	<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/27/activision-registers-domains-for-goldeneye-007-reloaded/"><img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/08/604807000120100727-a8qd3_530x350.jpg" style="width: 530px; height: 349px; border-width: 1px; border-style: solid; margin-left: 4px; margin-right: 4px;" /></a></div>
Internet sleuth <a href="http://twitter.com/#%21/supererogatory/status/85354210455072768">@supererogatory</a> discovered some recent domain name registrations made by Activision, which point at a potential re-release of 2010's Wii exclusive, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007"><em>GoldenEye 007</em></a>. "GoldenEyeReloadedGame.com," "GoldenEye007GameReloaded.com," "GoldenEyeReloaded007.com" and "GoldenEye007Reloaded.com" were the four URLs the Santa Monica-based publisher snagged.<br />
<br />
Now, while the possibility of a new and improved Wii game isn't out of the question, we're inclined to think that Activision is thinking about consoles other than the Wii -- specifically, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/playstation-move">PlayStation Move</a> functionality. Of course,
<meta charset="utf-8" />
fans have been clamoring for a remake of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/09/goldeneye-n64-wii-comparison/">the original <em>GoldenEye 007</em> on N64</a> since they looked up the word clamor and realized it was what they were doing; unfortunately, with original developer Rare now owned by Microsoft, that path is legally perilous.<br />
<br />
Activision has not made any announcements concerning these domain names.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/27/activision-registers-domains-for-goldeneye-007-reloaded/">Activision registers domains for 'GoldenEye 007 Reloaded'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 27 Jun 2011 17:00:00 EST. Agent double-oh-seven is returning to the silver screen next year with Daniel Craig reprising his role as Her Majesty's most famous spy, and a <a href="http://www.deadline.com/2011/01/bond-is-back-daniel-craig-and-sam-mendes-set-for-nov-9-2012-release-date/">report by Deadline</a> claims that the film series' restart has led to a new <em>James</em> <em>Bond</em> game getting the ol' green light. The site makes no mention of who's developing -- or even if the game will tie into the film -- but we can count out <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/james-bond-007-blood-stone">Blood Stone</a></em> dev <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bizarre-creations">Bizarre Creations</a>, currently in the process of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/16/activision-reportedly-closing-bizarre-creations/">being shuttered by Activision</a>, which holds the video game rights to all things 007.<br />

<em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wolfenstein">Wolfenstein</a></em> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/singularity">Singularity</a></em> studio <a href="http://jwww.joystiq.com/tag/raven-software">Raven Software</a> was rumored <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/06/rumor-raven-software-working-on-stealth-based-bond-game-follow/">as recently as last month</a> to be working on a new, stealth-heavy <em>Bond</em> title (some <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/07/rumor-ravens-bond-game-shows-up-in-animators-reel/">supposed footage</a> of which was later dug up). No matter who makes the game, we can only hope that it actually gets some, y'know, <em>marketing</em> -- unlike <em>Blood Stone</em>.<br type="_moz" /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/12/report-new-bond-game-moves-ahead-as-film-franchise-is-revived/">Report: New Bond game moves ahead as film franchise is revived</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Jan 2011 18:40:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/06/rumor-raven-software-working-on-stealth-based-bond-game-follow/">Rumors started circulating</a> yesterday about the rebirth of a Raven-developed James Bond game. Today, a <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=24777117&amp;postcount=10">poster on NeoGAF</a> has unearthed footage that could very well be from that project in the demo reel of Hanjin Song, an animator on Raven's recent sci-fi FPS, <em>Singularity.</em> <br />
<br />
While the gameplay bears a surface resemblance to Bizarre Creations' just-released <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/james-bond-007-blood-stone"><em>James Bond 007: Blood Stone</em></a>, the screencap above show's a different UI, a new environment and what appears to be a more detailed model of Bond star Daniel Craig. In Song's clip, we see the super spy engaging in some death-defying parkour, sneaking around behind cover and, of course, shooting incompetent minions.<br />
<br />
