When we saw this news, our giant wing-like ears flapped in excitement and we exclaimed in a nonsensical language. <em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em>, one of the PlayStation's best (and only) side-scrollers, is going to be released on PSN via PSOne Classics.<br />
<br />
That is, of course, assuming that's why the ESRB rated the game for PS3 and PSP. It's a pretty safe assumption. If you don't want to wait for the Wind Bulleting, enemy-grabbing action to hit PS3 and PSP, <em>Door to Phantomile</em> is also available in a more modern form -- it was remade for Wii.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/18/esrb-dreams-up-klonoa-door-to-phantomile-on-ps3-and-psp/">ESRB dreams up Klonoa: Door to Phantomile on PS3 and PSP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 18 Jul 2011 16:45:00 EST. Critical darling (and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/namco-thinks-wii-is-ripe-for-klonoa-remake/">Wiimake</a>) <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Klonoa/">Klonoa</a></em> has seen a UK price cut, prior to even being released to stores. The upcoming Nintendo Wii title is scheduled to release on May 22, but multiple retailers have cut the RRP nearly in half. <a href="http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/9248352/Klonoa/Product.html">Play.com UK</a> is offering the PS1 remake for &pound;14.99 while <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Klonoa-Door-to-Phantomile-Wii/dp/B001VEJ00K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=videogames&amp;qid=1242665117&amp;sr=8-1">Amazon.co.uk</a> is selling the title for &pound;17.99. The suggested retail price is listed as &pound;24.99.<br /><br />If the price slash continues after release, <em>Klonoa</em> could be one of the fastest cuts we've ever seen to to a Namco title. Unless you count the cut to our hearts when <em>Star Wars</em> characters were <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/2008/01/09/darth-vader-and-yoda-join-soul-calibur-iv-seriously/">unceremoniously introduced</a> into the world of <em>Soul Calibur</em>. <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/klonoa-wii-remake-confirmed-for-europe">Eurogamer reports</a> that Namco's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/klonoa"><em>Klonoa</em></a> remake will be making its way to Europe, likely putting a smile on a face or two along the way. <em>Klonoa</em> is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/namco-thinks-wii-is-ripe-for-klonoa-remake/">an updated version</a> of the original PSOne game, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klonoa:_Door_to_Phantomile"><em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em></a>, and features a new control scheme that takes advantage of the capabilities of the Wiimote and Nunchuk, but will also include a classic control method for those who wish to ditch the waggle.<br /><br /><em>Klonoa </em>is <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klonoa:_Door_to_Phantomile">currently available in Japan</a> and will <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/22/klonoa-to-north-america-in-spring/">make its way to North America</a> sometime this spring. And it's doing away with that pesky subtitle <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/namco-thinks-wii-is-ripe-for-klonoa-remake/"><em>Door to Phantomile</em></a>. Yes, Namco's remake of the classic PSOne game will release in North America, as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/22/klonoa-to-north-america-in-spring/">reported earlier</a>, and will simply be titled <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/klonoa">Klonoa</a>. </em>Should be easy enough to remember.<br /><br />All we have to go on right now is a 2009 release window. Namco hasn't specified an exact date within the year, but, hey, it's 2009 <em>right now</em>. Let's hope we get it sooner rather than later.<br /><br /><strong>See also: </strong><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/07/born-for-wii-klonoa-2-lunateas-veil/">Born for Wii: <em>Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil</em></a><br /><br />
<br />[Via press release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/09/namco-confirms-klonoa-coming-to-north-america/">Namco confirms Klonoa coming to North America </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 09 Jan 2009 19:10:00 EST. It's been over a decade since <em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em> came out on the original PlayStation, received heaps of critical praise, and completely tanked at retail. The Wii remake will have its own chance at being unsuccessful this year when it's released by Namco Bandai under a new, shorter moniker: <em>Klonoa</em>.<br /><br />We're hoping Wii owners in the US won't ignore this charming platformer. The Wii Remote seems perfectly suited for the game. A large part of the game involves grabbing and throwing enemies, and that should be easily handled with a simple shake of the Remote. Those that want more traditional controls will be able to use a GameCube or Classic controller.