After confirming it for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Ubisoft <a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20080221222032/http://www.ps3land.com/article-1004.php">cancelled</a> <em>Killing Day</em> in 2006.<br /><br />This isn't the first time Ubisoft filed a <em>Killing Day</em> trademark post-cancellation. Ubisoft did the same <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/29/ubisoft-files-new-killing-day-trademark/">back in 2009</a>, then <a href="http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=77740825&amp;caseType=SERIAL_NO&amp;searchType=statusSearch">abandoned</a> the trademark in 2012. Outside of that, there's not been a peep about the game since its cancellation some six years ago.<br /><br />All of which makes it curious to see Ubisoft retain the trademark now. When approached about the trademark, an Ubisoft rep told us, "No comment for now."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/14/ubisoft-re-files-killing-day-trademark/">Ubisoft re-files Killing Day trademark</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 Jan 2013 10:15:00 EST. Ubisoft filed a <a href="http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&amp;entry=77740825">new trademark</a> last week for a seemingly forgotten title known as <em>Killing Day</em>. The game, as remembered by <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/ubis-killing-day-and-cop-trademarks">Eurogamer</a>, was last seen in 2005 during Sony's E3 press conference. What's been going on for the past four years is anyone's guess, but it would appear that <em>Killing Day</em> hasn't been ... killed. <br /><br />The listing classifies <em>Killing Day</em> as disc-based and cartridge software for consoles and handhelds, as well as a game for mobile phones. In other words, it could be for any platform, and not just Sony's, as previously thought. That is, if Ubisoft has any plans of pulling <em>KD</em> out of the swirling vaporware.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://supererogatory.tumblr.com/post/113165606">Superannuation</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/29/ubisoft-files-new-killing-day-trademark/">Ubisoft files new 'Killing Day' trademark</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 29 May 2009 05:00:00 EST.