We haven't heard back from Activision nor Song -- so don't start pre-ordering just yet -- but if we're not looking at the rumored Raven project, we're having a tough time imagining what else it could be.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/07/rumor-ravens-bond-game-shows-up-in-animators-reel/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rumor: Raven's Bond game shows up in animator's reel</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/07/rumor-ravens-bond-game-shows-up-in-animators-reel/">Rumor: Raven's Bond game shows up in animator's reel</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 Dec 2010 10:12:00 EST. Bond fansite <a href="http://www.mi6.co.uk/news/index.php?itemid=9117&amp;t=mi6&amp;s=news">MI6</a> claims that the recently approved bankruptcy plan at MGM has allowed the unannounced Bond title to be "taken off hiatus," and says it's back in production at Raven. Additionally, the report alleges that the Bond title was one of two games being worked on by Raven -- a sequel to 2009's <em>X-Men Origins: Wolverine</em> is said to also have been in production, though that game is reportedly "on the backburner" currently.<br />
<br />
Given the recent death sentence handed to <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/james-bond-007-blood-stone">James Bond 007: Blood Stone</a></em> by Activision (did you know that game was released, because it <em>totally was</em>) and the <a href="http://www.slashfilm.com/mgm-approved-bankruptcy-composer-bond-23/">tumultuous story of Bond's 23rd film</a> (said to now be back on track) -- not to mention Raven's ties to the very, very lucrative Call of Duty franchise and a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/11/report-raven-hit-with-layoffs-lets-40-go/">recent thinning</a> of the studio's staff -- we're a bit wary that the supposed stealth Bond will ever see the light of day. Regardless, we are totally, 100 percent confident in our unabashed excitement for the reignited Bond 23 plans.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/06/rumor-raven-software-working-on-stealth-based-bond-game-follow/">Rumor: Raven Software working on stealth-based Bond game, follow-up to Wolverine 'on the backburner'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 Dec 2010 15:50:00 EST. In a month where, after almost a two-year hiatus, we see two new Bond games thrown at us, PS3 and Xbox owners can't help but feel a little jaded when they see the re-vamped <em>GoldenEye</em> headed solely to the Wii.<br />
<br />
"They got the new <em>GoldenEye</em> with a fancy new controller and all we got was another rip-off 3rd person shooter!" the masses say, clutching their well-worn N64 controller, wracked with guilt over not playing <em>Quantum of Solace </em>in 2008 or, worse, having played <em>GoldenEye: Rogue Agent </em>in 2004.<br />

Activision had an interesting balancing act on its hands with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007-2010"><em>Goldeneye</em></a>. It knew that this was a nostalgia title for the Nintendo 64 crowd, yet it had to be wary of "copying" anything from the Rare-developed 1997 title of the same name for legal reasons. So the company goes back to the source material (the film, that is), replaces Pierce Brosnan with Daniel Craig, and builds an entirely new game -- yet all the while hoping it rides its name recognition right off the shelves. "Somebody's remaking <em>Goldeneye</em>! Remember <em>Goldeneye</em>? <em>Goldeneye</em>!"<br />
<br />
This isn't a remake. It's a new Bond game based on an older film. Remember when EA made a video game version of <em>From Russia With Love</em> in 2005? It's like that, but if they replaced Sean Connery with Daniel Craig. And gave him a smartphone.<br />

Developer n-Space has been responsible for the DS installments of Activision's biggest FPS franchise, <em>Call of Duty</em>. With handheld versions of <em>Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare</em>,<em> World at War</em> and<em> Modern Warfare: Mobilized</em> under its belt, the studio is readying for its next release, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/29/new-goldeneye-007-also-coming-to-nintendo-ds-this-year/">the DS version</a> of <em>GoldenEye 007,</em> which will launch alongside <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/14/goldeneye-007-wii-preview/">the Wii remake</a> on November 2.<br />

Activision is taking a risk with its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007"><em>GoldenEye 007</em></a> remake for Wii. Legal precautions aside (Microsoft and Rare still have rights to the original game), <em>GoldenEye</em> for N64, or simply "Bond," is a beloved, iconic console FPS. So, to re-imagine this game on the Wii, Activision risks both tarnishing us old-timers' fond memories and further alienating a newer generation that wonders, "What's the big deal?"<br />
<br />
At a recent preview event, I checked out two levels of the new <em>GoldenEye</em> and spoke with Activision brand manager Eric Spielman. "We thought, if we're going to bring it back, we need to have a commitment to authenticity; and the original game was on Nintendo -- we wanted to be on Nintendo again," Spielman told me, when asked why Activision had focused its remake solely on the Wii (a DS version will also be released). "If you look at the Wii, it's very much about people together, in the same room, having fun, playing games together. It all added up to us getting the exclusive, and Nintendo has been a big help every step of the way."<br />

