We're sure everyone else who remembers this old Hudson game is as shocked as we are.<br /><br />Joysound uses a streaming library of over 1,000 songs, access to which can be rented for one or three days, or one month, at a time. Contents of the library have yet to be announced, and we don't know the cost. For reference, the Japanese version was 300 Wii Points for one day, 500 for three, and 1,000 ($10) for a month.<br /><br />The North American version ships this fall, and includes two microphones.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/01/karaoke-joysound-finds-its-way-to-north-american-wiis-this-fall/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Karaoke Joysound finds its way to North American Wiis this fall</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/01/karaoke-joysound-finds-its-way-to-north-american-wiis-this-fall/">Karaoke Joysound finds its way to North American Wiis this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 01 Jun 2012 21:30:00 EST. Nintendo announced a <span style="font-style: italic;">lot</span> of games last night at their Japanese conference. Many of them, like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/02/punch-out-coming-in-first-half-of-2009/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Punch-Out!!</span></a> here, were brand new. Some, like <span style="font-style: italic;">Supan Smasher</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">Cosmic Walker,</span> we <span style="font-style: italic;">still</span> don't know anything about. But we've got screenshots. <span style="font-style: italic;">So </span>many screenshots.<br />
<br />
After the break, you'll find galleries of all the new games, along with new screens of some upcoming games we've known about for a while. Of special interest to us: the previously-announced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/19/marvelous-oboro-muramasa-youtouden-announced-for-us/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Oboro Muramasa Youtouden</span></a>, coming to the US as <em>Muramasa: The Demon Blade, </em>because it looks <span style="font-style: italic;">super</span> hot, <em>Karaoke Joysound Wii,</em> which appears to have art by <em>Parappa</em> creator Rodney Alan Greenblat, and <span style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Takuto of Magic </span></span>(<span style="font-style: italic;">Wand of Magic</span>), which appears to be a followup to Taito's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/02/03/lostmagic-coming-to-ds/"><span style="font-style: italic;">LostMagic</span></a> on the DS.<br />

While we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/26/north-america-soon-to-join-in-on-the-alien-crushing/"><em>completely freak</em></a> over the news that <em>Alien Crush Returns</em> will be coming Stateside soon, take a brief second to remember <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/29/karaoke-joysound-wii-thousands-of-downloadable-songs/"><em>Karaoke Joysound Wii</em></a>. A few months ago, Hudson's Mike Pepe <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/26/takahashi-meijin-hudson-planning-adventure-island-sequel/">stated</a> that two games from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/alien-crush"><em>Alien Crush Returns</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/12/dont-tap-the-glass-in-hudsons-my-aquarium/"><em>My Aquarium</em></a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/wii-and-friends-a-great-match/739985/"><em>Karaoke Joysound Wii</em></a> would be localized. With the first two now confirmed for North America, that means (as expected) that the karaoke game will be staying in Japan.<br /><br />The silver lining: if you're feeling adventurous and refuse to let such obstacles prevent you from warbling to J-pop, you can always get your import on -- Hudson just gave the game a release date of December 11th in its homeland.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2008/08/28/joysound-brings-j-pop-karaoke-to-the-wii-in-december/">Siliconera</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/28/karaoke-joysound-wii-dated-in-japan-where-it-will-probably-stay/">Karaoke Joysound Wii dated in Japan, where it will probably stay</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Aug 2008 20:17:00 EST. If there's one person who would know the future of <em>Adventure Island</em>'s <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/20/hudson-interviews-the-real-life-master-higgins/">Master Higgins</a>, it's ... Master Higgins himself. According to statements made by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/24/takahashi-meijin-to-show-off-wii-ware-in-japan/">Takahashi Meijin</a> (the real-life basis for the Master Higgins character) in a conference call a few minutes ago, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Hudson/">Hudson</a> is in the earliest stages of planning a new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/26/the-vc-advantage-grass-skirts-and-skateboards-a-winning-combi/"><em>Adventure Island</em></a> game, "probably" for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/category/WiiWare/">WiiWare</a>. <br /><br />There are no details yet, but Takahashi expressed concern about "forcing" motion control into the game, saying it would "change what the game is about." <br /><br />Regarding other Hudson WiiWare, Hudson's Mike Pepe said that between <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/28/wiiware-now-worthwhile-hudson-reveals-alien-crush-sequel-more/">Alien Crush</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/11/blue-oasis-to-mellow-out-wiiware-worldwide/">Blue Oasis</a>,</em> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/29/karaoke-joysound-wii-thousands-of-downloadable-songs/">Karaoke Joysound Wii</a>,</em> "two out of three" would be localized for North America, and that more details would be known about a month before the release date. We don't know for sure which is excluded, but two of those games don't rely on multiple music licensing deals. We didn't get to ask about <em>Bomberman </em>or <em>Tetris,</em> but is there any doubt that <em>Bomberman</em> is coming out everywhere in the world?<br /><br />In addition, Hudson is working on a "puzzle action" title that may use the Balance Board.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/26/takahashi-meijin-hudson-planning-adventure-island-sequel/">Takahashi Meijin: Hudson planning Adventure Island sequel</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 26 Jun 2008 21:15:00 EST. During Hudson's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/28/wiiware-now-worthwhile-hudson-reveals-alien-crush-sequel-more/">WiiWare event</a>, the company also revealed new details about <em>Karaoke JoySound Wii</em>, which is actually a hybrid WiiWare/retail release. The singing game, designed to provide a karaoke-club experience at home, will come in two versions: a retail package with a microphone, and a downloadable version that requires separate mics.<br /><br />Rather than pay-per-song DLC, <em>Joysound</em> actually uses a subscription model that provides access to Xing's existing <a href="http://joysound.com/ex/index.htm?">Joysound library</a> of 20,000 songs, with 1,000 new songs added every month. Hudson plans to release <em>Karaoke Joysound Wii</em> this summer in Japan. Since it relies so heavily on an existing collection of Japanese karaoke songs, an American release doesn't seem likely.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/29/karaoke-joysound-wii-thousands-of-downloadable-songs/">Karaoke Joysound Wii: thousands of downloadable songs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 29 Mar 2008 12:00:00 EST. Look at that. <em>Look at it.</em> That is a screenshot of a <em>new Alien Crush game.</em> Even if it is a little ugly, it's the most beautiful thing <em>ever</em>. If we didn't already have a Wii, we'd be camping out for one right now based on this alone -- seriously. And it's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/category/WiiWare/">WiiWare</a>! With online leaderboards! (Online leaderboards for <em>Alien Crush?</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/14/wii-warm-up-enter-initials/">Where</a> would you get an idea like that?) Just like with the Virtual Console, Hudson has proven that they know how to support a download service. <em>Alien Crush </em>is coming out in Japan in August, and it had <em>better</em> come out worldwide near that time. Including the stuff shown today (and <span style="font-style: italic;">Star Soldier R</span>), Hudson has ten WiiWare titles planned.<br />
<br />
This AMAZING NEWS was revealed at a Hudson event in a Brazilian restaurant in Shibuya, along with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blue-oasis-wiiware/"><em>Blue Oasis</em></a>, a virtual fish-tank type game that interacts with the Forecast Channel. It'll be out sometime this year. Hit the break for screens, as well as some new <span style="font-style: italic;">Tetris </span>and <span style="font-style: italic;">Bomberman</span> images!<br />

