If you missed the live stream of the 13th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards (i.e., the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/DICE-2010/">DICE</a> awards), and don't want to wait for the "broadcast premiere" this Friday, the whole thing is available now in chunks on <a href="http://www.ifc.com/interactive-awards/">IFC.com</a>. The first two clips cover Jay Mohr's (<em>Gary Unmarried</em>, <em>Action</em>, <em>Go</em>, Mr. Nikki Cox) 40-minute monologue, while the rest is the awards ceremony -- and, well, the "<em>Indiana Jones</em> sequel" Mohr wanted <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/19/uncharted-2-wins-like-everything-at-interactive-achievement-awar/">swept those</a>.<br />
<br />
The reason we decided to drop the Mohr monologue after the break was because we're guessing there will be "edits" for TV, including some inside jokes about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/richard-garriott/">Richard Garriott</a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/bobby-kotick">Bobby Kotick</a> (in particular, the 6:45 mark during the second clip). We're not sure if the general television audience will "get it," but we trust that you all will.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/24/dice-awards-now-on-ifc-com-check-out-the-jay-mohr-monologue-her/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>DICE awards now on IFC.com, check out the Jay Mohr monologue here</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/24/dice-awards-now-on-ifc-com-check-out-the-jay-mohr-monologue-her/">DICE awards now on IFC.com, check out the Jay Mohr monologue here</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 24 Feb 2010 00:01:00 EST. Codemasters, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/21/codemasters-publishing-leisure-suit-larry-box-office-bust-comi/">recent proud owner</a> and publisher of <em>Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust</em>, recently posted <a href="http://www.codemasters.com/games/index.php?gameid=3020">a couple of hard-hitting interviews</a> with two members of the game's impressive voice cast: Carmen Electra and Jay Mohr. Electra, who voices porn actress-turned mainstream ingenue Ginger Vitus, speaks mostly on the importance of the use of innuendo when discussing boobies. Mohr focuses <strike>mohr</strike> more on his unconventional usage of sweatsocks. <br /><br />Will you find it particularly hilarious? Maybe. Did we specifically write this post so we could include the words "porn" and "boobies," thereby shamelessly boosting our traffic figures? <em>Hell yes</em>, son.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.vg247.com/2009/03/20/wath-carmen-elektra-talk-dirty-for-leisure-suit-larry/">VG247</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/20/watch-carmen-electra-and-jay-mohr-act-in-leisure-suit-larry-b/">Watch Carmen Electra and Jay Mohr 'act' in Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 20 Mar 2009 10:28:00 EST. We've seen the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/19/watch-activision-alienate-E3-audience-with-jamie-kennedy/">unforgettably disastrous</a> consequences that result when comedians attempt to make jokes at the expense of members of the gaming industry (smelly virgins! LOLOLOL!), but from what we've heard, Jay Mohr's introduction to the 12th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards show <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/02/20/dice-2009-jokes-that-mock-to-game-developers/">actually possessed</a> some elements of humor. Instead of harping on gamer stereotypes, Mohr's act was refreshingly researched -- take, for instance, his jab at Richard Garriott: "That guy used thirty million to launch himself into space. Maybe he should have used that to launch <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Tabula%20Rasa">Tabula Rasa</a></em>."<br /><br />While some of his jabs fell flat, Mohr ended up hitting more than he missed. He compared the 100-plus hours he's sunk into <em style="font-style: italic;"><a style="font-style: italic;" href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Fallout%203">Fallout 3</a></em> to the amount of time it takes to acquire a pilot's license, saying, "Guys are landing planes on the Hudson. I'm decorating a shack in Megaton." He turned his sights to the D.I.Y. nature of <em style="font-style: italic;"><em><a style="font-style: italic;" href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/LittleBigPlanet/">LittleBigPlanet</a>, </em></em>too, saying, "It's like buying a CD, plugging it in, and then having to go buy all the instruments." Best of all, he refused to pick on <em style="font-style: italic;"><em><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Grand%20Theft%20Auto%20IV">Grand Theft Auto IV</a></em></em></em>, quipping, "If you want to watch an awards show about thugs beating up ho's, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1604609/20090209/rihanna.jhtml">watch the Grammys</a>." Awww ... (wait for it) ...<em style="font-style: italic;"><em><br /></em></em><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/20/dice-2009-jay-mohr-pokes-fun-at-developers-at-aiaa-awards/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>DICE 2009: Jay Mohr pokes fun at devs at AIAA awards</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/20/dice-2009-jay-mohr-pokes-fun-at-developers-at-aiaa-awards/">DICE 2009: Jay Mohr pokes fun at devs at AIAA awards</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 20 Feb 2009 17:00:00 EST. There are two things <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em></a> is well-known for. One, is to have successfully peddled off Sackboy as a lovable PlayStation mascot and the other is to rack up <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/13/vga-08-the-playstation-exclusive-nominees-are/">nominations</a> like they're handing out free candy at the market. Continuing this trend of making industry heads turn and getting recognition, the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) has announced the nominees for its 12th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards with <em>LittleBigPlanet</em> being noted as most-nominated. Is there an award for just that -- most nominated?<br /><br />All in all, the do-it-yourself platformer builder scored 10 nominations including "Overall Game of the Year" and "Outstanding Innovation in a Game"; however, we won't know if it won any of those until February 19 when the ceremony begins. Host <a href="http://cache.deadspin.com/sports/jaymohr2.jpg">Jay Mohr</a> will surely bank on the opportunity to milk the <em>LBP</em>-crazed crowd with some Sackboy humor -- we just <em>can't</em> wait.<br /><br />[via press release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/23/littlebigplanet-scores-most-nominations-for-februarys-aiaa/">LittleBigPlanet scores most nominations for February's AIAA</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 23 Jan 2009 13:45:00 EST. Both Caliendo and Jay Mohr are joining the voice cast of Midway's upcoming footballer, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Blitz-The-League-II/"><em>Blitz: The League II</em></a>.<br /><br />Caliendo will play three different characters, the prison warden, the offensive line coordinator and the color commentator, and Mohr will be playing The Agent, which will probably be similar to the role he played in <em>Jerry Maguire</em>. Midway probably wants to avoid a lawsuit with NBC, the NFL, and Madden himself, so it's doubtful Caliendo will be speaking as The Coach when we get blitzed this Fall... but here's hoping. <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blitz-the-league-ii-xbox-360-and-ps3/">Blitz The League II (Xbox 360 &amp; PS3)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blitz-the-league-ii-xbox-360-and-ps3/#963478"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/blitzii_06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blitz-the-league-ii-xbox-360-and-ps3/#963477"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/blitzii_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blitz-the-league-ii-xbox-360-and-ps3/#963476"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/league_logo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blitz-the-league-ii-xbox-360-and-ps3/#963475"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/blitzii_07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blitz-the-league-ii-xbox-360-and-ps3/#963474"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/blitzii_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/06/john-madden-impersonator-in-blitz-the-league-ii/">John Madden impersonator in Blitz: The League II</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Aug 2008 23:30:00 EST.