Your task isn't nearly as daunting as the one facing Bizarre's Bond in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/james-bond-007-blood-stone">Blood Stone</a>. The iconic spy is sent to Istanbul to intercept the sale of "mission-critical biotechnology," and is granted inevitably catastrophic permission to do so "by any means necessary." With <a href="http://www.cinematical.com/2010/07/06/next-james-bond-film-permanently-canceled/2">Bond 23 canceled</a>, Activision's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/James-Bond-007-Blood-Stone/"><em>James Bond 007: Blood Stone</em></a> may be your only dose of Bond for some time. It's a good thing they're going all out with the production then, with Daniel Craig in the starring role (sorry, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/11/bizarre-developed-bond-opts-for-eastender-over-daniel-craig/">EastEnder</a>) and siren Joss Stone stepping into the appropriately fancy shoes of Bond Girl. You can hear her pipes in the non-titular title song "I'll Take it All" in the trailer here, and see her doing her best Bond Girl impersonation in the gallery below. <br />

Bond is back in Bizarre Creations' <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/james-bond-007-blood-stone"><em>James Bond 007: Blood Stone</em></a>. I got a first look at the game's opening act during an Activision media event in San Diego yesterday, where I also spoke with designer Sandy Lockie about the development of this original <em>Bond</em> adventure.<br />
<br />
Primarily a third-person shooter, <em>Blood Stone</em> immediately drew comparisons to Bizarre's other shooter, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-club"><em>The Club</em></a>, when it was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/16/james-bond-007-blood-stone-hurled-through-holiday-release-windo/">announced last week</a>. Indeed, Lockie confirms that the new Bond game has its roots in the studio's previous effort. "It's basically the <em>Club</em> team," he tells me. "We rolled off on <em>The Club</em> and started working on this straight away." But while <em>The Club</em> was all about scoring points <em>and more points,</em> Bizarre is designing <em>Blood Stone</em> to be "a much deeper shooting experience."<br />

If your Friday was feeling light on <em>dashing</em> digitized photos of <em>dashing</em> Daniel Craig, Activision is here to help alleviate the issue. Not only has <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007">GoldenEye 007</a></em>'s publisher released a handful of new screens that we've dropped into a gallery for you below, but there's also a new trailer that we've embedded after the break. <br />
<br />
What, that's not enough? How about some photos of that <em>other</em> Daniel Craig looking dashing in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/James-Bond-007-Blood-Stone/">another </a></em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/James-Bond-007-Blood-Stone/">Bond game</a>? Well, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/16/james-bond-007-blood-stone-trailer-is-for-your-eyes-only/">here you go</a>! It's Bond day, didn't you know?<br />

James Bond is a man of action. Mere screenshots can't do his <em>daring</em> justice. But a trailer? Now we're talking. See Bond run, gun and generally <em>blow things up</em> <em>good </em>in the first trailer for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/games/James-Bond-007-Blood-Stone"><em>James Bond 007: Blood Stone</em></a>, which you'll find after the break. It's the kind of stuff that will leave fans of Her Majesty's top super-spy shaken <em>and </em>stirred.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/16/james-bond-007-blood-stone-trailer-is-for-your-eyes-only/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>James Bond 007: Blood Stone trailer is for your eyes only</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/16/james-bond-007-blood-stone-trailer-is-for-your-eyes-only/">James Bond 007: Blood Stone trailer is for your eyes only</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 16 Jul 2010 15:20:00 EST. Assassinating <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/22/james-bond-bloodstone-retailer-listing/">months of speculation</a>, Activision has finally announced its new James Bond game, helmed by <em>Project Gotham Racing</em> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/blur">Blur</a></em> developer Bizarre Creations. Featuring an original story by Bruce Feirstein (who penned the screenplay for <em>GoldenEye</em> and the script for 2003's Bond game, <em>Everything or Nothing</em>), <em>James Bond 007: Blood Stone</em> features a mix of third-person cover-based shooting, hand-to-hand combat and "adrenaline-fuelled driving sequences" on land and sea -- and air, if there are enough exploding ramps. <br />
<br />
Daniel Craig will reprise his role as suave spy guy (it's not like they need him for <a href="http://www.imdb.com/news/ni3182555/">a movie right now</a>) alongside Judi Dench, who once again plays stern boss lady "M." Grammy award-winning singer Joss Stone will be playing <em>Blood Stone</em>'s obligatory gun-toting temptress, presumably because <em>Oliver</em> Stone couldn't quite pull off the evening gowns. Stone -- that's Joss -- will also provide the game's original theme song, "I'll Take it All," with the aid of Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics.<br />
<br />