<br /><br />The charming character designs and colorful environments certainly make the game one of the more eye-popping on Wii. Check out the latest screens in our brand-new gallery.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/klonoa-wii/">Klonoa (Wii)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/klonoa-wii/#1273130"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/01/klonoajan-018_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/klonoa-wii/#1273129"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/01/klonoajan-017_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/klonoa-wii/#1273128"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/01/klonoajan-015_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/klonoa-wii/#1273127"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/01/klonoajan-014_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/klonoa-wii/#1273126"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/01/klonoajan-012_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/09/klonoa-getting-us-release-shorter-title/">Klonoa getting US release, shorter title</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 09 Jan 2009 14:52:00 EST. <p>Yay! The latest <em>Nintendo Power</em> has confirmed a North American localization of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/28/klonoa-looking-scrumptious-in-debut-trailers/">Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</a></em> (under the abbreviated moniker of <em>Klonoa</em>), and the good news doesn't stop there. For example:</p>
<ul>
    <li>The magazine states that Namco Bandai has settled on keeping the more <em>chibi</em> of its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/30/namco-bandai-exploring-possibility-of-localizing-ruining-klonoa/">two designs</a> for our eponymous hero, meaning Klonoa <em>won't</em> be made to look like about a million other cute, generic platform anthropomorphs. The elongated ears stay! </li>
    <li>Pleasingly, there will be a sensible range of control options, allowing you to rock a side-on Wiimote (surely the closest to how the PS1-era originals were enjoyed), a Cube pad, or the Classic Controller. </li>
    <li>Apparently, there has been much discussion of sequels and remakes; let's hope the game's <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=13946125&amp;postcount=1">weak sales</a> in Japan don't affect any plans to follow through on this! </li>
</ul>

To see <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/06/klonoa-vs-klonoa/">the changes that Namco made</a> to the original game, it almost looks like something completely brand new. But, thankfully, the gameplay is relatively unchanged, allowing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/28/klonoa-looking-scrumptious-in-debut-trailers/">the new Wii port</a> to retain the spirit of the original title. Namco Bandai is determined to spoil <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/30/namco-bandai-exploring-possibility-of-localizing-ruining-klonoa/">Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</a>'s </em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/17/klonoa-door-to-extras/">"Extra Vision"</a>, the "Balue's Tower" level in which Klonoa is tasked with picking up all 150 gems to unlock more special content. Now Dengeki is posting those screens along with the reverse stage and alternate costume information found a few days ago. Normally, revealing <em>total spoilarz</em> would be worth complaining about, but the statute of limitations has long past expired on <em>Klonoa</em> spoilers. <br /><br />But the real draw to this particular article isn't the repetition of <em>top secret info</em>. It's the fact that there are <em>tons</em> of new screens of the remake's third and fourth "visions," and they are as colorful and brilliant as every other <em>Klonoa</em> Wii screen. At this point, it doesn't matter if you've seen everything there is to see from the original, because you'll probably want to see it again.<br /><br />
<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/20/another-vision-of-klonoa-door-to-phantomile/">Another Vision of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 20 Nov 2008 17:25:00 EST. Famitsu has revealed some of the extra hidden content in the gorgeous Wii remake of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/21/klonoa-screens-of-phantomile/"><em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em></a>. The extra "vision," an especially difficult level set in Balue's Tower, was present in the PlayStation game and remains unlockable in this version. In addition, Klonoa will be able to earn secret costumes by beating bosses in Time Attack mode. Perhaps the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/30/namco-bandai-exploring-possibility-of-localizing-ruining-klonoa/">"new look" Klonoa</a> will be included in these unlockables?<br /><br />Players will also have the ability to unlock reversed versions of levels in which Klonoa starts from the end. Either these stages will have redesigned enemy layouts or other new content, or Famitsu is employing a bit of hyperbole by describing them as a "new adventure."<br /><br />
