Habbo census reveals PS3 to be 'Console of Choice' for teens

Those enlightened individuals who have experienced the rapidly metastasizing MMO hotel sim/social networking site known as Habbo (formerly Habbo Hotel) are already aware that the community for this "hangout for teens" is sizable, to say the least. Thus, when the Pixelated Nation of Habbonia endorses one of the current-gen consoles as being the "Console of Choice" for the teenaged, it resounds like the voice of a small nation -- albeit a nation of furniture-hording hotel dwellers.

Nearly 57,000 Habbonians took part in the survey late last year, where 69 percent of the pixelated participants gave the PlayStation 3 "great or good" rankings, followed by 64 percent for the Wii, and 58 percent for the Xbox 360. The Global Habbo Youth Survey went on to show that females preferred the Wii and Habbonians located in the Americas were more favorable to the Xbox 360 than their Eastern Hemisphere suitemates. Not exactly new information, but it is an excellent excuse for us to repeatedly type the word Habbonian.

Hotels offering Wii Sports, Guitar Hero, Xbox Live to guests

Video games in hotels are certainly nothing new -- we remember playing Nintendo 64 in Best Westerns for a hefty per-minute price. Fancier hotels, however, are looking to introduce more contemporary offerings through special partnerships with Nintendo and Microsoft, bringing titles like Wii Sports and Guitar Hero to more playful guests.

USA Today reports on a handful of hotels across the US which have begun incorporating more physical games into their services and offerings. Some offer hand-delivered consoles to rooms, while others like Hotel Monaco in Seattle host Guitar Hero nights at the bar, giving the title a social feel which can only draw further comparisons to karaoke.

Perhaps most interesting is Hotel Sax, which is working with Microsoft to create a special Xbox Live network, which will allow guests to play games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero with guests in other rooms, free of charge. Sounds pretty good to us. LAN party at the Hilton, anyone?

Berlin hotel offers cel-shaded room to guests

The Arte Luise Kunsthotel has to be one of the coolest hotels on the planet. Each room was designed by a different artist, and the prices won't require you to sell your PS3 for an overnight stay.

The room "Comic" looks like something out of Jet Set Radio Future, or maybe an A-Ha video. That's an actual photo of the room above. You can just imagine losing your depth perception and sense of realism there, and we can't think of a more perfect place to set up a game console. Preferably a Wii, because anything with more horsepower would overpower the room.

Check out some of the other rooms in the place, it's a real trip. Next time we're in Berlin, Joystiq calls dibs on this room and "Future Comfort". That shower looks like something out of Terry Gilliam's Brazil.