So far, the hub lists almost a dozen upcoming titles, attaching new screenshots to some of the releases:<br />

<em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/20/gdc08-new-wiiware-title-unveiled-lostwinds/"> LostWinds</a></em> and other western-developed games are noticeably missing, but that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't planned as launch or near-launch titles for other territories. Much to our disappointment, the page neglects to mention any specific pricing for the titles.<br />
<br />
One worthwhile detail that we spotted is the above screenof <em>Dr. Mario's</em> four-player cooperative mode. The puzzler was already perfect before -- now it's even <em>perfecter</em>. There's also a multiplayer shot for <em>Magnetica (Puzzloop)</em> worth checking out!<br />

Though its potential can't be denied, Nintendo's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wiiware">Wii Ware channel</a>, an upcoming download service for new Wii games, didn't impress us much with the seemingly low-budget titles announced for it so far. Nintendo amended that worriment today at its Tokyo conference by revealing a lineup of impressive projects in progress, turning our "Excitement Level" knob to <em>eleven</em>, one measure greater than what we previously thought the mechanism allowed. <br />
<br />
<em>Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Little King and the Promised Land</em> (1500 Wii Points, March), a "country-building sim," stands out from the bunch, promising an exclusive side story which takes place after the original GameCube game. This marks the fourth entry to the series and the second <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=crystal+chronicles&amp;searchsubmit="><em>Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles</em></a> title announced for the Wii. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/squareenix">Square Enix</a> has already made a teaser site for you to load up and <em>immediately close</em> once you've realized that there's almost nothing there yet. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Hudson/">Hudson</a>, having kept things <em>on and poppin'</em> on the Virtual Console side for some time now, demonstrated its commitment to the new service by announcing new games like <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Bomberman/">Bomberman</a></em>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/16/hudson-preps-sequel-to-star-soldier-a-q/"><em>Star Soldier R</em></a>, and <em>Joysound</em>, the last of which will be a karaoke title. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/namco">Namco</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bandai">Bandai</a> also chimed in with <em>Mojipittan</em>, a Japanese word puzzle game.<br />
<br />
As for Nintendo's contributions to the Wii Ware channel, the company announced <em>Dr. Mario</em> (!!!), <em>Pokemon Farm</em>, <em>Puzzloop for Everyone</em>, and <em>Maruboushikaku</em>, all of which appearing to have some form of Mii integration. You can preview screenshots for those titles at the Famitsu links below.<br />