<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/17/klonoa-door-to-extras/">Klonoa: Door to Extras</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 17 Nov 2008 20:05:00 EST. <div align="left">GoNintendo's RMC reports that he received a survey from Namco Bandai all about <em>Klonoa</em>. There's only one reason that they would survey American gamers about this particular character at this time: they want to release the Wii remake of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/21/klonoa-screens-of-phantomile/"><em>Door to Phantomile</em></a>! Send us the survey -- we'll fill in the <em>YES PLZ </em>box.<br /><br />Further confirming the tentative localization plans, and depressing the hell out of us, one of the questions asked responders to choose which character design they preferred between these two: Klonoa's <a href="http://news.dengeki.com/elem/000/000/114/114785/img.html">character art</a> from the actual game, and a redesign in which Klonoa is apparently a wingless bat. The long ears are <em>kind</em> of important to gameplay, guys. And the Pac-Man hat is pretty important to <em>us.</em> At least if they're considering redesigning the character, Namco Bandai is probably hoping to give <em>Klonoa</em> a big marketing push.<br /><br />
</div>

It might just be because we can't help but mentally <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/06/klonoa-vs-klonoa/">compare it</a> to the PlayStation game, but we think the Wii remake of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/10/tgs08-klonoa-video-link-to-phantomile/"><em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em></a> looks <em>really</em> impressive. The colors are super-bright, the depth-of-field effect is cool, and the lighting is extremely well done. The simple character designs that made it possible for the game to work the first time <em>really</em> help out here.<br /><br />Dengeki has a large collection of screens of the first two "Visions" (levels). They also confirm that <em>Klonoa</em>, which comes out December 4 in Japan, will allow use of both the Classic Controller and the GameCube controller, in addition to the Wiimote!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/21/klonoa-screens-of-phantomile/">Klonoa: Screens of Phantomile</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Oct 2008 16:30:00 EST. </center><br />We didn't really have much doubt that the core gameplay in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/06/klonoa-vs-klonoa/"><em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em></a> would be preserved in the Wii remake, especially after seeing how closely the environments matched. But it's nice to see this gameplay video from TGS that proves that it's the same <em>Klonoa</em> as ever. Two more videos from this play session are after the break.<br /><br />In case you missed out on the PlayStation classic, <em>Klonoa'</em>s gameplay focuses on the mechanic of grabbing enemies and either throwing them at other enemies, or jumping and throwing them straight down, allowing Klonoa to do a double jump.<br /><br />Strangely, we think this remake bears a distinct resemblance to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/20/metareview-nights-journey-of-dreams/"><em>NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams</em></a>, another 2.5D platformer (or whatever you want to call <em>NiGHTS</em>) that takes place in the world of dreams.<br /><br />
<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/10/tgs08-klonoa-video-link-to-phantomile/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>TGS08: Klonoa: Video Link to Phantomile</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/10/tgs08-klonoa-video-link-to-phantomile/">TGS08: Klonoa: Video Link to Phantomile</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Oct 2008 09:00:00 EST. Still, if this keeps up, it's going to be hard for us to come up with game selections that make you go "Man, why didn't <em>I</em> think of that?" This week is a case in point: Namco went and ruined the surprise by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/namco-thinks-wii-is-ripe-for-klonoa-remake/">announcing a remake</a> of <em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em> for the Wii. Really, though, that just makes this week's choice all the more likely to see the light of day.<br /><br />The Klonoa series is often overlooked when gamers list off their favorite platformers. A <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/category/its-a-mario-world/">certain plumber</a> seems to snag the spotlight all too often. Still, Klonoa has a considerable cult following, and for good reason: the gameplay manages to be incredibly straightforward and fun at the same time. <em>Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil</em> is one of the most fun, lighthearted games of last generation, and its atmosphere and design make it a perfect match for the Wii.<br />

