stylish dock to your doorstep for $16.90 (plus $5.90 s/h) once it debuted in Japan this month. <br /><br />Checking the online import shop earlier today, we spotted a pair of notable details, bad news and good news, if you will:.<br />
<ul>
    <li>Bad news: The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/charger">charging base's</a> shipping date has been moved to May</li>
    <li>Good news: There is now a listing for the White DS Lite Charge Stand bearing a US flag, scheduled for June and priced at $14.99. </li>
</ul>
Is Hori's North American arm planning to bring the dock to the states as it has with many of the company's other DS accessories? If so, it might worth waiting an extra month to pick up the Charge Stand at a local store for a few bucks less. Hit the gallery below for glamour shots of the White and Black models. <br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/06/hori-charge-stand-delayed-coming-to-america/">Hori Charge Stand delayed, coming to America?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 06 May 2008 22:35:00 EST. We don't own <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/11/cooking-navi-for-the-stuff-you-really-want-to-eat/"><em>Cooking Navi</em></a> and playing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/eba"><em>Elite Beat Agents</em></a> (or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ouendan"><em>Ouendan</em></a>) can be accomplished fairly easily by holding the DS with one of our hands and playing with the other. Then, we get an eye full of Hori's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/26/taiko-stand-master/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Taiko no Tatsujin</span> stand</a> and immediately felt the need to get one.<br /><br />We can't imagine what we'd use it for, so we figured we'd ask you! Who better to let us know the many uses of a DS stand than the fine folks who've been using one for awhile now. So, tell us how your DS rocks its stand.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/27/ds-daily-taking-a-stand/">DS Daily: taking a stand</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 27 Feb 2008 09:00:00 EST. The adjustable platform comes in red and has two holders for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/06/taiko-stylus-giveaway-reveals-control-method/">drumstick styli</a> that come with every copy of the original game. Also included in the kit is an adorable screen wipe <br /><br />The bundle may or may not also come packaged with the attachable banner of cheering characters -- we haven't decided yet if this would be distractingly goofy or <span style="font-style: italic;">awesome to the max</span>. <br /><br />Japan has already seen one <span style="font-style: italic;">Taiko</span> DS title release and has another coming, whereas every other country's DSes have been so far <span style="font-style: italic;">Taiko</span>-less. Thus, it's safe to assume that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/hori">Hori's</a> accessory won't appear in North American stores any time soon. Import shop Play-Asia, however, has the stand available for preorder (due April) for $19.90. Anything with the words <em>Monster</em> and <em>Hunter</em> together seems to sell well in Japan. One of the best selling games of last year is getting a psuedo-sequel of sorts, and Hori is poised to capitalize on the frenzy. Their upcoming PSP accessory pack is totally <em>Monster Hunter</em>-branded. You'll get a sweet looking <a href="http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20080208/hori02.htm">fleece cover</a>, some <a href="http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20080208/hori03.htm">headphones</a> and a <a href="http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20080208/hori04.htm">pouch</a>. It actually looks pretty damn good.<br /><br />It'll be available in Japan on March 27th for the price of 2,919? (about $27). Wait, that sounds like a great deal! Thankfully for <em>Monster Hunter</em> fans, it looks to be available for <a href="http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-57ld-71-bh-77-3-49-en-15-monster hunter-84-j-70-2g1c.html">pre-order</a> on import sites.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/13/hori-creates-monster-hunter-pack-will-make-money/">Hori creates Monster Hunter pack, will make money</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 Feb 2008 12:00:00 EST. <br />We're struggling to justify to ourselves the idea of purchasing one of Hori's new Charge Stands. After all, a standard wired power adapter -- like the one you get <em>totally free</em> with your DS -- does the same job. The only obvious advantage to owning one of these is that your DS can be displayed at a jaunty, kind of cool angle.<br /><br />We suppose this <em>is</em> a case of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/22/hori-ds-protector-combines-form-and-function/">form over function</a>, though we're not ashamed to still want one -- the DS is an attractive piece of kit, so why <em>shouldn't</em> we show it off? For <a href="http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-b5-49-en-70-2l5m.html">just under $17</a>, you can be as superficial as we are, though you will have to wait until April. Oh, and they only come in black or white, meaning any new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/01/cobalt-and-black-ds-lite-confirmed/">cobalt blue</a> DS owners might have to go without.<br /><br />[Thanks, Chris!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/01/hori-charge-stand-is-style-over-substance-just-our-thing/">Hori Charge Stand is style over substance, just our thing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 01 Feb 2008 20:00:00 EST. For us, the perfect DS protector would be something made of Kevlar and covered in hearts and plumbers. Just take a page of doodles out from your little sister's diary and you got what we're talking about, only that it's <em>bulletproof</em>. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/12/hori-summons-an-accessory-set-to-complement-final-fantasy-ivs-r/">Hori</a> has done an okay job, though, in trying to come up with a viable solution to those lacking any kind of <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8A3lauFI2Y">protection</a> for their DS. It's sleek and looks like it not only protects, but is pretty functional as well. All it needs are some stickers of hearts and unicorns. Or maybe some <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/15/doraemon-returns-from-the-future-to-make-your-ds-cute-again/"><em>Doraemon</em></a>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=33848">Go Nintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/22/hori-ds-protector-combines-form-and-function/">Hori DS protector combines form and function</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jan 2008 16:00:00 EST. The world's favorite <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doraemon">blue robot cat from the future</a> is back with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/06/new-doraemon-ds-lite-accessories/">more</a> stuff to put on your DS. The <em>Doraemon Waku Waku DS Accessory Set</em> includes a system shell, a card case, an extending stylus, and a screen-cleaning strap all bearing the adorable visage of Doraemon. The DS case has a repeating light blue Doraemon pattern that we think is pretty nice, and the card case features three Doraemons (Doraemen? Doraemans?) in cute poses.