That means first-party content will no longer be produced, with everything transitioning to a third-party content model.<br /><br />"So, to be clear and succinct: Inside Xbox is no more, as are our jobs," Dan Maher, Xbox Live Editor and host of SentUAMessage wrote on <a href="https://twitter.com/mrpointyhead/status/200228654767284225">Twitter</a>. "Your support during the last four years has meant the world to us."<br /><br />The European shutdown comes a week after Microsoft announced the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/02/inside-xbox-ends-major-nelson-lives-on/">closure of first-party Inside Xbox production</a> in the States and other territories.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/09/inside-xbox-also-ends-in-europe/">Inside Xbox also ends in Europe</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 09 May 2012 10:45:00 EST. Wondering how <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/trials-evolution"><em>Trials Evolution</em></a>'s multiplayer mode plays out? We're not exactly used to finding out <em>hot scoops</em> on Valve's game projects from Xbox Live's "Inside Xbox" feature "SENTUAMESSAGE," so it was especially odd to us when we heard that <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/left-4-dead-2">Left 4 Dead 2</a></em>'s upcoming <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/left-4-dead">Left 4 Dead 1</a></em> crossover DLC "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-passing/">The Passing</a>" got an official price (560<img border="0" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" />/$7) -- and an ambiguous new release date of "Spring" -- from the feature. But that's just what the latest episode told us, not to mention a handful of new deets on the DLC, including info on new variations of enemies and a few new weapons. <br />
<br />
Back at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/11/l4d2-the-passing-dlc-in-march-l4d1-tie-in-dlc-to-follow/">X10 in February</a>, Valve told us that the content was set to arrive on Xbox Live/Steam by "late March," though it seems that the window has been extended a few more months. We've fired off an email to Valve to see if a more solid release date exists, and we'll keep you updated if we hear anything back. In the meantime, we've embedded the Inside Xbox clip after the break.<br />

Last week X3F was lucky enough to attend the Canadian launch of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Fable-2">Fable II</a></em> for the Xbox 360 in Toronto, Canada. While throwing back a few brews, invited members of the Xbox community in Canada were able to play through the retail version of the game a week before its release. Canadian Xbox 360 owners connected to Live are now able to see some highlights from the event on Inside Xbox -- including interviews with (a mid-flu) Xav de Matos and our friend <a href="http://www.360sync.com">DjDatz</a>. Non-Canadian members of the community are invited to check out the video above and see exactly what alcohol can do to some Canadians. Think of it as a Fable II promo and a public service announcement ... all rolled into one.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/24/video-inside-xbox-at-the-fable-ii-launch-event-in-toronto-cana/">Video: Inside Xbox at the Fable II launch event in Toronto, Canada</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 Oct 2008 16:15:00 EST. The announcement of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/netflix">Netflix</a> for the Xbox 360 was certainly one of the major highlights of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/engadget-and-joystiq-live-from-microsofts-e3-2008-keynote/">Microsoft's press conference</a>. Inside Xbox has a video, featuring Larry "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/major-nelson">Major Nelson</a>" Hryb, walking through how Netflx will work on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/details-on-new-xbox-experience-avatars-netflix-primetime-et/">New Xbox Experience</a>. The standard definition movies seem to load and begin streaming instantly. This is a feature we imagine many Xbox Live members, who are also Netflix subscribers, will be taking full advantage of later this year.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/video-of-how-netflix-works-on-xbox-360/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video of how Netflix works on Xbox 360</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/video-of-how-netflix-works-on-xbox-360/">Video of how Netflix works on Xbox 360</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Jul 2008 21:30:00 EST. Not to be trumped in the online flesh-and-blood female host arms race by Sony and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Qore/">Qore</a>'s <a href="http://www.veronicabelmont.com/">Veronica Belmont,</a> Microsoft has announced a partnership with IGN to bring its popular "IGN Strategize" segments to Xbox Live, hosted by IGN host/celebrity <a href="http://blogs.ign.com/Jess-IGN/">Jessica Chobot</a> (who may or may not <a href="http://stars.ign.com/dor/objects/912456/jessica-chobot/images/ign-babes-interview-jessica-chobot-part-two-20050606054120483.html">lick a 360 controller</a>). <br /><br />Larry Hryb, Xbox Live's "Major Nelson," made the announcement this morning via his <a href="http://twitter.com/majornelson/">Twitter feed</a>. A brief preview clip of himself and Chobot chatting has subsequently hit the "Inside Xbox" section of Live. IGN Strategize will soon join the other regular Inside Xbox segments and focus on tips, tricks, and strategies, hence the name.