Bizarre's <em>James Bond 007: Blood Stone</em> is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this holiday season. N-Space is developing a DS version for the same time frame. In the game's latest trailer (found after the break), Thorton travels to exotic locales the world over ... and kills people! He's a lot like that James Bond fella, but without the <em>namby pamby</em> English accent getting in the way (we<em> kid</em>, Brits!). <em>AP</em> is due to hit retailers in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/24/alpha-protocol-obtains-release-date-again-for-real-maybe/">under two weeks</a> -- just enough time for Thorton to tour the globe three or four more times. We'll be watching our backs just in case he stops by.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/18/alpha-protocols-michael-thorton-goes-globetrotting-in-latest-tr/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Alpha Protocol's Michael Thorton goes globetrotting in latest trailer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/18/alpha-protocols-michael-thorton-goes-globetrotting-in-latest-tr/">Alpha Protocol's Michael Thorton goes globetrotting in latest trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 May 2010 00:30:00 EST. If <a href="http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/704663/Activision-Pulls-Raven-Software-Off-Bond-Game-Now-Designing-Call-Of-Duty-Maps.html">reports from G4</a> sources are to be believed, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/singularity">Singularity</a></em> developer Raven Software is working on a "stealth-centric <em>Bond</em> game" (not to be confused with the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/22/james-bond-bloodstone-retailer-listing/">unannounced <em>Bond</em> racer</a>). Not only that, <em>but</em> the game has supposedly been put on hold so that Raven can create map packs for this November's Treyarch-developed <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/call-of-duty-black-ops">Call of Duty: Black Ops</a></em>. Apparently, in the wake of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/@breakup">Activision's kerfuffle</a> with (now former) Infinity Ward staff, the publisher is having to assign substitute developers to work on various components of the lucrative <em>Call of Duty</em> franchise.<br />
<br />
While the situation sounds less than ideal for Raven, it beats the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/raven-software-confirms-layoffs-new-size-reflects-upcoming-wo/">pretty heavy layoffs</a> suffered by the studio last year. Now having <em>too much</em> work sounds like a <em>good</em> problem for Raven, especially in a still-ailing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/economy">economy</a>. We reached out to Activision to confirm this report, but hadn't heard back as of publishing.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update:</strong> Activision responded, "Activision does not comment on rumor and speculation."<br type="_moz" />

The saga of a new <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/goldeneye"><em>GoldenEye</em></a> game -- or the possible re-release of the original -- has acquired yet another new wrinkle. Said wrinkle comes in the form of a new internet domain registered by Activision. The domain in question, uncovered by <a href="http://supererogatory.tumblr.com/post/543750124/created-on-2010-04-21">superannuation</a>, is goldeneyegame.com, which certainly points to some sort of revival for the storied title. While the prospects of an actual re-release of Rare's N64 classic have been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/06/goldeneye-xbla-stuck-in-no-mans-land/">all but crushed</a>, an artist's resume discovered in October 2009 did mention work on a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/26/rumor-animator-resume-lists-work-on-goldeneye-2010/"><em>GoldenEye 2010</em></a> for Activision.<br />
<br />
Assuming the resume was accurate, Activision could be securing the domain in advance of an announcement. It's also unclear if any of this ties into <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/22/james-bond-bloodstone-retailer-listing/"><em>James Bond: Bloodstone</em></a>, the alleged title of the Bond game in development at Bizarre. We know Activision <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/05/activision-talks-2010-bond-is-back-joined-by-tony-hawk-spider/">has Bond plans for 2010</a>, but could the company be preparing us for a double-0 dose of espionage, perhaps rolling out a new version of <em>GoldenEye</em> to drum up interest for <em>Bloodstone</em>? Or maybe the company is simply getting its ducks in a row in case it does decide to revive <em>GoldenEye</em>.<br />
<br />
Whatever it is, something is definitely <strike>stirring</strike> shaking at Activision.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/23/activision-registers-new-domain-for-goldeneye-game/">Activision registers new domain for GoldenEye game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 23 Apr 2010 18:12:00 EST. According to a <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/news/6259256.html">Gamespot</a> report, a retailer website slip-up may have outed "James Bond: Bloodstone" as the title for the long-awaited "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/03/bizarre-making-bond-title-for-2009-new-racing-ip-is-mario-kart/">racing and driving focused</a>" 007 game from Bizarre Creations. HMV reportedly posted a listing for a game with that title (though it's nowhere to be found now) in the "driving and racing" category. It was also tagged for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii.<br />
