Even though it's a parody on anime and video games, it's probably best to prepare an insulin shot before listening to catchy saccharin lyrics like, "Yuri the only one for me, You and I make Nintendo Wii." <br /><br />We've done our bit of warning and absolve ourselves of any issues resulting from watching the music video. We're not to blame when your head hits the pillow tonight and you suddenly start humming the song and telling your significant other they're "priceless like a PS3."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/tonights-most-american-otaku-music-video/">Tonight's most American otaku music video</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Apr 2008 01:01:00 EST. Since the term was first <a href="http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2005/09/12">coined by Penny Arcade</a>, we've been seeing the phenomenon <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/14/screenshot-half-truths/">absolutely</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/15/ea-shows-clearest-bullshot-in-a-long-time/">everywhere</a>. Well, tonight we're here to tell you something potentially obvious but nonetheless important -- the bullshot phenomenon doesn't apply exclusively to screenshots. It can be applied to videos as well.<br /><br />Case in point, the new <a href="http://gamevideos.com/video/id/17523">"debut" trailer for <span style="font-style: italic;">TrackMania DS</span></a>. Sure, the trailer doesn't exactly purport to be a direct feed video from the DS screen. But between the super-shiny, high-resolution cars racing out of the DS' GBA slot and the disembodied stylus creating a dynamically winding track, the line between marketing and outright lying is a little too fune for our tastes. Now we just wish we had a term for this specific phenomenon. Vide-lie? Fabrica-trailer? Prevarica-deo? We're stumped.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/15/todays-least-representative-video-trackmania-ds-trailer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Today's least representative video: TrackMania DS trailer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/15/todays-least-representative-video-trackmania-ds-trailer/">Today's least representative video: TrackMania DS trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 15 Feb 2008 01:30:00 EST. <br />After offending the easily offendable with slightly off-screen sex in <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5mfVwZP01k"><em>God of War</em></a> and <em><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B63pcKYYzA">God of War II</a>, </em>it seemed like a no-brainer that the somewhat adult mini-game would making a return for the PSP's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/07/god-of-war-chains-of-olympus-umd-capitates-march-4-08/"><em>Chains of Olympus</em></a>. Well, that mini-game has now been revealed through an <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/30542.html">NSFW video</a> posted of GameTrailers.<br /><br />This time around, the urn and peeing statue that maintained the camera's focus in games past have been replaced with a deliciously suggestive candle (pictured above), which we have to say is an improvement. We can't help but wonder, though, where they'll go next for their suggestive imagery. <a href="http://www.paperclip.org.uk/images/misc/phallic.jpg">Rock formations</a>? <a href="http://www.mamarazi.com/fun/images/phallic.jpg">Vegetables</a>? <a href="http://blog.miragestudio7.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/phallic_dick_building.jpg">A lighthouse</a>? Hmmm, they'll probably be OK.<br /><br /><strong>Warning: The below video contains adult content.</strong><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/13/todays-least-safe-for-work-video-chains-of-olympus-sex-game/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Today's least safe for work video: Chains of Olympus sex game</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/13/todays-least-safe-for-work-video-chains-of-olympus-sex-game/">Today's least safe for work video: Chains of Olympus sex game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 Feb 2008 20:30:00 EST. We can do without "whiny" being the default setting for so much indy/emo music, but Arlington-and-Grand Prairie-Texas-based <a href="http://www.manfactory.net">Man Factory</a> serves up enough indy-powerpop-rock to offset any latent emo sadness. Plus the group's latest project is a series of seven songs written from the perspectives of <em>Street Fighter</em> characters. The series is called, "Street Fighter II: Rock Opera: Round 1," and hits enough high notes that we hope rounds two and three follow.<br /><br />The band offers such tracks as "<a href="http://students.uta.edu/tm/tmw7914/chunli,%20im%20lovin%20it.mp3">Chun Li, i'm lovin it</a>," and "<a href="http://students.uta.edu/tm/tmw7914/theregoesdhalsim.mp3">There goes Dhalism</a>" for free at its site. (Or visit the <a href="http://www.myspace.com/manfactory">MySpace page</a> to play them in-browser and download the whole package as a <a href="http://students.uta.edu/tm/tmw7914/roundone.zip">zip file</a>.) Our verdict: Knockout.<br /><br />[Thanks, Matt]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/07/todays-nerdiest-audio-street-fighter-songs/">Today's nerdiest audio: Street Fighter songs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 07 Feb 2008 07:00:00 EST. This guy didn't just re-skin an arcade cabinet with fanart. He <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2007/12/03/if-the-chozo-made-arcade-cabinets-they-would-look-like-this/">built the damn thing himself</a>, and even included an illuminated Mother Brain behind a plexiglass window. Sure, it's overly dramatic, and moodily lit, and it has way too many quick cuts for us to really ogle the finer details, but this dude built a <em>Metroid</em>-themed arcade cabinet. Instead, <em>Extreme</em> is looking to entirely reinvent the wheel, by re-examining the pacing and structure of the original title, while infusing the game with a pulsing soundtrack and gameplay quirks clearly inspired by Tetsuya Mizuguchi's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rez"><em>Rez</em></a>.<br /><br />We admit that based on the <a href="http://www.dsfanboy.com/2007/11/27/space-invaders-streamed/">above video</a>, the game looks very... busy. We're hoping the game doesn't pull a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/spacegiraffe"><em>Space Giraffe</em></a> with the sheer amount of on-screen clutter, but we're most definitely looking forward to blasting retro-styled aliens to the beat of hypnotic techno. The game's due out in Japan in February 2008. No U.S. release has been confirmed, but it's only a matter of time.