Along with a batch of screens of the remake of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/namco-thinks-wii-is-ripe-for-klonoa-remake/"><em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em></a>, Famitsu has posted a perfect comparison shot between the new Wii version and the PlayStation version. These two screens put next to each other will disabuse you of the nostalgic memory of <em>Klonoa</em> on the PlayStation looking nice, and will <em>completely</em> shatter any idea of the Wii version being a simple port. <br /><br />What it does suggest is that <em>Klonoa</em> on the Wii is a <em>very</em> close remake of the PlayStation game. This environment, at least, looks completely identical in layout. There may be extras attached (probably), but we expect this to be an upgraded remake rather than a re<em>mix</em>.<br /><br />
<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/06/klonoa-vs-klonoa/">Klonoa vs. Klonoa</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 Oct 2008 11:55:00 EST. Nintendo announced a <span style="font-style: italic;">lot</span> of games last night at their Japanese conference. Many of them, like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/02/punch-out-coming-in-first-half-of-2009/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Punch-Out!!</span></a> here, were brand new. Some, like <span style="font-style: italic;">Supan Smasher</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">Cosmic Walker,</span> we <span style="font-style: italic;">still</span> don't know anything about. But we've got screenshots. <span style="font-style: italic;">So </span>many screenshots.<br />
<br />
After the break, you'll find galleries of all the new games, along with new screens of some upcoming games we've known about for a while. Of special interest to us: the previously-announced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/19/marvelous-oboro-muramasa-youtouden-announced-for-us/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Oboro Muramasa Youtouden</span></a>, coming to the US as <em>Muramasa: The Demon Blade, </em>because it looks <span style="font-style: italic;">super</span> hot, <em>Karaoke Joysound Wii,</em> which appears to have art by <em>Parappa</em> creator Rodney Alan Greenblat, and <span style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Takuto of Magic </span></span>(<span style="font-style: italic;">Wand of Magic</span>), which appears to be a followup to Taito's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/02/03/lostmagic-coming-to-ds/"><span style="font-style: italic;">LostMagic</span></a> on the DS.<br />

Let's just say a <em>lot</em> of new games. And rather than write a separate post about each new game seen for the first time in this Nintendo media conference video, we'll just list out every new game we see in the order we see them, with a bit of description in case you can't figure out which is which. We'll also point out known games for which we're seeing the first video. Okay? <br />
<ul>
    <li><em>Let's Tap</em>, developed by Prope, published by Sega. The sidescrolling platformer/fireworks ... thing.</li>
    <li><em>Karaoke Joysound</em>, developed and published by Hudson. We knew about the game, but this video was the first look. It's the one with the rabbity avatar.</li>
    <li><em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em>. We saw scans of this remake this morning, and now there's the first video.</li>
    <li><em>Taiko no Tatsujin Wii</em>. It's the one that looks like a <em>Taiko </em>game! Coming December 11!</li>
</ul>
And <em>many</em> Nintendo-published games for 2009!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/02/nintendo-conference-video-reveals-one-billion-new-games/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Nintendo conference video reveals one billion new games</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/02/nintendo-conference-video-reveals-one-billion-new-games/">Nintendo conference video reveals one billion new games</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 02 Oct 2008 03:00:00 EST. Namco's not-quite 3D platforming mascot, Klonoa, will soon waggle his way onto the Wii by way of a remake of his first PlayStation adventure, <em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em>. According to <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3170280">1UP</a>, the Wiimake will boast a "hefty graphical enhancement" over the original, while <a href="http://wii.ign.com/articles/915/915109p1.html">IGN</a> adds that the title will also be getting difficulty tweaks as well.<br /> <br />Currently no US release has been announced, though our friends in Japan can look forward to controlling the 'Dream Traveler' on December 4 using just the Wii remote and two buttons as he ... wait, what is this game about again? Honestly it's been a decade since we played the thing. You could probably just tell us it's a racing title starring anthropomorphic vegetables and we'd be just as inclined to nod along and smile.