<br />
With the next Bond film currently <a href="http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2010/04/bond_23_on_hold_indefinite_hol.html">on hold</a>, it's up to Activision to keep the spy in active duty. Activision's plan to annualize the <em>Bond</em> franchise -- regardless of the status of a movie to tie into -- has already come unraveled, with the decision to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/11/activision-delays-james-bond-title-to-2010/">pull Mr. Bond</a> out of <em>Modern Warfare 2's</em> line of sight this holiday. So, Bizarre Creations' "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/03/bizarre-making-bond-title-for-2009-new-racing-ip-is-mario-kart/">racing and driving focused</a>" crack at <em>Bond</em> is now due in 2010, unattached to the Daniel Craig-powered, as-yet-untitled 2011 <em>Bond</em> movie. This poses an obvious question: With no theatrical attachment, will <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/02/joystiq-eyes-only-on-james-bond-in-quantum-of-solace-the-gam/">confessed gamer</a> Daniel Craig reprise the interactive Bond role or will Bizarre's seemingly unique take on the license also have a unique actor in the role of 007?<br />
<br />
According to Adam Croasdell, the <em>EastEnders</em> star (it's a long-running BBC soap opera, for the non-British amongst us) has wrapped up voice work on the game. "Oddly enough I have just played James Bond in the new <em>James Bond </em>video game -- how weird is that?" Croasdell told BBC Asian Network, as reported by the <a href="http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5iiZMVEc4LxbaXcQnUWv2psxR1YOw">Press Association</a>. "I think video games and the making of that type of technology, being in a funny one-piece suit and being shot with 60 cameras, I think that's sort of the future."<br />
<br />
We're right there with you, Croasdell! Oh, and you better get used to that one-piece suit ... Activision has plans to milk that <em>Bond</em> license before it expires in 2014.<br />

<em><small>It'll probably look a bit better than this</small></em></div>
Shortly before being pulled from the internet's intimidating view, an animator's online resume may have let out a secret -- concerning an iconic secret agent. According to the eagle-eyed <a href="http://supererogatory.tumblr.com/post/223707250/experience-team-bondi-sydney-australia">Superannuation</a>, Craig Peck listed work on a game dubbed "GoldenEye 2010 (Wii)," created in association with British developer Eurocom.<br />
<br />
Eurocom previously worked on the PlayStation 2 version of Activision's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/quantum-of-solace"><em>Quantum of Solace</em></a> tie-in. Assuming "GoldenEye 2010" isn't merely a nostalgic codename, it seems the publisher could be looking to a well-regarded classic for inspiration on a new James Bond game. Alas, Hollywood can't keep up with Activision's annual aspirations. <br />
<br />
The publisher won't divulge any of its plans this early, leaving us to wait for further information or for our time-traveling correspondent to confirm the game's existence. He's really more of a <em>GoldenEye 2020</em> fan -- looking back, that really was the best of the remakes.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/26/rumor-animator-resume-lists-work-on-goldeneye-2010/">Rumor: Animator resume lists work on 'GoldenEye 2010'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Oct 2009 14:50:00 EST. <p>On this afternoon's earnings call, Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith dropped some details on what we can expect out of Activision in 2010. Of course, there's "a strong lineup behind the <em>Guitar Hero</em> franchise" and some <em>Call of Duty</em> "new releases" as well as "online monetization" of the franchise (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/15/survey-says-activision-exploring-mmo-monetization-for-call-of-d/">not this again!</a>) and strong <em>Modern Warfare 2</em> sales, but that's not all it has in store for 2010. <br />
<br />
"We'll launch also new games based on James Bond, Tony Hawk, and Spider-Man, along with games supporting the theatrical releases for Dreamworks'<em> Shrek 4</em> and <em>How to Train Your Dragon</em>," Griffith said. "In addition, as previously announced, we're planning to release an innovative property in the $4b action genre." <a href="http://www.mcvuk.com/news/34682/Activision-readies-new-action-genre-IP">Here's Activision CEO Bobby Kotick discussing</a> the aforementioned $4b opportunity; could this be what former <em>Dead Space</em> producer Glen Schofield dumped EA and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/22/rumor-visceral-execs-wooed-away-from-ea-by-activision/">went to Activision for</a>? <br />
<br />