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/29/todays-most-trance-inducing-video-space-invaders-extreme/">Today's most trance-inducing video: Space Invaders Extreme</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 Nov 2007 01:01:00 EST. As a concept, <em>Kwari </em>is unintentionally hilarious. The game's entire premise rests on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/31/kwari-pays-you-to-shoot-people-not-get-shot/">luring players in with the promise of cash and prizes</a>. Earn money every time you shoot another player in this online first-person-shooter, and lose money every time you get shot. In addition, special prizes will be given to players throughout each match, both randomly and based on certain skills demonstrated.<br /><br />And it's free, too! The catch? Well, that it's <em>not actually free</em>. As the <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/28314.html">unnecessarily gory, ugly trailer</a> will barely tell you, <em>Kwari</em> players need to purchase their ammunition with real-world money. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/animalcrossing"><em>Animal Crossing: Wild World</em></a> for the DS loves guilting its players. Turn the game off before saving? Mr. Resetti shows up to give you a piece of his mind. Go several months without playing the game? Your once-beautiful town will be overrun with weeds that you'll have to pluck one by one if you want to re-beautify the landscape.<br /><br />Today's video shows <a href="http://www.gamesradar.com/us/ds/game/news/article.jsp?sectionId=1006&amp;articleId=2007112317103815044&amp;releaseId=2005122092937415054">just how absurd</a> this process can be. It reportedly took 35 non-stop minutes to remove all the weeds that had grown over eleven months of non-play. Still, our videographers aren't without compassion: to alleviate the sheer tedium of the process, a clever editer has chosen to depict the entire process "Benny Hill" style. You can still see how ridiculous it all is, but at least now you can giggle instead of pulling your hair out. Check out the wacky gardening antics after the break.<br /><br /> <strong>Update:</strong> Fixed the number of months.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.dsfanboy.com/2007/11/25/dont-mess-with-animal-crossing/">DS Fanboy</a>]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/26/todays-most-tedious-video-picking-weeds-in-animal-crossing/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Today's most tedious video: Picking weeds in Animal Crossing</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/26/todays-most-tedious-video-picking-weeds-in-animal-crossing/">Today's most tedious video: Picking weeds in Animal Crossing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Nov 2007 00:01:00 EST. The North American marketing for DS guitar simulator <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/jamsessions"><em>Jam Sessions</em></a> has been pretty low-key, comprised of a MySpace page, uninspired print ads, and a bevy of videos showing real artists using the non-game to play fake guitar.<br /><br />Off the charts, then, are <a href="http://www.dsfanboy.com/2007/11/18/promotional-consideration-party-like-a-rock-star/">New Zealand's excellent television spots</a> for the title, which emphasize how having <em>Jam Sessions</em> in your DS repertoire can transform you into an instant rockstar. According to the ads, being an instant rockstar involves hitting on your buxom aunt, and cursing out your mum for baking you the wrong birthday cake. Honestly, the things those New Zealanders can get away with on television!<br /><br />If we haven't made it abundantly clear, these videos are definitely <strong>not-safe-for-work<em> </em></strong>material. Catch all the raunchy, raucous action after the break (and not a single shot of gameplay, either!).<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/19/todays-most-vulgar-videos-jam-sessions-instant-rockstar/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Today's most vulgar videos: Jam Sessions' instant rockstar</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/19/todays-most-vulgar-videos-jam-sessions-instant-rockstar/">Today's most vulgar videos: Jam Sessions' instant rockstar</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 Nov 2007 00:01:00 EST. Just when you thought XBLA's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/yaris">Yaris</a> was in a league all its own, along comes <em>M&amp;M's Kart Racing</em> on the Wii to reintroduce us to the "horribly derivative racing advergame" genre. The gameplay footage above is a true testament to the <em>wrong</em> way to build a kart racer.<br /><br />Our favorite part is when the M&amp;M driver -- who's cruising at tortoise speeds -- repeatedly shouts "APPROACHING SOUND BARRIER!" Anyone else?<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Well, somebody spoiled our fun and removed the YouTube video we were linking to. Luckily, however, Amazon.com features the same exact footage on the game's page. <a href="http://www.amazon.com:80/gp/mpd/permalink/m36XHA3X56LHF7:m2X1ABHYWN1WN4">Check it out here</a>.<br /><br />[Thanks, Supa. And while it's an attempt to appease the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/18/todays-just-like-me-video-cats-in-the-cradle-parody/">videogame widows</a> as much a song about the game, notice how the lyrics never take responsibility; you can sense the singer slinking back to the game during the slow fade-out. Yes, that sounds like a typical gamer to us.<br />

Watch the music video after the break, and hum it to your loved ones.<br />

We enjoy the clip on so many levels, like watching the gameplay and being sucked into the sale itself. Must... buy... <em>Iron Sword</em>. Our favorite take is to imagine the production of the commercial and which PA had to swing the tentacle into the room.<br /><br />The video is watermarked with "Gaming-Age.com," but we could only find an <a href="http://www.gaming-age.com/cgi-bin/specials/page2.pl?spec=adspecial&amp;pagenum=3&amp;pages=9&amp;title=Flashback:%20Video%20Game%20Advertising">article</a> there that references an equally great print ad for the game. Gametrailers user, <a href="http://warchiefgrim.gametrailers.com/gamepad/index.php">warchiefgrim</a>, uploaded a clip. We hope this video convinces you to save the precious bandwidth of the internet and pass on the game; even "free" costs too much.<br />
<br />
Things we learned:<br />
<ul>
    <li>The 4-Door Sedan Yaris comes in such focus-group-approved colors as "Jade Sea Metallic," and "Flint Mica."</li>
    <li>Northbound on 101 goes straight up (and straight down) as often as it goes north.</li>
    <li>The Yaris is powered by the constant desire to catch a cat toy mounted on its roof. Sadly, the toy is always just out of reach.</li>
</ul>