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/klonoa-wiimake-dreaming-of-japan-this-december/">Klonoa Wiimake dreaming of Japan this December</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 01 Oct 2008 23:00:00 EST. A new <em>Klonoa</em> game from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/namco">Namco Bandai</a>, <em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em>, is being developed for Wii, according to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine. It's a remake of the first <em>Klonoa </em>game on the PSOne, which also happens to be called <em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em> (you can read up on it at Wikipedia <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klonoa:_Door_to_Phantomile">here</a>). The presentation, as you can see above, is cel-shaded, bright and colorful, maintaining the look of the franchise. We like it, to be honest. And, as is custom with the <em>Klonoa</em> games, expect this title to have plenty of platforming segments to go through.<br /><br /><em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em> is scheduled for a December 4th release in Japan.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/namco-thinks-wii-is-ripe-for-klonoa-remake/">Namco thinks Wii is ripe for Klonoa remake</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 01 Oct 2008 11:46:00 EST. Namco's lovable platformer from the PS1 era is getting resurrected. The PEGI (European equivalent of the ESRB) has rated the game for the PLAYSTATION Network. <em>Klonoa</em> was a hit amongst hardcore gamers for its art and unique gameplay. Juxtaposing 2D gameplay in a 3D environment was pretty exciting when it first came out. We wonder if the game has survived the test of age. The <a href="http://www.pegi.info">PEGI</a> (Pan-European Game Information) website has revealed another upcoming PS1 title that may be coming to the PSN within the next few months. <em>Klonoa</em> has been rated "3+" for the PlayStation Network. As fans of the quirky platformer (and its PS2 brother, <em>Klonoa 2</em>) we can't wait to see it hit the PSN Store. With the recent leaks of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/10/vib-ribbon-hitting-playstation-network-soon/"><em>Vib Ribbon</em></a> alongside this, it seems that SCEE are stepping up on keeping the quality level of upcoming PS1 games consistant. Let's have fewer games like <em>Hardcore 4x4</em> and more memorable, top shelf PS1 games. <br /><br />Of course, there's no word on <em>when</em> this might be hitting the European store, so keep your eyes out. We're expecting to see it sometime in the next eleven and a half months. If we're lucky. <br /><br />[Thanks Merc25]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/15/klonoa-rated-by-the-pegi-for-the-playstation-network/">Klonoa rated by the PEGI for the PlayStation Network</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 Jan 2008 15:30:00 EST. <p>A few days ago we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/12/the-truth-behind-david-jaffes-hl/">found out</a> about the story of David Jaffe's <em>Heartland</em>. The aim of the title was to have a game that would make a gamer cry. Since that game is dead in the water, it made me wonder if there already were games on the PSP that could make me cry. I haven't yet had it happen with a PSP title, but unfortuantely for me, I don't play every game that comes out. Until they release <em>Klonoa</em> PS1 as a PSP download, I'm not sure there's a PSP game out there that can make me cry. Am I wrong? Is there a PSP game that's made you cry? Do you admire a game that can achieve that emotion or do you only want the emotion of joy from playing games?</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/14/has-a-psp-game-ever-made-you-cry/">Has a PSP game ever made you cry?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Mar 2007 21:00:00 EST. We listed what we'd like to see from the PS1 library <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/26/our-most-wanted-psone-games/">last month</a>, but <a href="http://www.modojo.com/features/20070105/161/psone_ports_most_wanted/">Modojo </a>has their own list now. The list includes the predictable like <em>Castlevania: Symphony of the Night</em>, but it also includes more cult games like <em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em> (the ending of which made me cry). <br /><br />To see the rest of the list you'll have to go read the article. After you've done that though, come back here and let us know what games that you'd like to see make the leap from PS1 to PSP. <br /><br />[Thanks Justin ]<br /><br />[<strong>Update 1</strong>: Linked to our previous list of Most Wanted PS1 games]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/06/most-wanted-ps1-to-psp-games/">Most wanted PS1 to PSP games 2 [Update 1]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 06 Jan 2007 23:47:00 EST.