Regardless, it's been nearly <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/11/activision-delays-james-bond-title-to-2010/">half a year since we got an update</a> on Activision's first stab at the Bond franchise, after acquiring the rights from EA <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/04/bond-takes-order-from-activision-eas-out/">over three years ago</a>. So it looks we'll be seeing more of Bond in '10 ... <em>two-thousand and ten</em>.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/05/activision-talks-2010-bond-is-back-joined-by-tony-hawk-spider/">Activision talks 2010: Bond is back, joined by Tony Hawk, Spider-Man, and 'innovative' action game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 05 Aug 2009 19:01:00 EST. Activision, as the bastion of original IP development, announced a number of megaton titles in development for 2010. Names dropped at its investor's call include new additions to its venerable lineup of franchises: <em>007</em>, <em>Tony Hawk</em>, <em>Spider-man</em>, <em>Transformers</em> and <em>Shrek</em>.<br /><br />Those hungry for innovation will be able to look forward to a new original action IP from the company. In addition, Activision plans on expanding the <em>Call of Duty</em> franchise to new genres. <em>Call of Duty Kart</em>? <em>Call of Duty Party</em>? <em>Call of Duty Hero: Metallica</em>? We're psyched.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/01/activision-announces-megaton-surprises-for-2010-007-tony-hawk/">Activision announces megaton surprises for 2010: 007, Tony Hawk, Call of Duty</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 01 Jun 2009 12:10:00 EST. Bobby Kotick and co. got together for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/activision-blizzard">Activision Blizzard</a> earnings report this afternoon and dropped a few numbers on their investors, aside from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/11/activision-blizzard-talks-2009-line-up-in-latest-financial-earni/">confirming a mess of games</a> that still haven't officially been announced yet. After reconfirming what we told you a few weeks ago regarding the <a href="http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2009/01/12/guitar-hero-iii-first-game-to-make-1-billion/">$1 billion in sales of <em>Guitar Hero III</em></a>, Kotick went on to note, "In North America, Activision Blizzard was the #1 third-party console and handheld software publisher in dollars for the calendar year, according to The NPD Group."<br /><br />And how did the company fare during the holiday season? As you might expect, due to releases like <em>Call of Duty: World at War</em>, <em>Guitar Hero: World Tour</em> (which <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/26/npd-guitar-hero-world-tour-outsells-rock-band-2-by-2-1-in-2008/">outsold <em>Rock Band 2</em> at 2:1 in 2008</a>) and a little expansion you may have heard of called <em>Wrath of the Lich King</em>, "Activision Blizzard was the #1 console, handheld and PC publisher in the U.S. and Europe, according to The NPD Group, Charttrack and Gfk." Unfortunately, during a recession like this, even being "the #1 console, handheld and PC publisher in the U.S. and Europe" wasn't enough, with the company losing $72 million in Q4, or 5 cents a share, and announcing a 2009 outlook that falls shy of Wall Street's expectations. Sometimes it's tough being the king.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/11/activision-blizzard-loses-72m-in-q4-08-outlook-misses-09-expe/">Activision Blizzard loses $72m in Q4 '08; outlook misses '09 expectations</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Feb 2009 18:35:00 EST. Someone must have <em>stirred</em> Bond's martini, because he's <em>livid</em> and won't make his appointment with retail shelves this year, Activision confirmed during its recent financial earnings report. The PP7-wielding British spy will instead arrive in "calendar 2010," CFO Thomas Tippl said, "to avoid head to head competition" with 2009's soon-to-be-blockbuster <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2"><em>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2</em></a>. <br /><br />Many of you may think this is the same James Bond racing game that Bizarre has said <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/03/bizarre-making-bond-title-for-2009-new-racing-ip-is-mario-kart/">it's working on</a>, and we're right there, wondering with you. Activision is unlikely to push back a racing game because of its FPS franchise, so this suggests a different, action-based <em>Bond</em> game altogether.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/11/activision-delays-james-bond-title-to-2010/">Activision delays James Bond title to 2010</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Feb 2009 18:15:00 EST. James Bond is traveling to Japan this March when <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/quantum-of-solace"><em>Quantum of Solace</em></a> finally releases on the PS3, 360, PS2 and Wii in the region. Activision Blizzard has handed the publishing rights to Square Enix for the game's eastern release, where it will be named <em>007: Nagusame no Houshuu</em>. <em>Quantum of Solace</em>'s March 26th release date means it will be arriving a bit late when compared to the movie itself, despite it only just reaching Japan within the last week. <br /><br />We're not sure how well <em>Quantum of Solace</em> is likely to sell in the far east, but we can presume that Square Enix thinks there's some money to be made from it. Since Activision has <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3171812">shut up shop</a> in the region, handing the publishing rights over to Japanese publishers looks to become a regular occurrence. We weren't expecting Square Enix to be the first to take advantage, but perhaps sticking its name on the box will actually help increase sales.