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/25/microsoft-brings-chobot-ign-strategize-to-xbl/">Microsoft brings Chobot, 'IGN Strategize' to XBL</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 25 Jun 2008 16:00:00 EST. It is a day that will forever be riddled with falsities and lies. This is particularly true of the video game industry. Given how much fans obsess over every single news-byte and rumor -- we hear there are even <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com"><em>entire websites</em></a> devoted to it -- it's hard to blame all the publishers and developers for wanting to pull one over on their ardent followers. It's all in good fun after all. Enter the latest additions to the Xbox 360 Family: the Wireless Helmet, Xbox Live the Board Game, the Xbox 360 Recon Edition, and the Xbox 360 Vintage Edition. They are -- to save you the trouble -- fake. Of course, they are so obviously fake that it's really not a great April Fools' Day prank (unless you have particularly dense friends, in which case more power to you). Still, it's funny. So, check out the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/inside-xbox">Inside Xbox</a> video (embedded above) and don't forget to <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/promotions/2008/spring/">pre-order</a>.<br /><br />[Thanks to the many, many people that sent this in!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/01/happy-april-fools-from-xbox-live/">Happy April Fools' from Xbox Live</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 Apr 2008 13:15:00 EST. Specifically, Moore (jokingly) described Major as "self-absorbed," adding, "now he's pretty much, you know, the Paris Hilton of video games. That, you know, he is, you know, above us all." Major Nelson is apparently not one to take things lying down, and he quickly prepared a <a href="http://www.gamertagradio.com/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?p=43067">response video</a> for this week's edition of Major's Minute. We won't spoil it, but rest assured that Major Nelson consulted the highest authority on this matter.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/08/video-proof-major-nelson-is-not-paris-hilton/">Video proof: Major Nelson is not Paris Hilton</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Feb 2008 13:00:00 EST. We didn't know non-U.S. fanboys had so much built up excitement for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fall-update">Fall update</a> enabled <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/insidexbox/">Inside Xbox</a> dashboard feature. But, we guess when you don't have something your desire for it is amplified times sixteen. And that sort of excitement combustion just occurred yesterday when Microsoft officially launched Inside Xbox to Canadian Xbox Live subscribers. Yippy!<br /><br />Previously, Inside Xbox was only available to a few countries including the U.S., but our fellow Canadian gamers couldn't partake in daily Inside Xbox fun. But all that has changed, as Canadian gamers should now be able to click on the Inside Xbox option right above the friends / messages button on the Xbox Live blade to watch Major's Minute, TriXie's Community Confidential and all the crew's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/21/the-best-use-for-inside-xbox-so-far-bloopers/">bloopers</a> as well. We're sure the Canadian Inside Xbox version will include the same weekly features as its U.S. cousin, but also incorporate exclusive news and events pertinent to Canadian Live members. Check it out, it's Inside Xbox Canadian <strike>bacon</strike> style. <br /><br />[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/06/canada-experiences-inside-xbox-awesomeness/">Canada experiences Inside Xbox awesomeness</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Feb 2008 13:00:00 EST. After all, we already spend our entire day scouring the net for the latest and greatest Xbox news, and Inside Xbox hasn't exactly dropped any exclusive bombshells so far (although we did find out that <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=ian6NyXpszw"><em>National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation</em></a> is on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/video-marketplace">Video Marketplace</a>, score!). Undoubtedly, the most interesting feature is the ability for Inside Xbox to stream video. The potential use for this is pretty intriguing (think exclusive trailers, the next E3 press conference, etc.). However, we're pretty sure we've landed on the best use thus far: bloopers. The next time you get a chance, fire up the old 360 and check out the "Inside Xbox Bloopers" to see what goes into the little community video nuggets produced by TriXie and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/major-nelson">Major Nelson</a>. You'll even get to hear Major drop some (censored) F-bombs! Now that's entertainment.<br /><br />[<font color="red">Update: The video is now embedded above</font>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/21/the-best-use-for-inside-xbox-so-far-bloopers/">The best use for Inside Xbox so far: bloopers [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 21 Dec 2007 14:15:00 EST.
