<em> <font size="1">click to see the whole battlefield</font></em></div>
Big-time RTS <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/supreme-commander-2"><em>Supreme Commander 2</em></a> is rolling ever closer to release next month, and to whet your <em>appetite for (unit) production</em>, we've got some new screens and descriptions of three of the units you'll be Supreme Commanding around the battlefield. First up is the Bomb Bouncer, a shielded unit that gains power as it's fired upon and can then throw all of that stored-up damage right back in the faces of any units around it. The Pulinsmash is a unit that creates a vortex to "pull and smash" surrounding units into it, damaging and disrupting them like popcorn in a popper.<br />
<br />
Finally, the Kraken, as you can see on the right in the picture above, is a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraken" aiotitle="sea creature">sea creature</a>-shaped Cybran experimental submarine that can take down other subs, aircraft and even battlebots on land. Sure, these machines are awesome to go to war with, and we get the whole "commanding the troops" thing, but don't forget that every one of these rank-and-file units has a family. What about the supreme <em>children</em>, Commander?<br />

So, it's with pleasure that we present the video above, which is a short, but very sweet, which looks at some naval combat. The fun doesn't stop there, though, as we have tucked some other videos behind the break that focus on land and air combat, as well.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/18/battalion-wars-2-hits-the-open-water-land-air/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Battalion Wars 2 hits the open water, land, air</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/18/battalion-wars-2-hits-the-open-water-land-air/">Battalion Wars 2 hits the open water, land, air</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Oct 2007 14:15:00 EST. Thankfully, we can confirm that yes, we have confirmation on big-headed characters, and we are <em>go </em>for cuddliness.<br /><br />We are also <em>go </em>for minigames, which makes us a little nervous. We kind of have <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/15/metareview-wii-play/">enough</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/18/metareview-rayman-raving-rabbids/">minigames</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/15/minigames-strike-again-taitos-furufuru-park/">already</a> on the Wii, and we don't need much content from <em>Bomberman </em>other than multiplayer bombing. Online bombing would be great, of course, but that might be <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bomberman_Online">too much</a> to ask.<br /><br />Exclusive "scrolling through some screenshots" minigame* after the break.<br /><br />*by which we mean "screenshots for you to scroll through, and not a game at all."<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.qj.net/Dropping-the-bomb-on-Bomberman-Land/pg/49/aid/83714">QJNet</a>]<br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/22/bomberman-land-wii-is-adorable/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Bomberman Land Wii is adorable</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/22/bomberman-land-wii-is-adorable/">Bomberman Land Wii is adorable</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 22 Feb 2007 11:15:00 EST. O3 have delayed the US release of <a href="http://www.mile-stone.co.jp/top.html">Milestone's</a> shmup <a href="http://radioallergy.o3ent.com/"><em>Radio Allergy</em></a> until March 30th. The game, known as <em>Radilgy </em>in Japan, was released on the Gamecube in May of last year. We understand the delay-- shooting games have <em>so much text</em> to translate. Or maybe they didn't want to bring the game out in the midst of a <a href="http://www.ebgames.com/comingsoon.asp?platform=27&amp;sortby=eta&amp;imageFlag=show">busy Gamecube release season</a>. <br /><br /> Also (and this is what makes this news item <em>explicitly appropriate </em>for Wii Fanboy) O3 have deployed the <a href="http://blog.wired.com/games/2006/09/why_rhythm_teng.html"><em>"Rhythm Tengoku</em> trick"</a> in marketing their game-- there's a little "Wii Compatible" icon on the box. They might as well use every tactic they can think of; we get the feeling that selling a shmup for the Gamecube in 2007 is harder than, well, a certain kind of frantic videogame that is notorious for difficulty.<br /><br />We'd actually like to see the "Wii Compatible" tactic used by other developers to sell localized versions of <a href="http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ngc/ggfj/index.html">obscure titles</a> from the Gamecube <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Driller:_Drill_Land">back</a> <a href="http://nfggames.com/games/bonkgc/">catalog</a> at budget prices, but we think it would take a more popular game to start a trend. What do you think?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/20/radio-allergy-delayed-to-march/">Radio Allergy delayed to March</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 20 Feb 2007 11:15:00 EST.