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/02/japan-will-play-quantum-of-solace-courtesy-of-square-enix/">Japan will play Quantum of Solace courtesy of Square Enix</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 02 Feb 2009 22:58:00 EST. Following reports taken directly from an upfront with Massive Inc. that sequels were on the way for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/04/next-tony-hawk-wont-be-played-with-a-controller-in-your-hands/"><em>Tony Hawk</em></a>, <em>Call of Duty</em> -- specifically, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/03/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-announced/">a follow-up to <em>Modern Warfare</em></a> -- and <em>Guitar Hero</em>, and that a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/04/bizarre-working-on-new-bond-and-racer-projects/">new <em>Bond</em> game</a> is in the works, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Activision/">Activision</a> informed <a href="http://www.videogamer.com/news/04-12-2008-10107.html">VideoGamer.com</a> that such reports are "speculative." In other words, Activision declined to confirm the projects it confirmed only yesterday. In other news, when asked whether or not it intended to poop in the woods, a bear told us that such reports were "speculative." The Pope also declined to confirm whether or not he wears a funny hat.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/04/activision-call-of-duty-6-guitar-hero-5-talk-speculative/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/04/activision-cod-6-tony-hawk-guitar-hero-5-talk-speculative/">Activision: COD 6, Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero 5 talk 'speculative'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Dec 2008 14:45:00 EST. <div align="left">Industry rumors either turn out to be true or false and in the case of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bizarre-creations">Bizarre Creations</a>' future projects, every <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/09/new-bizarre-racer-set-for-2009/">racing</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/11/rumor-bizarre-working-on-a-new-007/"><em>Bond</em> rumor</a> you heard over the last year has turned out to be ... well, true.</div>

<br />
As part of Activision's Massive upfront (the same one that announced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/03/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-announced/"><em>Modern Warfare 2</em></a>), we <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/12/03/activision-announces-guitar-hero-5-new-tony-hawk-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-more-at-in-game-ad-conference/">learn</a> that Bizarre is hard at word on an original <em>James Bond</em> game as well as an original racer IP that's being described as a "Mario Kart meets Forza." As is the norm, release details and game specifics were not given.<br />
<br />
All said, we're glad to see Bizarre hard at work on new projects, but would like to see some fresh <em>Geometry </em>in 2009. We're proud <em>Geometry </em>addicts.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/04/bizarre-working-on-new-bond-and-racer-projects/">Bizarre working on new Bond and racer projects</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Dec 2008 10:30:00 EST. At a summit held by Massive for in-game advertising, Activision confirmed that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bizarre">Bizarre Creations</a> is working on a new third-person Bond title for release in 2009. According to the <a href="http://twitter.com/ncroal">Twitter feed</a> of Newsweek's N'Gai Croal (trust us, he's legit), the game is being touted as "racing and driving focused." The executive also mentioned Bizarre's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/09/bizarre-creationss-new-racing-ip-due-fy09/">new racing IP</a>, describing it as "<em>Mario Kart </em>meets <em>Forza.</em>" It's not much (in fact, it's somewhat paradoxical), but it does hint at a departure from <em>Project Gotham Racing's </em>realism -- relative to Mario Kart!<br />
<br />
The executive also reportedly said the <span class="entry-content">next <em>Call of Duty Modern Warfare</em> is due out Fall 2009. We're uncertain if that's confirmation of the next <em>COD's </em>setting or just a glib way of saying "Infinity Ward's <em>COD</em> series." We're reaching out to Activision for clarification on all these statements.</span><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/03/bizarre-making-bond-title-for-2009-new-racing-ip-is-mario-kart/">Bizarre making Bond title for '09, new racing IP is 'Mario Kart meets Forza'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 03 Dec 2008 16:44:00 EST. Are people getting less excited about midnight launches? Or does it just depend on the game, or even the event itself? We'll have a chance to test that theory this week with what looks to be yin and yang launches. Last night we went to the midnight launch of Activision's James Bond game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/quantum-of-solace/"><em>Quantum of Solace</em></a>, and at the other end you've got <em>Gears of War 2</em> launching on Friday. We'll have to see how they compare, because last night's <em>Quantum of Solace</em> launch was a big <span style="font-style: italic;">Dr. No</span>.