<br /><br />NCSX is taking preorders for this $23 accessory kit from Hori, to be sent out when it releases on March 6th. If you're looking to protect, clean, write on, and carry games with your DS, it seems like a good option.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/15/doraemon-returns-from-the-future-to-make-your-ds-cute-again/">Doraemon returns from the future to make your DS cute again</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 Jan 2008 20:00:00 EST. Despite <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/hori">Hori's</a> reputation for producing quality arcade joysticks for consoles, its $50 <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fightingstick/">Fighting Stick Wii</a> is just too expensive for many gamers. <br />Hori's USB Illumination Stand -- available in black and white -- seems straightforward, lighting up your Wii with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/LED/">LEDs</a> as it siphons power off the console. But what's with the $19.90 price tag at <a href="http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-10v-49-en-70-23ba.html">Play Asia</a> ($22.90 on <a href="http://www.ncsxshop.com/cgi-bin/shop/HWI-14.html">NCSX</a>), and why is that extra cord in the back also plugged into one of the system's two <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/USB/">USB</a> ports? Though you can't tell just by looking at it, the front flap of the base opens up to reveal a USB port powered by that extra hook-up. <br /><br />With the port conveniently positioned on the front, you can plug in a USB <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/keyboard">keyboard</a> or, one day, an <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=hard+drive&amp;searchsubmit=">external drive</a> without having to mess with the tangle of wires in the back. You can see a close-up of the hidden port and another shot of the base after the break.<br /><br />See also: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/21/put-your-wii-on-a-new-pedestal/">Put your Wii on a new pedestal</a><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/24/hori-takes-a-stand-and-puts-leds-in-it/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hori takes a stand (and puts LEDs in it)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/24/hori-takes-a-stand-and-puts-leds-in-it/">Hori takes a stand (and puts LEDs in it)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 24 Dec 2007 16:00:00 EST. <br />Another major RPG release for the DS, another <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Hori/">Hori</a> accessory set. This latest bundle for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=final+fantasy+iv"><em>Final Fantasy IV's</em></a> 3D remake comes packed with a trio of items you can buy to showcase your fanboyism and poor money management skills -- a protective system case, an <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/09/ds-daily-regular-or-extendable/">extendable stylus</a>, and an attachable screen wipe bearing the image of a chibi Rydia, FFIV's green-haired summoner. <br /><br />Like the game, this kit won't be available in Japan until December 20th, but import shop Play Asia is already taking preorders, charging $17.90 plus shipping. Gather your party, stock up on potions, and travel past the post break for more images from this official accessory set.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/12/hori-summons-an-accessory-set-to-complement-final-fantasy-ivs-r/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hori summons an accessory set to complement Final Fantasy IV's release</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/12/hori-summons-an-accessory-set-to-complement-final-fantasy-ivs-r/">Hori summons an accessory set to complement Final Fantasy IV's release</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Dec 2007 16:00:00 EST. We like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Hori/">Hori</a>'s <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/18/a-wonderfully-cheap-alternative-to-a-special-edition-ds/">themed Protect Cases</a>. They're an easy, inexpensive, and impermanent way to give your DS Lite a "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/20/show-and-tell-straight-outta-japan/">limited edition</a>" look. This way, you can deck out your DS like you spent $200 dollars on a bundle, but then if you decide that the game is terrible or something, you can just toss the cover and <em>not</em> have a constant reminder of your own folly on the top of your system.<br /><br />From the looks of it, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/25/tgs07-beautiful-new-tales-of-innocence-trailer/"><em>Tales of Innocence</em></a> won't be terrible, and so there will no doubt be an audience for this nice-looking set. It includes a clear Protect Case and a maroon <em>Tales of Innocence</em> extending stylus, for $23. It'll be released on December 6th.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/08/neat-accessory-sets-of-innocence/">Neat Accessory Sets of Innocence</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 08 Oct 2007 19:40:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/04/the-pride-of-our-pocket-protectors/">stylus</a> included in the package was released before for purchase, but is also now included in this new accessory bundle. Including another stylus and cartridge cases, as well as a case for the whole package, this new kit from Hori looks like it gets the job done.<br /><br />Isn't that the pain about cases, though? Once you think you've found your ideal case or organizer, another is released, perhaps looking more tempting or functional than that you already own?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=25924">Go Nintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/26/hori-releases-new-accessory-kit/">Hori releases new accessory kit</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 26 Sep 2007 10:40:00 EST. <br />Japanese site Game Watch got a hold of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/hori">Hori's Fighting Stick Wii</a>, posting photos of the arcade controller out of its box and in use at their office. They might as well have put up pictures of themselves caressing its white casing, smirking at the camera with a "you wish your life was as good as ours" look, shirt half unbuttoned to suggest the night ahead, for all the jealousy they've aroused in us. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/streetfighter">Quarter circle forward</a> past the post break break to see a couple of those images. <br /><br />The Wii remote dangling off of the arcade stick, unfortunately, isn't very attractive. We prefer not having to hook anything on for wireless controls, but we wouldn't have minded the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/classiccontroller">Classic-Controller</a>-styled setup if there was at least a way to unobtrusively attach the remote; it's not like there isn't any room inside the arcade stick's mostly empty shell.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/05/hori-fighting-stick-unboxed-and-in-the-nude/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hori Fighting Stick, unboxed and in the nude</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/05/hori-fighting-stick-unboxed-and-in-the-nude/">Hori Fighting Stick, unboxed and in the nude</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 05 Sep 2007 12:45:00 EST.