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-launch/">Quantum of Solace Launch</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-launch/#1136674"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/11/quantum6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-launch/#1136673"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/11/quantum2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-launch/#1136672"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/11/quantum21_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-launch/#1136671"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/11/quantum13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quantum-of-solace-launch/#1136670"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/11/quantum10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/04/los-angeles-quantum-of-solace-launch-event-fizzles/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Los Angeles Quantum of Solace launch event fizzles</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/04/los-angeles-quantum-of-solace-launch-event-fizzles/">Los Angeles Quantum of Solace launch event fizzles</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 04 Nov 2008 14:15:00 EST. If you need a game, this week's for you. While we can't vouch for the quality of all the releases (or even, uh, half), but we can say one thing: there's a lot of 'em. And by a lot, we mean <em>dozens</em>. Well, if you add up all the regions, anyway. Look, don't get technical. It's a lot. See for yourself.<br /><br />As an aside, after seeing this week's releases, we should stop crying about not having any more <em>Professor Layton</em> -- the first title is only just now being released in Europe! And what's up with <em>Korg DS-10</em>? It's been turning up on releases for a while. Maybe we'll actually see it this week.<br />

This is a big week for fans of James Bond. Those who found themselves interested in the super spy's latest exploits will have a chance to nab <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/30/quantum-of-solace-video-may-cheer-you-up/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Quantum of Solace</span></a> this week. If you enjoy FPS games, or are looking for some people to play online with, we'd suggest Game Night. Of course, <span style="font-style: italic;">Quantum of Solace</span> isn't the <span style="font-style: italic;">only </span>game releasing this week. Head past the break and check out what else is on offer.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/03/retail-and-download-releases-for-the-week-of-november-3rd/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Retail and download releases for the week of November 3rd</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/03/retail-and-download-releases-for-the-week-of-november-3rd/">Retail and download releases for the week of November 3rd</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 03 Nov 2008 08:59:00 EST. Tired of all the Presidential coverage? Want to go British for a day? Activision has you covered. Best Buy and Activision have revealed plans to launch the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Quantum-of-Solace/">Quantum of Solace</a></em> game at midnight for players in the West Hollywood area. Beginning November 3 at 10PM, everyone and anyone is invited to celebrate the launch of the upcoming shooter which takes <em>James Bond</em> through <em>Casino Royale </em>and whatever a<em> Quantum of Solace</em> is. Attendees will also have a chance to score a boat load of prizes ranging from gift cards between $10 and $2,500 as well as a 52" LCD HDTV.<br /><br />Also on hand will be stations where gamers can practice their hand at the latest <em>Bond</em> theme, "Another Way to Die" from Jack White and Alicia Keys, in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Guitar-Hero-World-Tour/">Guitar Hero: World Tour</a></em>. The Bond theme will soon be made available as downloadable content for <em>World Tour </em>but no timing or price has been confirmed at this time.<br /><br />Not near West Hollywood? <em>Look at the footage!</em><br /><br />As most of you have probably noticed, the Wii is inching toward living up to one of the great potentials of its controller: its usefulness for shooting at things! But what you may not have expected is the fact that a <em>Bond game</em> is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/24/quantum-of-solace-has-zapper-support-online-multiplayer/">looking pretty sweet</a>. That hasn't happened too often since <em>GoldenEye 007</em> set its amazing standard back in 1997.<br /><br />One European Wii owner decided to perform a great service for all the world (or, uh, those who might buy <em>Quantum of Solace</em>), and the result is the above video, featuring (almost) ten minutes of footage from the game, that you may study it closely. Bless YouTube and all its users.<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/30/quantum-of-solace-video-may-cheer-you-up/">Quantum of Solace video may cheer you up</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 30 Oct 2008 09:00:00 EST.
